Wowee time goes slowly...signed back in 2020. Now that I have more geobuddies, the challenge was JUST doable. New strategies, fun playlists and buddies to cache with break the predictable utter tedium of so many in one whack! Message to selfdespite the jolly days which became less jolly as the days end approached, remind me to refrain from embarking on such geo-projects down the track! The only way to do 150+ is to head to a conga line of caches on a map...plenty of which abound in SA. AS for this challenge cache...signed ever so long ago long before I could feasibly schedule any trip. As well, done and dusted. TFTC and the challenge.30/9/2024 :290+29/9/2024 300+

We managed to sign the log in 2021, July but did not fully qualify until attending the Leap Day Event earlier this year when we managed to find over 300 caches in a day.Mrs Riddell always had these challenges in the back of her brain on the back burner. There must have been to much going on in life since then to make the connection. As we will be returning to Wangaratta next weekend, a quick look at what we still need to find had these two remaining challenges glaring to be claimed. So finally we can put this small series to bed! Thanks to BettieBoo3747 for the cache and challenge.https://project-gc.com/Challenges//5688Riddell fulfils challenge Four Elements Challenge - Fire (GC4WV34), according to https://project-gc.com/Challenges//5688[Riddell](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=Riddell) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges//5688 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Requirements fulfilled with 150 or more finds in 2 days as follows:2024-03-01 : 3062021-03-07 : 152

Back on 28/12/19, almost 5 years ago, I posted a write note that looked something like this....I have been getting into the challenges lately and targeting any of that cache type on my radar. Most around here seem to be owned by the one CO. This one might test me and though I may not qualify yet, at least my name is in the book. Thanks for the challenge BettyBoo3747. Well, since then I met a chick crazy enough to take on challenges like this, and challenges like me. Razz We wed. [:X] [:X]My wife catnap777 and I now qualify to log this one as found having both visited GZ and both taken on a couple of huge geoarts together on a couple of huge days caching (among many) over the last couple of years. This is the same as the pervious one. Signed back on 29/06/2016 and 7 years later I finally quality! Seems like a big day out is only every 4 years or so for me. I'm much keener on the quieter back roads with random bush caches! **14/05/2024, 10:15:00****Find #5825****Mystery Find #1145**Today was a mixed bag with some good finds but also a few DNF's. I had many kilometres to cover today and so couldn't devote more than ten minutes to any one cache but on those that I DNF'd on, I don't think more time would have helped. It was just one of those days. The weather continues to be perfect but I'll be glad to get home tomorrow.Apologies for the generic log but there were too many to remember to write individual logs.>2023-04-09180 >2019-09-28151 >2020-01-02110 >2023-04-10101**Thank-you to BettyBoo3747 for placing this geocache**

Challenge cache located and signed way back in January 23..l never thought l would qualify for this challenge but after a recent trip to SA completing the on your bike series with 3 other cachers, this finally became a reality. They were long full on days but lots of fun. Not something I'm keen to do again in a hurry. Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]Big Grin

We are now caching around Wangaratta finding caches to meet the A-Z challenge along with a few others. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747. Smile

I don't qualify for this one yet, we had hoped to get over 150 at least once on this trip but it didnt happen so I will have to wait to log it.

I love challenge caches and tend to search them out whenever I travel. I also like to research challenge caches and begin making an effort to qualify though some of the challenges I am working on will take several years to complete. I just ran the checker and discovered I met the requirements for this challenge by finding 204 caches on 19/10/17 and 184 caches on 24/10/16. Hmm, not surprisingly Isis58 got the same results Wink. Both of these dates were related to events. In October 2016 caches were found on the way home after the Turangi Mega, in October 2017 we had a big day before the Oamaru Geofest. Thanks for the challenge and for all the other placements you have made.

