After dropping the car at the panel beaters, I cycled home along the Hauraki Rail Trail, so nabbed a few caches as I went. No problems locating this one. TFTC.
Thanks for your amazing cache vectis. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288 Cheers, Cympull.
Thanks Vectis. We are slowly but surely picking off these caches. Thanks for always making it interesting!
Away for the weekend to ride a section of the Hauraki Rail Trail from Waihi. This afforded me the opportunity to snag some caches en route. A nice quick find here keeping the numbers ticking on. Thanks vectis#5078Logged using Cachly.
A lovely day today, great to be out on the bikes. Nice to be able to change this one to a smiley face. Tftc
Admittedly I did not too hard. Clear evidence of lots of flooding in this area.
Back along the Waikino end to finish the trail
starting to warm up with the Sun
Nice hide thanks

First look for the day on our bike ride from Waihi to Karangahake Gorge. Great ride.

Finally we get to tick off this bluey! First DNF'd it back in 2014, almost 8 years we have had that frown look at us on the map! We did try in amongst the string of DNF's earlier in the year but saw it had been replaced so made it a must to find it.
Nice bit of a jog from the Railway Cafe carpark end and a quick find. Cheers!

This one was lost in one of the winter floods. Have placed it in a new spot where it might, just might, survive better.
Mmmmm no luck here for us either… been a while since it was found - may need a check?
Last rode this trail in April 2015 but with the geo-kids being quite small at the time we had to stop halfway so never got the caches at this end. This was a chance for me to tidy them up and NurseDr and B4Dawn to get them all.
Unfortunately no luck for us today. It looked as though the water had been up and over the bridge at some point so could have been washed away.

We were staying at the camping area at the Waihi Railway Station with the aim of riding a portion of the Hauraki Rail Trail. Like the previous cachers we were unable to locate this one.
Nice to be out biking some of the trail today. Really thought I had this one once I saw the tell tale signs of a pile of rocks / stones, but no cache. Had a further good hunt in the area, but no luck here today
We had a DNF on this one back in 2017. Biking the trail again today with friends, found a pile of rocks/stones - but sadly, not the cache.
The Kiwiscot clan hired some bikes from Waihi and hit the rail trail. Enjoyed our cycle through the gorge and tunnel. On our return journey now. Short of time with the bikes needing to be returned before hire shop closing. Had a quick look but no luck. Maybe next time......
We had a DNF here almost exactly two years ago and saw the cache had been replaced shortly afterwards so we have been wanting to come back ever since to turn it into a smiley.
Today we planned a day trip to the area to do the nearby Wherigo and find a few other caches so headed over to this one.
Being Queens Birthday weekend the trail was very busy with large groups of cyclists so we had to time our search carefully but managed to make the find during a quiet period.
Thanks vectis for a great hide and for giving us a reason to come back to one of our favourite sections of the Hauraki Rail Trail.

Last here in 2017 so turned the blue to yellow. Can't believe I didn't find it the first time. Tftc
Mr P and I had the best time, biking, finding caches and just enjoying the area. Highly recommended. T4tc
Heading from Paeroa to Waihi and back again on the HRT today, we collected a few caches along the way. We found this part of the trail to be very popular, and it is not hard to see why as this is a very scenic part of the HR trail.
A quick find here and we were back on our bikes.

Didn't have a pen for any of these ones. Made the ride so much more fun for kids. Thanks guys!
The Hauraki Rail Trail is closed while the Covid 19 rahui is in place. Anyone geocaching during this time is putting themselves and others at risk by handling the containers, stash and logs. So this cache is disabled until this present emergency ends. I reserve the right to disable any logs dated after the lockdown started.

Took train from Waihi and are biking back. Stopped long enough to grab this. NINO TFTC
Missed this one as well. Found it on another bike journey on HRT Section C. Thanks for replacing this cache. I had DNF here before. TFTC
Tramyard alerted us that he couldn't find this one, neither could we. There is evidence on the bridge sides how high the water has been .... perhaps floods have taken the cache.
Nice ride this morning, Waihi to Paeroa and return caching along the way. TFTC!
Having a ride with my family, So I thought I might go geocaching. First time past we had a look by we couldn't find. Then going back home we had another look. We found It! We all signed this returned it to it hiding place.
Kiwis69 and myself are doing the HRT the long, yet less painful way. We have done one section previous and it was decided that it was time to tackle another chunk of the trail. We picked to cycle from Waihi - Paeroa as there was a slight time restraint, plus it was the shorter option and I was worried since it had been awhile since I had some serious seat time. All up it took us 4.5hr (which included a lot of hunting at some caches and a few breaks)
Once we had the cars sorted, and then the bikes sorted it was time to hit the trail. The weather forecast was average today and we hoped that would keep the muggles away. Well there were still quite a few muggles out and about but not as bad as it could be so we managed to time our hunting inbetween people passing by.
Feeling a little defeated after the last cache we were glad this one was a nice quick one!
Thanks for the hides and giving us some welcome breather stops!

