Logs
Another day in Geraldton and we cleaned up a bunch of 4x4 caches north of Drummond Cove and then ventured south towards Greenough. We missed a few caches due to heavy rains and some fast flowing water.
Thanks for the cache.
Cache was found using co ords from a previous log. Cache was completed stuffed but we could get our name on the log.

Good to get this one today, enjoying the weather and the tracks TFTH
Really worth a look!!!
Really worth a look!!!
Out with the boys on an epic few days of finding smilies. Thanks to the co's for placing these caches to enjoy. Sorry for the genetic log
Cache has seen better days but we could still write our name on the log to claim the find!

Caching in the Greater Geraldton area today. Our intention for the day was to attack some power trails and do map cleanup around town.
Cheers Bigsybigs!

We had been doing a geocaching run up the beach from Drummonds so of course we had to find this one. The idea had been a gentle day of cache hunting as I had a chest cold and wanted to take it easy so when we arrived 350 metres from GZ at the top of a sand dune I was wondering about the sensibility of climbing to where I could guess the cache would be! OK so not so much the climb up as a problem more the climb back up the dune to reach the Landcruiser when finished, the dune had to be about 30 metres or more tall - or should I say near vertical. I wasn't about to leave without finding the cache so we left our oldest Jack Russell with the cruiser, (it was a cool day) and took the youngster for a run. Up we went with no real track to follow, through all the scrub all the time thinking this must be revenge for the caches we have hidden in similar places. Finally we reached GZ and the hunt began! After a few minutes searching we spotted the cache! Yippee...... Log signed it was then time to find our way out
thanks bigsybigs

I thought I might take a look
And as it was worth a look ...
... I headed on up the hill to see if it was really worth a look
With the geomobile abandoned,
but not bogged,
I headed off on foot to take a look
The stroll was not as easy as it looked !!
Just over half way there ...
... the abyss !! [:o]
I did not see that coming
It was great fun falling into the abyss.
But like an ant in an ant lions pit,
I wondered how I would ever get back out [:o]
Ah well !!
I will head up this nearby hill
That should get me closer to GZ at least.
An upon high,
a glorious view out over the dunefields and ocean was mine to enjoy
OK !!! Forget the view, GZ is still a ways off through all this scratchy scrub
OUCH,,
ouch,
ouch,
oucn,
And finally ...
... Booyah !!
A cache

Help !! [:o]

I have contacted the CO with no response. CO has not been active for nearly two years, I think it's time to archive this cache
Went with a friend who had previously found this cache... but it was not to be found anywhere
Couldnt find this, needs a maintenance check I think, went with a friend who previously had found this one
With three pairs of eyes looking for over an hour we thought for sure we'd find it, we even phoned a friend and messaged another friend but still couldn't find it. Oh well we will be back.
Found on our second try with Ruben. Kylie. Great view, glad I wore shoes and long pants no mountain goat required Squash2 found a few meters from ground zero.

Left home at 7.30AM in Stoffcrap's Jeep and headed north to Drummonds. Let the tyres down and proceeded along the beach until about 1 km to go then turned inland. Nice morning, calm ocean and small groups of people fishing. Drove until approx 300 metres to GZ then walked. Obviously Bigsybig's comment that a reasonable level of fitness is required to attempt this cache differs from ours. We thought somewhere between Lawrence of Arabia and a Mongolian Mountain goat would have been closer to the mark . Anyhow, suffice to say we eventually made it to GZ and proceeded looking...and looking...and looking. After 30 minutes we were getting close to pulling the pin but decided as a bit of effort had gone into getting here we would widen the search area. Another 15 minutes elapsed and we were right on the verge of quitting when it finally showed itself. Both GPS's had it about 8mts from GZ. Withdrew the log and surprised to find a clean sheet (No Teampathfinder or TeamBastholm- they must be feeling off:(- ). SL TNLN TFTC Bigsybigs. It was good fun and a good work out, deserves a brownie point.

Found with Squash2 and I agree with his comments. Hard work but good fun and good to give the Jeep a bit of a workout. SL, TNLN TFTC Bigsybigs.
