Incredible spot! Went for an afternoon walk up Davos Hill for the views and some eagle watching (unexpected bonus) and the newish ad lab of course I decided to duck down for this, which wasnt too hard as it turned out and well worth it to see the tree for which this cache is named. And its fallen neighbour (check out the pattern). Thanks!
Not sure how I missed this last time. I swear it wasn't there! Nice quick find today, after a bit of a downhill bush bash.TFTC!
Thank you for the cache
I left a spare dry log for when current one fills up.
Currently 70-80% full

On a beautiful sunny not quite spring day, that was a little windy, the day started with a great event behind the War Memorial to Celebrate International caching day. The next activity was a walk along the Red Hill Ridge to visit the caches up there that have been waiting to be found both as puzzles and traditional caches for quite some time now. This was a group walk and we signed as RHR for Red Hill Ramblers and the group was Contesta, Joolay, Kitty Katch, Gliss!, Toy_Hunters, Sebass19 and albida33. All caches were found, even one with some recent DNFs. We finished the day with the new multi stage Letterbox nearby which was quite an interesting exercise.
Despite a few recent DNFs, we found this cache neatly hidden exactly where it really only could have been. The log was dry, but we added a new bag to help in the future. We had all sorts of theories about the DNFs, but it is there now with an old container and a log with old signatures in it.
Thanks for the cache Cankid

Making the most of the opportunity to duck out for a few hours of caching fun. Seeking out the occasional challenge or two, or trying to mop up as many solves as I can to keep that long list under control. Seems to increase faster than it decreases

Found in a group with Joolay, kittykatch, albida33, contesta, seebass, and Toyhunters. Signed as Red Hill Ramblers (RHR) Happy International Geocaching Day. TFTC.
Hmm, pretty sure I found the right spot, but no cache. Could do with a maintenance check.
tftc!

Great location, but definitely no cache. The area around the tree is quite bare and the three possible hidey holes only contained dirt, rocks, ants and a beetle grub.
I also inspected the more recently fallen limbs and the trees in the vicinity, but no cache here either.
The view was nice though.

#2963 Clearing another small section of Red Hill this afternoon. Thanks Cankid for this little adventure.
No magpie activity this evening. We did have a crow fly and sit on a branch to watch though. A fun cache to find with miss 4. Tftc
Could not get the cache. There were about a dozen very aggressive magpie swooping from all directions. What the fuck
I had to go into work today for a little while as we are busy coming back after break.
So due to lack of time I had to use one of my saved, close by caches to use for my daily cache find.
I parked at the recommended parking coords and made the short walk to GZ. Once there I was worried as I could see where the cache should be, but it wasn’t. Looking at the last few logs didn’t bring my spirits up as they were all newbs and I can’t always trust them.
Then I had the local gang swoop down to assist. Seems Aquilus1s mates were back. They were very chatty, but didn’t help much with the find. I went to logic and looked downhill a bit and was very happy to find the cache lodged up against a log with a lot of leaves and mid around it.
The inside was wet and the log soaked, but still able to sign it without any issues. I returned it to where I thought it should be then headed back to the car. Tftc Cankid!!!

Found it. Enchanting view from Red hill to mountains. Good to go a bit caches a bit walking
I have a small pocket of caches up this way i have been keen to get to so out in morning before it warms up to much. Still a coolness in the air which is nice.
So that was all a bit odd, about 100metres or so from this cache I paused to check my direction and a bunch of magpies flew down by my feet. Looking about I noticed the trees around me where full of magpies! It could have been something out of a horror movie but it was really very cool as the sang loudly by my feet and in the trees.
Anyway, they not so subtly followed me to the cache where the cache find had a good dozen magpies ground level with me, more in the trees. They sang while I signed and logged then disappeared back into the trees... I think! Thanks for the cache cankid, FP for the unexpected amusement!

