11/2/2024 Find #6831A day out and about with KezzBear and KBreeAHH on a bit of a maintenance check for KezzBear before she ups and leaves us for a new life of adventure. The day was filled with fun, food and memories but with a tinge of sadness too knowing this would definitely be our last adventure together for some time. Its great when the CO is giving you the tour as she can basically pull up right next to the cache for toy to grab. Tho this one did take a little bit of work to extract - certainly wouldnt want big hands to try and get this out, the way it seems to be sitting! Thanks for the cache KezzBear.
An early start to the day with a drive south to find a couple of caches. I had a meeting at 9am so I was on a mission. I had one cache that was my target as it was for a particular challenge and it was of no size. I grabbed it and started my drive to my meeting. Heading to my meeting i saw i was a little early so I saw this one and stopped to grab it. It was an easy find here as the hint did help for a quick search. I signed the log and replaced the cache as found and continued onto my meeting. Thank you for placing it here.
I parked just off Maudsland Road, thus it was reasonably adjacent to this location. It was then a quick find as I spotted it upon approach. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [KezzBear](https://coord.info/PR3RM5R) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, the plan was for a walk in Denham Scenic Reserve (Denham Falls, Lip Falls) to host a [Gins Lips Saunter and Swim](https://coord.info/GCAH49F) event at the bottom of the creek/gorge. Despite having visited this area only 1.5 months ago, I had a couple of geocaches that I had trouble finding, and it was a lovely area to visit nevertheless. Despite concerning weather forecasts of rain, it could not have been any better, with dry conditions and the heat starting to set in by the time we finished our hike.It was then a slow and long way home meandering past towns and areas finding geocaches in less-visited areas. Highlights included Lower Beechmont Conservation Area (Freeman's Lookout and the lower elevation area adjacent to Clagiraba Road), Mount Tamborine, and Oxenford. It was interesting to see the widespread tree debris in the vicinity from the "mini-cyclone" / strong winds that impacted the Gold Coast from two weeks ago, and largely cleaned up.
Aw yes, the countless hours I have spent looking at historic maps, or the same map and flipping between dates, I can appreciate knowing this used to be the school. Even if since that damn bus stop there isn't a remnant to be seen! But I'm still here to appreciate it as I work from Canungra to Oxenford grabbing geocaches off my to-do list.I was actually looking very much ahead to food and feeling meh as I arrived here. But I was happy to see a little dirt road off the side that meant getting a bit closer and parking safer. I was also impressed to see a few people using this somewhat-rest-area. I bet they don't know this used to be a school!Just a short wander and then push through some grass to get near GZ. But once there a quick find at 18:15. And yes, I did have a look at the old photo - I'm glad it exists to be looked at! The sun is setting and it's a bit of a drive home after my four finds today. Nice. Thanks for this geocache, KezzBear
the roadworks are ongoing and the cache is still with me until works are completed and I can return it. I pass it on the way to work each week and will re activate as soon as the works are complete. The roadworks are extensive and may take months, the estimated completion date is March 30 2023.
Roadworks are ongoing, major redo of busy intersection including traffic lights! The works are expected to finish around the 30th March 2023

Was about to give up but just as we were driving away I saw the log and quickly got out. The cache was hard to get out but signed and put back where I found it.

Our intrepid trio are hunting today around Tambourine & amongst our designated walk we are seeking an attribute challenge for May. So that’s why we are here.
I headed down the coast with The Green Geckos and Muggle65. We had three caches as target today then added 6 more. I found 16 today and unfortunately 2 DNF.
We had a good day.
Sorry for the generic log

Found a few years ago but new additions to the family meant an easy find for new hunter
Exploring locations around the Gold Coast and this is one of the caches we targeted and found. Thanks for hiding saintsmadhouse
TFTC! Cache #2 for the day and 2nd I’ve ever found as a cacher in her adult life! Quick and easy find swapped out an American penny for a green and gold pinky ring! Made for a lovely end of a caching day with my boyfriend
Nice quick park n grab after striking out at the nearby multi... tftc... I left my retrieval tool close by...
Out for a little wander down some country lanes while son at a party. Decided to stop here. Very warm day but lovely breeze. Tftc
Out for a drive around the northern end of the GC to get some caches. Quick park and grab here. TFTC saintsmadhouse
Hubby, dog and I are taking the scenic route for a weekend with friends in Murwillumbah. This spot was a good one for a toilet break for . The cache was in plain sight, so I gave it a bit more camp after signing the log. All good with the cache. TFTC
Day seven of streak week.
A quick stop and grab with mininoo on our way home from picking up some rescue hens in the area.

Finally came back to this one. Tennis players thought I was watching them.. took 3 times to throw a ball back to them. Coordination not my thing today. Oh well. Got my smile.
It was nice being on the winding roads here, and having a chance to pull over and find a cache. It is interesting to picture the old school gate from the photo. It was a nice quick find today.
Thanks to SaintsMadHouse for placing this cache and for keeping it alive.

