After a concert we were supposed to attend this weekend was cancelled we decided to still go away and tackle the NZ Icon & Kiwi art project series with a few in between, with my muggle husband driving me he did well by getting me to 135 caches so far today with only a handful of DNF’s so am happy with that. Thanks to the CO for placing, they were fun to solve and took up many nights over the winter.
Sorry for the cut and paste logs, I’ll add any info worth reporting or FP’s at the bottom here..TFTC
Cache had been muggled. Lid off and contents strewn around. Collected it all up and added a new log and rehid best I could.

Took me 4 years to finally turn this into a smiley. Have driven past lots of times but decided to stop today as I was on my own so no one to complain. There it was, spotted it before i got out of the car. No log so I have replaced that. Returned cache back so not on the ground now. TFTC

Many Thanks Steve for setting up this series and the others. We started here today, it took a while to get through the series. All cords were pretty much bang on. We enjoyed the series and had a good time doing it. Good to get this series done.

Ill copy/paste this log into the series, some log books need to be replaced, I replaced a few and the odd one I took a photo of if it was to had to write on, Ill upload the photo with the logs as I go.

Crusaderwoman was completing a challenge of 50 caches in 1 day, all 1km or more from the other. This group of Cats&Dragons GCs were Mystery caches and involved quite a lot of preparation before heading off on this mission. We had this first part of our day doing 30 of this cluster of GCs before heading off for the rest. So thanks for the puzzles C&D, they sure kept us on our collective toes....

05-Apr-19
Sorry for the bulk posts but I was completing a challenge of 50 caches in 1 day, all 1km or more from the other. Solved 70 of the 76 NZ icon caches previously, and today collected 30 of them. Had 2 DNFs (Spirit of NZ and Bruce McLaren), will return one day to finish the series. Thanks to the cache owner for all the hard work. There were a few damp logbooks, plenty of insects and some without ground cover. Thanks to Bloos Boy for driving the caching vehicle.

Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth Smile.
I love it! [:X]
Day #5:
Today was dedicated to the windmill-mysteries. Smile
Had solved quite a lot on my own [:o)], but not being a native kiwi, at some questions I needed a helpful hint from the friendly owner [:X] - thanks so much [^] !!!
Really appreciated these great puzzles! [^]
The tour in the country-side was quite smooth on today’s Sunday.. Smile
A lot of driving Razz and getting off and on the car Razz. Must be easier as a team Wink..
Had a great time Big Grin and managed to finish the tour in exactly 8 hours Cool:
All boxes except 3 DNF's [B)] could be found Smile, most of them quite quickly Big Grin.
Above the DNFs, I replaced 2 missing caches (obvious hiding spots Wink) with film-boxes Red Face, added new sheets of paper to 5 caches Wink, dried several flodded boxes [:o)] and had to fotolog in 2 cases Surprised, because there was no help Surprised.
These cases are indicated in the individual logs Wink.
Please excuse the copy-paste of the biggest part of the log-text! Red Face
Thanks to the dear owner [:X] for placing this cool and informative cache-series and for the helpful hints! [^]
And for all the work to perform ongoing mainetnance [^]!
Some well-deserved favs are rewarded - for sure! [^] Big Grin
Cheers from Germany! SmileSmile

Down from Northland for the weekend along with Lis's Crew and DaffyNZ, with the challenge to get 200+ caches in one day and set some personal records. All logs signed as Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy )

We had collectively worked on all three puzzle series over a few weeks and once they were all solved, we had to find a date that suited us all and this weekend was it. Very grateful that the weather played ball for the Friday and Saturday at least, with Saturday being the big mission day.

After an initial hiccup trying to leave our accommodation in the dark at 5:15 am and finding chained and padlocked gates across the driveway, we made good time along the back country roads and made our first find in the pre-dawn light just after 6:00 am. Twelve and a half hours and almost 350 kms later, we signed off the last KiwiArt puzzle log, for a total of 214 caches found and big smiles all round. Team G0LD worked like clockwork, with DaffyNZ doing a sterling job piloting the cache mobile, 0B80B8, navigating and record keeping and Lis's Crew doing most of the hard yards scrambling through long grass, drains, blackberry, hawthorn bushes and those lovely barbary hedges to find and sign the logs. If the found it sign didn't come within 30 seconds of stopping though, the rest of us jumped out and three pairs of eyes usually made short work of the find.

