Thank you to everyone for coming along to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Geocaching on a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne. Early arrivers found a big tree to shade under - a great idea. It was a lovely crowd with 35 teams in attendance.

Congratulations to the prize winners:

Xesist -Trackable World
pocketrocket&friends - Carabiner
micaparamedic - Caching Torch
The Empire - FTF

Those who had not already made the find moved over the road to the EarthCache - Improbable Fossil Stones.

Trackables were dropped, retrieved and discovered.

We really enjoy earth caches and when we saw that this event was being held on the 10th anniversary we knew that we would have to attend. Mrs Crackers travelled into town with Mrs Coffee and micaparamedic and arrived early so they sat in the shade to wait for the allotted time.
Our small group soon grew into quite a large attendance and many intoductions were made as well as saying hello to old friends.

Thanks McLookers & Tomstache for organising this

Lucky for me I'm on holidays so wasn't going to miss an event.

Parked in Southbank and caught the tram up to GZ.

Captured a few munzees on the way.

Nice event and good shade under the tree.

Nice to see many faces today too.

I'm only a Bronze Level Earthcache Master so still along way to go.

#104. Got there at the last minute after relying (foolishly) on the Melbourne Public Transport system. Thanks for organising this McLookers.

10-Jan-14
Arriving only an minute after the start time I was amazed to see the massive group gathered under the nice shady tree. So Many People!! and heaps of people I hadn't met before, including our hosts. Thanks for putting the event on today, in honor of the first EarthCache. I was surprised and pleased to discover the first EarthCache ever was in Australia. Thanks for hosting this event so close to my own (adopted/re-birthed) EarthCache, I'm sure I will get quite a few more emails out of today event. Thanks also to your excellent MC Tomstache, he did a great job.

10-Jan-14
Thank you for this event. I was spending some time browsing book as the nearby Melbourne City Library when I got reminded that there was an event on. Quickly packed up and made my way there to be only a couple of minutes after the start, but looked like everyone else was already there.

Came into town with Team Crackers and The Coffee's to celebrate the 10th anniversary of earthcaching. Great to see so many like minded cachers also attending. From this earthcache tragic, many thanks to McLookers and Tomstache for organising this event, also a huge thankyou to Gary(geoaware) for the initial idea.

10-Jan-14
Caught the train into town (a rare occurence for me) and took the correct exit to have me spot on at the event. Collapsed under a shady tree with Mrs Coffee and Mrs Team Crackers out of the heat. Caught up with several cachers and afterwards enjoyed a nice lunch. Thanks for organising this event, it was great.

A good way to spend last day of my holidays.

Attended with The Empire on 10/1/14
First cache for the year as it is getting challenging to cache these days with big belly!
Thanks McLookers for organising the event. Great to see lots of people out and about on a hot day! Thank you also for my prize Smile

10-Jan-14
Thanks for coming to our event everyone. We really appreciated how many people came on a hot day. I liked meeting fellow cachers.

10-Jan-14
A lovely day and such a good crowd. I must attend more events.

10-Jan-14
Very hot today in Melbourne, but great to see some new faces, and some old ones. The shady tree was good. Thanks for organising this event. A terrific thing to celebrate-10 years of the first earth cache.

10-Jan-14
My first ever event. It was interesting to meet other cachers with hundreds and hundreds of caches whilst I have not even reached double figures yet. Soon it will happen.

Find # 2610
Attended at 12:30pm on Friday, 10 January 2014
People started to arrive just after noon and drifted away from GZ to the shelter of some shady trees, where the event ended up being held.
Great to see everybody again and meet new people and generally socialise.
Afterwards I went on a long walk with Kmace and Spiffy- and we found a few caches in East Melbourne and Richmond.

Thanks McLookers.

10-Jan-14
Arrived about 10 minutes early to find a group under the shade of the beautiful tree about 20m away from the intended meeting place which eventually moved.
Put a few more faces to log names which was nice, had a chat for a while then headed off for a long walk in the heat through East Melbourne and Richmond for a few more caches with gmj3191 and kmace.
Thanks for the event McLookers. A great job by the MC Tomstache as well.

