Found after a pleasant walk today. Logging with permission from the CO. Picked up container to return.
There was so much dew on the long grass that my pants legs got really wet. Then the water worked its way into my waterproof boots, so I really understand the 'wetlands' around here.
At GZ, I checked one possible place, but nothing. I was ready to dive into the bush, when I spotted another place that looked promising. It ended up containing the cache, so I didn't have to do the dive. TFTC.

Lovely misty morning around the lake and the ducks were sitting safely on the water for the first weekend of duck shooting season. No problems with the find. TFTC
Its Been a while and now its time to catch up on all the logging that I've put off to a rainy day (while it may not be raining, where we were heading the roads are still closed hence sitting here doing this).
Back out on the road with HKCB looking to collect a few caches around Waihi along with two more Kayak caches that we were targeting for the day. AFter making a hole in the ones in Waihi it was time to work our way down to Bowentown followed by Athenree. As we have made several runs over here in the past it was an enjoyable trip along the coast cleaning up what we needed to. Thanks to all the CO's for the effort in keeping these caches going.
Thanks for the Cache, thanks for the Placement

Another Geocaching mission with Cats&Dragons, the goal for the day was to focus on the caches around the Waihi/Bowentown/Anthenree area including the cache across the bar on Matakana Island, and while we had the kayak with us a visit to a lonely beach was on the cards as well. The day was hugely successful and a lot of fun, so a big thanks to the CO's for all the placements.
Checked a few spots before finding this one.

A lovely walk alongside the ponds with many different types of birds spotted. Cache quickly located and i was on my way back to the car via the same route, TFTC!
Fantastic wetlands! Saw a pair of Spoonbills on the flats. That's a first. TFTC. Chasing 400. #394.
'Between' was a bit too cryptic for me late in the afternoon. Never mind, it's a good reason to come back another days and have another search.
Second cache in the wetlands. As we followed the path there was a small group of black swans in the pond to our left. They suddely decided to take flight all together, their huge wings flapping and the sound echoing off the vegetation to our right. Rather impressive. The cache itself was an easy find with the hint. Very close to the sodden ground but somehow dry inside.
This is a neat little area and we are enjoying the walk very much. Some swans at this end as we passed which took off at one point. Very wet under foot so pleased for my hiking boots today. Found with the hint. TFTC
We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
Nice to get a clean sweep of this series in a nice wetland area.
No one else about today, suits me fine.
A quick find, GPS was out by about 6 meters but hint was more than adequate.
Cache in good condition.
Signed and replaced before backtracking to the car.
8th find for the day
Thanks willbuild

3.35pm. The last for today, thank you willbuild. Took a while as for some strange reason I misread the hint as "evergreen"!! Got there in the end and the place did fit my version of the hint!
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Good to find...strategically placed to entice one to walk around the circuit tftc☺☺
Could have been between lots of things but got the correct one. Thanks for the cache.
After a full-on and tiring day yesterday, when we biked from Waihi to Paeroa, we had a cruisy morning and after lunch headed out to Athenree and Waihi Beach to have a look around. Unfortunately, the sun was shining so it was warmer than we would have liked so we appreciated cache finds in the shade!
We carried on to this cache and a quick find for StreetWalker while I was searching a little too early Thanks for bringing me here, it's good to see some wetlands being regenerated. TFTC.

Greetings from Wellington. Found on my morning run. The dog had to sit this one out - he wasn't happy about that. The reserve is a lovely area for a walk or run.
Straight forward find. TFTC.

We did as suggested and walked around the loop. What a lot of work is going on here. All looking great. Easy find. Cache good. TFTC
Had a awesome day out caching with Philip.Perry today hitting Athenree and the Karangahake, Got a bit burned but found some awesome places and added to the numbers. Thank you to all of the cache owners
Really nice little place down here and like P.perry said would of not ever come here if not for geocaching so thank you for bringing me here

Another boys day out with no particular destination in mind and just ended up here
A beautiful little loop track and another place I'd never know existed without these caches. Found the cache in the first spot we checked - Cheers again willbuild
Earlier this year a group of Tauranga based cachers started a Geocaching Bay of Plenty Facebook page. 70 cachers currently make up this closed group and have already organised various events thanks to the connectivity facebook provides. Please check us out if you haven't already.

