TFTC. WE made the calculations earlier in the day, but something seemed wrong in the calculations. It seems the timetable may have been altered since the cache was put out. Chatting to a recent finder at the Evening event we were given some fresh information that enabled us to to complete our mission. Thanks for the cache highrod.
I was in Ballarat for the day to get out of the Melbourne rat race and to find a few caches.
I parked at the East end of Sturt St and makes up the main road checking out the area.
A grand old building is the old post office and after making a mess of WP1 I got a slight prod on what to do so I soon had a set of coords that seemed ok.
Off to WP2 and my coords were spot on and I found what was required and soon headed off to GZ.
Found my way to GZ and the barking dog kept me on my toes.
Had what was required to open the cache and I soon added my name to the log.
Took the TB to move it on.
Thanks highrod TFTC.

Caching in the area we picked up a few caches in the area and this was one of them.
Completed this letterbox today, all stages were completed leading us to GZ. Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

This letterbox was a tricky one, at the posted it took me sometime to workout what I was looking for, a PAF was used.
This morning I headed out to make the find of the cache, with a loud dog near by I tried to be as quite as possible. A cool container that fitted the theme.
A great day out today, I headed from Ballarat to Mt gambier by some funky route, well any normal geocaching route really. With 4 events lined up with one being a CITO, they made cursor for when I needed to be at certain locations otherwise it was free roam. Overall a good day out with nearly 500km driven and almost 50 caches found

Yay found this evening. Up visiting friends enjoying the weather. Stamp wasn’t working amazingly but still super cute xxx TFTC
I began this one a year or two back but noting that WP2 was a little further afield I promptly forgot about it.
This week I redid my maths and went to WP2 where after doing the new maths headed off to an unlikely looking spot among houses.
However on arrival I was in a tiny reserve and a final field puzzle awaited. Having gone to school in this town I had no probs here either.
A favourite point for the work put in and right now is a great time to get a fav point too!
Cheers

Wow! Absolutely loved this. Really cool cache and puzzle. So glad to have found this one. Found everything pretty straight forwArd really. Dropped a trackable at gz. A huge eight legged friend was guarding the box! Ewww. Reggie showed off his jumping skills on the way to gz. Half way through hottest 100 countdown and half way through day out caching. A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache guys. Love your work. We signed the logbook. Warning this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise.
Found on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
This was a tough letterbox! But a good one.
Thanks Highrod for the cache. A favourite point from me.

Found whilst touring Geelong & Ballarat areas between Xmas & New Year with Freddo, Team Waldron and e.gregory1 - we've signed as F.E.T.T.
Some pretty hot days but great scenery and good co-ords & caches hides made for an enjoyable trip

Find #1920 for me. Found just before 3pm while visiting Ballarat from Bendigo. I originally planned to be at the Parkville Mega today but went there yesterday instead so changed my plans for today. I'd collected the information required to calculate GZ in previous visits to Ballarat. I had some trouble finding the timetable at the Post Office, but eventually found most of the info at one of the bus stops and what wasn't there I found online. All was good from then on including the final hide which couldn't be missed! Because I've had this cache on my watch-list for so long, I was well aware of the logs reporting barking dogs in the area so tried to be as quiet as I could with the retrieval, signing and replacement. All was quiet until I started to return to the car and heard the loud dog bark not far away. Thanks for this fantastic cache highrod which deserves a favorite point for the great effort you've put into it!
Started in dusk after the GIFF event with OHC and found in darkness 30 minutes later, after almost giving up at WP2 when one of the numbers at WP1 didn’t make sense, but then I spotted something that matched and soon we were on our way to GZ , great final for a letterbox cache , thanks

After attending the GIFF event in Ballarat, we enjoyed running around finding the clues for this LB. Nice one!