Apologies for the cut & paste for most of the logs, but there are just so many of these three great series to log. Having set up a small geoart series myself, I know the effort that goes into planning and setting up and maintaining them, so to have three big series is just awesome and a huge kudos to C & D. A truly massive effort and really appreciated by three Northland cachers.

Number 68 for the day. I've only been on the inter islander once and it was a lovely smooth crossing that day.

I'm down from Okaihau in the Far North with 0B80B8 and DaffyNZ on a three day caching mission. Our aim was to get the Kiwi puzzles, the NZ series and The Eyes Have It series in one day. Not a feat for the faint hearted geocacher.

These caches were mentioned at a geocaching friend's birthday event in November last year. A few of us were keen to get them so we set about making it happen. I'd started solving them back in 2015 and had written a spreadsheet for one of the series. Now several computers later I had to relocate it again. We then all set to work on solving the puzzles which was fun. Some were very tricky with many possible ways to word or abbreviate the answers and a different perspective really helped. I was stuck on converting words to numbers back in 2015 but I've done a lot more puzzles now.

Peter did a get job on planning and our hope to get 200 in a day looked possible. We did a few outlying ones the night before so that we could maximise the finds on Saturday with minimal driving time. We left our accommodation in Hamilton at 5.30am and were back at about 7pm with 214 caches found for the day as well as huge grins on our faces. We worked really well as Team GOLD making it a great trip.

Last time I was on the Inter Islander it was a bit rough. I had to hang out on the deck to get fresh air and distract me from rocking and rolling.

Sorry about the copy and paste logs but it's a massive logging task. Thanks Cats & Dragons for the hides and the effort required to maintain these large series Smile

19-Jan-19
Out for the weekend with Team Gold (Go 0B80B8, Liz's Crew, DaffyNZ). We have been working on the three puzzle series in the area over the last two months. Once we had them solve, we set the weekend to head south to Hamilton and collect all the caches. Thanks for the challenge. We had a great weekend trying to set some personal records for our stat,s.

03-Jan-19
Well we started off our Christmas holidays with the family in the beautiful area of Danniverke lower North Island area for a week then it was time to head North a bit more and we travelled through Napier then across the the Napier Taupo road and then further on towards the Hamilton region to get some more of the Kiwi Puzzles and Ensigns Puzzles as the last time we visited here we just got puzzles and traditional caches as we were passing by on our way to do the Eyes Puzzles. We did them with a few other geocachers. But today is the day to try and grab all the other Puzzle cachers in the area to complete some more geoart. The Geoart has been amazing thank you for placing a puzzle out here and making geocaching a challenge and enjoyable sport and the stunning area views of the countryside is lovely, so worth a drive around. We got up to have a simi early start getting the first cache at 8.20am, got this puzzle cache at 10.30am, now onto the next Puzzle cache. TFTPC log signed and placed back exactly where we found it. cache number 3 for the day.
sorry about the copy and paste. we have really enjoyed grabbing your caches and working out the puzzles.

03-Jan-19
Out caching today to get the odd traditional and puzzle in the area with family. I'm new to geocaching, it seems to get me out and about and see many new places and meet some new people. Thank you for all the great caches. Thank you for placing caches out here for all to enjoy. It takes alot of time and planning to put caches out. TFTPC signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. no muggles around nice and quiet in the area and great farm land

21-Dec-18
Solved puzzle recently with a little help from CO (thanks) on a couple of clues. Second trip to start finding a few. 3 of 33 for the day with 7 DNF. Thanks for the puzzle and caches.

17-Nov-18
Out caching again with Mr Kiwi after dropping son off at Ventures. Will do as many as we can before it gets dark and/or we need to head back to Hamilton to collect him.
Thanks again for caches C&D.