Wow this is so cool, I love finding Indigenous sites it is a shame so many are forgotten and lost. Thanks for bringing me to this one
Didn’t take the recommended route to this find as we were up looking at the trig at the top of the hill. When I saw this was only 200m away off I went. Glad I did as well even though the walk back up wasn’t as simple thanks for the history and showing me this spot. Truly amazing
Watched a trio of black cockatoos nearby. Close and wonderful! Found the prize. Tftc
When approaching GZ, my eye was drawn to the wrong tree, but I was soon back on the right track!
Sorry to be a pedantic tree hugger, but the tree in question isn't a 'Snow Gum' (Eucalyptus pauciflora) - it is in fact Eucalyptus mannifera, commonly known as 'Brittle Gum' (a name indicating that the wood of this species is of limited value for construction). It is endemic to the ACT region and I understand is the most common tree species in the ACT urban forest. This particular specimen is having a bit of a tough time and is certainly in the scarred category - it isn't old enough to pre-date European settlement of the area.
The cache was easily found, and the recent log indicating that the logbook is full is incorrect - there is plenty of room left!
TFTC, Cankid

I liked the Corona lockdown time at the start of the year as it got us into a rythem. We went out pretty much every weekend for a walk together, which was nice. Today I had picked Red Hill where I was mainly for the 5K challenge which I was hopeping fulfill soon. And a number of othere caches on the south side of it Hoppy, Dino and Wilma had fun.
It seems the previous finder was a bit quick and did not close the cache. Not good but lucky it was not too long till the next find.
Thank you Cankid for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Out for a walk around Red Hill on a beaut Autumn arvo, picking up a few caches along the way
Spent Easter Sunday caching around red hill and then walking into red hill and Griffith. All up around 14km loop, and with great weather it was well worth it. A easy find, tftc
Quick easy find on a really busy day on the hill. Half of Canberra seemed to be here today. TFTC.
Was in Kingston of a Saturday and decided to go for a little walk in Red Hill afterwards.
"Scarred or Sacred"
Why not both?
(also, a prayer for the two bullants stuck in the container, I could not convince them to leave)
Thanks for the cache!

Great to be able to find one of the surviving Cankid traditionals, not many left now! Was grabbing a couple of caches on this side of the hill and this one was in my radius.
Found the tree quickly and then the cache thanks to the spot on coordinates. Still happily kicking on for now
Thanks!

A day of caching on Red Hill with BB - this was an easy find even with the hill ! Plenty of "big bouncing bunnies" keeping a close eye on all that was happening !
Cheers

Leisurely wander around Red Hill today, though the trip to this special tree and back again got the heart racing a little. Thanks for the hide (and exercise!).
out and about with Lil Rafa caching for the Megga doing this great Traditional and views. TFTC TNLN log dry.
Day 2 of our trip to Queanbeyan/Canberra for the Clear Waters Mega Event. Thanks for the cache. RLD4963 and I had completed a trail down south morning, so this afternoon we cached a bit closer to our base. We had just visited the trig at the top of Davidson's Hill and decided to see what else we could find in the area. A nice quick find.
Came here looking for Pedro the Bear but unfortunately he wasn’t here Good spot and a small walk to the cache! TFTC
Heading out for a walk I've decided to continue my exploration from a couple days ago. The sun is finally out and this cache starts my walk. The cache is in good condition. Tftc
Yeet found it 3 find in canberra for the day. Climb down was easy climb back up so hard
First cache in a while great spot on a cool but great day for walking.

Hi we found Pascal the bear and we are going to put him in another cashes we have had a great day finding cashes and we are proud because this is our first day and we fond five. So Pascal will be going to another cashe and he will hopefully meet a lot more new people.
Early morning find with the geo kids and geo puppy. Great to get off the beaten track. We were a little thrown buy a similar scarred tree in the vicinity, but soon found the right site. No pen with us, so we didn't update the log,but took the keyring and added a dice.
#3598 4 of 8 today.
I only had a few hours after lunch available today so I decided to head to Red Hill and finish off a batch. Weather started out a bit 'iffy' today with cloud and wind but I quickly discovered it was a lot warmer out of the wind - particularly slogging up hills. No snakes or magpies spoiled the fun today.
The cache was exposed and there was no log, so I added a logsheet. It should be good for a now.