This was a fun cache to do today until we got to the end and were not quite certain which way to approach it from. The near by dog wanted to talk to us through the fence. SL TFTC
Tonight we decided to go on an adventure we headed off from Ballarat at 9:00pm On Saturday 1/9/18 and found our last cache at 9:30am on Sunday 2/9/18. We had a total of 23 finds on our adventure this cache was 21st of the 23 finds.
Loved this one and sorry to all for the barking dogs on a Sunday morning
Time found - 7:24am
Date - 2/9/18

I woke up and saw that a new cache had already been published
Hang on, I'm getting a decided case of deja vu here [?] This can't be right as I was only there doing a multi 3 days ago[?]
This one was a much harder decision though as I'd already spent my already borrowed fuel money 3 days ago but since it's now a new month.... well suffice to say I borrowed MORE fuel money Rex and I went out for a drive [^]
My multi cache blues are sadly still alive and well as it took me about 3 workings out to get a decent looking GZ at the 1st cache of the day
After getting the 1st cache find at 10.38am (FTF too ) we then cached on until the last cache find at 10.43pm and arrived home at midnight after finding 10 caches for the day [^] No idea who was the most tired [|)]: Rex or me[?]

Although I was the driving AlphaDeltaIndigo and BoatieTim around I was a true passenger on this one. Someone had the finals for this and the three of us met ahomburg, SteMicMitSar, nirgalagrin and Ausyowie at GZ. With the noise the barking dog was making we quickly had the outer container open and were soon signing the log beore replacing in the sistema which went into the outer container.

I had been looking forward to today and a trip to Ballarat for a while. It had been some time since I had visited, so today was the day. Up at 6.30am and was out the door by 6:45. I started the caching day at Mount Beckworth Scenic reserve and along with a couple of events, finished the day off with a couple of night caches. It was so much colder here, compared to the balmy 7 degrees at home when I left.
Well, time for 1 last cache before leaving Ballarat (Until Next time), much later than l had hoped for, but hey, there is always going to be 1 more It took 2 goes at opening this container and the pressure of barking dogs, but we got there.
Many thanks to highrod for the cache. TNLN.

Sometimes it's a matter of who you're travelling with... One of our number had the final coordinates, and as we were close by, we figured we'd make a visit. Just as we arrived from one direction, another car load approached from the other.
I'd already guessed what we needed to access the log, it was just a matter of asking Mr. Google.
Thanks, highrod... Loved the special contents of your letter box.
A fitting end to a successful day's caching. 30 finds for the day, my 99th and 100th events, and the peskiest square on the P81 grid. Oh, and caching with a great bunch of locals and visitors. Thanks for the wonderful time, Ballarat.
Now all that remains is the drive home... Good thing I've stocked up on good podcasts to listen to.
***
With a CITO and a Parkville precursor event in Ballarat this afternoon being great incentives to head west, a full day of Geocaching was planned. Some of that plan even happened...
Visiting a cemetery on the edge of a town not far away was highest on the list, and I was relieved to get the next step in a long ongoing challenge completed at last.
A taste of Christmas in July followed, with n0w0rries +wife. We got to #12 together before it was time to head for the CITO, then the other meet-up, which happened to be my 99th and 100th event type attendances.
Paying the favour forward, I accompanied ahomburg, stemicmitsar and Ausyowie back to the Christmas tree, then brought the total of those to 15 before dinner at the Lakeside.
Then it was off for a couple of night caches, the first being Frankie the Feather Glider's Nocturnal Tour, which finally garnered the missing 3.5/3.5 square on my P81 grid. And the second, Canadian Code Cracker, which almost defeated us, but perseverance and cunning won out in the end.

I did the homework for this quite some time ago and had previously visited GZ without the 'code' and with dogs barking didn't hag around.
Today I was fully prepared soon had the log signed with not a barking dog in earshot.
No sign of the listed trackable in the cache.
Thanks Highrod

Found at 3:18 PM GAFF5 on a "get our Terrain average up to 1.8 weekend". Which means no Terrain caches below 2.0 for a while
Now this was a massive stuff up let me tell you - but it ended up in one of those serendipitous situations that you would not believe could be possible!
We struggled to get the information at WP 1 - there is no longer any reference to Creswick and we are pretty sure that the route numbers have been altered. Anyway we persevered to WP 2 and we then found a likely spot about 60 metres away. We gathered the information and then headed off to GZ which looked a bit odd - but we again persevered. Having decided on a particular route - who do we meet up with! It was the Co's themselves!! Now how lucky is that!
We were then escorted to the cache and were able to open it up with some assistance - but the best part of all of this exercise was that we then were invited to a lovely meeting with coffee and to learn about the renovation that the Co's have conducted - just fantastic meeting all round!
Thanks Highrod.

