Have been thinking about doing this for a while now. With a new Gourmet AdLab in place at Milawa I feel it is the right time to archive the Gourmet Series. Thanks to the many finders over the years.

Enjoying the weekend camping. Found our first cache on our new account! Thanks for the find
Camping caching with Flaggys and MooFlagg. This one was missing last time. So happy to get rid of the blue frowny face. Lots more houses here since last year. Tftc
We decided to head south with albida33, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK to tackle the Wangaratta area. With half of our team out collecting the WCT Challenge trail, the injured one went in search of some easy grabs to pass the time.
After doing a few solo it was time to go pick up Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK from their camping spot. Then we set out to pick up more caches along our journey to then meet up again with the rest of the crew after they had finished the challenge walk.
This was one of the caches along our journey. No issues with this one. Signed and moved on.
Thanks to the troupe for letting us tag along on this weekend adventure, we had a great time.
Thanks for the hide BettyBoo3747

Day 1
With a long weekend in Canberra this weekend, Fitzy_1965 and I headed back to Wangaratta with several other cachers to clean up some areas we didn’t get to whilst at the recent Mega.
Fitzy_1965 and I left home early and got to Wangaratta late morning. We met up with FurfacesLL and did some caching before we were to meet up with albida33, Joolay & kittykatch.
We had a great afternoon caching then all headed into Wangaratta for a great dinner at a pizza bar. Lots of great discussion about caching and our next adventures.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to the CO for placement and maintenance.

27,172. Found with minniek and FurfacesLL at the start of our Post-MEGA Wangaratta visit.
After the wonderful Mega we had in Wangaratta in January this year, there were still many caches left to find. A bunch of us Canberra Region Cachers decided that they certainly deserved another visit to try and knock them off. minniek and I - arriving late morning today - were last to arrive with the others journeying down yesterday to do the Challenge Series walk early this morning. We claimed our camping spot at Oxley Reserve, then headed out to start our caching spree. This was the next of many. I have done a few of this series in the past, so it was nice to collect a few more. Quick find at GZ. Signed / Stamped log as appropriate, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list.
Thanks BettyBoo !! Always a pleasure doing your caches !

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC BettyBoo3747

Wangaratta Mega trip Day 5. It has taken quite some time to get this trip going so it is a great feeling to be on the road for a great weekend away with great caching with friends and new friends. This was my last day and after a long morning around Wangaratta, I headed hove to Canberra via Gundagai. I was not intending to stay as long, but when I was looking at the remaining caches last night I realised there were several more I wanted to do, so I stayed a bit longer.
After a night a Milawa, I had to stop at a few caches before heading into town. Two quick stops.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747

Moved from Wangaratta showgrounds following the end og the Mega 21, and returned to Brown Brothers for an overnight stay and to get the bikes out and ride around the area and see what we could get. Reasonably cool morning with an ocassional shower, but not enough to get wet, plus a few more klm on the bikes.

Find No: 8343. Visiting from Newcastle, attending the Wangaratta MEGA, thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747!!
Found as we explored more of the area after enjoying time at the Mega, thanks for bringing us here and TFTC and the fun
Found by Mary in company with cprass. Very humid. Checked out Millawa. Our thanks to BettyBoo3747.
Today was a leisurely run from Gundagai to Milawa where we hiare camped in Brown Bros free camp. We are on our way to the Wangaratta Mega event but I am anticipating some long hard days there so I am trying not to wear Pa out beforehand. Afterall, he is more a muggle than a cacher.
Apologies BettyBoo for the mostly generic log but when I can remember something particular about each cache that will be noted. Nearly all logs were signed SG rather than Smittengranny. Thanks for placing, adopting and maintaining these caches which add to our fun.
No prwith the find here.

Found by c-pprass in the company of Mary maccamob while touring the area for some wines, cheeses, olives, and enjoying the wonderful scenery.
We thought that we had completed this series many years ago and now see what has happened.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for setting up this series.

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and then set out to cache! A quick find and then into the nearby establishment to stock up on Berry products..YUM!! TFTC
After a morning on the NKH series I headed straight down to Oxley and then onto Milawa.
Lots of recent rain meant the countryside looked a picture and loads of grass has grown so some areas had tricky access. Not here though where a quick find was made of the sistema.
Love the rural produce farms.
Thanks BettyBoo

Called past today to check this one. Couldn't find it so a new cache is now in place.
Had a quick look around but came up empty handed here. After reading some of the previous caches Micheena and I have come to the conclusion that possibly the cache is gone, because we did look in the most obvious spot and it wasn’t there.
Hmm searched for ages but no cache was found.
We did stop at the nearby farm and buy some blueberry jam so not all was lost.

