Journeyed south towards Whangamata, tauaunga roturua.
We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at Hahei.

22425 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Pauanui to Auckland. On several spots we stopped to find some caches and to enjoy the lookout views. Half day was sunny, half day was rain. Great variations today.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Several were with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper, where when it was wet paper it logs fantastic.
We love spoiler pics

Today we made a trip from Whakatane to Coromandel, again at the route of the Pacific Coast Highway, thereby visiting many other locations and looking for caches, too. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches. The weather was good all day long, partly very sunny and it got warmer in the afternoon. Small clouds and some wind were our compagnions especially in the afternoon.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to G-2 for showing us this location and for the fun we had at Hump? In Coro.. The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

Heading home so stopped in to grab this cache because the traffic was light. Searched everywhere trying to avoid all the broken glass & moving rocks. About to give up & finally found it. Signed & replaced, only to turn around and see l was being watched. By the herd. TFTC
Easiest to do this one when heading west. Took a bit of looking but the spoiler photo sort of helped. TFTC
Lots and lots of rocks to check out discarded rubbish. Coordinates spot on so that helped. Bkj97 found it under my direction. T4TCSL
Stopped on my way to Tairua - lots of rubbish didn’t make it a pleasant stop and it was good to make a reasonably quick find. TFTC
Greetings from some passing Aussie travellers. We found this cache successfully and thought the hump might have been a flat and level area used for weighing trucks. The scales would possibly have been placed in the indented section. Just a thought. Thank you to G-2 for giving us a reason to stop here for a break.
The area is obviously used as a weigh bridge but hump proper is a bit weird.Managed to get the correct almost straightaway so the find was pretty painless. Thanks G-2,all good
Choice as last time was a dnf . And found in under a minute go figure. Great parking for my tanker and a 30min rest break
Today I drove from Panganui to Tauranga. A pleasant drive with some nice views and caches on the way. TFTC!
after 3 previous visits here today i get there with butchiebum and she made the quick find, tftc
Road trip around the Coromandel with lots of caches to find. Quick but not easy find. TFTC.
We were staying at Onemana for the Whangamata Beach Hop and decided to go for a drive. Just happened to pull my phone out and spot a few caches along the way too - our friends (muggles) were quite relaxed about stopping so that was great... TFTC
I have no suggestions as to why this hump is here. Another quick find on my way to the beach. Thanks very much G--2
Heading towards Auckland and stopped for this cache but couldn't find it - even after a quite a bit of searching.
I will come back when I have more experience!

Found very quickly thankfully. Signed log and returned and covered it a bit better. Thank you.
We drive to the South. On the way we collect some caches.
Thanks to all the owners for the containers. Without the caches, we would never have found some nice place. Greetings from Germany the Moorhelmis

Looks like the hump used to be a weigh station. Where we live we have to go over 'The Hump' when we leave town or return from south of the island (Vancouver Island) Canada . Here with HennyGeo. TFTC.
Here in NZ with SwagHo vacationing, visiting and most importantly Geocaching from Vancouver island BC Canada. TFTC
For various reasons we haven't stopped here before to get this cache. Today is a day for "those" caches. I always thought this was a metal dump so was surprised to find a weigh station here. Thanks for the cache G-2.
Have been past this cache many time and for various reasons usually dreaming I miss it ...but today got it nicely snuggled away ....I guess it's safe here as nobody (muggle) would think to look here thanks G-2 for the cache
A muggle parked nearby necessitated a short wait before we could hint and claim. Lucky a farmer mending fences paid no attention to us. This ended up being our last find of the day.

A nice quick find, felt like humpty dumpty up on the hump! Just a case of catching a break in the traffic. TFTC

No cell signal so had to rely on memory and logic. But got there in the end.

Somehow I'd scored another leave pass so a short notice call went out over FB for an 8am start. TNXPro & Jenseeker were up for it and this was our 10th find. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a good hint - in spite of a multitude of hidey holes! Cheers G--2

Philip put the call out for travel victims and yet again I put my hand up, but this time we had traded in our usual partner-in-crime for a far more attractive one - Jenseeker.
Philip had a specific mission in mind, but really we were winging-it and I was just there for the ride. I wasnt concerned at which caches we targeted, but I had a maximum number in mind as I'd rather celebrate my 1500th milestone next weekend at the Mega-Event - [New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016](https://coord.info/GC63PZN).
We drove from Tauranga and turned off the main road to head up the east coast, which I am sure that I have never been before.
This could have taken a long time, but luckily P.P finds it quickly.
Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

After visiting another grandpa cache (Bring a torch) I had to drive back to my accommodation at Thames. This was a little bit naughty because my plan for today should be better than that. But NZ is lovely and so it isn't to bad driving around a little bit more. And I got two nice cache more.
Thanks a lot for the caches.

