I was up on the Sunshine Coast for a quick paddle today to grab this cache. Nice big tide with a beautiful day to support me. Cache found and signed then I headed back to home.Jank13 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community
A quick paddle to GZ from the park at the end of snowdrop ave. Cache easily found & signed. Signs of the cache container being flooded as what log paper there was, was falling apart and I wasnt prepared to replace.sorry.
Loved this cache. Unlike every other finder, we wanted to yak to this one so we did. Parked at a great playground with an awesome climbing tree and launched. A few minutes later we were at GZ (with a keen fisherman who was luckily totally absorbed in his hobby) Cache was soon found and scribbles added to logbook. Thanks for the fun cache.
I was glad to see this one was found recently. Got the kayaks out paddled 2.5 k's founded but while being distracted we're looking for it one of the kayaks floated away from the bank. I had to go under a rescue mission as hubby did not want to swim. Dog enjoyed the morning
E_Smiley and Duppers had done their homework and this was a short walk with just an easy mud crossing. Shazzar66 made a quick find. Thanks jank13 and happy caching
This was our target cache for the morning before attending Wesso’s pre-Christmas event. Along for the cache was E-Smiley, Beardman75, Shazzar66 and me. I had been here before looking for another cache, so was semi-familiar with the area. I recce’d the area yesterday to work out the best access point o the cache, as we didn’t really want to pull the kayaks out.
Nice and easy walk for the most part, except for a short walk over a muddy, rocky creek bed, which us girls brought our gumboots for, because we didn’t know how deep the mud was. We intentionally came at low tide. Cache was found easily by Shazzar66 about 30 seconds AFTER she exclaimed, “Found it”, as she does (and which I fall for most of the time).
Thanks for the adventure. TFTC

Been wanting to find this cache to complete the Loopy Year Challenge. A plan was carefully hatched so that we'll arrive at wesso's community event clean and fresh. Had so many parking options in my map, eventually we opted for the shortest and easiest route. 6km one way paddle for 1 cache wasn't the favourite option obviously. (That's a hint for more kayak caches along the way! )
Thank you for the cache jank13. Thanks to Duppers, Beardman75, and shazzar66 for the fun and company and AtTheLakeHouse for the advice.

Out caching this afternoon with smallwombat, he had asked me yesterday if I had wanted to get a couple in the area whilst he replaced Dingaling, and I promptly accepted his offer. This was one of the two main caches that were targeted today, and this took quite the adventure to get to GZ! Dragging our bikes through the bush to where we determined that no muggles would be keen to nab them. Once we ditched the bikes for walking, it was up and down tributary after tributary, until we found one too deep to cross, so we went up further to a small stream bordered by some mud which got the shoes dirty. Once that was out of the way, we had a little more bush bashing until GZ was in sight. After a bit of searching I had made the find and the log was signed by both of us. Thanks for the adventure out here jank14!
Long has this cache stared back out at me from my map.
For a long time other caches occupied my attention first, puzzles multis, other trads, much easier than this 4.5 terrain boat required trad out the back of woop woop.
So there it sat, until such a time has finally come when this little green circle is sitting amongst a sea of smilies and something... sigh... had better be done about it.
A plan was hatched with JDOutdoorsAUS to meet up today and tackle it together, not whatsoever how the co intended, but hey.. theirin lies the challenge right?
Dragging our bikes to a sufficiently discrete locale creekside, we locked them up, and then ambled our way the last three hundred metres by foot.
Several creek crossings, one that saw us backtrack a hundred metres, saw us arrive at gz with dry shoes!
JD quickly found the cache and after signing duties, made the long bushbash back to wherever it was we put our bikes, with a slight detour first.
Thanks for showing us this quiet location with a geocache!
So happy to finally claim a find here.

Found this cache the intended way and had a most enjoyable paddle from the launch point on the lake and then up the creek. We started out in the rain which was quite refreshing but by the time we reached GZ it had cleared. The water levels are so low at the moment that the banks were high and exposed and the mud was stinky but it didn't take away from the cruisy and scenic ride. Loads of crab pots lined the edges which were interspersed with park benches along the walkway, and then led into lots of tree swings which built in ladders and platforms. This place is obviously enjoyed by locals. Once there I had to walk around a little to find the right direction as the gps was skewy but it wasn't long before I found and signed it, noting that the previous finder had kindly replaced the logsheet. Thanks for putting this cache here and bringing us to the spot.
The water was nice and warm as we made our way across to GZ... and there must have been some rain as it was almost waist deep. What a neat area though, and I would love to have had more time (and less degrees of temperature!) to enjoy it more. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here for this adventure, jank13!
Heading south through the Sunny Coast region finding specific caches to help with my D/T grid.
We definitely got our feet wet getting to this cache.
Thanks for the cache.