It's nearly 4 years to the day since our usual caching cronies cycled the HRT trail but without 11hpg11 & myself being part of that group. Today, its finally our turn! Thanks heaps for keeping the HRT series going. Cycling the Waihi - Paeroa section today & really enjoying it. After a DNF on the previous cache, we were relieved to find this one easily, TFTC
On a mission with fellow cacher, Dee+ME. A great winters day for a bike ride along this fabulous track, fantastic history in the area, had another look on our way back, definitely gone, bugga!
This turned out to be the first of two DNF's today ... after a 10 minute search by Mr L we decided to move on, as we had plenty more on the trail ahead. We will return though ... it is a lovely spot.
After planning a trip to the bay of plenty for easter to gather a cache or two, it changed dramatically (we thought) when we heard that cyclone cook was about to bear down on this area our hopes had dropped .
But no almost the complete opposite, so after getting bike and body sorted it was to the start we went and ride the HRT trail, we started in thames and the plan was to ride to te aroha if the body allowed.
Nice quick find here exactly where and how it should be.
Thanks for the smiley and the placement.

Today we decided to hike this trail..... We started at the "HRT start" and walked to "Victoria Battery" and turned around and came back. While we were hiking we had to stopped on the way to search for geocaches that was hidden on this scenic route. We had a lot of fun
Thanks for bringing us to this part of Waihi.

More of the HRT series of caches. Today was from Waihi to Waikino. Thanks for placing the series vectis.
Continuing our cycle of the Hauraki rail trail, this time between Paeroa and Waihi. Love this trail, thank you for creating
Out with Rustynz, Out playing on the bike with friends and Family having a fun time in the sun TFTC
Nice quick find this one. onwards and upwards. Starting to get hungry. Is it lunchtime yet?
Biking from Paeroa to Waihi and caching along the way. I had looked for this and not found the container on my way to Waihi. I looked in the same spot when I tried again, heading back to Paeroa, and this time I saw the container. Thanks for the hide!
Found it but log was very wet, changed zip and put a new paper.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Almost survived my first outing on a bike. Just as well or caches to distract me. Thanks for the cache
Found log sodden un signable...replaced with a water proof thanks for a great cache
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... It feels like ages since the last time we were out on the hunt. The weather has been predictably wet of late...
HRT Trail: I've been wanting to walk the section of track from Waikino to Waihi for some time now. The opportunity finally arose. After leaving the Victoria Battery, we set off on a fairly lengthy trek. There were many cyclists and walkers out on the path, but they seemed to be in such a hurry... After much time, we arrived at the first hide. This one was very wet, though we managed to get our names on the log. TFTC.

A nice quick find on our cycle back to Waihi. There is a wasp nest very close by. TFTC
Earlier in the year, tikitour and I decided we would team up and cycle the whole Hauraki Rail Trail over the long Easter weekend and look for all the caches along the way. On Good Friday we did the Thames to Paeroa leg and yesterday we did the Te Aroha to Paeroa leg. Today we left the best till last and did the final leg from Waihi to Paeroa. It was another lovely day today and this section of the trail was a whole lot busier than the other 2, but we didn't have too many troubles with muggles. It was lovely cycling through here and I would come back and do it again. Soon found this cache along the way. TFTC!

Day 3 of our cycling weekend and this was the best of the three days...fantastic track with lovely views, ups and down, great bridges , historical sites to visit, amazing tunnel and of course caches to find. It was a day of great variety, riding and walking. We cycled down from where we were staying in Waihi and we picked up a few along the way. Thanks for the placement of all the caches.
It took a few minutes to find this one, and I was a little wary as some wasps are building a nest almost directly above GZ - please take care!
