While spending a few days around Mansfield I enjoyed an afternoon slowly making my way up to Mt Buller and caching along the way. Having a few troubles with reception on my way up meant I circled around a bit here but eventually zeroed in on the hide. Thanks for the cache skullracing.
I intended to go solo on this mission to give Steve a break. He was starting to feel the effects of our early start, along with all the driving and caching. However, he didnt stay in the car long before coming over to give me a hand.At this point, we were starting to think about dinner and a nice glass of Thanks for this fun series skullracing.
Sir_spectre and I targeted this area mainly for the webcam, but we still really enjoyed visiting the cold location and admiring the views. Several people out exploring the area, I can't imagine how crazy this town will be once the snow comes. Thanks
This is a new vic LGA for me. Just grabbing a few finds. On route the the nearby webcam. quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. B.Ro

Found on a visit to Mount Buller for the day while staying at Benalla for two nights. The main aim of the day was to qualify for two high-altitude challenge caches in the 'Straya' challenge series near Karoonda SA. Thanks for the cache skullracing!
Quick easy find on our way home from Mt Buller for Oscar's 100km hut2hut trail run Tftc
Back in your "Box," lol... haven't heard that saying in Donkey's years..Snips did the deed of finding this cache as we breathed in this magnificent mountain air .. thankful the rain had stopped..while l watched from above...That should be the end of this cache tale... but the key saga was about to start..Firstly, a bit of context..Snips and Co doesn't always lock her Geo Jeep while cachingTiz13 suffers from paranoia and trusts no one..So the request to take the keys had been made earlier on..Snips took half heed, taking the keys but not locking the door. After the cache was located, we returned to the Geo Jeep got in only to find Snips had lost the keys Doh.We searched the ground and the Jeep ...Zip..Nada...Nente....Snips kept searching above while I went down to the cache to investigate, hoping the keys had come out with the pen..This could have ended so badly..Thankfully, Tiz13 hasn't lost her touch ...the keys were found straight away on the ground about 1 meter away from the cache, and we were able to continue with our journey home.Tiz13 remained in charge of the keys for the remainder of the day.
My turn to leave the road and find the cache. A nice easy one for me. The cache taught me a lesson. Always leave the keys in the car lest you lose them while caching. This time I took the keys. I lost the keys. Tiz found the keys.Tiz13 is very fond of keys and decides that she will be the guardian of the keys from now on. All I need to do is remember to shut the door. Thanks skullracing for the cache and the fun.
Found It!Another quick find here as I slowly made my way up the hill.TFTC
Treacle Min Road hosts two pubs, the Misbegotten, near to Misbegot Bridge, and the Widespread Arms, which is, possibly not coincidentally, immediately opposite the Seamstresses' Guild. This pub is therefore ideal for Immediately Before, Immediately Afterwards, or perhaps both.
CaptainVimes and I are on a driving holiday from Melbourne to Canberra this week. We made a quick find here. Thanks for the fun skullracing
TFTC. skullracing for your cache Buller Corner Series - Back in ya..... that we found today.
We are staying in the North East for longer than anticipated. While we were here we decided that as it was a nice day we would drive out to Mount Buller for the day. We targeted some caches as we made our way to Mansfield and then up the Mountain. The major aim was to get our first webcam. We also planned to add some caches to increase our elevation numbers. A great day out.

Nice to have a quick find, after I scrambled to GZ, following a DNF. Cache and log are good. TFTC skullracing.
I really enjoyed my trip up and down Buller today. I have not been up here in over 30 years so virgin caching country for me today.
A little drop down and soon another of the pvc containers was found.
Cheers

Todays planned day trip for Craig's Hut to make our #2000th find was finally here! Super early start this morning lead to an awesome day exploring both Mt Buller and Mt Stirling some tracks certainly tested the old rig out, but we made it home in once piece. Today brought back lots of fond memories of visiting this area with my Grandad many years ago.
Quick find here, loving these names! I don't think I would of noticed without this little series.