The Sewer Rats snuck over the boarder in to Mexico, with the Hologram,s.

We wandered around and gathered the ifo need for WPT1.
Info for wpt2 was easier to gather.

Well for my first ever Post Box cache i had fun. Took a bit to find info for the first WP but some thinking outside the square got us over the line. Found WP 2 and had better luck with the info needed. Arrived at GZ and GPS zeroed in on the prize. I chose this one to start the journey of my first ever TB. TFTC

Ballarat has dicided to change all the bus numbers. So I'll have to rework the multi.
Oh phew, finally got the smiley. It has been a saga of just getting one bit, loosing it, having to redo it again. Found the letterbox recently but couldn't move the tumblers so had to leave without the smiley. Then today, the heavy rain came just as I pulled up. Well, I went after it anyway. Came home wet but happy. TFTC and the adventure. Fav pt.

The geo family had planned a half day out in Ballarat to have a picnic, play and help out at the local CITO. We looked for a few caches to do while we where there and the letterboxes were the chosen ones. A little work was done previously which helped us with lack of time. I mucked up the numbers as I was a little confused at first and we searched for about 20 minutes in the wrong location. Finally made it to the cache only to get stuck again with the code. We tried so many before having an idea and finally the cache was able to be stamped. Stamped and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this letter box cache Highrod**
**Cache container and log in good order**

I have been working on this cache for several weeks as i haven't had time to do the whole thing in one go. So with a few minutes up my sleeve i have finally been able to get to the GZ.
Not sure how it happened but my coordinates had me in the middle of a court at the northern end of a reserve so i parked nearby anyway and went searching. To my great delight i came across a letterbox with that all too familiar logo on it. ..Happy Days!
So, with the code not being what i thought it would be after sighting the padlock, it was quickly worked out when i saw what type of code was required after all.
Quickly signed the log, admired your stamp and moved on. Well done on a great letterbox cache , only the location of WP1 caused some confusion but Dr Google came to the rescue. Favorite point added.

Came back to correctly log a trackable I'd logged wrongly a week ago. All should be correct now - good luck on your journey TB!
What a lovely cache, well worth the visit! I particularly loved the stamp set that came with this one, I really like it when I see a stamp that is not a smiley-face one from the two-dollar store, and this one was in another league entirely. It was super hot by this time and this almost ended up being the last cache for the day, but we soldiered on for a few more! TFTC Highrod
SanguineDragonflye and I spent the day caching in and around Ballarat in what is fast becoming our yearly hunt. Letterbox Hybrids are not quite as common back home as here, so I grabbed the opportunity. It was a tricky one to start with as we couldn't find the required information easily. There's more than one way to skin a cat though, so I used my 21st century skills and came up trumps. The second part was easiest, and I'll admit to showing off a little bit as I'd already well and truly (logically) guessed the combination at GZ. Living around here in early life has its benefits. Cheers!

Following the Christmas Breakfast-Ballarat Event, this is one of the caches we found before heading home. This cache certainly highlights some interesting aspects of Ballarat's rich and diverse history. At GZ we had the pleasure of catching up with the CO as we stamped our name in the log

Stopped with Jamin to log this find this afternoon while we are in town to watch (me) and race (him) the triathlon tomorrow. Quick find for him cause I had done all the hard work. Had to get some help locating the wretched timetable. Very visible cache at GZ which allowed for the quick find. A moment of panic where I thought I was supposed to have done something with the numbers to open the padlock but thankfully a read of the description and things were soon sorted (Jamin came in useful after all!) Thanks for the hide.
Nice little multiple stop around Ballarat. Well thought out and planned. Even picked up a trackable for djl77. Tftc
in Ballarat for the first Xmas function, and took in the Archibald Prize before getting down to some caching an enjoyable day with the weather remarkably good for Ballarat Thanks to all the COs for their great effort
We must be stupid out of towners. We couldn't find the timetable either. This one has lots of favorite points so it would have been great to give it a go.
Thanks
Thanks

