01/04/2024 1:09:00 PMStopped as I headed back to Victoria after the Mega and spending last night in Young after dropping of scouter 101.After telling scouter I was heading the rail spiral he suggested I should head up a little further and check out the lake, which was certainly worth the drive. Thanks dade5 for contributing to the game I so enjoyFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
While Mr DunWorking was feeling Unwell and Asleep in the Motorhome down by the water I went in search of this Cache. DAM, I walked to the Dam Wall thinking it would be there and even thought I spied some Geocachers sitting there but Dam it is Higher up the Dam Hill. Stayed the night with lots of other Campers. Great Spot.
We're camping at Bethungra Dam for a few days and today, after spending most of the day sitting around relaxing, we decided to head up here to admire the view and find this cache. As is usual in these situations, we didn't notice the track so took a more direct, and harder, route up but luckily found the track running up beside the fence for our decent. Thanks for find #5791TNLN
Beautiful view, came down for one night for Australia Day,just be warned that there is a dead sheep in the paddock next to the cache that stinks. TFTC
What a cracker of a spot. Just a note, don't have a huge lunch before hiking up the hill. Phew!
Grass is hip high but we pushed through to GZ and located the cache. We had been out photographing this beautiful part of the world and overlooked putting a pen in the kit so we couldnt sign the log. Thank you for taking us to this sensational outlook. TFTC.
Came upon this beautiful picturesque location by chance. Stayed 2 nights & did the cache. SL TFTC
TFTC! Fantastic view ?? I have learnt I really should read before trappin off in thongs! So over grown at the moment but what a view. Well worth it! Almost gave up so glad I didn't now my friend that got me in to this is going to be jealous! She a pirate nut!
Found It!
A nice little walk here and a quick find once I got to the top of the hill!

We decided to collect this one at the Dam whilst in the area today. A bit of puffing as we climbed the hill, but made it safely and SL at 3.45pm. Saw evidence of kangaroos, but they must have found a nice warm and sheltered spot away from the very lazy cold wind! Left: deer pathtag. Quite a few intrepid campers along the shore, huddled over their fires trying to keep warm. #8809 TFTC dade5 - glad you lured us up here to check out the view.
We towed our caravan out to the Lake, the road was good even though wet. What a great camp place we may make use of some day. Only 1 caravan there.
It was very bleak in our time there, but the rain held off as he headed off to GZ. It was windy, so the chill factor made it even colder, but there were some great views from the top.
Found the cache nice and quickly.
It was time to move on from Wagga, so we said goodbye to good friends and set off on our way to Cootamundra via Bethungra. Its still bitterly cold, but thankfully today there were only a few showers and we managed to dodge most of them.
It was mainly traditionals today although we managed an interesting Virtual and a couple of multis.
All in all a casual day traveling with plenty of stops..
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache dade5.

This is a fantastic spot we are staying here tonight as we are returning from the Mundi Mundi music festival. This is my 500th cache so I’m glad I choose here. The Captain even climb the hill for this special occasion.
Day trip out to Bathungra Dam. Just had to grab this while I'm here. Another one for us and the kids! TFTC.
It is our second day camped here and I managed to get Pa to walk up here with me before a late breakfast. It turned out to be a bad move as I forgot a pen. Originally I was going to send the CO a photo to prove that we had made it to GZ.
Late brekky equals late next meal. Lunch? Dinner? Whatever! So just before 3 pm I set off again armed with a Biro, old one in cache didn't work, and a new zip lock bag. Old one had disintegrated. I arrived back in camp just in time for a scrummy roast pork meal!!
Log has now been signed and cache repaired. The views from up there are magical. TFTC Dade5

Returning from our "unplanned alternative to the QLD mega" holiday in the New England area, we spent last night in Cowra, staying at the showgrounds again as we did on the way up, and today we were heading towards Wagga Wagga.
While most of today's caching has been drive-bys as we travel along, we thought we would venture off the main road for this one. Several campers were set up here, enjoying the peaceful waters. Chook walked up the hill and had no trouble locating this cache. TFTC dade5.

Found after looking at others photos. It seems gps is mucking up and it keeps moving
This is a lovely place and we may camp here one day. The log is saturated but we stamped it anyway.
Quick find. We decided this was the perfect spot to have our picnic lunch. Kids spent along time exploring the area. Sadly the book has seen better days.
Nice and quiet area. With only 3 caravans in the reserve, funny enough all with Victorian rego plates. Im guessing these guys fled the state before the lockdowns.
Anyways cache was anneasy find which looked to be all in good working order. Thanks for the find!

We’re on top of the world here. Again, another magnificent spot we may have bypassed if it wasn’t for caching. Thanks again
As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.
If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.
TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.
I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Karen

Many cache owners are already aware: As per Groundspeak guidelines, I am claiming find because physically found under TeamOzcat. I undertake this not for disinterested statistical purposes, but because of inability to revisit this cache, and/or because it's so damn confusing when viewing the local district geocache maps. I sincerely thank all CO's for time and effort in placement of their caches. Cheers Reg.
As previous logs state. This is a gorgeous place to camp for the night. The grounds were kept clean and tidy. The drop toilet was clean. Thank you for bringing us here. Cache found in good condition
Yass to Cootamundra today, with about all the detours one can imagine. Again a great day of caching with a mix of traditionals and multi's. This one had great views

A day trip to Cootamundra, to pick up some local caches.
The weather was quiet warm, so left a couple of high terrain ones for another day.
All caches found, were in good condition. Thanks to all the CO's - we had a good day out.
What a great camping spot, but no one was using it today. Water level was low, also.
Cache found after a short walk, signed and replaced as found. A favourite point from us.
Many thanks for placing this cache, dade5, for us and others to find.