04-Jul-18
Juty Bug and I are back from the 'Naki to complete the NZ Icons after a previous trip where we completed half of this series. The day was an ideal mid Winters day and once the frost had thawed and the sun was up it was almost t-shirt weather.
As far as the caches were concerned they were well placed, a few needed some waterproof paper added and as it had been a while since last visits the geo trails were a little harder to see. It was great to complete the series apart from Buzzy Bee which looks like it is missing. Thank you for the series C&D and a couple of favourites especially for the work put in to preparing the info and putting out the caches.

04-Jul-18
Up from the Naki again with Tara Ted,this time on a quest for the Hidden Creatures. A lovely still day and so many to get! Solved the New Zealand icon puzzles earlier. Thanks Cats & Dragons TFTC

02-Apr-18
Back on the road again to finish the NZ Icons series that I started yesterday. The aim is to collect a bunch of puzzle caches so as to qualify for the Pluto Planetary Pursuit. Of the 500 points needed I will end up with about 2000, so I will be long past Pluto and Eris, and possibly somewhere in the Oort Cloud. That should qualify!

Happy Easter!

02-Apr-18
KrystalKath and I have been staying at Waihi Beach for Easter. We’ve had absolutely wonderful weather, relaxing, swimming with a little geocaching sightseeing all weekend. Today it’s finally time to go home, but first one last opportunity to get past Uranus with a few Cats&Dragons solved puzzles. Thank you for the opportunity and TFTC.
*For what it’s worth my first crossing of the Strait was on the Union Steamship Company’s *Maori,* where the cars were lifted into a hold and passengers were accommodated in cabins for the overnight trip from Wellington to Lyttelton. In 1965 the *Maori* was converted to the first Roll On Roll Off ferry.*

31-Mar-18
Another cache run for the Planetary Pursuit challenge, grabbing a few caches, mainly more geoart for those extra points, and to tidy up more of the art in the first place.

A quick search and find, it was well camo in the darkness. Nice to tick off though as I've come past a couple times and it's been bad timing on my part.

TFTC Cats&Dragons, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 2 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #1780

02-Mar-18
Took me a while to locate this one. Forgot to check on the hint initially too. Quite a lot of rubbish near GZ and, today, didn't have a big enough bag to collect it. Signed the log in the end though. Love this series Cats&Dragons, thanks for all the effort that went in to creating it and maintaining it. This was one of my solves back in June 2016 so glad to turn it into a yellow smile today.

22-Dec-17
this was going to be a big day the aim was to get to 100, we didnt quite make it but we werent rushed and didnt start until around 9am, the weather was on our side and got a little burnt even with all the sunscreen I had on, hubby did all the driving and didnt whine once, but this was my christmas gift so it wouldnt have been fitting, thank you to the COs and the effort put into putting out the caches for us to find, we replaced logs where we could.

13-Dec-17
We were heading south with Aiden29, Merlot58 and McJandals to complete the Kiwi Art and NZ Icon series. It was a hot summer day and we were grateful for the air conditioning in the car, as we leapt in and out of the car along the back country roads. Signed in as JAMM to save space and time. Thanks for the series, and the effort that went into creating them.

09-Dec-17
A plan was made to venture down from Auckland to knock off the Kiwi Art and NZ Icon series with Jag50 and Aiden29. We met up with McJandals at Gordonton and set off on a hot summers day to drive the country roads. We signed as JAMM to save space and time. Thanks for the series.

09-Dec-17
Came down here today with urbangypsynz & Gorbygorbachov to get the Icons Series which we had completed a while ago and after a great day of scratches, prickles, rashes, sunburn and even a little bleeding, we got them all. TFTC and for the great series. I will certainly sleep well tonite. (Sorry for the repetitive logs) This was 1/76 out of 84 we got today. Logs signed as JUG

09-Dec-17
Fabulous day out with Auckland Crew, Have signed Log as JAMM to save room on the log sheet, a lot of this trail I will be logging as TFTC so that I can keep track of where I am, Many Thanks for setting up these geo art series, obviously alot of work has been done in setting these up, Much Appreciated. Cheers

09-Dec-17
I headed down from Auckland to complete the Kiwi Art Project series with merlot58 and Jag50. Met up with McJandals from Tauranga to finally make the finds after solving the puzzles awhile ago. We had completed the Kiwi Art series by lunchtime, so continued on to the NZ Icon series. We signed as JAMM to save time and space on the log. Thanks for the series.