Mildura last week, Ballarat this week, at least traveeling about with work gives me a chance to go caching in different locations (although only 1 hr from home this time).
Out caching tonight with friends, FMS4 and TAJBently, both who are terrible at logging their finds online!
I must admit most of the work was done here with the final part being the stumbling block. A few discussions and possilbe solutions to the problem and we were out the door to check. Luckily, we were only at GZ a short time before we managed to get the goods and be off again. Both cache and log in good condition. Thanks highrod for the adventure

This one was done pretty much straight away and was not hard to find at all. Once at GZ it didn't want to play the game so we left it, made contact with the owner to confirm what we thought was happening and come back to sign the log another night.
Today was the first caching 'day out' I'd had since the Melbourne MEGA in November. Geoff and I teamed up to head out to Ballarat and surrounding areas with the view of doing few but very good caches. We certainly weren't disappointed by the caches we found! We firstly joined in the large group assault on the Ballarat drain caches with a group formed by Doug on Facebook. After that fantastic challenge, we made our way to the event in Ballan, before finally attempting the Miner's Right near Lal Lal. A fantastic day overall. This was the 7th of 12 finds for today.
Another cache we did as we attempted to find some of the best Ballarat has to offer. After a little bit of initial confusion at WP1, we were on our way. Soon enough we arrived at the final box, and wasn't it a nice one!
Thanks highrod!

Oh dear...I couldn't even find the bus timetable so called it quits for the day. Lovely building though; one of the grandest in Ballarat.
Big Fail for us today, so we are off to Bird World down in the Mt Helen area to chill out.
Thanks for the hunt.
Thanks for the hunt.
On a caching day trip up from Melbourne we planned a few "must do" caches while exploring the area, and this was one of them. After quickly making our way throught WP1 & WP2 we arrived at GZ... After trying every possible combination we still couldn't come up with the right set of numbers. A quick msg was sent to the CO asking for assistance, and it wasn't long until we had the cache open and were signing the log. Thanks to highrod for a great mystery and pointing us in the right direction. Favourite point from us.

We came out to Ballarat today to attend an event at Zagame's and had this letterbox cache on our radar to find. Although our first attempt got us to the right GZ area, we were struggling with the lock and had to make the decision to abandon. Fortunately, some cachers at the event gave us a handy hint which helped with the lock problem, (didn't really end up being a problem) and after we returned when the event was over, the lock was soon opened and the smiley earned. This is a GREAT cache and we are awarding it a well deserved favourite point. TFTC
A day out in Ballarat to attend our first CITO, we made a day of it and grabbed as many cache types as are available in Ballarat. A great day had with becca85, neisha07, chan02 & WonderWomanW.W. TFTC

25/4/15 in the convoy of Team Crackers, Alansee, Maccamob and micaparamedic we gathered the clues and after a short time we had the stamp in hand.
This log was written in August 15 and the story of this cache continues.
At the last Ballarat event 1/8 we were out and about in the evening knocking off a few caches. We looked at this cache and nothing really clicked other than the need to collect clues and do the sums. I did mention once or twice that this seemed familiar however on a cold and dark night things look different and when the cache was located the penny dropped.
Our thanks to Highrod for the letterbox cache, we loved it that much we did it twice.