Nice quick find and a nice size container. Although we did enjoy teasing a our Scottish muggle initiates with snake stories. Not really a problem here. TFTC
Quick and easy find this morning on the way to Equine Assisted Therapy at Canungra TFTC
As soon as I jumped out of the car, I started dry-reaching. We had decided to park near the bins and it was clear that someone else had decided to drop off some prawn shells or some road kill to ferment for a few days.
I found myself desperate for a big breath of fresh air, but in an attempt to suck in some oxygen, all I managed to swallow was a lungful of arse. My eyes started watering more than the first time I found out the Easter Bunny wasn’t real.
I ran over to GZ to escape whatever notorious stank had attacked me. Thankfully it was far enough away from the bins for my daughter to make the find and to add our stamp to the log.
We looked back at where the car was parked and I knew we would have to run the gauntlet of aromatic filth. Even just thinking about the smell a few days later makes me throw-up in my mouth a little bit. We jumped back into the car and had to wait for a few more involuntary dry-reaches and to wipe the tears from my eyes. Call the Centre for Disease Control, stat! My daughter just offered some kind advice that maybe I should just harden up. tftc

Used to drive a school bus out here 15 odd yrs ago, brings back memories. Thanks heaps! Peanut n Turtle
With a nice bit of unloved on this one, we made a quick stop here. It was just starting to spit with rain, so I was the sacrificial lamb who got to sign the log while the two ‘gentlemen’ I was with scarpered back to the car. TFTC
With Swellerfungus still suffering internittent eye troubles I was again back in the pilots seat of the Zoomin Shroom. Again my navigators let me down, missing the turnoff for better access to this cache. Instead a dodgy park on the side of the road and a quick dash to GZ. Cache spotted before we got there, and our names added to the brand spanking new logbook inside. Nice to give this some love after so long unfound. TFTC
Our planned caching long weekend was hampered by a rainy Sunday in our chosen playground (Gympie), so we headed home and made Sunday a designated rest day. To make up for it a hastily put together list was presented to the team by seffnjarah, and trusting blindly JeznDez and I agreed to to tag along.
I met up with seffnjarah early so that we would have the time to make the large detour necessary to pick up JeznDez. This allowed her a leisurely sleep in and time to do her nails and make-up before sauntering out to the car. It must be nice to have a valet service at your disposal! So after much delay we finally got under way and had a full day of caching between Mt Gravatt, Logan Village, Mt Tambourine and Beaudesert.
My recollection of the order in which we found the caches around here may be a little hazy, but I am sure my caching buddies won't hesitate to tell me how I got them wrong after reading my logs. rest assured we did find them all though!
It seems like we were not the only ones caching in this area today! we do like an unloved cache qnd this one hit the mark. Cache found with no problems. Thanks for the pathtag - I didnt have this one yet!

The roadworks are now complete and the last of the machinery has been removed - I will place a new cache this week and get it released again.
The major intersection roadworks are still ongoing here. The entire park area is fenced off to provide material and earthmoving equipment storage. I drive past with a cache in the car ready twice a week so it will be ready once they finish
The major roadworks at the adjacent intersection have meant they fenced off this park for the storage of the equipment for the construction. This geocache will be replaced when the construction is completed.
Local roadworks at the moment make replacement delay longer than expected. I hope to get it done before December.
Looked everywhere. Gps bounced me all over the place. Searched from pond in paddock to the dusty path and no luck.
Found today despite my GPS being out by about 10m. Cache in good condition. Traded for my first pathtag and will now google what to do with it

This cache had a massive spidery guardian who took a great deal of coaxing before it would leave the cache. Once it had galloped off at high speed I was able to sign my name!

Bush turkey or something has totes dislodges this cache. ..was sitting exposed about a meter from base of tree.. Put it back in under a root with some reinforcement. Hopefully that'll keep it in place without too much camo for the punters TFTC
I followed Jarrahtree around in the car as she scratched around trying to find the container...but a local scrub turkey had already scratched it out for us. Easy find as it was laying out in the open for us. Hope the final location where we placed it is adequate.

Decided to get out and about today and go for a drive around the Mt Tamborine area. Always love caching around here as it gets me away from the rat race suburbian streets of the Gold Coast.
Had a lovely day out driving and picked up a good 18 caches so I was happy
Interesting little read on this one and a nice quick cache find to go with it log signed and off I go. I am running out of sunlight but it doesnt really matter as rural caching is much more relaxing that suburbian caching. Luckily for me, this was the last cache for today as I decided I wanted some dinner so time to head back to the parents house. Ill be back out this way tomorrow for some more fun
Thanks for the cache SaintsMadHouse [^]

I have stopped for a break here many times and I thought what a good spot for a cache. Well what do you know? There is a cache here.
TFTF, all in good condition. Dropped off a TB, please log correctly in keep it moving on.
Today there is no school but can imagine kids waiting at bus stop closeby now waiting to go to school. Quick easy find with The X-Trailers as we headed to Kooralbyn. Co-founderwords and cache all good. TFTC
Driven passed here many times and thought it would be a great spot to hide a cache

Today we planned a caching run to coincide with the Hinterland Round-up at Lower Beechmont, so what better than to turn a group of green dots yellow! Fellow cachers Nadine 1989 and Geefer joined us for the occasion. All up we found all 25 of our planned caches for the day, including the event.
It wasn't too hard to imagine how the school sould have looked here. We found the cache - SPOS-wise.
Found at 12.30pm on 12th June 2016. TFTC.