It was great to get back to an event after so long and catch up with some great friends made through caching. Also great to meet up with others that to date have only been an email or cache log contact. Thanks McLookers for booking such great weather and Tomstache for running the event. TNLNSL. TFTC. KemS

I had totally forgotten that this event was on. Was "enjoying" my morning at work, and thought "hannnnng on.... isn't there.....???". And yes, yes there was. Headed down there on the hot tram from office. Got to catch up with a lot of the usual characters, as well as some new ones. Some of which had just had a crack at some my caches in the CBD. Was able to pass on "Traffic Control #1" via a local traffic light. Thanks for the Event.

10-Jan-14
Attended this event today. It was great to see so many people in the city at lunchtime to celebrate 10 years of Earthcaching. I was glad that this event had moved to the nearby shady tree! It was good to catch up with some familiar faces and some new faces. Thanks for organising it McLookers and great MCing by Tomstache (might be a future career!).

Thanks for organising this event McLookers and Tomstache.

Attended the event with Team Crackers and Micaparamedic, we arrived early and sat under the shade of a tree and watched the many teams as they arrived.
Thanks McLookers and Tomstache,

I have only found two Earthcaches Red Face , both in the last few months, so this was a must-do event. I seemed to arrive at the event early, at about 12:15 pm. As I'm allergic allergic to the "e" word, this was a very rare occurrence as there wasn't much traffic on the road and I managed to get a parking spot in nearby Macarthur Street. There were some familiar faces milling around in the shade about 30m from the designated meeting spot so I joined them.

I signed the log and then proceeded to catch up with my caching colleagues, some familiar and several others who I hadn't met before. Of course all things caching were discussed, including humorous stories about our experiences with security officers and police. Twisted Young Tomstache did some great MCing and definitely has the X factor to be on TV. Unfortunately I didn't win any prizes.

Thanks McLookers and Tomstache for organising this historical event. It was lots of fun. Cool I had recently done the nearby Earthcache so after the event I went and completed my ex-workmate Alsume's newly restored nearby multi Premier Attraction (GC1KC1K).

On a very hot (36+) day, our power at home had gone out at 2am and had not been restored when we decided to head for this event (in the comfort of our air conditioned vehicle), we got to the location early and watched the number of cachers grow as the appointed time grew near.
It was interesting to find out that Xesist, lives in the same town as us.... and we had never bumped into each other at an event before, it was great chatting with them, look forward to meeting up with them in the future. We were amazed at the size of the crowd that showed up for this event. It was great meeting up with old and new friends.

Thank you to McLookers for organising the event and Tomstache for being a awesome MC.

On our way home from here we grabbed the nearby earthcache, and did several caches that had previously been DNF's for us, coming out at the end of the day with 7 different cache types for the day.
All in all it was a great adventure.

Glad to be a part of a milestone in caching.

Signed log.

For some reason I had another location on Spring St in my mind, when I walked past a group of people behaving like geocachers. Not being that quick at times it wasn't until I turned on the GPS some 60 metres further on that I realised that they WERE geocachers! Back I went for the usual catch up and meeting new people which of course ended all too soon.

Many thanks McLookers and Tomstache for organising this event.

*** First to Find ***
A warmish day for a nice walk around the city and good to catch up with fellow geocachers. Surprised with the First to Find draw win, I never win anything! Thanks for hosting the event McLookers.

Firstly thanks to McLookers for organising the event and Tomstache for MC'ing, great job.
Was also a little chuffed that our name was first drawn in the raffle and we recieved a trackable around the world marble. Can't wait to register and drop this off so we can see where it gets to!
Secondly to all that attended, it was great to meet so many cachers and put faces to names, but to find out that the first people we bumped into lived in the same town as us was pretty amazing, hopefully we might see more of each other around the traps soon, Vacachin and Misschief. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day and managed to find a cache or two on this hot sunny Melbourne day Very Happy

10-Jan-14
Was great to see so many cachers here for their lunch break, and it was good to meet new faces (as always). Enjoyed this little event as it was a good catch-up for me, while at the same time celebrating a neat milestone for geocaching. Thanks McLookers for organising!

It was nice to see a lot of cachers around. It was very friendly although I didn't know many of them. Later went to do the Improbable Fossils earth cache and met more cachers. Dropped off a trackable and picked up a new one. Thanks for the great event.
