After my success in finding Currimundi Lake-Swamp Mahogany I gave this one other go (my 3rd attempt!!) on my way back to the car but no luck. Could the CO confirm its still there please.
Out for a paddle day on the Sunny Coast with a specific goal of collecting T5's. My targets for the day were the Maroochy River and the Coolum, Paynters, Eudlo Creeks and Currimundi Lake.
Arrived by kayak, landed close by. Cache no longer attached to tether, might require maintenance.
---
This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #2600. Thanks **jank13** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

I was a bit daunted by the description and the terrain rating of this one but given that others had found the cache without watercraft I thought I would give it a go. Access to GZ is on an easy, well defined path from Honeywood Court. No sign that any of the path or GZ are on private property - certainly no fences. The provision of a park bench at the water’s edge seems to back this up. However, the cache was not to be found.
The ease with which I got to GZ suggests that the terrain rating should be 2.0 at the most. To class it as a 5.0 is just plain ridiculous.
Came back after finding the cache further up the lake thinking that this one might be like that. However it was not to be - the cache refused to reveal itself. This cache has not been found for some 3 months so it might have gone missing..

A fun day Friday with IolantheK and Brother Colin. We parked the car not too far away and made the short bush bash along to this one. It was nice and high out of the way of the water. TFTC jank13
Out and about with Nurseyjulie & IolantheK today finding caches in the area.
We walked to this one.
A quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Our maiden voyage in our new (to us) canoe. Slowly zig zagging our way up the creek. Bumping into every log/tree on the way before arriving at GZ. Carefully dismount with my eye on what I think will be a good place and what do you know, there it was all cozy tucked away in its little nook. TFTC!
Out for a paddle on Currimundi Lake on a beautiful sunny day. Lovely peaceful paddling away from the majority of other kayakers. Under 2 bridges and a bit further from the houses and we pulled up close to gz. I jumped out and spotted the cache in its cosy nook. Quick sign and ungracefully back into the kayak that J had pulled up alongside. Handy to have the double kayak so one person can paddle while the other can check the gps for direction and distance. A in the single kayak kept close but at her own pace.
On a bit further to the next one.
Impressed with all the rope swings - obviously this creek is the scene for some death defying stunts at times.

Find #483: Currimundi Lake - Wallum Hakea on the 2 July 2015
Today's caching adventure involved my sister telling me she wanted to go on a bike ride and me conveniently selecting a route with geocaches. Win win? Not what she thought but I got my smilies!
I have been here many a time before. Both with a water vessel and without and each time failed to find the cache! This was mostly to do with a miss understanding of the way the cache was intented to be found. Accessed by water but found from dry land! After a quick PAF to find that out we returned for a look from a new perspective. Found within seconds! Thanks for the hint spinna76! Signed and replaced!

We had decided to try to complete the Difficulty / Terrain challenge and chose an area on the Sunshine Coast to target at least twenty-five different D/T combinations. This cache has the added advantage of also helping us with the Average Cacher Challenge so it is an extra bonus find for us today.
We initially approached ground zero from the path but after a short search failed to locate the cache so we launched our kayak and headed off to another in the series. On our return in the kayak, we soon had the cache in hand after a short search.
Thank you for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy jank13.

Out and about today grabbing caches, us Parko's were on a mission
We decided to attack this one without a watercraft and headed along the path. Had to bush bash a bit but found the cache after a short search.

We have done alot of exploring around these parts on foot & by canoe, but whilst on holidays to the area our only option was by foot… This was a quick find & the kids made it all the way with there scooters
TFTC & for bringing us back to this lovely area jank13 [^]

Day four of my camping and caching trip to the Sunny Coast. Today was going to be a Whacky Wednesday out hunting some puzzles and other interesting caches with IolantheK.
It was very peaceful out here along the creek this afternoon. Was saw one kayak with some young girls go by, but that was the only sign of human life.
A nice quick find at GZ thanks.

Out with teamdfl for a Wacky Wednesday
A very clear and unobstructed walk along the edge of the river brought us to GZ, where the cache was a quick find. Love the hiding spot. TFTC, jank13.

After a disappointing failure to tick a D/T box elsewhere today, I was keen to see if this one was achievable instead. I was particularly interested in seeing if this was gettable legitimately on foot (though I'm hoping for a kayak for Christmas).
Well, we parked nearby and went for a little stroll along the public path, and kept going to the bench and beyond... And found the coords to be perfect and the cache in beautiful condition. Looks completely public and legal to me. Perhaps conditions have changed since the cache was placed?
I must say the GZ here is stunning in its serenity and I would love to go for a big paddle all the way along (when I get my kayak). TFTC where all is fantastic.

#607 @ 11:05AM Quick find without a drop of wetness and no private property to be found. All good here. ~ TFTC jank13
Out grabbing a few Smilies in the sunshine today. spinna76 found this one and wrote all our names in the log while the kids pretended to fish. TFTC jank13
Another beautiful day and we enjoyed visiting friends of the Sunshine coast. Managed to combine our visit with some geocaching. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Nice one [^][^] Thanks to jank13.
TFTC, found with xXKstroXx, we didn't come prepared so we just dove in and got the cache haha
All these caches along here by the CO were drip fed and I somehow missed out on attending to this one when it was first published. However, today was the day when I had the lovely company of suzysquirrel and she escorted me to the cache on our way to Swamp Mahoney on foot.
Thanks to jank13 for the cache and suzysquirrel for escorting me, and supplying a pen, as usual it seems.