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache skullracing

Heading toward Mount Buller, with an optimistic hope for a rain free day, so far so good! Corners, corners and more corners! We loved the names of the corners, both the original and the inaginative. Sturdy containers which kept everything dry were well hidden and not too difficult. All up a great series.
Thanks to skullracing for creating such a clever series of hides, for the geo-gameboard

Another ‘happy for a hint’ find! Yep - it’s not the season but the rain last well meant the snow line is higher and careful timing meant I could pull off the road as the sightseers headed up and up with heads out the window madly snapping fine pics. After a big weekend at Buller as TD - that’s Technical Delegate for Vic XC Skiing Interschools it’s nice to be heading home and doing something totally different like my next fave not usually too demanding activity. No-one in times gone by could have imagined the hoards seeking snow play and ski fun on the slopes. Having said that, hats off to the tireless good humoured parking staff. TFTC and the fun and the Buller history summary!
After a few camping trips with his muggle brother Mr Dromaniax suggested that they have another camp trip and invite their muggle father along for the ride. After leaving Ballarat around 10.30, we headed towards Smoko Campground in the High Country.
After arriving after dark at the campground and setting up the tent and cooking dinner in the rain, we were up early and headed into Bright for breakfast. After breakfast, we headed off towards the goal of the day, the Webcam cache at the top of Mt Buller.
Having had our photo taken, albeit a very misty photo at the top, we were heading back down the mountain, and it made sense for us to get all the corners covered.
The drive up had been an exercise in concentration with poor visibility. This improved on the way back down, and we broke up the drive nicely by caching.
Another cache in excellent condition.
Thank you for this cache skullracing.

Found on Day 2 of the Wangaratta Event Trip!
This was the start of a long day and a very important day for me. Trying to beat my previous type finds in a day total.
This is going to be a very well organised, stressful and fun day. We had set ourselves a challenge to pick up as many different types of caches in a day, grab some higher altitude caches and then to add to it, grab some different size caches all in a day.
With our game faces on Domsky’s and I headed to the start of today’s list. We were super excited and had a good plan. First was an event and then head out to grab the MT. Buller caches and then work our way back to town.
It was a super fun day and a relatively easy and fun time, we even got to see some “Serenity”.
In the case of the events, we signed the logbooks and in the case of a cache, we signed and replaced as found. Thank you to all the CO’s for our journey today, it was memorable.

Another sharp corner, but of course there was a place to pull into, and the designated driver was doing a great job.

Pulled over to the left as I headed up the mountain, and it didn’t take long to spot a structure that I thought might be host to the cache. A quick downhill wander and I was correct. The camo was set aside and the cache container revealed itself (you know what I mean). Log book was all good here. Fourth use of our new stamp. Everything was returned as found, and back up hill to drive some more. Nothing taken or left today. Thanks very much for the cache skullracing. Great to break up the drive. Cheers
As Ghostgums and I were approaching the top of the mount, the fog was still very thick and we were hoping that as we took a little time to pause and grab some of the caches in the way up, we'd be in for a little lighter fog by the time we continued our ascent. Hmm, that didn't work as well as we'd hoped.
Pulling up at GZ here, as the GPS counted down the hiding options reduced and we zeroed in on a spot that graced us with the container. The log was extracted, our names added and everything tucked back as we found it.
The cool air up here this morning was a repreave from the humidity and nastiness of Wangaratta. We appreciatd that. [^]
Cheers skullracing.

Cheating death again we made it to Box Corner. There was a box trailer here but I'm sure that was just a coincidence. Budgie and I went to look for this one. We figured if we'd survived this far that no bloody snake was going to take us out, although Budgie seemed to have his eyes shut again so maybe he was still shaken.
Thanks yet again skullracing
I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we moved from the Caravan Park to GZ. While waiting for our site to be ready we decided to unhook the van in the carpark and head off to Mt Buller for a look around. This was a quick find, and love the nice size container! TFTC
Found this series of caches coming down the hill from the top of Mt Buller
--------------------------------------------------------
The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)
The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.
Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.

As we were retrieving this cache we watched a semi driver with excavators loaded on the back take the corner, incredible driving. Cool spot for a cache
This is the first day of real freedom for so many, who have been in lock down. We have been more free for some time but this is the first chance to run for the hills and escape a warmer day.
It was such a great day, with blue skies and very few muggles or traffic on the mount. We enjoyed the walks and making some great finds, with only 1 DNF for the day.
Thanks skullracing for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

We are staying near Mansfield for a few days with our friends and today we headed to Mount Buller to explore, take in the vista’s and of course geocache. The morning started quite cloudy and chilly but the sun started breaking through mid morning and by lunchtime it was a glorious day.
This was a nice quick find TFTC

Escaping the heat for the weekend, we headed into some higher altitudes.
We camped at buttercup campground for two nights, which was very busy night 1, but with my little Jimny and our two small tents, we found a spot that we fit.
After caching our way around Buller, Stirling and Craig's Hut, we (as in I) decided I didn't want to do any more walks, as we had a crazy day planned for tomorrow. So we did some easy driveby's on the way back to camp.