09-Dec-17
Out of the three series NZ Icons for me was the hardest to solve, but solve it we did. Today Jard, Gorby and I left Auckland at the crack of dawn to head down to collect the solves before it got too hot, but unfortunately the bulk were done in heat. Log signed as JUG. Amazed at the effort that has gone into putting this series together.

Remembering the frequent industrial action, every holiday break there was a strike.

09-Dec-17
Today was set several weeks ago by me and urbangypsynz and Jard1037 to come and find this quite complex NZ Icon series. A lot of hard work has gone into solving these, I have to admit I relied a bit on my fellow cachers to help solve them since I was also busy at the time making and placing caches, there are just so many hours in 1 day!

But after a nice breakfast at Nikki’s Café in Huntly around 7:30am we 3 converged here after a few other local caches along the way. This was our first cache of the series and I see now that fellow cachers also from West Auckland: Jag50 and Aiden29 and merlot58 also came down today to do this series and the C.O’s Kiwi one. But you would think we might bump into each other somewhere along the way – but no that never happened! Never found out until the next day that they even came down this way.

Love the series Steve, us 3 replaced several caches that have been lost, and several more again full logs or wet paper with new paper. No worries about that. But quite a few caches might need looking at though. Had a fantastic day and no DNF’s.

Signed in as J.U.G. (Jard, Urbangypsy, Gorby)

Day two of my wee holiday in the Waikato region. I woke up this morning to the sound of steady rain on my tin roof, but I don't let a bit of water stop me caching as I have a good jacket, wet weather pants and no problem with wet feet.

After a quick breakfast, I was out the door early, with my main focus completing the icons series and making inroads into the Kiwi Art series.

I didn't any problems answering the questions in this set of four and the cache was also a quick find here today. TFTC

31-Jul-17
Decided to make the most of this sunny afternoon and bundled Sharkboy into the car with some bribery McDonalds, a book and his homework so he could keep busy while I did some caches. A pleasant drive in the countryside and glad to knock a few more of this series off.

Was looking a lot higher than I needed too. Soon spotted the good sized cache

30-Jul-17
Thanks C& D for great series I appreciate your efforts ....I still have a lot to log ....but this sure has brought back some great memories tftc

30-Jul-17
Woke up to a frosty but beautiful day. Nahkins and I decided to set out and find some of the caches from the NZ series. We had solved the puzzle a couple of weeks ago. 4 of the questions had us stumped so geocacher received a work-out. We did 44 caches with only 1 DNF. It was the only hanging one on the list for the day. I came home with a few thorns in my hands. Had a lady following us on Tahuroa road as she thought we were dropping off stray kittens. Another find. Log is a bit damp. TFTC.

30-Jul-17
This one didn't give me any grief thank goodness. Thanks CatandDragons

30-Jul-17
Woke up to a gorgeous & beautiful day although frosty to start with. NZPatoto and I decided to set out and find some of the caches from the NZ series. I did the driving as NZPatoto had done the hard work in solving most of the puzzles. I helped with the tricky ones (using excel). The geocacher received a work-out. Of the 44 caches completed only 1 DNF. #16 of 44 easy find, log damp but able to sign. Thanks for the time and effort to create this series. Big Grin

25-Apr-17
Getting towards the end of a long day's caching. TFTC.

01-Apr-17
After solving the Kiwi Art & the Kiwiana series a few months ago, we decided to make a weekend of it and get them all over 2 days with an overnight stay in Hamilton. Apologies for the cut & paste blurb, due to the sheer number of logs we decided this would be the easiest way to post them all, but will add individual notes as we go along. We had a lovely adventure, good weather and managed to find all but 5 caches in both series, so feel pretty chuffed! Enjoyed the challenge with all the puzzles, took a while to track down all the answers but learned lots long the way. Thanks to Cats & Dragons for such an extensive series of puzzles, we appreciate the work that must’ve gone into setting these up. TFTC 

Grabbed while doing the Art Trail with Mr and Mrs 2BB, all in good order. BB

12-Feb-17
I was in Hamilton for the weekend for the Dahlia Show. Today I planned to find 120+ caches - found 41 of the pack of cards series, 49 Kiwi Art Project series, and now some more New Zealand Icons. Cool 125 caches for the day. Cool Thanks Cats&Dragons for this New Zealand Icons series.

