We had had a couple of DNFs in the Rolleston area on our last caching raid, so this afternoon we returned to hopefully turn some into , and also to look for some more in both the Crusader and AB series.
A nice easy find but log book is in a bad way, it's quite sodden. Managed to get our names on the paper with a felt type pen, but suspect you will need to put a new log book inside another inner container to keep it dry. Didn't bother zipping up plastic bag as it would then go mouldy. TFTC.

Country caching free of muggles. Cache container leaks badly - full of water, needs maintenance. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2484)
With a trip to Chch planned it was time look at which caches we would hunt down while in the area. The first thing I noticed was a cluster of puzzles that I could solve with relative ease so I set to work doing so. Although most were straight forward a few took a little more work to arrive at an agreement with the geochecker. With Canterbury being almost a clean slate for us it wasn't hard to find plenty of other caches to supplement the puzzles and we had a great day caching, 87 finds in all.The logs were signed HZ+HM, H+H, or in some cases with our full names.
Thank you to all cache owners who made this possible.
It was a combination of holidays, family visit and caching. Since our last visit lots of trails have appeared and there were many puzzles to be solved. And a lot of trads thrown in for good measure of course. We almost forgot what it's like to be cut, scraped, prodded, pricked, bruised and stabbed by the large variety of hedges you can find caches under in Canterbury. We were not deterred and it was fun to find them. Thank you BBear44
Out on a run to Ashburton with KCN for the Waitangi Day event.
Off to a slow stat with a DNF on the first cache but ended up with 17 smilies for the day.
Ketchup or tomato sauce? Am sure there is a difference.
This was an easy find and our first smilie for the day was soon had.

Well the omen from the first not found didn't follow us to this one. RuruNZ and I heading out for the day after a long hiatus away from caching. Glad to get the mojo back on this one. I prefer Watties Tomato Sauce myself but then what's the difference its all tomatoes (or is it?)
Grabbed while going to moorepark for the speedway, cheers. Was going to give up on this one as out GPS and two phone were sending us around 30mts away on the otherside of the road and by the looks of the vegetation a few others have been looking at that b post as well. Back in 2 weeks for more speedway so hope to finish the series
I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms from from not doing a lot of caches in a day. The previous 8 days I had only found 15 caches. A sad state of affairs. Time to remedy it.
Cheers for the cache.

This cache was a cherry bright sight this morning in the gloomy foggy morning. TFTC BBear44
A quick park and grab on way home from the mega in Christchurch. It has been an awesome weekend away to my first mega. TFTC ☺
Love the cache. Apologies for being so late logging this. Found during the Mega weekend. TFTC.
Day 5 of the Awesome Mega Adventure and Guwapo, Mama and Papa have joined the DCC crew for a days caching. Salamat!
A beautiful, sunny day and road full of caches, what could be better! Found with the DCC2
Final morning our caching with the DCC group before heading back to Dunedin. Loved driving and grabbing these ones.
With so many eyes, this one didn't take long to find. Found with the Dunedin Caching Crew (DCC2)
Traveling home fom Mega. Taking the long way. Day 4. CACHING with DCC 2, Dunedin caching crew. TFTC!
Found during the Mega weekend on bit of a tiki-tour around the Canterbury back blocks. Great weather, great caches, great fun! Thanks to all the cache owners for putting out and maintaining caches for us to find. All in all, a fun road trip with Boxhill and Yeetrees, we signed many of the logsheets as YGB to save both time and logsheet spaces.

In town for a “Mega” weekend of caching. I joined up with Yeetrees and gonefishing to form Team YGB. I really enjoyed exploring the country roads of Canterbury. We travelled a fair few Kilometres in the 4 days we were here, and had a great time, with a lot of laughs along the way. Good weather, and good company. It doesn’t get much better than that does it.
Sunday. Day Three, Area 3. And we're off to an area that I dubbed “South of the River” when I was planning things. A nice sunny day but with a cool breeze, the promised afternoon showers didn’t eventuate either.
Thanks to all the CO’s for all the caches we found. Cheers and TFTC

Our team for the Mega weekend was signing as VYV (Vamber, Yorkshirekiwi83 and Vistra). we found quite a few in the short space of time we were together, where I can I will make comments about the cache. We had teamed up back in Auckland and had been busy planning what we were going to target and in what order, of course plans changed even more so when we were down here, but that is part of what makes it fun and I had a great time over the weekend, thanks to all the CO's for placing.

