probably wont get up this way for awhile, will resubmit of we get close.

Oops, didn't realise this one is disabled... but did see the string of DNFs so only gave it a cursory look on the way past. Now wondering if a tricksy ultra camo hide or indeed strewn aside inadvertently by the weedwhackage? Very Happy

16-Dec-17
A number of DNF's...will get up to the Island over the summer to replace...meanwhile the clue for the bonus is on the bonus page...

11-Dec-17
Seems there has been some cutting of the grass.
No tracé of the cache.

09-Dec-17
I had been hoping to collect the majority of the clues for the Bonus cache today - however this cache completely eluded me & so I felt there was no real point in continuing on the Pateke loop- I decided to head further south and leave the top half of the island for another day.
Just no idea of where to look in the "haystack" for this cache. Grass well mown around the hint object and for a good radius.

22-Nov-17
We searched a while but we didn't find it.

A fine day today and as it happened we had a skipper and a bist to do some research out here
Walking the island is spectacular but I wasn't aware about its popularity, well it's worth to come and spend the day, hiking swimming fishing and much more to do

Walking up and up and upper, I got here a bit huffing and puffing, but hey, that view plus a cache is a fab excuse to indulge the beauty around one

Well found
Great to be here

rustynz tells me I need to catch up with all my logging Big Grin

Was at an Island overnight camp with a group of Westies and non Westies (rustynz, gorby, FMZ, Aidan29, Jag50). Sorry for the generic log, but am very behind. Thanks for all the hides, and maintaining your caches.

#707 11:23 am The hole in the rock has been added to my bucket list as it seems there is no angle to truly see it from shore. Another find along the track on a beautiful and lovely day. TFT(post)C.

#2670 Found as part of Team Uru. I became an 'honourary Westie' for the day and joined the group on their adventure around the island. Piercy always looked like a Scotty dog to me growing up and so I can't shake that image. TFTC!

04-Mar-17
Really enjoying the cliff top views as I head along with 7 others. Trying not to give much attention to the sore muscles, not long to go now to finish for the day. Not sure who in our group found the cache.

04-Mar-17
We had settled into our campsite at Cable Bay, tents set up and lunch had before setting off around 1pm to do the clockwise circuit around the island. Boy, I did not realise how many hills the island had!

Our group consisted of Gorbygorbachov, Jag50, rustynz, Rebel98, funkymunkyzone, skaga and myself. We signed the log as Team Uru to save on time and space.

04-Mar-17
The camp site seems so far away! Cable Bay far away Big Grin

At last there is Piercy in the distance, and to those that do not know who or what this is:

Motu Kōkako, also known as Piercy Island or "The Hole In The Rock”, is at the very northern tip of Rakaumangamanga (Cape Brett) in the Bay of Islands.

Another hide in an majestical location, thanks for the cache Smile

The log today was signed "Team Uru" : Rebel98, Aiden29, Gorbygorbachov, Jag50, rustynz, FMZ and skaga.

Our group Team Uru consisted of Gorbygorbachov, Aiden29, rustynz, Rebel98, funkymunkyzone, skaga and ourselves. After coming down all those stairs, we spied the post from the distance. Cache was quickly spotted.

A last minute decision yesterday to head up for some caching and camping on Urupukapuka Island, and it was a good one. Great weather and great company and some fun and strenuous hiking around the island. More great views on our way around the island. TFTC

I was so focussed on getting up the hill I forgot about this cache. I decided to take the same route back to grab this little guy. Tftc.

22-Jan-17
Today we made a cruise through the bay of islands and stayed a few hours on Urupukapuka. This was one of the caches we've found on that beautiful island.

We decided to push on and have a go at it even though it hadn't been found since February on the off chance we could see something that others missed. Totally worth it as the views of the steep cliffs and coves off to the right (heading toward the cache from the ferry base) are just amazing. The pohutukawas were ablaze and the steep cliffs stunning.

Got to GZ and we could see why it might be tricky, the grass has been mown around the hint item which means there weren't a lot of spots you could hide a cache. We took a load off and had a good look and there it was - won't give it away but it is there to be found. Very pleased as this completes my requirements for a challenge cache I have had my eye on in Christchurch.

Thanks for bringing us here and placing this cache. Very beautiful place.

21-Apr-16
Couldn't find this one. Thought there was only one place it could be but a micro is always tricky. Oh well, we have to come back anyway as we haven't got time to get them all today. A lovely walk Smile

07-Feb-16
A one-day stay at this beautiful island. Hiking along the trails we found several caches. While Joz was resting, Har ran to this one. Easy find. Thanks for hiding.

Today we had the whole day to explore Urupukapuka Island, catching the 9am ferry out, and returning on the 7pm ferry.
There have been spectacular views of the cliffs along the track we have been walking clockwise around the island to reach here. Another bonus number added to our collection. Thanks.

On a rainy, but amazing day. I logged all possible caches with visa96. Thanks for a nice day on a beautiful island!

Found on a nice Long walk around the island on Christmas Day. We were staying on the island for 2 days during our Christmas kayak trip. Cache was only found due to the very precise hint. Finding a micro in tall is normally not easy. Splendid view from GZ. Cache container is pretty nasty on the outside, but dry on the inside. Linea first thought it was a snail.
Mums (snack): Beef jerky

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.

We were staying out at Urupukapuka for the Cable Bay event and took a long walk around the island on an exceptionally humid day, together with RussellSchool, tikitour, Tiki tour and Riser 5. Despite the humidity, it was a great walk around the island with lots of fantastic views! Another group FTF! TFTC!

Another Co FTF with the group out after the Cable Bay Event. I think the views just keep getting better...is that even possible? TFTC
