We were searching for a multi to do and saw this night cache, which we always enjoy doing. It was not to be however, made it to the sixth stage but couldn't find anything else after an extensive search - may need to be checked?

31-Aug-18
Wow, an urban night cache and not too far from our overnight accommodation = a must do cache.

It took a while for us (my muggle sister joined me for something to do) to get going but we easily made our way through the stages until we got to the eighth stage where my weak eyes couldn't make out the numbers. My muggle sister had better luck and we were on our way to the cache which was easily found.

Thanks for a great cache jaw fnq.

It has a lid and a new cache container once again! Thanks everyone for letting me know. Water was also emptied, so should be good to go once again.

13-Feb-18
I had to give this cache another go, and I definitely misjudged it the first time, this cache was actually terrific!

The biggest problem the first time was the inefficient light source. I got an ultra-bright LED zooming light, and with this, the reflector path was easy to follow.
The park was also unoccupied, so the search could occur without disturbance.

I followed each of the reflector eye path (note the 6th set is missing one "eye") to find the 8th (and supposedly final) tree with reflectors. I then searched all around the tree for the cache, but nothing found.
Yet after reading the comments, I wondered if there was another reflector to find. Sure enough there was a 9th reflector, and it was different to the others. The "logo" was also an interesting twist.

Once the final cache location was found, it was discovered (as other commenter stated) the container had no lid, is full of water, but nothing else (no log book).

13-Feb-18
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

I was really looking forward to this cache, but what a letdown!

I had done a similar night cache to this on the Gold Coast. This Gold Coast cache was in a dark, semi isolated area, and the reflector track was obvious even with the phone light.

However this cache was in a very well lit park, that made finding the reflectors very difficult. Possibly my (adequate till now) headlamp was not powerful enough, for after finding one reflector, it was necessary to wander in a hopeful direction before getting close enough to see any reflectors. The search devolved into just wondering around the park looking at various tress to see if a reflector was present. Thus any counting of reflectors was not possible.

Also to note, there was also an assembly of indigenous people in the park at the time. Their constant calling out (and I am sure the threw rocks at us), meant we were not staying long in the park.

10-Dec-17
It appears that the first reflectors need to be counted as zero. As noted previously the cache needs maintenance.

To see the reflectors well, hold your light source at eye level. This will make them reflect about twice as bright as holding the light at chest height.

We really enjoyed this cache especially as it was our first nightcache. Thank you!

After driving up from Townsville this afternoon before jetting off to Tokyo tomorrow the first plan after checking in was to check out the nearby caches and this one was the closest. Always excited to go for a night cache so hurriedly made my way to The listed coordinates. Had no problems following the trail with only number 6 missing one eye. Had a little trouble with number 8 as it wasn’t what I was expecting so phoned the previous finder (found over a year ago), another Townsville local who pointed me in the right direction. Then it was a quick find at GZ however the lid and log was missing.
Still a fun 15 minutes.

Almost 6 months ago I had a DNF on this one, I finally got a chance to come back and change this one to a smiley. I must have missed one of the 'eyes' as I had made it to the last step and was unaware, and this time I had a peek at the clue which made it clear what I had to do, and soon after I had the prize in hand. Thanks for the night time hunt and a favourite from me

Checked up on the cache so it is ready for any cachers looking for a fun way to claim their Haunted Hides souvenir. Replaced the first reflectors again, everything else was perfect, and now ready for some more caching adventurers.

Great fun in the rain but had to come back to finish as the drain was flooded a late log but fantastic TFTC:)

Whoa that was way hard, why I hear you ask? Because my torch was duller than the light/torch function on my iPhone. However, I walked all the way out here so not to be put off I set to work holding up my iPhone to every tree I could find. I managed to find I think every set of eyes including the slightly different pair. Now upon finding set 8 I think something happened that doesn't usually and made reading the co-ords a very tricky, precarious and almost baptismal experience. I did find my feet though and the only picture I could take was a mental one. It was enough that got me to a hard earned 2 hour smiley. Thanks for the geo cache

Night time caching in Cairns.
Discovered that there was a true night cache nearby, like the type and had a good torch with me.
Found all the steps up to the last, quickly found the coordinates and the good hide.
Took the coffee voucher left by the last team but failed to claim it this time.
Thanks for the cache

Cant log a find or DNF because I didnt get the eight set of eyes. Walked through this twice. I'm guessing that there is only one pair of eyes visible from each point. Got to number seven and saw nothing......twice. Re read the detail and it mentioned the eight reflecting being slight different, but then the hint said that they are eyes. Spend a good 40 minutes going over this and looking everywhere for the eighth set of eyes, but no joy. So without actually being able to look for the cache, I wont declare anything. Last one for the morning raid too. Will message the CO to see if the last set of eyes was the 7th or 8th.