Thanks for the cache. I found it on 23/02/16 at 3:24 PM. That took a while I must say. Right under our noses all the time..,.of course. Nice hide.
#11305. This cache was on the "wrong" side of the road for us, but there was good visibility ion both directions and good parking, so we stopped to find the cache (just as well as we didn't use this road at the end of our Whitianga stay. TFTC.
Our week long Hamilton stay is over and today we are heading to Whitianga. No scenic detours today, just direct from A to B, with a few caching stops en route, of course.
There was a car parked a little way uphill from the hump and initially we wondered if it was another cacher, but he soon drove off. From above, I suggested a few places for StreetWalker to search and once he did as he was told he found the cache. TFTC,

Heute ging es für uns von der Coromandel Halbinsel über Matamata nach Rotorua. Dabei haben wir hier einen kleinen Zwischenstop eingelegt und konnten die Dose fix finden. Und weiter ging die Fahrt...
Thanks for the cache.
Many greetings from Germany, Nariza & Korshi

Another quick find. I thought we'd have to give it a miss as there was a car parked nearby - it was empty though so that was good. Tftc
1109 Set off today with a mission to collect some outstanding caches for the 37 degrees challenge oh and collect some others as well. I am not in a hump today though.
Today we drove upwarts north. On the way we pickup some caches. And this one was one of it. An other great day in new zealand.TFTC
Frequently, as I exit a GZ on a busy road, I wonder if muggle occupants in passing cars frown apon the person (who appears to be) doing a 'toilet stop' on the side of the road! LOL. Cheers for the cache anyway.
The purpose of the Hump became apparent once we parked and walked to GZ. Found the cache after a brief search. Thanks.
Just a pile of rocks to level up wiegh platform!
Or it could be an tapered alien landing platform

Last time we attempted this one there was a muggle parked near GZ and after waiting around for a while he didn't appear to be going anywhere. The coast was clear this time and we soon spotted the hide TFTC.

Surely it is space for a Mr Whippy to park(?) but not even a coffee guy here today. NINO TFTC
I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of days caching around the Coromandel Peninsula. After a very early departure from Auckland, we then drove around the Peninsula anticlockwise, calling in at Pauanui, Tairua, Hahei and Cooks Beach, to find caches in those places, before taking the 309 Road to Coromandel, where we stayed the night. A quick find here, TFTC!

So nice of you to build an excellent parking spot for this cache! I was literally at 0m once I rolled to a stop. I looked in one spot, then saw the cache in the second. TFTC.
On the way to the Caravan at Whangapoua the long way today. Decided to stop and give this one another go. Not bad, 2nd place we looked we came up with the goods. Happy to get a smiley on this one. SL. TFTC.
Always thought this could be a bit of fun hit with a bit of speed, but the rather large inverted speed bump would do a fair amount of damage, so I think that's gonna remain a childhood dream. Realised that there was a spoiler image once at GZ, so thought it would be a bit of a mission to locate, but the caching gods smiled and cache was found reasonably quickly. TFTC.
While some wonder what its for... there are others of us who know exactly what it is but have never ever seen it used for that? despite multiple trips along the road when the folks used to live at Whanga.... didn't have the luxury of the spoiler photo but soon in hand.. cache present and correct:))
On another road trip with Squirrel Nutcase to collect the 309 trail so thought we should pick up a few more caches as we passed. Started our adventure at 6am Saturday and back home at 3am Sunday with 91 caches in hand. Best ever day caching or should I say day and a bit.
Easy find with good hint, no over weight problems today. SLTFTC

On a night caching mission with 11hpg11, iammrwalker and C&D, on a circuitous coromandel route to take in the 309. Bit of a challenge in the dark but, with a team of cachers, it didn't thwart us for long. TFTC
Found as part on team H.I.C.K.S, four Waikato Geocachers (11hpg11, iammrwalker, Cats&Dragons and Kiwis69) on a mad night mission through the Coromandel) which started at 6pm and finished at 5:45am the following morning. Found after a couple of minutes, thanks to four sets of eyes and headlamps.
Out for a final Night Caching Adventure with iamrwalker, IIhpgII, Kiwis69 passing through the coromandel before I head overseas for a number of weeks.
We set out from Hamilton at 6pm heading across the Hauraki Plains before making our way up the coast.
We signed as "HICK's" to save space in the logs.
This was the 17th of the evening for me and was just the beginning of the fun and laughter that is team caching.
Thanks for the Placement

We had to manoeuvre our way around a parked ambulance so approached the Hump on a slight angle, yorkshirekiwi83 soon had the cache located. The log was a bit difficult to extract because it kept on getting pushed further into the container, managed to use a tool, and replaced it so as to make it easier for the next victim…. Umm we mean cacher, TFTC.
YeoGeo4, Alpenmilch80 and I met to head to the Coromandel and then Whangamata to hit as many caches as possible, in a fun filled day with great company we far exceeded our expectations of how many we would find.
When we pulled to a stop here we were in front of an ambulance, however this quickly pulled away, we had just started the search when a truck pulled up. Again he didnt stay long and we could continue our search. Small hands were needed to retireve and tweezers would have been helpful to get the log out. I think we took longest to get log out than any other part of the process. However we did finally succeed and replaced where we found it. Thanks for the cache

Stopped for a quick hump hunt at the side of the road and were rewarded with a cache. Thanks
Quick find. Must have driven past a dozen times but hadn't checked on new caches in the area
Picture no longer current but still managed to snaffle it using cacher sense! TFTC!
If we had the spoiler picture we mightn't have got the hump over this cache. We would have had an idea of which rock to look for. There has been a serious amount of rock moving here and without the pic, we would have had to do some more serious rock moving and trust to luck. So we didn't and because we had the hump, we drove over the hump and away.
Had a good look but no luck . Looks like someone else has had a go aswell with all the rocks shifted