Found with becca85. With her doing most of the ground work I tagged along on my first letterbox adventure. Never done one before and the stamp was pretty cool. Thanks becca85 for showing me this. TFTC.
Staying a few days in Ballarat on our tour of Australia.
Boy it is very cold here this week. Maximum of 10degrees. From Perth WA that is VERRRRYYYYY COLD. [8)]
We started our morning in the CBD then moved back towards our caravan park. Bit of a mixed bag out and about today but being soooo cold we didn't really stick around to do too much tourist stuff. We were frightened of being frozen to the paving.
We love letterbox caches they are one of our favourites. Decided where to park, walked to GZ and got sprung! We were debating about what was needed to open the cache we had the right guess just a bit dyslexic!! Still took about 6 goes to get the lock to be nice to us.
Nice cache. Have a FelixII Fave point. Left a pathtag.

11/07/2015 09:39 3 of 4. This mystery was started last night where i collected clues to WP2. I confess I didn't read the description properly and found myself looking for a cache at WP2. Once I checked the detaiols (as Carl had) It was very clear where we supposed to be and what we were supposed to do. We collected the last numbers and got the co-ords to GZ. Arrived in the very cold rain at the reserve and made our way to G where we were stumped by a misbeahving lock. Both our hands were too cold

Found it with Landau351 on our short weekend visit to Ballarat and Ararat. We spent most of the weekend very cold and very wet, with numb fingers.
Wow, just wow. We figured out the first waypoint on Friday evening (wet and freezing) in Ballarat, and then went to WP2 in the morning. We were confused at WP2, but all became clear when we actually read the description (!). Then on to WP3. When we were there the heavens opened and our fingers were too cold to get to the logbook. We needed some very very very direct asssistance from the CO. Wow, just wow.
Thanks for the cache, and here is a well deserved fav point.

A nice quick find as we were driving around town avoiding the rain this morning. I love a letterbox cache and this one didn't disappoint.
Found during the ANZAC weekend.
This had been solved for months, so it was good to make the find.
Loved the stamp and the Letterbox process so a fav added.
Also great final container!

After The Central Vic get together this morning we headed off with maccamob, micaparamedic, Alansee and The Coffees.
We headed off to the Post Office which it turns out that we were going to see quite a bit of before this weekend was over and then started collecting clues.
Once we had the final co-ords we headed off to a place we recognised from previous visits and the GPSr took us to the great hide.
We added our names to the log which was just like writing a short letter.
We attempted to use the stamp but unfortunately didn't have a lot of luck bit it did keep us amused whilst maccamob was trying
Thanks for a fun cache , a favourite from us.

Found by Mary & David, in company with Team Crackers, The Coffees, Alansee and micaparamedic (logged as CCAMM), at 1420. We were in convoy with The Coffees, Team Crackers, Alansee and micaparamedic, so we signed with the acronym CCAMM. Guess we now know where Chez Highrod is. Our thanks to highrod.
As chance would have it, wp2 of this cache was around the corner from our accommodation for the weekend's events, so I stopped on the way to get the info for GZ. Once there we all had a smile and did the deed, thanks highrod. Found with a number of others.
Dropped by to stamp my book, as I didn't have a book for letterbox caches when I found this one in December.
Ballarat was our next stop on our meandering route from Adelaide to Melbourne to catch the boat back to Tassie. We spent a day caching in the area.
We had started this cache during a previous visit to Ballarat but lost our way at one point when some information at a waypoint had changed or was missing (cannot remember which one now). Contact with the CO got us back on track. This evening we finished the data collection and went to look for the cache. The location surprised us but the coordinates were accurate. The cache container was most appropriate for the type of cache. the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for an enjoyable cache highrod.

Tried to log last night but either some of the Hamsters at caching headquarters had pulled a sickie or they had some industrial problems as the site suffered some problems.
Today all must be sorted at headquarters as the site is working normally.
After the first Pi Event it was down to some serious caching and this guy was on my list.
Having worked out where I had to go and after grabbing a large cup of coffee it was time to head off.
Always great to add one of these to your finds as they are far a few between finds. Gathered the required info and off to find the treasure.
Like Riddell I was a little on the short side but the biggest problem was the lock which requires a little TLC as it is very stiff. Graphite will fix the problem. Other than that enjoyed this cache.
Thanks highrod for placing this cache.