25-Oct-16
Day 9 of our Mega Roadtrip. Today we were traveling from Taupo up to do the NZ Icons/Kiwi Art Project powertrails all before meeting my brother in Hamilton who was driving down from Auckland for a surprise visit. We did have a driving plan and order of caches but that was all thrown out the window when we got here. Thankfully we had a 100% find rate of 84 caches all before finishing at 5pm - just imagine if we couldve kept going. I enjoyed solving most of these puzzles a few months ago in anticipation of our trip but a few needed a firmer hand and a little abuse of the geochecker. Most were signed as g7+M in purple. I apologise for the mostly copy/paste logs but BIG Thanks to Cats&Dragons for making the puzzles and setting up the trail. A nice quick find here. We tipped alot of water out of the container. Thanks for the smilie Smile

24-Oct-16
Day six of my NZ geoadventure begun in Turangi and ended in Hamilton.
Logging this massive geoart was a priority for me, I had after all spent a lot of time solving the puzzles.
After a bit of a rut I was caching along fine here, food almost in sight!

Thanks a lot Cats&Dragons

Sorry about the copy paste logs

12-Oct-16
Morrinsville Day 2 on the NZ icon trail.
Grass is long in many places, I suppose that can be expected as many had not been found for many months. A few showers of rain to contend with.
Overall a good series. So much to be learnt while googling my answers.
Thanks for placing this cache Cats&Dragons

02-Jun-16
Steed is on his bike for the second time this week, collecting enough of these hard earned caches to take our total to 2,999 finds, in preparation for our 3,000th.
We have enjoyed answering the questions, although we always find an ambiguity which makes coming up with a correct answer difficult. We still haven't got green ticks for all of them, but more than enough for our current goal.
Thanks for this geoart series, it has exercised both grey matter and muscles. My apologies for the cut and paste, it's about the first time I've done it, but I wasn't there to make individual notes.

30-Apr-16
This is my short log of TNXPro, Philip.Perry and Davidsonclan’s (Dave, Philip and Bruce’s) mission together over the 500km/16 hour return trip/150 cache hunt for all the caches + extras. You can see [**my full log**](http://coord.info/GLMTFJM0) at the start of each series.

We signed the logs as DPB (or an anagram of depending on who signed it).

Thanks for the awesome challenge.

30-Apr-16
Thanks Cats and Dragons for a fantastic series of caches I teamed up with Philip.Perry and Tnxpro to get these caches a lot of fun but very tiring by the end of the day.
Very well set up puzzles and hides.

30-Apr-16
The caches all tend to blur into one but from what I can remember this cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward hint and placement.

Cheers for the company TNXPro and DavidsonClan and looking forward to the next series C&D Smile
A full log can be found here at [Kiwi Art Project # K-01](http://coord.info/GLMTFVW4) if you wanted to read more on our adventure.

09-Apr-16
We were looking forward to completing this series and had a fun day collecting them on these back country roads.

Some were quick and easy and others took a bit of a search. The boxthorn on some has become quite overgrown, so still removing a few splinters from my fingers Wink.

Thanks Cats&Dragons for taking the time to place this fun puzzle series.

09-Apr-16
1714 This mornings mission was to finish this series. All but 3 found. Thought this might have been a challenge to find because of the rubbish in the area. But then I spotted it not amongst the rubbish.

09-Apr-16
Another good New Zealand Icon cache find with Just-Lookin.
We enjoyed the drive around the area.

Thanks for the fun series Cats&Dragons!