Tackling caches in Canterbury with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 on a crazy numbers run for the Christchurch Mega. After some smurfin' good fun, it was time to grab some other hides with a different theme, this time, fruit and veg!
No problems here. Thanks for the hide!

Today I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 and vamber to hit a couple of the cache trails around Christchurch and find a few other caches along the way. We signed the logs as "VYV" to save time and space on the log. After working on the Smurfs series we toured some of the back roads picking up a few more caches before heading back to the Mega event. TFTC!

A straight drive in the cold sun shine to take our find totals into double figures. Thanks.
Aha. Of course. A while since I've seen one of those but very appropriate for a NZ ketchup cache. TFTH .
Dropped off my daughter to St John at West Melton school amd decided to pick up a few cache at the end of this Geocaching month, picked up this saucy number a nice quick park n grab...signed the log. Thanks for bringing me here to this place, TFTC BBear44, from TeamMcI, 31 August 2015 18:25, cache number #909!
A quick find on my way back to Christchurch via the back road. I like the containers used in the series. TFTC
All good, another straight forward find in this series in which I'm starting to accumulate a few finds. TFTC BBear44, #7977
Back down this way for a work related conference for the rest of the week, but only have the opportunity for a vehicle for a single evening before having to return it to my cousin for work tomorrow. So while here, and not wanting to miss out on the fun that is "The Cache" I worked out that I could collect a few this evening.
Heading out of town in an unfamiliar vehicle it was a bit nerve racking (no good returning a dented vehicle) but managed to make a collect in the area that I was targeting and still managed to return the car at a reasonable hour.
This was the eleventh of the evening and with all the cars rushing past on their way from home extra care was required to show that not all the time I drive like a cacher
thanks for the placement

Surprised by a cyclist coming up behind us but we weren't muggled. I wonder what people think when they see people standing randomly by the road and/or looking under trees and bushes?
Found on an outing with AAMOFIDOTR. Great container but expected after the last TNLN. TFTC.
Working in the Area with my good friend Geco72 so thought it was time to grab a few caches. TFTC
An hour to "waste" after work finished, before a work dinner so Mr Casserly used it productively to grab a few more caches in the area...By this stage I had worked out what I was looking for, and another quick find. TFTC
Out caching with Mr 2wombles in Wert Melton area. A straightforward find. Thanks for the cache.
After my work meetings finished I had time to go out and find a few caches before I had to head to the airport and home. Not sure if I managed 5+ from this series but I certainly found more than 5 caches today. Quick find here. TFTC, Biggles.
After a couple of months of solving puzzles, decided to head down to Christchurch and tackle a "few" caches in the Rolleston area.
It was such fun finding all these great containers

In Canterbury area for 2 weeks on a home exchange from California. Unfortunately our 2Degree smart phone service did not work in the area around Darfield/Glentunnel & Whitecliffs. However, we found that the c:geo app. still showed a compass to direct us to caches which we had downloaded while in a wifi area. We found 7 today around Darfield and West Melton.
Geocaching in California you have to be careful not to get into poison oak which gives you a bad rash. You also have to watch out for rattlesnakes. I've never been bitten but have seen a few rattlers while geocaching. It is a pleasure to geocache in New Zealand without those worries.
Thanks for your contribution to this worldwide game.

This was a fast find and I was starting to get very hot as it was turning into a warm day.
Some cachers of British origin may well remember the days in the UK when Wimpey decided they would start a chain of burgers joints - these were way cool to teenagers. Central to a Wimpey "restaurant" was the fake tomato with ketchup inside. Very radical for UK in the 60's. It wasn't until my first visit to the USA that I discovered how awful Wimpey Burgers were! Great memories from this cache!
Easy find once duck and ducklings had moved on. C relieved they didn't cross the road. 11 caches on 11/11. TFTC
Out this way at the Highland Games, thought we could knock off a few caches on the way home. Found, signed and returned. Thanks.
Log is getting damp.