Speedmistress and the muff1 team headed out to have fun in the dark. Great parking to start the night-time stroll, the reflectors were easy to spot but we still needed to do a second time around as we were not sure how many reflectors we found the first time around. three mature adults could not agree on how many we had counted.
We struggled a little for the last one, then hubby tells me "all I can see are those over there but there is no cache there", da. I head to the place and copy down the co-ords and head to the cache. Need I say, I had mentioned that all we were looking for were co-ords.

Muff1 and I had been out caching most of the day and had been 'just doing another one", so after our evening meal we decided to head out for a night cache. I think I have only done one other so I had to rely on the cunning of the experienced Muff1. Can we count.... err ....well.... second time round we managed to 7 and then went on the hunt for 8. Found it, but did not compute we were looking for a hint, not a cache. Told ya I was inexperienced. Anyway soon put on to the money by Muff1. Off to the cache. All very happy with it. SL TNLN TFTC.

Struggled a little at the 7th reflectors, but after a few rounds we made it. Had a great time, TFTC and lovely greetings from Würzburg, GERMANY :*

Checked up on all the caches today as part of a New Year Owner Maintenance adventure. Replaced the first reflectors as they had gone missing, but all the others seemed to be in place. We couldn't check one pair due to a friendly game of volley ball right near them, but think they are ok. Final cache location has been cleaned up by the council, so it is currently hidden in plain sight. It is still fine, so we will just keep an eye on it. Enjoy your caching adventures!

Happy 1st birthday awesome night cache, as we walked out fellow geocachers arrived to celebrate.

#6194 We were in town for some R & R and a spot of caching here and there. Being fans of night caches and decided to make a "night" of it. We chose to complete a high muggle cache and 2 night caches however our attempts on two of these caches ended with a Sad. So it was with a little trepidation that we arrived at the starting co-ords however The GeoPrincess had soon picked up the trail and we were off Big Grin. From memory, all the reflectors were in place with the exception of one of the starting ones (and as a result we missed this until we found our way back to the car). As a result we had arrived at No.8 without realising it, it was after a short search that we realised that this location offered up some intel for GZ Razz. With that in hand we headed to where our Garmins directed us and we couldn't believe the well executed hide - very brazen but so very nicely done! It was great to end our evening on a high so a big thanks to jaw_fnq for the fun nightcache, we had a great time. Cheers [^]

Took: Nothing
Left: Pathtag (different to the other we left at the Chirp if you're interested Wink)

Our third attempt at a cache tonight and our first find! We missed a stage somewhere so we're looking for another non existent set of eyes eventually we realised out error and got back on track with our search.

Enjoyed the stroll TFTC

not a fan of this type of caching but ventured out and found the final cache location

amazed at how obvious it is but still blends in, a favourite from me Smile

Truly an impressive feat in this area! I think two of the points have been removed or I just missed them, but ended up at the 8th anyway. Due to the rain yesterday when I first visited, locating the final coords proved tricky so chose the phone a friend option. Returned tonight to sign the cache and was in awe of its size! Well done to you for this cache, favourite from me Smile

We followed the path of illumination and were rewarded by a most interesting cache.
A strong beamed torch with a bright spot is very helpful when identifying the path to this cache. Relatively easy to follow, but do be mindful of the green ants. They take no prisoners should you wander too close to their trees.
A nice quiet and safe park area for a night-time stroll. All up from start to finish we would estimate 15-20 minutes, although locating the eighth stage proved more of a challenge.
Thanks jaw_fnq for this fun hide. Glad we saved it as one of our August caches.