10-Mar-16
Found when picking up a couple of previous DNF's with my muggle hubbie today. I emptied water out of the container, but the log is inside another container which is dry fortunately. TFTC and the series Smile

31-Jan-16
#11197. We enjoyed our day out on the KAT in the gently rolling hills south of Morrinsville (an area I hadn't visited before). TFTC

31-Jan-16
I had solved the New Zealand Icons series of puzzles last year hoping we would be in the area some time to make the finds and today was the day. StreetWalker, chief navigator, worked out the optimal route, and cunningly scheduled arriving in Morrinsville at morning coffee time. We found 80 caches altogether, our best day out for some time, in fact our second best tally ever. We found all but 2 of the series, with 1 DNF (Bruce McLaren) and one we didn't look for (Kakapo, which has had a string of DNFs).
A bit rubbishy here but luckily cache didn't take long to track down. TFTC.

26-Jan-16
Once the muggles moved on this one was quickly to hand.

26-Jan-16
Had to wait for some truckies having smoko break. Tftc

26-Jan-16
After waiting for some muggles to move along we quickly zoned in.

02-Dec-15
Was going to head north today for some caches but heavy traffic made me come this way instead so decided to finish this series off with my last 3.
Thanks for the awesome series of caches Smile

Cache in good condition

01-Dec-15
Tftc! One of many kiwiana caches tackled today.

01-Dec-15
Thanks for setting up this awesome series! We solved the puzzles some time ago and finally got out for a drive with thescoobydoos to find about half of them today. TFTC

30-Nov-15
Dear Cats& Dragons - we're visiting from the US and would love to do your geocaches but can't begin to figure any of them out ... are they only meant for NZers who have inside info???
If not, can you tell us how to do them please? We are in the area for 2 weeks so have time if you could just explain them to us please and then we'll delete this message. THANKS Smile

11-Nov-15
A muggle was parked here when we arrived so had a cuppa first before having a look without being too obvious. Nearly gave up on this one but found it in the end. tftc

01-Oct-15
OK. This is it. Today is the day to clean up the Waikato GeoArt.

28 more Kiwi Art found and 24 more NZ Icons later out of 60 finds and that's me done for another year in the Waikato. Back next year, I hope, to see if I can find the 3 or 4 that I either couldn't find or got muggled out of this trip.

Massive series. Most enjoyable. Have sat on the solved puzzles for quite some time so it is good to actually be up this way to collect the smilies. Parking was very challenging at times as advertised.

Thanks for all the effort that you have put into this "Geo Art".
TFTC

12-Sep-15
boxhill's "Big Day Out". I started at 7am and finished around 10pm. Total tally of finds for the day was 147 with the odd DNF here and there. I enjoyed solving the puzzles, and the drive around finding them was fun as well. Cheers and TFTC

14-Jun-15
Not sure what to look for, several containers could have been the cache. There was a lot of rubbish & dead fish so didn't investigate very well. There was a container that looked likely but i was a bit scared of what I might find so left it.

03-Apr-15
All good with the cache - we chose this spot for our morning cuppa; nicely off the road and not too much traffic.

05-Mar-15
Find #3 in the series for me. See my log on GC4WEF2 for series summary.

This was a good sized container, but it still took me a while to locate. Thanks!

23-Feb-15
Certainly a real kiwi icon, and have had many sailings over the years. Nice to get another in the series while making the most of a pleasant evening. TFTC Cats&Dragons, #7612, a fav

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] Razz
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands Red Face[8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list Cool
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches Surprised
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches Wink
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution Cool
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]

During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC Sad
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:

Chapter 22: [red]Hamilton[/red]
Today we were looking for the next two geocaching arts Razz
Both created and maintained from [Navy]'Cats&Dragons'[/Navy] [:X]
In total more than 120 unknown caches Surprised

Although every unknown cache is rated with less than D3 it was real hard work to solve all of the puzzles [8)]
But after a week of research and some glues from the owner it was done Cool

Unfortunately it was raining this morning...nevertheless we could find all of the caches in less than 7 hours Big GrinCoolSmile

I would like to thank [Navy]'Cats&Dragons'[/Navy] for these great cache series,

I don't usually like cut / paste / template logs but will make exceptions for 'power trails'. I became aware of this puzzle series a while ago. I knew that work would bring me back to this region some time so in my spare time I worked on solving the puzzles. Very interesting facts and trivia all about NZ. Plenty of stuff I had no idea about myself and just a few things I did actually know without having to look it up. I had that job done a couple of weeks ago and as luck would have it my real job brought me back here this week. I made sure I had some spare time to get around as many of the caches as I could. Today was my second bite at the trail. I had a later start for work today so managed to get another couple of hours done in the early hours of the morning. I've had a great run so far. Thanks for setting up all these caches and TFTC, Biggles.

