Love how caching brings us to these awesome spots! Great views although I think the weather is about to change! Thanks for placing this.
Went for a hike up steep hill with Geogranddaughter EE to find this. View are especially beautiful. Cache easy to find. Very slippery down hill. TFTC
**19,858**Took the terrain rating for this one up a notch or two by doing it in wet jandals. The view was sorely reduced by the cloudy, drizzly conditions. Cache hidden where expected so a nice quick find. TFTC
Found on a gorgeous clear late winter afternoon. Took two or three looks to spot the container, but exactly where expected. Thanks for bringing me up here, first time. Tftc!
Staying with friends just down the hill and fancied a walk. Oh look, a cache on Baxter's Knob. A quick find in the obvious spot.

Unfinished business completed. Glad the cache was replaced. The views from up here are amazing.
Stunning day for a trip up here. Perfect breeze for a perfect heat! This has been on the list for a long time. Happy to have come here. Thank you!
This cache was a reason to come up here. Wonderful view and Wellington's wind nearly blew us away. TFTC
What a great view up here. I was privileged to have a lovely windless day and was tempted to linger taking it all in but time was getting on and I needed to make my way home. TFTC
Pleasantly surprised to see this back after it had been archived, definitely a spot that deserves a cache and I had been hoping to do it for some time. Thanks for restoring it.
Very windy up here but at least the rain had gone.
Great views but I didn't linger for long to admire them owing to the chilly wind and the fact I was timing my visit to fit in with the buses.

Had a thorough search with my dad and we couldn’t find it. Looked everywhere concerned it could be lost.
Was expecting this to be straight forward but had no joy finding anything here today. Pity as I was showing a friend how geocaching works. Windy spot with great views.
A quick find after a lovely walk. All very tidy, clean and dry - thank you! Enjoyed the views in all directions. Last find before ours on the log was AliGle.

Have replaced with a new cache in a slightly different spot. Description, hint and co-ordinates have all been updated.
With the CO in Wellington for the weekend. This is my second visit to Baxter's Knob but the first opportunity to sign log book. TFTC
Further down that I expected. Location on phone not helping (said I was 6m away when right on top of it!). TFTC
Was worried that the new fence around the cell tower might have entombed this one, but as previously mentioned it is still accessible and in good condition.
Out and about with MightyMicra, this was our last cache for the day and what great views from up here. Took a little finding but was exactly where described. TFTC.
This area has been altered significantly due to the new fence around the cellular tower, but the cache is still there - you just have to keep looking.

Needed a cache today to deal to a dot day. Decided to go after this one later afternoon. Parked in Kahurangi Heights and it was a walk with the geohound of only 250m or so from there. Took a brief moment to locate. There are a few ‘outcrops’ to choose from. Great views from here. #2659. TFTC.
Took a little while for the kids to find this one, but they got there in the end. Unfortunately no Christmas cracker trinkets to be found ️ cache in good shape. TFTC.
Scrambled up the bank, found cache after short search, sat and admired view, removed gorse prickles from feet. TFTC vistra!
A quick easy find today. Quite a different experience coming up here today compared to when I found the original cache here a few years ago. It was quite a rural hillside back then, but now there is even a house built over the bottom of the unofficial path up the hill.

Tidying up a DNF from a couple of days ago. It seems I missed the
right hint object just half a metre away, the other side of a gorse bush.

Cache #2 This was our second find. Recently discovered this and we live just down the road. Sun is out but man it's windy!!!
It's gusty up here today but tolerable. I arrived at the trig point and checked the listing and hint for guidance. I looked in the direction indicated by my phone and quickly spotted a likely hint object, but although there was an obvious hiding spot where the hint indicated there was no cache. A quick scout around several other possible objects revealed nothing so I fear this may have gone. I'll add it to my watch list and return if someone logs a find.
Quick find where all good at GZ. Coords reasonably ok. Not sure how gasbottle missed this one?
Thanks for another smilie.
Did you know that planning has started for a major Event in the Wellington region in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event’s page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/). The official cache page is now live [GC78NMQ - WENZ Event 2018](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC78NMQ_wenz-event-2018-wellington). If you are planning to attend, please ensure you let us know through this page.
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