Another well thought out & entertaining cache! Some of the reflectors were a little hard to find, but GZ became obvious when we approached. The container was interesting. Thanks : )

Found @ 20:23

With peachburston & family visiting, we took the 2 old geokiddies with us to search this out.... Almost go thru it but didn't look low enough for the last markers. Thankfully I had rummagingremins contact details and he guided me there, which meant we could finish off the hunt without any further issues. Kids loved the adventure and were just as happy the hit HJ's after swapping a few items over in the cache.

Great park for this type cache, lit well so kids and us didn't feel unsafe at all!

What a awesome setup. Definitely a favourite from us. Might need to check the first few eyes as we had trouble. Ended up just walking until we found the next few beady eyes. Thanks for going to all the effort setting this one up.

A huge thanks for the cache from us.

it was a fun experience..very creative.. Thanks

Not as easy as we thought it would be but still fun. The darkness, the eyes, the bats made for an awesome setting. Don't give up and keep an eye out for the eyes!! Very Happy

Was great fun and tricky too

AstroTom and I had been to the Happy 4 10 dinner spot and needed to walk it off. Ah...... a night time cache and not too far.

So we pulled up and found the million watt lumen diver torch in the back. This blasted the fire tacks to the moon. So round we went.

Wpt 8 was in the bag (nice one) so a wander over yonder to check out the impressive final hide. I was sort of expecting that to light up like a Xmas tree but nope. I guess you can't here as it may be possible to spot it = perhaps a reflector at another angle could be considered. Love your work here that is normally reserved for more rural settings.

Thanks to jaw_fnq and clear skies from TeamAstro.

This very early morning we arrived here still in eventually vanishing dawn[|)]. Fortunately we got help from a good Geocacher fellow bringing along his super brightCool lamp. It turned out that the strength of the light source is most important[^].
Anyway, accepting a bit of help paid off[^]. We relatively quickly ran through the different stages[^] until the eighths one disclosing the final co-ordinates. The cache itself turned out to be a surprise in how it was successfully camouflaged[^].
It was much more fun than ever anticipated[^][^][^]!

We got up quite early to give this one a try. We arrived at the trailhead at about 5:30 am[|)]. Our equipment consisted of individual headlampsRed Face. Alas we could not find any "eyes" from that pointTwisted. So we walked around in the park and really saw two "eyes" staring at us[^]. However, from there we could notTwisted see any other until daybreak.
We have to come here again using a stronger light sourceCool.

Apology for my delayed log entry.
22.15 - On this drizzly night I was out and about with a couple of muggles who were interested in finding out more about GC. This cache was a natural choice as it has all the trimmings of a treasure hunt with some excitement thrown in through the 'dark environment'. The beginning was straight and forward. Then we 'struggled' for a short moment because we were unsure which was #6 and which #7. Got that sorted and kept looking. After two 360 with nothing I finally remembered the suggestion and adjusted the angle - and there it was #8. From there it is an almost straight line to GZ. Nicely hidden and well executed challenge. +/-0. T4TC.

I noticed that, even 3 weeks after publishing, I am still STF [:o]. Where is everybody [?]

This one was a night&day caching experience Smile. I started on Sunday night and found all the reflector stages in the pouring rain, however I was unable to locate the coordinates for the Final at the 8th stage. I was unable to even find anything that remotely looked like a container/clue, guessing the stage had been muggled I messaged the owners, who promptly checked and replaced the stage in the morning. They notified me and so I was able to go and find the Final today before returning to Townsville.
Great work on the final container Big Grin

Bands are back on the log book so easy for the next person to fish out. Plenty of cover behind the cache if there are people nearby just walk past and come from the other direction. Enjoy.

Thanks for that jaw_fnq, I have to say that we have not done much caching recently but me and my boys really enjoyed doing this one, probably one of the best in the Cairns area for kids I would say!! Keep up the great work and I only have 'eyes' for your next cache Smile Cheers! Andy

PS..... I owe you two orange Alice bands Smile

Oopsss!!! When we found the cache there were some locals drinking alcohol not far from the GZ, consequently things were done in a bit of a rush so we didn't attract attention to ourselves, forgot to put Alice bands back on rolled up log book pack, just found them in my pocket, will try to put them back ASAP to facilitate removal of the stuff from container for others!