After reading the recent DNF's and spending some time trying to find this one, we presumed that this cache was missing. So we have put another cache container in it's place.

---

On a mission with Keylev, NZTravellers, Stik-a-crane, Eir-ot, Hinemoana & Agazo. We did both “Kiwi Art Project” and “NZ Icons”, and a few random traditional’s on the way.

Was a great day out. Left Auckland just before 8am and got back just after 8pm. We got almost 150 caches in the day….had a great time doing it. I think I got Sun burnt over my sun burn from yesterday.

Thanks for Taking the time to put this series out.

A group of 8 of us set out today to find all the NZ and Kiwi Art series that had been solved a while back. It was a great day and we covered many km's whilst exploring the Waikato outback.

Thanks so much for all the work and effort that went into setting these up and for giving us the excuse to visit this area. Log signed as TAS.

Originally, we were going to do this series after Kiwi Art Project, but decided to do this first so we could catch up with HeMaLuDy in the afternoon. Our team consisted of NZTravellers, keylev, UncleSamNZ , Stik-a-crane , Hinemoana, and me. We had to use two cars to cart us all around. The logs were signed as TAS because this was a SATurday and we were into spelling things backwards. We worked through the series quickly to complete it in about three-and-a-half hours, including a few others that were not in the series. Many thanks to Cats&Dragons for setting up and maintaining this series.

On a lovely Waitangi Weekend a few of us planned an epic Waikato trip to complete two puzzle series and a few trads along the way. Team TAS was formed for the day – Stik-a-crane, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Hinemoana, Agazo, Eri-ot and NZTravellers. We drove over 500km over a 12 hour day and had a blast! Between bugs, shrubbery, thorny blackberry bushes and a close encounter with an electric fence we cached our hearts out! Stopped at Gordonton for a well earned icecream and headed home again, tired and happy!

Thanks to team TAS for an awesome day out and a HUGE thank you to Cats&Dragons for placing these two series !

Teamed up with amazing crazy cachers for a fun filled day in the Waikato! Our main aims involved the kiwi icons and art - very appropriate weekend to be having fun with these [^] Additionally for me, this year I will celebrate 20 years in New Zealand, so plenty of time to get familiar with the topics covered - still plenty to learn also. We also found some cool trads, both on the way and once we finished the trails with time to cache some more. Team TAS had a ball, thank you heaps!!!

Come and join us at the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register now at http://www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. Let us know you are coming by posting a 'will attend' at http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC587BC_nz-mega-christchurch-2015 It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

A few weeks before our travel to New Zealand, we started solving the puzzles in this series, and within a couple of days we had "green light" in the geochecker for all of them. For us it was very interesting to solve the puzzles, because we learned a lot about the NZ history, people, culture, flora, fauna, products and so on, as we were surfing on the internet. We enjoyed that very much Smile.

Today we decided to go out and find the caches, and after approximately 5 hours 30 minutes we had signed all the logbooks. Some of the boxes were in a rather poor condition, but they were there, and we found them Smile. It is rather difficult to remember all the caches, so our logs wil be the same for most of the caches, but at some of them we have written shortly about the specific cache.

Thanks to Cats&Dragons for the caches, and especially for all the interesting puzzles Smile.

Find 11. After a day or two of solving these with iammrwalker, made some finds to bring my finds up to 999 ready for milestone cache #1000.

A nice spot this one, right before confusion and heading down the wrong road. Ooops! U-turn time...

I decided to drop off a TB I have been holding onto for way to long here figuring this series would be popular over the summer break while people are on holidays.

Tufty rang me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I was ready to pick up the Icon series, no I wasnt but we picked a date and Vistra joined us as well, now I had a deadline to solve them, 11pm the night before and I still had a few to go, so contacted Tufty and got what was required. Earlyish start the next morning and we were on the road.