05-Apr-23
I love challenge caches and am very pleased that they are finally "allowed" again as it provides me with some additional challenge and goals. I met the requirements for this challenge by finding 204 caches on 19/10/17 and 184 caches on 24/10/16. Coincidentally both of these big days were when out on a caching trip with Sidewaze. Hoping to do it again today but time will tell. TFTChallenge BettyBoo3747. Kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand #19,002

I had hoped today would be the day I would be my second 150+ day but it wasnt to be. I know we got close a few days later but will have to wait until I complete my logging for this trip to see if I qualify. Found on our Rutherglen Mega trip, all logs signed as SPINZ (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Isis58 and Nanzie from NZ).

Didn’t think this day was ever going to happen.
However after a crazy 8 frenetic days with feathertop in South Australia I can now finally claim this cache that I signed the log for back in 2014!
Thanks BettyBoo3747, here is what we did on two memorable days of that trip:
2x150 caches in a day GC4WV34

29/6/22 Part of the Gone Fishn’ GeoArt 107 Traditionals and 50 Myteries, plus assorted 10 traditionals and 2 Multis = 169 total.

2/7/22 Australian Mountains AMP 31 Traditionals, 1 Multi, Happy Armpit Series 12 Traditionals, Ice Cream GeoArt 25 Mysteries, S.A. Rivers 53 Traditionals, 3 Traditional extras, Wandering Heroes 30 Traditional and 1 letterbox plus 7 Adventure Labs = 163 Total.

A favourite point for the challenge which really pushed me to extend myself.

Doing a check back on my challenges as rumours fly of a new challenge cache coming out. I remember signing this one with Domsky on one of my crazy cache chasing holidays, obviously for another challenge. Thanks for the challenge and now doing my checks I see I do qualify for this one.
This was a fantastic challenge to strive for and achieve, gave me much pleasure to see it turn into a smiley. Funny thing is I completed it on another crazy caching holiday, again thanks and a favourite point for this challenge.

Day 4of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.

A fun adventurous day including getting bogged on a back track that has been notorious for catching other cachers and the need to contact a nearby farmer who one again kindly towed us out of our predicament, something that he had done for many others in the past.

Our targets were many including some of the Randolph the Rat series and a few others nearby. It also included a high terrain tree climb that needed the Adder and the Starfish to engineer a longer TOTT to scale a tree while Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 watched on in awe.hoping that the extended legs would not collapse or slip.

Another target was the Ned kelly Helmet series which was completed.

All caches were visited handled and signed by the individual members of the group, as always there was no car hopping. This is how we play.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Qualifying for the first 3 challenge in this fun little series we find that we do not as yet qualify for this one Sad Seems we will just have to work harder to gain the required numbers. Our names are in the log book but will keep this on our watch list and hopefully be able to claim th smiley o this one soon.

When we were in Wangaratta in January, we set out to sign our name in the logs of these for challenges.
This one proved to be the most elusive.
Another mega, in Townsville and the opportunity to race down a couple of power trails eventually had us with the final requirement we needed to qualify for this one.
We enjoyed so many of your hides and puzzles on our visit to Victoria BettyBoo4737

I traveled over from Adelaide to the Wangaratta region for Easter after not being able to make it for the mega.

I visited Beachworth this afternoon to pick up a few solved mysteries, some challenge caches and of course the Adventure labs.

What a beautiful little town. Lots of people out enjoying the sunshine and attending the Easter fair.

Lots of great caches too.

Call it a New Years Eve resolution or just a personal commitment to myself. Call it what ever you want, but I want to make the effort to revisit Challenge caches that I either didn’t qualify for at the time of signing the log, or simply didn’t check because I was just more interested in finding caches at the time. It seems following up can often be forgotten, so I’m trying to recheck between 1 & 7 per week, spare time permitting. Today is one of those I cracked a from the checker, so I’m claiming a find as of today. “Challenge completed” It’s a great day for caching! TFTC BettyBoo3747

Our final day in Wangaratta after attending the recent Mega.
We had intended to hit the trails by bike but although the day was cooler, it was still quite muggy and we haven't ridden much lately. Another time!
So we headed out in the car and worked on a variety of caches. Some from the rail trail and others in surrounding areas. Again we came across a variety of caches.
Our thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organizing the Mega and to local cachers that have given us so many to look for. We've got plenty more to do, so we'll be back!

