Slightly more than the reach and grab I thought it might be but all good. TFTC!
We were passing by in the rain as our weeks break had come to an end and it was time to head home. We originally hoped to really explore some Thames caches but I had to settle with just getting a solitary cache in Thames before getting too soaked. Tftc
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there currently staying near Ngatea for a few days we had decided that we would drive over to Kopu & then get the bikes out & bike some of the Kopu to Paeroa Section of the Hauraki Rail Trail (HRT) weather wasnt looking that great but we went anyway cache was easily found, albeit after a bit of a scramble & after reading some previous logs to figure out the meaning of the clue more than pleased to add this 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS #5,583 for Us!
TFTC!! It was a well hidden cache, and it took us a while to find it. It was really fun, thanks.
Thank you for the cache. Out on the trail with PomTom44. Hopefully someone is able to adopt the trail as will be a shame to see it archived. Great series of caches.
Day 1 of our two day adventure doing the Rail Trail with BearCache #4Total found so far: 4Another good hide and findNothing really to report with this cache
On another ride with Pork and Puha. Beautiful winter day. 2nd one of the day. Tftc!
Out and about with the shoebs family once again.A nice, quick, easy, find, grab, sign, and flee.TFTC
Well i found this cache way back in April and 3 months later i went to log some new caches and discovered a backlog of drafts i hadnt saved properly. I did a trip to Thames with a friend and stopped to look for this cache along the way. Oops wrong fence to start with so had to clamber over the fence and back again twice. I learnt some french today. The voodoo tramp, Team Datt and going geocaching 2017 visited this cache. Thankyou for the cache
Visiting family for Easter and what's a better way to spend time with grandson. As climbing over a wooden fence was involved, grandson got that job. Didn't take him long to find cache. Once I signed log, he placed cache back as found. Cheers
Considering the huge amount of rain in area the cache is still in good condition. Log pictured as my pen didn't work! Tftc
TaurusSix and I are in New Zealand for a three weeks holiday. We love New Zealand and have had lots of wonderful experiences here previously. This time we have decided to focus our attention on three destinations for one week each, all in the North Island. The Coromandel Peninsula, Waiheke Island and The Bay of Isles. We are very mindful of not focusing all our attention of the holiday on geocaching, however it will still play an important part. We are deliberately focusing on caches that involve some walking, great views, interesting attractions , history and general points of interest. And this will all happen in between exploring, swimming , walking, doing touristy things and relaxing .

Day 1 - We picked up our hire car from Auckland Airport and headed immediately South then East in the general direction of the Coromandel Peninsula collecting caches at intervals along the way. Before we did though we picked up the virtual cache in the International Arrivals Terminal. We particularly liked elements of the Hauraki Rail Trail , Thames and the drive across to the far side of the Peninsula.

This was our fourth cache find of the day after walking across the bridge we continued the extra four hundred metres to this HRT cache. At gz there was a whole paddock of cattle and they were rather curious as to what we were doing. Luckily cache found quickly. Thanks for the cache vectis

Quick find, but the log was sopping wet. It's in dire need of replacement. Found with Reny90
Today Mrs Biggles and I are driving from Auckland to Taupo, on our way home to Nelson. We took a slight detour to visit some friends near Thames and found a few caches along the way. Found my way to GZ OK and found the remains of the cache as per recent finders. TFTC, Biggles.
Missed it at the beginning but said would collect when on way back. So that is what we did. Thanks for the hide, looks like film cannister body is missing, but the lid lives on. With rustynz and littleblackbird1 doing a bit of the hrt trail
With rebel98 and littleblackbird1 exploring this section of the HRT trail to Miranda (well not that far!)
We had trouble finding the start, as we were near the roundabout, crossed over the road, and was trying to figure out the connections to the cycle way, as we were now have to cycle on the busy road. In hindsight we should have driven further along the road (we were parked opposite the Hunting & Fishing store) and parked by the old Kopu bridge. Then it was an easy cycle onto the path and across the new Kopu bridge.
The above does not really expain why this was not the first cache we could find. Sorry to say, was focusing on finding the start, that missed this one completely, so instead of cycling back, said I would make time to find at the end of the cycle. So that is what I did
After finding the cache and walking back to the bike, my first cyclist passed me by and asked if I needed any help! all good here, and off I cycled to the car.
A fun find and a little cycle adventure in the sun today. Thanks vectis for your hide, happy to at last turn this one into a smiley

Last find for the day with rustynz and rebel98. Time to tie on the bikes, and head back to the hotpools for a swim.
Thanks for the hide vectis, a fun way to end the day with a smiley