Caches were for the majority an easy find, we found 74 of the 76 and DNF'd two. Thanks for setting up the series, I have learnt more about NZ, enjoyed the drive, the company and the gorgeous scenery in the area.

I had decided a few weeks back that I would have a go at solving all the puzzles in the ICON series, all 76 of them. It took a couple of days to complete this task. Then I mentioned the mission to Yorkshirekiwi83 and she said that she would like to come but hadn't solved them. So she picked a day that she would have them finished by and be ready to go.

She then mentioned this Vistra who in turn then emailed me asking if he could join the mission. No problems, all the more the merrier, says I.

So, today dawned a little cloudy but the forecast was good and at 0730 the chocks were removed and we were rolling down the motorway.

We weren't going very far south so there was no need to book a passge on the Interislander even if it wasn't the Awatere.

Cheers for the cache.

Out for a caching day in the Waikato, together with Yorkshirekiwi83 and Tufty, with our primary focus being the NZ icons series. I started looking at the puzzles when they were first published, but made pretty slow progress on them. Then with today being set aside as the day to do the series, I had to go about finishing off solving the puzzles, with the last puzzle being solved at 1:30am this morning!! It was a lovely spring day in the Waikato, where we found all but 2 of the caches in the series. Thanks for the effort that has gone into putting this series together and apologies for the generic log! TFTC!

Today was the day to knock the rest of this series off with co-solvers Team HeMaLuDy.
It had been a few months since we had our first attempt at locating these and finally had spare time to complete (hopefully) the series.
Log book and inside of cache was very wet and sorry we did not bring any plastic bags to preserve the logs, but we also know that putting a wet log in a dry bag only leads to condensation and more moisture, so the logs need drying before placing in new dry homes...

Again thanks Cats&Dragons for this series. Razz

Managed to wrap up this awesome Kiwi Icon Series after many hours of solving the puzzles. Much FUN and laughter all the way round on such beautiful country and scenery roads. Phew - NOW after a yummy late lunch it"s time for a whole lot more Km's collecting as many Kiwi Art Series as can before midnight Smile. Just loved the whole Challenge between both of your wonderful series thankyou. Smile. ( Just not so some of the barberry war wounds ). Yahoo I made it Smile:).

An enjoyable series of puzzles, a great theme. Enjoyed the lovely sunny day and roaming around the Waikato back roads in search of the caches today. Some logs a little damp but admired the clever use of containers in that respect

Many thanks for the series Cats&Dragons

A nice series of caches, solved at home, and collected today. A really nice part of the Waikato, unvisited till now. Signed the logs fully or initials only. Some logs were pretty wet, and some replaced upside down so that water could easily enterSad. Dried and replaced as best I could. Thanks for the hide.

Gabelstapler! Friztenburger! Herbs! Chickens! Very Happy

Found with alpenmilch80 and vamber out collecting the New Zealand Icon series, and signed as "Vas…". A fun afternoon's caching in great company. It was great finally to visit the area in the day! Wink

Managed to snag them all but the All Blacks Jersey, so one more visit at some point!

Thanks!

Started around noon together with Team Vamber and slieschke to drive down south to collect most of the NZ Icons. It took us well into the night time to finish all of them before heading back to Huntley for a well-deserved dinner. Just one Icon gave us some confusion but we will be back for it in no time. It was a great day out collecting smileys, exchanging stories and having some good laughs. Signed the log as "Vas..." .Thanks Cats&Dragons for another awesome trail educating me about the Kiwi slang. TFTC

Today, we headed into the area to tackle the Kiwi Icon Trail with alpenmilch80 and slieschke. Overall, we achieved finding 75/76 of the Icons (we'll be back for you soon, All Black Jersey!), plus a few trads and a multi. We had a great time, introducing the German to some classic, Kiwiana, coming up with random/made-up German words to signify finding the cache container, chasing chickens/dinner and some classic Kiwi music on the stereo. Solving these puzzles were also a lot of fun, and we now know more about Hay Baling than we ever needed to know. All the paper logs have been signed as "VAS..." for efficiency, Thanks for the company, alpenmilch80 and slieschke and thanks for the great puzzle trail, Cats&Dragons! Big Grin