First I had heard of the Blue Ox. Great to learn new things about the area. Still continuing to finish this series. TFTC
One day in frozen UK,
We drove to the drop off bay.
Took off high and came down in Australia.
With not much to bring
Bar a satisfied grin,
Less than 800 caches to my name
Then along came a virus
Which sat down beside us
And cancelled my home going plane.
We stuck to the rules
Stayed mostly indoors
But gradually sanity left us.
So with no real plans
But sanitized hands
We set off for a wood full of caches.
Of 1000 I never
Dreamed I would ever
Catch on this trip to down under
But I've stayed here so long
That it wouldn't be wrong
To think I could hit this great number.
Found in a lovely old paper bark. Friend drove off up the road to turn round while I hunted. Was nervous a big dog might come bounding out but none did. Weather turning lovely. There was a scrap yard with car bits and a man out the front. I wanted to stop and buy a number plate but my friend said on the way back. On the way back 5 mins later it was shut and he was gone. I was cross! on the way home later it was open but the number plates wernt for sale. Tftc

On a mission towards reaching my 1000th cache in my first 12 months of caching. Team OZCAT
Found this one on the way back from swimming in the river. At Gz the cache was found quickly signed and returned. Nice hide TFTC.
A few weeks ago I looked at my tally and thought I would struggle to crack 1000 caches for the year. But a consolidated effort over the last few weeks and more than I expected on the recent work trip numbers suddenly things looked positive - had a few calendar holes to fill and some potential trips to get the last 22 required. However when the offer was made to visit Milawa for lunch and the suggestion of taking two cars so that I could go geocaching afterwards was made I jumped at the opportunity. So after morning tea at Brown Brothers and lunch at the cheese factory I parted ways with the rest of the family (I took the geohound) and started on the caches around town. 23 caches (and 1 DNF) later the magic number was reached and now the challenge is to beat last years total.
This one was a particularly quick find. I am beginning to wonder if there are any clues available for the final. I may have given initial caches a cursory glance, but I have looked at today's ones more thoroughly and have found nothing. Maybe I need to loo closer. Cache returned as found here.

A day out with Happy pants, picking up some out on the back roads around the Milawa area. Some great finds and different containers found, while having a great day out together.
So much interesting history about this local area. Another quick find.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play

Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
The first task of the day was to get myself to the Everton General Store by 8:00am to rendezvous with Nigel from the Bike Hire Company (great guy great service) from who I was hiring a bicycle. Mission accomplished with a few quick finds along the way. Cheers and TFTC
Today we have headed out to find all of the Gourmet Run caches so that we could find the final so that we could collect the unloved. Some where easy to find, some we struggled with but we got there in the end. SL TFTC
Cool - it’s great to see the local area through the eyes of a geocacher, it makes for an very interesting way to travel around Australia.
Seeing these interesting parts of a local area that shows the history, the memories of characters, and pioneers who lived and worked on the land.
An amazing part of the local history here.
We meandered over to GZ, found the cache, with signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the container as found.

Once I realised that February is a short month and that there would not be another weekend before it was March, Rex and I headed out for a cache trip
Harry hesitated at the start of the trip as we climbed the 1st gentle slope on Snow Road and so I pulled up at a Gourmet Run cache to let him cool down [xx(][|)] and then had to refill the radiator so the rest of the journey was slow [^] Thankfully the night cooled down too and that made the travel easier with less strain on the cooling system [^] and on my mind!
Between 17:14 and 1:17 the next morning, we found 8 caches and saw deer, wombats, owls, roos and rabbits
We took a road less travelled and for our efforts got a couple of bogonhazy caches , an old djcache and saw some gorgeous sights and sunset [^][^] We had fun scrambling over rocks in a creek bed in the dark and ended up with a FTF for our efforts
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

A 5.30am start today to get into Wangaratta by 6.00am. Muggle son from Melbourne participating in the Police Legacy bike ride, Wanga to Melbourne, and we wanted to wave him off, and take some photos. Driving with the group as far as Greta, we finally lost the bikes and started caching. We decided we would cache until our legs dropped off, or became so tired that we had to stop. Or eat.
Quick find in an obvious spot
Thanks for maintaining these purple caches Betty Boo

Cruising north, toward the '1 Month to' event in Wangaratta, in convoy with Snap Happy and Happy Pants. Finding myself solo again, I decided to knock off some more of these Gourmet Run caches. Completing the Gourmet Run series a few years back, I was pleasantly surprised to see some new ones to find. Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

We managed to pull up quite close to this one.
Mrs SKI began the hunt while Mr SKI got our grandson out of the car.
She went one way and we went the other and as luck would have it we spotted it first. It was quite out in the open but is a little less conspicuous now though in the same place.
Log signed and on our way.

Day 2 we got rained out in the end but still had an enjoyable day.

School holidays are upon us which means Team Clarmensma (myself, GemmaSistema, boo09, neisha07 as well as Ad + Luke) is formed yet again as we target another area of beautiful country Victoria.
This time we decided on an over night road trip to Wangaratta. Meeting up in Violet Town, we headed straight to Wang and our motel where we dumped our belongings and headed straight off for an arvo of caching. Lots of great finds, a stop for lunch on the side of a lonely dirt road followed by some more caching until it got dark and we decided we should probably feed the children again.
A pub dinner and off we went again with torches and another layer of clothes each. A few stops in and we managed to get ourselves bogged but were promptly saved by some nice CFA gentlemen. The adventure never stops! Finally after a DNF and we were all soaking wet we decided to head back to the motel for a Milo. A great day out exploring a region I had never visited before. TFTC!