End of the trail for us and quickly made the find! Now to head back to Paeroa & find the ones we have left to break up the trip back!! TFTC
I'm not sure why I didn't do this one when I did the rest of the trail, but decided to knock it off today.
Found the remains of the cache as a previous cacher had left it, and signed the log.
Thanks for setting this up

Found the container lid on the ground and the log in the grass, but no container body. Have rehid the cache in the 'rocky' location in a plastic bag - was the only vessel we had of nay use. Found with DeadRockFlower on our bike ride, one of many today. Tnlnsl. TFTC!!
Found lid and log with Kiwterm. Left in a plastic bag. Sorry we didn't have a container with us.
Cache has had damage. Found log and lid of container but couldn't find the actual container. Put all in a bag and tucked it away safely.
Searched for a good 5 minutes or so; a pile of rocks was obvious, but no cache was revealed; decided to abandon the search as it was starting to get late in the day.
TFTC, we did a quick stop over at Kopu Bridge and went in search forgot my pen so couldn't sign the log was a good fun find!
I made a nice quick find here and like others I didn't quite get what the hint meant
Roadtrip time, day 6.
I have used the Easter weekend combined with taking 4 days leave this week to get in a 9-day driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.
Having travelled down from Auckland to the Coromandel yesterday, it was time now to reverse course and head back up to Northland. By tonight I would be in Waipu, but I had a full days caching before I could rest. So having spent last night in my tent staying at the Te Puru Holiday park, it was time to leave the Coromandel but there's always time for one last cache...
The co-ords were accurate although the Hint was unhelpful, but it was a quick find for me nonetheless thanks to geosense. I encountered no issues with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before the whole lot was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for setting up this cache.

Parked in Komi and wandered along here. Found using geo sense- didn’t understand hint! TFTC
The Seagnoid had us parking way over there and walking along the road. This road was very busy and no footpath so a little dodgy. Quick snag and tag at GZ. Now to get out of here without causing an accident.
Day 5 - Tuesday 22 December -Paritu Bay, Coromandel, Thames and back to Coromandel by dark Left Zara resting in Coromandel while we went exploring with Toby. Loved Driving Creek Railway today.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

I got a bit confused as to the approaches to this cache, I ended up parking us on the side road and then walking along the main road to the cache. Bit of a dodgy walk along a motorway (although it is not a motorway, but it had that feel about it). Nice easy find, at least!
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Heading up to Northland to meet the kids for the Christmas holidays. Detoured for an ice cream in Kopu as it was such a hot day. Parked up and walked to 4 nearby caches. No problems finding this one. Will have to come back sometime with our bikes and do the trail. Thanks for the smiley.
found it but didn’t understand the hint :// took the cool rock, left a key ring )
1st cache for the trip around coromandel with hoofnt. I managed to make this way harder than it should have been. TFTC
Down in Thames for the day for work, and we had time to grab a couple of caches. This was the first cache for the day and was spotted on our approach. Thank you for replacing the log, which we were the first to sign our names on.
First cache found for months. Had tried to find this cache previously but it was missing. Good to get a find at last. TFTC
The Hauraki Rail Trail is closed while the Covid 19 rahui is in place. Anyone geocaching during this time is putting themselves and others at risk by handling the containers, stash and logs. So this cache is disabled until this present emergency ends. I reserve the right to disable any logs dated after the lockdown started.
Cache needs repair. Out and about with family. Always good to in the fresh air. T4tc
A quick find on the way home after a nice weekend away. I found the cache quicker than I expected, considering there were so many possible locations. I thought I'd been caught by a Muggle for a second, but it turns out that cow's coughs sound just the same as human coughs!
No idea about the clue but easily found using geo-sense. Thanks Vectis for our lovely ride and caches today.
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
We walked there from the bridge and I spoted the cache very quickly ..Thanks from Swiss guy too
After finding some caches and exploring the trail between Waitakaruru and Pipiroa we were keen to see more so decided to go for a walk along this section.
The cache was quickly located despite us not understanding the clue but our friend google has now enlightened us.
Great hide, thanks vectis.

22431 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Pauanui to Auckland. On several spots we stopped to find some caches and to enjoy the lookout views. Half day was sunny, half day was rain. Great variations today.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Several were with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper, where when it was wet paper it logs fantastic.
vectis TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

Our third visit to this beautiful country and this time for a family wedding in Tutukaka. After that we will travel south exploring and finding some caches along the way.
Signed and replaced all of them as we found them.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches and keeping the game alive.

Today we had a trip from Coromandel to Whangarei on the plan, thereby visiting many other locations near the road and coast and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long with only partly some small clouds.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to 'vectis' for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 'HRT Kopu end (Hauraki)'. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.