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache BettyBoo3747.

A long-awaited trip with fitzy_1965 to Wangaratta for the 2021/2022 Mega!

Day 3 gave us a bit of a sleep in. We then packed up and headed out for the last of our caching in the Wangaratta region before heading home….. unfortunately, work calls tomorrow but thankfully I’m on work from home duties this week. We headed into town and did the Adventure Lab’s that we hadn’t had the chance to finish and in doing so missed the announcement that fitzy and won first to find on the Mega Event. How cool!

We met up with everyone for the Farewell event and headed up the highway towards home.

Thanks to all CO’s for their cache placement and maintenance and thanks to the Mega Committee for another great event.

Checking to see if I qualify and I do.

26,812. Found with minniek along with a lot more attendees of The Wangaratta (Mega) Event. I was honoured with winning the Official First To Find for the Mega Event - something I will treasure forever.

minniek and I have really been looking forward to The Wangaratta Event. The Victorian Mega Events have been so well run over the years, and with the 2021 (2022) version of the series being held around Wangaratta we knew it was going to be a fun fun event. Day 3 of our trip dawned and we did the pack up. We then went out for some last day caches. This one was my last physical find. I did the other three caches in this series back in March 2014, but I hadn't qualified for this one back then. Now I do !! Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off towards home.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 !!

The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.

The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.

Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!

Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.

Day 4 of the Wangaratta Mega with Rapidlywild.

Today we decided to head early to try and beat the heat and call into Beechworth first to do one of the labs there and then it was back onto the trail with the bikes.

Back on the trail and thankfully when we started it was still cool, but it looked like it would be a very warm one.

All caches were found along the journey unless otherwise mentioned.
Great trail and glad we took the time out to make the journey.
We picked up others while attacking the trial and this was one of them.

Headed south with my caching mates, steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert to attend the on, off, on again COVID restricted Wangaratta Mega event...... credit to the organisers for persisting.

With us having limited time in the area, we tried to pack as much as we could into each day. From Glenrowan, to Beechworth, to Mrytleford, to Warby Ovens NP, to the streets of Wangaratta, we seemed to be on the go all the time. While the weather was too hot for caching at times we often found relief by cooling off in the river.
We found so many different types of caches, its a credit to all the CO's for providing the caches for everyone to find, whether they were new or old placements, we had a great time in Wang.

Our final day in Wang and we spent much of it bushwalking and doing challenge caches.

I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!

Another in the four elements series, this was the next one. So far I pass on three.

Day 6 of my road trip and Day 2 of my Wangaratta MEGA event. Today I teamed up with Domsky and we spent the day trekking around the countryside. We spent a lot of time playing basketball and then headed up to Beechworth for a break and some lunch. Then it was back to the basketball and a few others as we passed by. What a great series of caches and some absolutely stunning countryside. Thank you so much for placing these here I have really enjoyed another day in this area.
It was a fun day and many laughs, it was also nice to have the variety in the caches. I am so overwhelmed by the views and the countryside feel around this area.

We signed all logs as domsky and chamad and replaced caches as we found them. There was a nice variety in the caches we found today, which just added to the fun of the day, thanks.

The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)

The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.

Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.

Found an old notebook that contained some challenge caches that we had signed in 2015 but either we didn't qualify for or we didn't do the homework. Time to get organised for a future visit. TFTChallenge Signed on 18/1/15

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

PS: Sorry for logging this cache in Dec-22 after finding it almost two years ago. Sadly with COVID and other life challenges, these caches didn't get logged after our last trip to north east Victoria. Now we're back in Wangaratta for our (mostly) annual visit, and if it wasn't for the wonderful GSAK I would have forgotten which caches we found on that trip.

Day #2 for me of the cache adventure with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506. Today we are off to collect some challenges amongst other things.

After thinking we may have had a fuel emergency we realised it was just the computer being a little over zealous, and by little, I mean a lot! Signed and ready to work through the challenge.

Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.