Out for a afternoon drive, and picked up some caches while in the area.
Decided to have a go at this one, and were happy to add our name to the log.
Many thanks for placing this cache, jank13, for us and others to find.

#7858. Went out for a late afternoon walk to find a couple of caches. We followed a track all the way to GZ, with nothing to indicate we had entered private property. TFTC.
We went out for a walk before dinner and just happened past a cache or two en route .
GPsr coverage was not great at GZ but it didn't take StreetWalker long to spot the cache - in a place that I had a quick check of but obviously not well enough. TFTC.

Spending the day out with Nyssa on her magic flying carpet, grabbing some high terrain caches for a challenge cache she wanted to grab on the weekend!
This one had me stumped! I was looking in all the wrong places and my GPS had me running in circles! SO glad Nyssa was on the ball today otherwise this log wouldn't exist!!

Today Angela and Dave (minus Dave) and myself chose to jump on my magic carpet and fly to GZ. Once there it didn't take me long to hunt down the well hidden cache. Not sure what Angela was doing back there We signed the log and then replaced the cache as we had found it....
Thanks for the cache jank13

Paddled upstream to this one from our last DNF. Found this one ok but did not have. A pen so scratched a Mark in the log. very peaceful area. thx jank13 for the hide.
Found this one fairly quickly. Had a couple of geostalkers on our tails.. lucky we knew them! Nice cache, thanks!
Came back here for the second time and found it fairly quickly this time. Good hide, TFTC.
After a DNF headed off to another cache! Great day for a bush walk. Had a couple of Cachers behind us so did a side track & pulled in behind them in stealth mode (see picture). After they left, went & signed the cache before heading off to next find. TFTC
Was not sure how and if I was going to be able to tackle these "Currumundi Lake" caches and kept checking the logs to see who had found them. after seeing a few logs saying they were land accessible I had a go. It was only a very short walk from the cul de sac to GZ but then a longer search ensued, after about 10 minutes I spotted something not quite right and there was the cache. tftc jank13
I had to have a go at this one even though I didn't have exactly the right equipment, being as my snowmobile is still out of action . I made my way carefully along my chosen access and found a lovely specimen of a Wallum Hakea that even had a few flowers open. I thought "Eureka, this was easy, it pays to know your flora" but after giving said flora a thorough going over, it was evident that perhaps I should look further afield and maybe not be so "species specific"! A likely place soon yielded the cache and I signed the dry papers.
Thanks for this one in a lovely location!

#372~ Parked nearby and went for a wander to find the rope swing the kids knew about, before searching for this one. Wasn't entirely sure what 'preform tube' meant so went on my gut feeling and picked the right spot. Suzy's_sidekick vocalised to that_tree_climber that I have mad caching skills. Only spent about twenty minutes here, including the rope swing visit, taking photos and the five minutes searching so hope nobody is put off doing this by the terrain rating. TFTC jank13
Net88 and I were enjoying a day out geocaching in the area although getting towards the end of daylight. This little icon made it through the filter of caches to find today and so I set course for the closest on road spot. After cutting a blocky, I parked us up and we had a look at the cache page and confusion reigned supreme.
It is listed as a terrain 5 and suggests it is only accessible by watercraft but logs suggest otherwise. I trusted the logs and we headed in for a look. As suggested there is a well beaten path for the short distance to GZ. Along the way we passed a pair of kids doing a spot of fishing who were quite friendly. I hope they caught something.
The path led right to GZ. As far as I can tell, all public land and no risk of getting wet. I suspect the CO has made a mix-up with one of their other listings. To stick to the norm of D/T ratings and what people expect it might be well worth reviewing the listing.
So right where the GPSr indicated we started looking about, but Net made the quick find. I retrieved the logbook and it was signed accordingly. If it counts for anything, a kayaker did float past us as we walked back to the car. TFTC jank13

I was up on the Sunshine Coast with Captain Terror for a few days when he mentioned this cache. Ugh sure I guess we can attempt to grab it. I was concerned about the terrain rating but it seems my concerns were pointless.
We jumped out of the car at what seemed to be a great parking spot and started to head for GZ, keeping an eye out for the private property that we never stumbled across. We did however stumble across two little muggle boys fishing. They were very proud to tell me that they had caught a small something or other, when I asked if they had any bites.
We were soon standing at GZ and the Captain was adamant the cache must be over there. Ummm no how about right here. As he turned around I pointed the cache out to him as I somehow was just short enough to not be able to maneuver the cache how I wanted to. He came and saved the day and we signed the logbook before replacing as found. Thanks for the cache jank13

This baby popped up on my radar this morning. Mmmm a T5 this could be very tricky. But after a quick look on Mr Google the area looked very familiar.
Most of the area surrounding the Currimundi Lake is public access land, which is well maintained by the SCRC with plenty of walking paths and seated areas. [^]
I parked in a nearby side street and had only about a 60m walk to GZ . I set off along the well formed path and very soon found myself about 30m from GZ, where I found a nice bench seat over looking the lake.
I continued on along the pathway and very soon arrived at GZ. I began my systematic search of one particular area and very quickly discovered a well hidden cache.
I removed the cache from it hide and opened the log to find it nice and blank, just the way I like'm.
The cache is a T5 according to the CO. But for me it was again a very comfortable T2, which can be accessed easily from the many local walking & cycle paths around lake Currimundi.[^]