This cache was probably not located as intended.
I followed my car GPS which took me to a good parking spot on Kawana Way. There was no obvious track heading in the same direction as the compass so it was a straight bush bash through head high grass until it came to a two meter fence. I was able to climb under it near a creek and then pretty soon after, the grass opened up and there was a well defined track.
I followed this track along the creek until about 25m from GZ which was pointing to the other side. The creek looked deep here so i back tracked to a place where the creek could be crossed through shin deep water.
Now it was a fairly easy stroll until I arrived at GZ and soon the cache was in hand.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
The log paper is starting to deteriorate.

The logs about the GPS had us concerned we were on the wrong bank but gps was right and then as were about to check the other bank we saw it! Nice to go for a paddle today.
Quick easy find got a little bit of one foot wet. Followed previous loggers instructions.
Tried this one a few days ago but could not get to the correct bank without swimming, so checked on the tides last night and noticed it was low tide at 9.30am this morning. Parked up in Honeywood Ct. and made my way along the bank until I reached a point that I had checked out previously that looked like a good place to cross if it was low tide. Reached the far bank without getting my feet wet and made my way to GZ, after a quick search came up with the cache. Log looking a bit tired but still signable. TFTC jank13
another one with ozi. decided to trek through the knee high grass to get there. wasnt as bad as i thought. gz was spot on, found very quickly. log is fair but still able to sign. tftc.
Out for a paddle day on the Sunny Coast with a specific goal of collecting T5's. My targets for the day were the Maroochy River and the Coolum, Paynters, Eudlo Creeks and Currimundi Lake.
Made a special point of including this one today, it helps me get closer to finding my second loop of the DT grid.
Managed to paddle straight past, the gps gave me a bum steer. Turned around, landed the yak, and made a quick find.

This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #2599. Thanks **jank13** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

It had been my intention of tackling this cache by walking overland from the Kawana Way connector road. However, as I returned to my geo-jeep from the other Currimundi Lake cache I noticed a well-defined path heading in the right direction. 250m later I was at the edge of the lake but my GPS was telling me I was on the wrong side of the lake. Back tracking a bit I found a shallow creek crossing and was soon at GZ. A short search and the cache was located and returned to its spot.
As with the other cache nearby, the terrain rating is fanciful. Perhaps 2.5 is warranted because of the creek crossing but certainly not 4.5.

Wrong side of the creek for me too. I actually managed to turn myself around without noticing whilst padding up the creek. I had given up and was headed home when I glanced up and there it was. TFTC
A fun day Friday with IolantheK and Brother Colin. Shoes off and we walked along the cool water to the otherside. A short walk in and BC had the container in his hand. TFTC jank13
This morning I received a very kind invitation from Nurseyjulie to jump in her car and join IolantheK and Brother Colin in a little run around Caloundra for a couple of hours this afternoon.
I had left the group by this stage, but they had assured me this one was easily reachable by land, as they had visited earlier today. It has been high on my hit-list as the D/T combination is a rare one.
The last time I attempted it on foot, I was halted by the final waterway which was a raging torrent! Today all was much calmer, and after crossing an easy causeway, I soon had the cache in hand. All good here so TFTC!

It's time for a play day with Nurseyjulie and Brother Colin And seeing as we all live in different areas of Brisbane, and have about 19,000 finds between us, we had to head up to Caloundra so there was enough caches for us all to find
Another water cache that we walked to There is a creek that has to be crossed and Nj and I removed shoes and socks, but BC managed to get across with dry boots. A quick find. TFTC, jank13.

Continuing on from Wallum Hakea we are know starting to get the hang of it and are heading in a (sort of) straight-line. By pass some teenage boys enjoying the jumping tree (braver then me, that thing is high!). Pull up to a mini beach and spot the cache from the canoe so once again awkardly get out and climb up to grab it.
We ended up paddling up as far as we could and gee we saw sime large splahes...definitely be back to try our luck on Mangrove Jack and mudcrab. In fact further up we saw a fisherman run and hide when he saw us. Don't think he wanted us to know his secret spot but too late mwhahaha.
That was pleasent little adventure. TFTC!