Early this morning I headed to Ballarat with Stemicmitsar for the purpose of finding some challenge caches we had both qualified for as well as a desirable D/T rating and some sundry caches.
A letterbox cache is irresistible and this one was no exception. Once we'd found a car park, no mean feat just after lunch time on a Saturday, we proceeded to the start co-ords on foot. With the information needed to calculated WP#2 gathered, we headed back to the car and then to WP#2. Here we could read what we needed without leaving the car but when we saw where these co-ords would take us, we began to doubt our calculations just a little. Nonetheless, we headed for GZ and our prize but when we saw what was in store for us at GZ, we realised that this was no Park 'N Grab. A re-reading of the cache page was performed and then a few ideas before the significance of what lay before us dawned. From that point onwards, it was a simple matter to access the cache and with the log signed, we headed for the next.
Thank-you to highrod for placing this geocache

Today biggles1024 and I headed out to Ballarat for a day of caching with a number of caches with significant value on the hit list.
This was another one from the hit list as it is always good to find a letterbox cache, it did involve a bit more travel than expected but thats good.
After collecting the required info at the first two wps. we headed to our GZ. When we arrived, we thought that we may have made a mistake as this little reserve seemed to be very empty of anything, but headed to our coordinates anyway, once there it was then obvious that we were in the correct location.
We then had to find the code, after a bit of a look in the wrong part of the cache page, Mark then spotted what was needed, it was applied and we then had access to the logbook which was then signed.
Thanks to highrod for placing this cache.

Grabbed all the information needed during stages of the day. After picking up KiddyCat from school headed out to gz. The code was clear enough and the log was signed. Cache in good order. Fav point for an interesting and well presented cache.

Having solved the steps of this excellent letterbox multi a few months ago, we came back today, in the company of Snap Happy, to finally leave the mark of our stamp in the logbook and take an imprint of the beautiful Chinese stamp in ours.
We enjoyed every part of it and are happily leaving a favourite point! Thanks for the effort that went into this cache.

Off on a morning caching run before heading back to Warrnambool. I did most of the groundwork for this a month or so ago. I had got as far as WP2 and worked out the coordinates for GZ, but time had got the better of me and it was dark, so I left the last bit for another time, which was today. I had spotted the padlock code almost straight away when I first started this cache. TFTC highrod, this was the first letterbox cache I used my new stamp in. I loved your stamp, but I didn't have anything to use it on.
On the way to a Doctors appt. I needed 4 caches. This one ended up being one of them. Lots of numbers and a bit of distance and the cache was found, with time left for just 1 more. TFTC highrod!
We did all the ground work for this one today, in the company of Kinkell1. Really enjoyed the stages and the tasks, as well as GZ.
However, being in Ballarat in the other car, not our usual caching wings, meant we did not have our stamp and stamp book with us. Will come back at the next opportunity and complete this one.

We left Adelaide for Ballarat for a few days caching with Team Scoobster. Mr Tardis loves a letterbox cache and we did this one over two days.
Mr Tardis and Mr Scoobster did the finding of the final location - a nice one indeed. A favourite point for your efforts.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache highrod.

This was a saga n many ways. I started this with bogonghazy after the event but time and weather was against us so we only completed WP1.
I was up here yesterday to find a couple of other caches and completed this one before we met up. I nearly had to abandon signing the log because the lock would not co-operate. PAF to confirm I was using the right numbers and then one more try. Just kept fiddling more.
The stamp is a beauty. Not what I was expecting. I was given one from Vietnam and it didn't look like that. Very impressive.
TFTC and the fun highrod.
A fav.

did not take us too long at the waypoints to get the required info... difficult part was finding parking
found the cache high and dry

The puzzle for this cache has you thinking, the more you read it, the more confused you get. But then all of a sudden the answer reveals itself.
Well after being lead astray down a somewhat muddy track, we finally got onto the right road that lead us to this hide and it was good to discover a genuine 'letterbox' cache.

I worked out the location of WP2 a week ago but needed to visit it to get the co ords for the final GZ. in the end we were all pleased with the quality of the cache.
it even got Mrs Tyred n Cranky talking about having one of these types of caches back home.