Ilukaperi and I had decided to escape the heat for the weekend and so we headed higher up in altitude. Towards Mt Buller/Stirling. We took her Jimny with its fancy new AT tires. Camping at Buttercup campground, we used that as a great base for exploring the area.
After a late night, we enjoyed a small sleep in before getting up. I drove into Mansfield to restock the petrol in the Jimny, re stock the eski with ice (and of course beer) and to grab a coffee that while wasn’t camping instant coffee, was none the less not as good as home. Arriving back, Ilukaperi had everything organised (she’s good at that), including pancakes for breakfast! Once done, we pointed the Jimny to the circuit Rd, Craig’s Hut and Mt Stirling.
We had done Craig’s hut and Nt Stirling and so now it was time to take it easy for the afternoon. We had one CRAZY day planned for tomorrow so we were happy to just let the Jimny do the work for the afternoon. So drive bys it is.
After doing the circuit Rd/Corn Hill Rd thing back to the Buller village, we made our way down the Buller Rd, back to camp. Grabbing all the caches along the Buller Rd that we had missed before.
This one was an easy one, found in the first spot we looked. TFTC.

Today, we had a little more time driving up the mountain, so decided to find the caches on our way to the top. Our aim was to find all the Corner series, but our attempt was abandoned when a storm rolled through with heavy rain. Thanks for placing these caches.
Today involved a drive up to Mount Buller and a few caches along the way. Didn't quite find all of the caches along the drive as a storm came in. TFTC

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Victoria Day 4: Mt Buller and Back
Today was the day I took on my 6000th cache milestone at Victoria’s Oldest, with the added bonus of having a little hike to the summit of Mount Buller as the cherry on the cake. It was a long drive out of Melbourne for these caches, but the weather today was pleasant as we drove through the Victorian High Country. All went well as we stopped in many small towns along the way, and had lunch at Mount Buller Village before going for a hike to the summit before returning to Melbourne for some Vietnamese pho. Very nice day all round with a good number of caches found too!
This is the specific log for this cache:
Another nice little find as we ascended Mount Buller. The box at Box Corner was easily found after the hint object was spotted. TFTC!

Finally got to have a couple of days off so I headed up to Molesworth for a few days of R&R and caching.
After attending the dawn service at Boonie Doon I headed up to Mt Buller and was picking up caches as I go.
This is a great series to break up the drive up the mountain and to read all of the corner signs that you don’t take much notice off.
Another great spot to check out 5he view through the trees, slowly making my way up.
Thank skullracing TFTC.
After attending the dawn service at Boonie Doon I headed up to Mt Buller and was picking up caches as I go.

We were at Mt Buller for the Mt Buller sky run supporting a friend running in the 45 km race and did some caching as time and locations allowed.

A huge weekend away, with over 2000km being driven over 3 days from Adelaide to Mansfield via swan hill and Echuca, then return via Bendigo and St Arnaud. The target was to collect 11 new local government areas and mostly stop and do some multis.
But the main goal was tour of Mansfield, a cycling tour consisting of 3 stages over 2 days (Saturday and Sunday).
Stage 1: 14km Individual time time trail.
Stage 2: 76km road race finishing up old Tolmie
Stage 3: 46km road race finishing up the top of mt bulla.
Wednesday I left Adelaide for Victoria via pinnaroo, I decided I would stop when I had enough of driving. I camped in the back of a cemetery yes a cemetery, nice and peaceful in Nyah. Thursday I made my way from Nyan to Mansfield via Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton with 2 trips over the boarder. A lot of DNFs on caches as some were barrow red off due to road works and others I must if stuffed up. I ended up camping the night in Mansfield. Friday I held my event in Mansfield with a big show of 1 (just myself)!!! And went for a drive up mt bulla. Saturday was mainly racing and Sunday after the race I made my way back to Adelaide via Victorias oldest cache and some new roads through the middle of victoria that I had never been on before.. With arrival on Monday at 1am back home. A big trip out and a great weekend away with a little under 100 finds.
Thanks for the cache placements by all the cache owners.

Found this one tucked away nicely and then realised it was by the Mountain GOD himself called Skullracing.
Had a ripper drive up here on my own on this day. (Can’t remember when it was)

#3527 Found ascending Buller this morning as we aim to tackle some mountain bike trails up near the top. We plan to come back to Box Corner soon to ride down from this point to join the Delatite (Devil) River trail back down to Mirimbah. It looks like a heap of fun! Great read on the cache page. You learn something new every day TFTC skullracing.
With holidays planned to freshen the mind before the Christmas rush, the family decided to camp out in the high country. We had never been in the Howqua region before and loved our time there camping along the river. We couldn't pass up a trip up to the mountain to see the sights and enjoy some caching while here. We too loved some of the corner names and wondered how the came up with the names. This cache took a few moments to get, thankfully lots of space to park here.
**Thanks to skullracing for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Its Mega time ! Unfortunately after a great weekend of caching around Melbourne it was time to head home. After packing up the camp we headed off with a few choice caches in mind along the route home. After grabbing the WebCam up top, we headed down to grab the corner series plus others. This was a quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and then headed off to the next one.
Thanks skullracing !!

