This one was burnt out in the recent fire. I’ll archive to free up this spot for someone else once the area is accessible again.
A really lovely spot. The GPS was wandering about, but we soon found the right spot. Checked out the frisbee golf on the way. TFTC
Took a little while as the navigation is always off by a couple metres but we found it - did not record or leave anything as we didn’t have anything and the paper was soaked
Found It!
A nice little place and a quick find. Although very muddy here today! I doubt I'll be going to NYC anytime soon but maybe one day...

It took us a good ten minutes to find it, Mr 3 was stoked when we found it!! Forgot a pen
Day 348 ( Monday 10th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Mt Gambier today. A total of 1for the day and 6439 the trip. TFTC
Interesting ramble through the bush....pleasant surrounds. Great to have no muggles watching. Cheers & tftc
Out for a cache hunt with “J3ss and Al3x” and “Kwrehn” and stumbled upon this lovely cache
Nice lil nature walk (careful of the wild seeds that attach to your clothes)
Didn’t bring my frisbee for golf
Found a nest that fell from a tree
And the carcass shell of the cicadas left on a tree

I was on the other side of Mount Gambier when I spotted the mystery icon and read about the need to organise with a NYC cache to swap coordinates. Argh cool, thought I would get to that cache during this weekend so I can organise the next set of coordinates. Hence this became a target cache for the last part of the day. Managed to drive nearby and went for a run to find this cache. With thanks to accurate coordinates, it didn’t take much effort to find the cache. I signed the log and was about ready to place the cache back when I had totally forgotten to grab the NYC coordinates. Grabbed a copy, and will prepare that next cache stage, thanks. Cool disc golf course around here also! ️
A few days away with Freddo and Four Fun down to Mt Gambier.
We picked up caches as we went.
Great times.
Took the stroll to GZ and made a quick find. Not sure what the 3 muggles were up to.

Found easily after a short walk from parking.
Noted the co-ords with anpic, but alas forgot my pen back in car! So scribed with a muddy stick and took a pic of log and cache container with NYC coords.

found after the nearby event with another cacher. took co ords for the next cache. found 10 metres from listed co ords.
Found with Medusa after a chipnic at the lakes.. Got to the cache to discover I'd dropped the pen somewhere on the trail.. So took a photo but on the way back miraculously found it, so headed back and signed the log.. Joined by a couple of friendly wallabies.. Lovely spot! Thanks
Found it with ferociousflea after a picnic dinner. Was a nice little spot, loads of roos, pretty area. TFTC!
After a longer than thought search we found the cache with friends at the Road Trip Respite Event. TFTC
The Jackman family left Geelong early Sunday for a road trip to Mount Gambier. It was the first time for us all here, epecially Aysen who is 5 months old. Despite heavy wind and rain, it stayed off for the important parts of the day and we loved visiting the area!
Had a long dig around here but came up with a DNF. Some recent wood cuttings of the trees at GZ.

I followed S_I_L into the bush as he had previously done this cache but as it was at night he was leading me"up the garden path" so to speak...checking GPS I noticed we were really no where near where we were supposed to be so I came out of the bush & started again...it was then a relatively easy find by me...I got the NY co-ordinates but not sure what to do with them. I did message sarahandtory after reading their "write note"...I will see what happens...TFTC GoShaz
Greetings from New York! I have the coordinates for the cache in Mount Gambier! Please message me so we can swap coordinates!
Owl had to go to Mount Gambier on a not-very-Blues-Brothers Mission for God and took Mrs SA Sewer Rats with her for company and caching. Once there they collected the enthusiastic muggle aunt, Bowerbird, and set off on a caching adventure. This was one of the must-finds for the weekend and Owl happily (and completely necessarily) bush-bashed her way to the cache, having taken a wrong turn somewhere. Now for the next part of the adventure....

Picking up some of our missing trads in the mount we hope to visit NYC later in the year so maybe we will pick up the return cache ourselves TFTC
Suscoe had a terrific day caching to the west on Mount Gambier today.
It was cloudy for most of the day with a cool breeze to keep everything nice and temperate.
We found 40 caches in total which was a lovely number on a beaut day.
Well this was a nice find as we had contact with a caching team located in New York for this week while we were in Mount Gambier.
So with this cache found we dispatched the co-ordinates into the ether and we hope that we could bring a smiley to our contacts in the USA. Good luck guys.
Thanks to GoSHaz for creating this two way geocache experience, a great idea.
Time to head back to camp for the evening, its been a long day.
