We are staying Feilding for a few days visiting family, and decided after all the rain and the long car journey we had to get here yesterday that we needed to get out and get some fresh air today, and what better way than to try and find a few caches in the park. This was our last cache of the day and we went round and round searching with our eyes, our torches, poking sticks and all to no avail. After one of the mini cachers got spiked in the head that made Mrs HeMaLuDy determined to make the find, however after a number of spikes herself, the final one to the head, she also gave up. 4 pairs of eyes were not successful here today, but we will return next time we are in town to have another go. A truly sneaky hide.
Good find. Took longer than it should of to find due to the spikes, and spiders.
A quick walk from *Horse Around* brought us to the second cache for the day which was located by geo-daughter before we could get there. TFTC SetuCrurst.
Staying overnight in the park before heading to Levin tomorrow a nice easy find . Thanks.
Out for a walk thus morning while staying at father's. Managed to puncture my Palm on a palm spike. Ouch
Cheers

This could have ended up taking a while to find but found in the third spot we tried. tftc
Brought my secret gps system out ( hahaha my partner) so he actually located this cache. Great location to park up and take a bite to eat.
As I approached this site, I had an "Oh no!" moment due to it bringing back memories of another cache that I had a lot of trouble locating. However, I had no problem this afternoon and I was soon signing the logsheet.
2/4 park n grabs while Master 10mths snoozed in the car. Not a very tropical day under the palm tree today but at least I enjoyed some peace & quiet while going through the formalities for this cache. TFTC
I have encountered a couple of similar hides before and struggled with them so I was quite surprised to go straight to this one.

Visiting my friend in Feilding. .An easy find with my very own special search engine, my good friend Pamela . TFTC
Approached on foot torch light illuminating the way, the said tree came into view.
took a circuit but a quick grab avoiding the nighttime critters and spikies.
logging complete, now to see if any more in fielding before we leave for palmy.
Cheers

Wandering around Feilding grabbing a few caches as I go and to a park I have not been to before. Spotted the palm tree from a distance. Got to GZ and took a look and it was in the first place I looked. Paperwork done and off to find another park cache. Thanks for the placement SetuCurst.
We've been working on eliminating dot-days recently but we've nearly cached-out Palmy and we had only a few options for today. Didn't have a lot of time and there were plenty of potential hiding spots so thankfully this was a reasonably quick find, having decided to search the most-likely side first. TFTC SetuCurst.
It took a number of circuits to locate this cache, but we got it in the end. TFTC
Almost instant find, a very quiet part of Timona Park today, after driving past once before and being confonted a Pony Club meeting across the way. Tftc.
Very straightforward find, and I saw the spikey ends and was able to avoid them
... TFTC and an enjoyable visit to this neck of the woods

Nice easy dash and cache, apart from the tree. Watch the spikes they are firmer than they look!!
First cache ever and had no problem locating. Me thinks this is going to be a great activity with the kids over Xmas, Feeling good and excited about future geocaching. Thanks for the cache.
Last find for today, Jordan makes the find - thanks

The last attempt for the weekend - successful and not hard. We needed this and we, being novices, had not done terribly well so far. Yay!
Caching in paradise, a gorgeous spring day in the Manawatu.
An obvious destination led to a straightforward find.
Cache in order, log signed; safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Parked the car under the palm. Have to watch those thorns. Ouch. Cache quickly in hand. TFTC
Today was the first day of a tour in Barnaby where we don't actually know exactly where we will go, nor how long we will be away. The joys of being retired . Our first overnight stop from a start in Upper Hutt was Feilding and we've stayed in Barnaby in Timona Park a couple of times before. After arriving near dark yesterday we were off to seek some caches after breakfast. With frost on the ground this was our first success of the day, a nice simple find. I'm glad I didn't have to fight my way in amongst the rather vicious spikes on the ends of the Phoenix palm fronds to find the cache, as they can be very painful. Mrs B chatted to some passing muggle dog walkers as I signed the log tucked behind the tree.
As I had to come down this way for work, and left early due to impending weather I wasn't going to let the opportunity for a few early morning caches go to waist.
It was still well dark while grabbing these caches but the walk was enjoyable and its always good to find caches
Thanks for the placement

Took a while to find this one.
Once I had found it, the location seemed quite obvious, but I had missed it on the first two or three laps.
Thanks.

It took a wee while to track down this, somewhat dangerously located, cache, with markhnz. Only Mrs W.E.K.A. was attacked, three times, by the tree. TFTC
A quick find, and avoided any spikes. Enjoyed the sunny Good Friday afternoon visit to the park. Thanks for bringing us here.
A dot-day cache which thanks to help from a previous finder helped me make the find, without spiking my head a second time! Blood was drawn, a price to pay for the find
TFTC, good hide

Quite a spikey place to vacation. But we managed to find it in between cyclists from a near by school going passed every 30 seconds or so. They must have been dispatched like that as it was as regular as clock work. Fortunately they were so focused on pushing forward into the wind that none of them even glanced our way.
Missed it on first look as container was smaller than expected. TFTC

Well after the second go at this cache i soon had this in hand and even managed not to get stabbed from the palms. Tftc left calling card
Out and about today, caching with tmann421. We did a circuit from Palmy. It was great to find a variety of hides in the Manawatu (even a few under braces!)
Thanks for the cache SetuCurst

Well after a good look in what we thought were the obvious places we racked up a fail. Although mother was in the car and after 10 minutes starts calling 'time out' ;-(
Over for the day to clean up some of the new Feilding caches. Was hoping this wasn't the same as the 'not a pineapple tree' in Levin but was a quick find for Mrs RiffRaff while Mr RRR had a zzz. TFTC
Glad we had torches - quick find before heading for last cache then on to manfield for a look at the fireworks. Tftc. We will be back for the last two tricky ones another day.
#7085. Lots of potential hiding places; luckily the cache was in one of the first places I looked. TFTC.
Easy to spot GZ , and a quick find. Thanks for all your hides, SetuCurst. We've enjoyed our days caching in Feilding.