My third of a 9 day caching road-trip holiday. I had a couple of caches I was determined to find before making the last stretch to Melbourne, which took me away from the trails so my find total was a bit lower than I hoped. But the views from Mt Buller when the place isn't covered in snow were spectacular.
Thanks for the caches.

On a Mtb and caching trip to Mt Buller.
After an "Epic" ride yesterday, the steepness of the terrain, reminded my legs of the workout they endured yesterday.

Found on my way home from the Buller event. I spotted where this one was hiding and saw a couple of geotrails so I followed one down and made the find. Getting back to the road I realised how steep the bank was and decided that was probably enough corners for this trip, hope to come back another time and finish off the rest. TFTC
Found while at Mt Buller for the 2018 event weekend. Enjoyed the caching, socializing and of course, on this mountain, there's the bonus of location, location, location!
Now heading home on Sunday afternoon.
After covering many kilometres around and over Mt Buller there is only a handful of caches within 10km I haven't found. Including this corner series. After some serious mileage on my feet I was quite glad to do these drive-bys.
I was at this GZ location 2 days ago, but that day I had other more hardcore targets in mind so missed this one. Today I was operating in more sedate mode, and returned to the familiar location for this smilie.
Thanks, skullracing.

It was a slip and slide to find this one but had a good laugh at my expense. Tftc
As I'd started off being 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so.
My first time attending the Mount Buller event and I was so tired after getting home late from about 5 days in Melbourne that I didn't make it up to Mount Buller for the Friday night [)]
Still that meant that I cached up Saturday and I attended the 1 event after finding 7 caches on the way up
With extremely sore hips and knees [xx(] and no Harry [xx(] to get out 4WDing in, my weekend exploration was very limited Sunday I headed over with SciFiRulz and we did the webcam thing Then Monday before leaving I found the cache that is right at the back/front of the lodge Mind you, gmj3191 just would not let me do it on my own although I did hear that his 'support' was offered merely so that he could get another look at the view before also leaving [:X]
I've finally managed to stop and find the last few of this corner series

Oh look there is a GZ there to meet me as I drive
I will find it, sign it and log it when I drive,
I’m doing all the Buller Corners while I drive
I’ll then be shouting “they’re all done” after I drive!

sushilord and Doctor Owl were on a mission to find caches in deepest darkest Victoria with the main aim of visiting challenge caches and working on requirements for a number of challenge caches in South Australia and Victoria. During the trip there were laughs, tears, fractious frustrations and new equipment tested with some technology failures. Many miles were covered and boxes opened along the way.
Too many of these to remember each one, it became on corner after another. It was nice to see a series of good sized caches and accurate coords taking us straight to GZ. Each one is worth a fav point for the great work and the views along the way.
Thanks for the cache skullracing.

I am visiting Melbourne from Perth with the Family for Xmas. Many plans have been made about which caches to find. Hopefully those plans can be put into action.
I was given a leave pass for the geoson and I to take the geohirecar for a run in the country. The goals were Melbourne’s 1st and the webcam on Mt Buller then maybe some touristy stuff - the rest of the day was open.
Nearly fell down the embankment to this one.
skullracing - I was out and about today and found your cache Buller Corner Series - Back in ya..... at 11:21:54 on 22 Dec 2017. This find brings my cache count to 2485.
Thank you for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. The log was signed and cache replaced.

After attending the MEGA event on the weekend, Snickersallan, Mrs RoddyC and I decided to take the drive to Mt Buller today and find a few caches along the way.
A quick find, SL then returned cache to its hide.

After successfully completing our 12 different cache types in one day we could enjoy a relaxed late afternoon and evening.. well until we realised how close we were to this one and that it was unloved! And that we were just a few off one of our team members milestones... looks like we may be caching some more.
Scrambled down, across, around, over the remnants of a car.... and yep.. cache in hand

We were getting the hang of these caches now, they all seemed easy finds with good coordinates.
Thanks

Whilst visiting Alexandra for the Mega 2017, nibletricecakes convinced a few of us to attempt to get 12 different cache types in a day. After completing this mission on Mt Buller, we cached our way back to Alexandra.
Great series with fairly good areas to pull over. Cache found quickly