I arrived at the Bethungra Dam campsite in the dark last night and spent a restful and quiet night there in the swag. Its a lovely little spot and obviously quite popular going on the number of caravans, campervans and other campers there.
It was nice to wander up the hill early this morning and check out the view. The cache was quickly found and is in good order.
Thanks dade5 for the cache.

Looking for a camp for the night we drove into this place known to us, surprisingly, we were the only campers but there was a local down by the dam. Settled in for the evening we enjoyed watching all the birds (16 species logged), and after dinner we enjoyed a peaceful sleep until 4.am when we were abruptly woken by a policeman looking for another particular vehicle which we had noticed just before sunset. Back to sleep and then after breakfast I looked to see if there were any caches about. Yep one in the heights, so off I went, sadly the container was glass and broke when I retrieved it, so back to the lowlands for a replacement container and then the heightened walk to rehide the said container. All the time I was watched by the nearby cows and calves and numerous magpies and noisy minors. A great morning. TFTC.
It's been a while since I was here, that was before I started geocaching. Only two caravans in residence, washing flapping in the howling wind. The dust storm won't help either. Took a few minutes to find the cache, beautifully hidden and not where I instinctively looked, nice swaps so I switched a couple. TFTC
Wow, super view from the cache. Found while camping overnight at the lake. What a fabulous place. Unfortunately not much water in the dam - recently drained to allow work on the dam wall....about $8m worth of work. TFTC
Found after a climb up to the top. What a fantastic view this is from here. I can't sign the log because I can't get the lid off. TFTC

Having some time off work and being around the area I decided to collect up the area between Junee and Cootamundra which happens to be the Bethungra area. I started after lunch and finished about 5:30pm.
I made it up the hill and looked around for it and soon enough I had the cache in hand. It was only then I stop to look at the amazing views. TFTC

Out for a few hours of caching with The Doggles. Haven't been out this way for a few years and last time I came out, it was very dry and brown. Today it was lush green and beautiful. We parked at the bottom and enjoyed the changing view as we climbed to the top. Fave point for this location - we loved it.
Thank you dade5 for placing this cache

Loved this spot. Views are terrific and the picturesque rocks are worth climbing amongst and photographing. The Green Geckos and The Doggles were very impressed with the cleanliness of this lovely place. Thank you for placing this cache.
What a great view! Came here to explore the location and was pleasantly surprised! The dam water was calm, the ground covered with green grass that was freshly grazed. Geodog had a blast. In all a fantastic day out. TFTC.
Found at 11:17:00 AM
Lovely spot. In fact someone thought it was so lovely that instead of using the loo down at the camp ground that they took a shit about 30cm from the cache and left toilet paper up there too. Luckily it must have been a few days ago so there was no smell, just some flies.
Thanks dade5

Plans were made with one of the FurfacesLL ladies to do a country drive through some towns in a big loop and clean out a few areas. Main targets of the day were Cootamundra and Junee
We had plans to leave at a certain time, however, I foiled those plans when I woke up late, however we still left at a reasonable hour [:p]
We parked up and went for the walk. There were quite a few campers and swimmers down at this nice little location. We slugged it up the hill and soon had the cache in hand, was surprised at the container however, especially in this location.... hope no one slips with it and breaks it. Logging duties completed and we were on our way.

The day had come to head out on another geomissin with Rapidlywild, weather was awesome so what better way to spend a Saturday then go caching out in the country side.
Well time to stretch the legs at this one and not a bad climb to get the blood pumping. Quick find at GZ then admired the views. Lovely place to camp here and there were quite a few people doing just that and boating and swimming in the dam. Log signed and replaced then off to the next one close by.

After Junee we headed up towards Cootamundra. Stopping in Bethungra we drove out to the Dam. I'm sure I DNF'd a cache up this way before many years ago. Today we parked within 100 odd metres and walked up. Quick find - lovely views ! Signed, returned, and were off back to the car and the next cache.

Wagga & The Rock December 2014. Sol de Lune suggested a trip west to get caches we both had not done concentrating on some of the Wagga Multi's that have evaded us over the years. We had a successful trip culminating with the event at The Rock. Thanks to all the locals who helped us when we cried for help. Thanks.

After visiting the Dam Wall, we took the up hill approach from the closest point (if that makes sense) and soon arrived at GZ. Cache was in hand after checking a few spots and the log soon signed. Great views over the area, so glad we made the effort to come out here. Can remember visiting for others caches over the years.....nice to come back...maybe one day we'll see a train on the loop as well.
Thanks again dade5.....

[:(!] Went for a weekend caching run to do the ES Series (Endangered Species Power Trail), after spending the night at Burrinjuck Waters State Park (I recommend it), I was once again on me way back to my abode and picking up a few caches along the way and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was in hand in a matter of minutes, once the fog had lifted, the sun was out and it was a marvelous day for caching after experiencing the previous day of miserable weather.
I love it

We'd camped here last night so what better way to start the day off than with a little walk around the area picking up a cache or two.
Great spot that we would definately come back to again.
GZ was a nice spot to veiw the surrounding area from.

3173. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1100. On a drive to have a look at the area with a view to comming to stay for a couple of days in the van. The walk to gz was a short one that was worth it just for the outlook of the area and the cool breeze. It is hard to find a cache trail when the hide is in rocks, but the way this one was placed even though the GPS'r showed 4 metres was easy. SL Tnx dade5