Nice stroll to knock this one off as I missed it last time. All good here. TFTC
This is one of the things we love about geocache - coming across these amazing little parts of NZ we would never even know existed if we were not geocaching
thanks for a great cach
thanks for a great cach
Second try for this one and finally found it. For those confused about the entrance it's on the road between Athenree and Waihi beach. A small gravel entrance
Thanks Willbuild for all your caches. Would be useful to have instructions as to the best starting point for this cache. We ended up going a more direct route and were not sure if we were on public or private lands. As you can expect from a wetland we got rather wet feet.
After spending so long trying to access the old boat, we nearly left this one, but decided to give it a try. Luckily we read a few back logs and found out where to go in from, so we just walked down and quickly found it. I left a butterfly as we have seen lots of monarchs in the area.
Like others before us, we didn't come across the official entry point/parking area. We crossed a section for sale, and found a track down the hill - hoping that we weren't trespassing. The wetlands are a great area and it will be interesting to see how it develop over the years to come. TFTC.
After dropping Willbuild back off at his abode I went and ventured out into the wetlands to sign off a cache.
Cheers for the cache.

An early afternoon cache assault on the Bowentown and Athenree areas. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I hope to tidy the geomap a little more...
Another area we had trouble accessing... Perhaps an entry waypoint would be helpful. We drove up and down roads trying to find a way in. We ended up close by, but housing prevented us from making direct access. Finally, we braved up and found entry through a vacant property (up for sale). There has to be a better way in... Surely! The cache was a quick find, despite these seeming obstacles. TFTC.

3pm - Don't know if we found the correct entry point but soon got there in the end. Very boggy under foot with a fairly easy find with cache semi exposed, recovered. SLTFTC
#376 - Nice walk down here, we entered the wetland area, headed in the right direction and got the fright of our lives as a little white dog jumped out in front us lol! (ooops didn't think dogs were allowed in here)
Anyway after recovering from that, i saw spotted the likely spot. TFTC

Took a few minutes longer than it should have the combination of a posted photo & the hint. When all else fails, rely on the gps & put the brain in gear.Having done the the find was painless. Thanks willbuild.
Tftc and bringing us here today. Had a lovely walk around the loop with junior scoobydoo. Lakes are receding a bit with the lack of rain, but a cool spot. Shame some people seemed to mistake the carpark for the refuse station, which is a bit further up the road!
An easy find today although this is my second attempt. Tried in winter and looked high and low with no success and then I had to give it away as it got dark. No difficulties this time I'm pleased to say. Thanks for the cache willbuild.
On tour around the eastern Coromandel Once the start was found it was straight forward. A nice spot tftc
This should have been the easiest and quickest cache today looking at the D & T ratings but think I made it harder than needed. Yes the first bit of how to get to the cache had me scratching my head and then read a previous log I tried a different direction - aha - never noticed that before. Walked to the cache was pleasant but then the hunt began - pretty sure about the hint but I was having no luck - widen the search area but still no luck. Had a drink and a think and then revisited a spot and aha! how did I miss that but the colour does blend in well and it was not quite in the right position. Coords were good for me in the end only 5m in it. Great area - I was going to walk the circuit but there was a big group of ducks on the path so rather than disturb them, I returned the way I came. TFTC
Wondered how we were going to get to GZ, but followed our nose and no problem. TFTC.
Good to get a newish cache in newish area ! Thank you for bringing us here ! Fun bike ride from Waihi Beach....
Very nice walk on a quiet afternoon. Never been here before. Thanks for bringing us here. Is going to great for the wildlife overtime. In: Robley TB.
There where a few options to go with the hint I think after the 3rd bingo . We did the nice little loop and should of brought the knapsack or law mower lol
Pic
Enjoying the area today, picking up a few caches on our way around

Nice place to visit. Lots of prickles so covered shoes helpful. Will have to visit again.tftc
Took a bit of searching as the coordinates were a little off for me. Nice spot for a walk after a swim at the beach. Dropped off a couple of coins to continue there travels. TFTC
Plenty of birds there, the hardest part with this cache was to find how to get to the reserve , we first thought we had to access it from Athenree, TFTC
Saw this one go live this afternoon and decided it was a good place to visit on a damp day. Found after a good root round in the undergrowth. Thanks for the cache and the FTF.