While Mrs S was being pampered in the hairdressers chair I went for a bit of a wander to fill in my time. This was the second and last cache visited for the day.
Had driven up the street with the same name of the location to find a new spot to overlook the area. It has a time capsule buried and boards showing the various locations (suburbs) that can been seen. Tried to then access the cache location but that would have involved a clamber straight up the hill side through the grass and shrubs under the gaze of a person working on a nearby house. Thinking there must be a better way, returned to the car and drove around the neighbourhood until a way more easier route presented itself. After that it was an easy stroll to GZ. After further enjoying the view (you can see a lot from up here) popped down to make the find which was heaps easier than what I was expecting. Had chosen the 'right side' to access the hide and spotted the cache lying out in the open. The hunt time would have been a whole lot more if I'd come around the other side. After signing returned the cache back, placing it a bit further back (30cm or so from where found in the open) so its more protected.
Good accurate GPS coordinates. Many thanks for the cache and bring me up here to enjoy the view.

Found the trig, think we found the spot described in the encrypted clue but no luck finding the cache
Nearby for a meeting so went for a walk at the end of the day. Took a bit to find co-ords are a little out. TFTC
A lovely evening for a walk up here. I'd been meaning to do this for months. First time up here since moving to the area in June. Lovely views. Signed log. TFTC
While daughter was playing with friends below, dog and I went for a walk up the hill. Stunning day and stunning views in all directions. Hard to believe not found for 4 months. Thanks for the cache and the excuse to come up here.
Zipped up to Baxter's Knob quickly just before the light disappeared. I've always wanted an excuse to go up there and this was the perfect one. Air started getting really cold and breezy and I almost gave it away as my fingers got a bit numb. But I finally found the right crevice it was hiding in and signed the log with some decidedly shakely writing. This was the last awesome view of the day for me (geocaching has taken me to quite a few).
I took a hike up this hill with my son. Stunning views from the top. Thanks for our second successful find since signing up.
I crashed up the hill through gorse and other obstacles to get to the top (it had looked easy enough - how wrong could I be), then when I arrived at the top, I saw there was a new road coming within a few metres! And there was an easy walking track. Darn. Anyway, it was worth the effort and I enjoyed the view - clear, sunny day today. Cache found easily, log signed, all in good order. A very pleasant amble back down the hill followed. Tftc.
Came here for a quick walk while my son was warming up for his football match nearby, wow, what amazing views up here - was fortunate enough to have clear views all around. TFTC vistra, #8035
Hard to resist. And been here before, but that was a previous cache and we were not in luck.
Today's visit a different story.
Enjoyed the views and marvelled art how lucky we were to be enjoying this at this time of year.
Find was straightforward, cache all in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

#835. Having a long weekend and grabbing a few caches before the rain arrives. This one was quickly found thanks to a good hint. It must have been found by muggles recently as the lid was off and it was full of water. But surprisingly the log was still fairly dry in its plastic bag. Signed log, dried out the container a little (using my trousers as didn't have any paper tissues with me today) and covered it with the rock. Awesome views up here, shame about the cloud and showers sweeping through. TFTC
#1607 The phone battery was red lining and I was struggling to locate the cache down the hill GC1Y8XV but decided to have a go at this one. With the hint I was able to locate it without the help of my phone and took the TB. Was determined to find the other cache on the way down the hill.... TFTC- what a fantastic spot!
Came up here to qualify for The Great A-Z Cache Hider Challenge. This cache now qualifies and seems to be the only "V" in Wellington. Great view is a bonus and I get to take home Giggly Lion (the last may not be such a bonus if the wife keeps up that insane giggling). -TB +TB
Quick find in the gale blowing over the top of the hill. Nice and calm at the GZ though. TFTC
With H, C & D. H left pen in car so no log entry. We left gigglylion there to show we'd been.
My family's first find of a cache! Took us a while to find, first visit to the spot and the weather packed in so we called it a day and but we did return to get it! Unfortunately though we forgot a pen so could not sign the log book! Thank you for the great cache
TFTC, I went for a walk up here today, thinking nice location for a Geocache and low and behold there was one here with a trackable coin.