Out for a fun paddle on Currimundi Lake today, putting the kayaks in from Crummunda park. We've visited before by foot and walked some of the tracks alongside but it was a much better view from the water.
Continuing on from Wallum Hakea, we soon located a suitable to landing spot and while the others trekked into the bush to see what there was to see, I found the cache on the little headland safely hanging tight.
We paddled on up the creek, dodging more and more logs and overhanging branches as the it became narrower. We went under the Caloundra- Mooloolaba Road bridge but it soon became too narrow (and a bit smelly ) so we turned around and headed back.
After another half an hour or so we were back in the main part of the lake and paddled to the ocean end, pulling up at the very crowded beach for icecreams and a long wait for take-away lunch. Very busy today!

Ended up on the wrong side a common mistake I see after reading the logs. After backtracking then a careful hop over some rocks and mud and through the grassland we made it. TFTC
We had decided to try to complete the Difficulty / Terrain challenge and chose an area on the Sunshine Coast to target at least twenty-five different D/T combinations. This cache has the added advantage of also helping us with the Average Cacher Challenge so it is an extra bonus find for us today.
After searching unsuccessfully at another nearby cache in the series, we set off in our kayak to Swamp Mahogany and fortunately, found the cache quite easily. After adding our name to the log, we made our way back to the previous cache to see if access from the water would make the find easier.
Thank you for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy jank13.

This one took a bit to get to! A from TeamDNA and myself drove past the cache from all sides and then it was decided to just walk in and see how we went. I parked Spangle about 350 metres from the cache and then we cross over a slippery waterway. Hmm, I'm sure I took the worst way Sorry A! Finally we found track and followed that until we were 90 metres from the cache. The track didn't look like it was going to end up anywhere near the cache so we hit the scrub.
Eventually we made it to within 23 metres of the beasty BUT there was no way we were getting it unless we got wet Rightio, in you go! A small swim later and the cache was in hand. Woohoo!!! We signed the log and replaced the cache as it had been found. Heading back to the car I had a bit of a run in with some angry wasps
Thanks for the cache jank13

Grabbing some caches with Nyssaflutterby on a rare day off work!!
We did a complete circle of this one, by road, and we couldn't find an easy was in.
So we parked up and decided to walk, firstly over a concrete spillway and then following a walking track.
When the track kept heading along parallel with where we needed to be heading, we decided to go the most direct route.
When we spotted the water hazard we stopped to assess the best access point, deciding to move along the bank further until the steep drop flattened out.
After still being wet from the earlier adventure, I jumped in first and paddled over to the cache.
A quick search of a few likely areas found the cache in good condition.
Unfortunately, when returning the cache, the tether, which has become a bit brittle, broke and I had to try to re-tether it.

I followed the trail to the water, but in light of the huge downpour during the day, there was absolutely no way of crossing the creek without a watercraft. I looked for trees and walked quite a way along to see if it became any narrower, but it didn't. I reckon I'll be back because the D/T rating is attractive and the area is stunning, especially today after some rain.
I was looking for a nice challenge for our 700th and this sounded like a pleasant walk in the bush. After finding the nearby puzzle we made our way further into the bush and found a suitable place to cross the waterways. It was interesting to see this area at close range as we have thundered down the arterial road many times. We didn't see any grey kangaroos today but have often seen them in here from the road.
Once at the water's edge we made a quick find and then took some time to just enjoy the early morning misty views and sounds. We took a slightly different path back home and came across the amazing rope swing over the creek.
Glad to see this one is still in operation and thanks jank13 for the peaceful walk.

Another beautiful day and we enjoyed visiting friends of the Sunshine coast. Managed to combine our visit with some geocaching. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Nice one [^][^] Thanks to jank13.
We went for it thinking we were on the right side of the lake, we were wrong and had to back track, crossed a lake with parkour skills haha, had to manoeuvre through trees and bush, we got to the GZ and found it within 5 mins, TFTC a great spot!
Took forever but finally after searching all the ground area I was about to give up looked up and it was fight in front of me haha found with but no by Mariomofo9000 TFTC TFTF

#517~ Cleaning up my map with dahumbug this late afternoon, we decided we would head here as there was one he hadn't collected nearby and this one that I hadn't found. So off we set, into the setting sun, my blind faith in his ability to not get me lost, or at the very least build a good shelter for the night if we did, kept us walking (even after he asked if maybe I would prefer we didn't keep going)."Only two hundred more metres" I said, "we're nearly there already". So off we set again, crossing creeks, balancing on logs and getting whipped in the face by branches and vines. And then it got dark.
And I admittedly need those mega bright roadworks lights to see in the dark so one bright torch between us made for some tough going, trying to find creek crossings and not slip on our butts in the mud. The fog started to drift in, my expectation of Michael Jackson appearing as a zombie singing Thriller luckily didn't come true and after going a wee bit further than we were meant to, we backtracked, dahumbug now in control of the torch, dragging me with him as I collected branches in my hair and, I realised afterward, a tonne of mud on my legs.
Eventually we got where we were going (don't ask me how, it was dark and I was being pulled along blindly) and thank goodness I spotted the cache... now to find the way back out. This is likely where most of the mud incidents happened, a lovely water filled hole beside the creek swallowing my foot up to the ankle, such a lovely squishy sound it made too. All in all though, one of the best muddy, night time, foggy, blind as a bat treks I have been on. And even a cache to make it more fun. TFTC jank13

#7859. We ended up having to backtrack and look for a creek crossing (quite a common experience by the looks of past logs). The creek was low and we managed to keep our shoes dry. Then it was on to the long grass (no snakes encountered) and a quick find at GZ. TFTC.
After finding Currimundi Lake - Wallum Hakea, we decided to walk on to this cache. It was very pleasant walking in the shade of the trees. Shortly we found ourselves only 45m or so from the cache, but part of the lake was between us and the prize, so had to back track a little. Found some stones to walk across without getting our feet wet. TFTC.
Had to go through long grass and mud to finally reach ground zero. Great hide. TFTC
Spent a while working out how to get to the cache. Had to do a bit of creek crossing and trampling through long grass but eventually got there and found it fairly quickly. TFTC.
Managed to get to this one without a boat but we had to trek through a lot of long grass and a creek. Lost my phone in the bush which was a bit of a scare. Eventually got there and found it fairly quickly. TFTC.
I am sure I went the long way, through tall grass across flowing creek before finding I was on the wrong side of the inlet creek. Eventually found GZ for an easy find. TFTC.
Out and about with thehairbear today we decided to meander our way to this one. Once at GZ it was a quick and easy find in a nice and quiet location.

Was not sure how and if I was going to be able to tackle these "Currumundi Lake" caches and kept checking the logs to see who had found them. I had been close to this one before but across the creek, came close to going over in the same spot as today but there was water flowing then so backed out. About 110 metres to the cache and this one was an easy find. tftc jank13
Came up the coast to do a maintenance check on one of my caches.
This was the only one around Caloundra left to do so I pulled on my gumboots, sprayed with mozzie /tick repellent and walked towards GZ.
I saw the tail end of a large goanna on the track on the way in.
I got to the end of the trail and was faced with water.
It was shallow in most parts where I walked using my gumboots as a boat to cross.
Once on the other side it was a short walk to GZ.
They could sure use some cows here. Lots of nice grass.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks jank13 All good with this cache

Since this baby was released I have been studying a way to reach GZ without a watercraft. Now with the help of Mr Google I devised a plan of attack.
I pulled into a nice little Cul-de-sac and made my way to the nearby walking/bike trail. I was following Mr HTC's directions and everything was going according to plan.
As I was getting closer to GZ I could hear the yelling and screaming of kids playing . About 30 metres more down the trail I came upon a group of kids, they were swinging out into the creek from a tree swing and falling into the creek and having heaps of fun.
I didn't want to be seen so I back tracked a little, out of their sight and gathered my bearings and figured out where I needed to be. I followed the creek up a little way until I found a suitable place to cross, without getting my feet too wet. [^]
I had about 100 metres to go, so I very warily walked through the knee high grass [xx(](Snake Phobia)[xx(] until I reached the safety of the tree line.
Mr HTC was spot on today and very soon I arrived at GZ. It was a nice quick find once there.
I signed the log in second place under Dahumbug's FTF, congrats Dahumbug. [^]
This was a nice little adventure and with a bit of homework turned a T4.5 into a very comfortable T2. [8)]
I have decided to award this cache one of our favourite points for the adventure and location.

I signed the log in second place under Dahumbug's FTF, congrats Dahumbug. [^]
This was a nice little adventure and with a bit of homework turned a T4.5 into a very comfortable T2. [8)]
I have decided to award this cache one of our favourite points for the adventure and location.

I took a shortcut to this cache by parking on the motorway and using my kayak to glide under the fence. I had to carry my kayak in places but mostly paddled. It was awesome that I scouted a way for future finders to navigate this one on foot, something I see has been done quite a few times now.
I do recommend the kayak/ canoe trip from further down the creek, but at least this one is achievable on foot. Look out for the cool rope swings.
Thanks for the cache jank
