I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
I am advised this park is also now closed for Kauri Die back consideration. Any attempt to log this cache will be deleted.
Unfortunately the reserve is closed until further notice until a plan has been put in place regarding Kauri Dieback. Please check on the Forest & Bird website regarding updates and I will let you know too: https://www.forestandbird.org.nz/projects/colin-kerr-taylor-memorial-reserve-auckland
It's so nice to finally turn my frown upside down. After having a dnf on this over 2 years ago I returned with Jag50 today and this time my gps pointed in a different direction and Mrs Jag soon spied the cache.
Wow what a mission darn thing jumping all over the place but we got the smilies in the end t 4 t c great spot
Nice park, never knew it was even here. Helpful clue made easy work of the find, TFTC
DNF'd this one in August 2015 which was disappointing cos I had found all the others in this Reserve but it was a quick find today. Don't know how I missed it before but that's the nature of this game eh? Nice pleasant walk today TFTC
Heading home after a walk, took a detour to upgrade the log container to the latest anti mositure design. Cache all good -but it was hard to spot..... so upgraded the clue a little.
I tried to make sense out of the hint several times before I tried a combination that led me to the cache. The cache is amazingly dry on the inside. TFTC.
Well the hint made no sense to me baring the fence line mentioned which the GPS "0" on got it inthe end Tftc
Back again today for another look, wandered down the hill to GZ and searched where we had searched before except this time we found it. Not sure how we missed it last time but GPS was all over the place again. Nice to get this one ticked off. TFTC
Out for first caching adventure with vistra around Taylors Reserve. This is my second ever geocache find. Good hints and found easily. TFTC
I went out for a wander around Taylor's Reserve this afternoon with shelly b on her first official caching outing since signing up as a new member. This was only her 2nd find and it was her that interpreted the hint correctly and soon had the cache in hand. All was well with the cache, TFTC!
we were just about to give up looking for this one having looked all around the area. I told my husband to give up and then he turned around and there it was Container, log and contents in good order. We wrote in the log book and left a plastic dinosaur in the container!
Out for an afternoon bush walk to escape the heat. We attempted to visit Kerr-Taylor Reserve 8 days ago but were thwarted by the traffic going to a nearby Hot Rod show. Today no issues, nice and quiet.
Armed with the knowledge that the CO has recently visited and confirmed its existence we followed the GPS to gz but nothing quite stood out. Checked the hint but at this stage it did not help much. Expanded our search by a couple of meters and Scotty soon had the hide in hand. Upon taking a closer look at the hide itself we soon understood the meaning of the hint. Nice to find a cache that has not been found for so long. We are all enjoying our walk around Kerr-Taylor reserve so far. TFTC

popped down today given all the DNF's for and afternoon walk.. was amazed to find the cache exactly where we had left it almost a year ago to the day... updated log paper with waterproof log.
have updated the clue to hopefully assist since the gps network doesn't seem to view this as an important part of the world...

No luck for us today, GPS did have us about 11m away from the fence line but had a good search around according to the description but the cache eludes us today. May pay for owner to check it is still there due to the DNF's, don't mind if we are blind and can't find it but would like the reassurance as to whether the cache is there to be found. Fence line looked reasonably new.
We gave this one a pretty good shot. Coords were 15meters or so from a fenceline. Maybe this cache has not so much head' out to pasture' but possibly gone out to lunch.
Our gps was pointing us back into the bush nowhere near the fence line but we had a pretty good look around the whole area
Didn't even know this reserve existed but thought I would use it to learn about my new GPSr. I will use that as the excuse for not finding this one especially with the change in coordinates. Guess I will hafta come back for this one someday.

GPS starting wavering a bit under the pines but the hint helped and the cache was quickly found.
out on an easy walk with Alligatorsnz and almost converted teen son. lovely reserve here with a nice lick of mud and wet trees...and then this splash of smooth green scenery at GZ. finding a cache with the cache owner present never seems easy we looked for a while..round and round..this one and that..then hey presto there it was! Thanks
in the area to day.. log intact and dry.. but see some minor repairs needed.. will get on to it..
I heard the bleating and Maa-ing before we found the pasture. Nice the see the gamboling lambs in the sunshine. Worth the squelchy track. Loving this reserve, wonderful to be out and about in nature.
I thought the clue was deliberately misleading, which I thought was cool by the way, initially I wasn't sure if the 'exit' was referring to going away from me or coming towards me, so I searched both sides of the gate just in case. But found it eventually. TFTC.
Been saving this one for a day when the weather was inclement, or I was on call and couldn't venture too far off the beaten track. Well today fitted both conditions and saw us here for a short walk. Managed to dodge any bad weather with just a few spits starting as we exited the bush.

I remember coming out here some time ago hunting caches. A nice place to return to. Had to have a wee search around before spotting it as gps a bit all over the place and hint open to interpretation. Unfortunately left my tramping boots at home so had to squish through the squelchy bits in my gym shoes. Good fun. TFTC.
Decided do take my new tyres out for a spin during the late afternoon. It wouldn’t be a good trip without collecting some geocaches on the way. First stop with a longer break was at the Kerr-Taylor Reserve to collect the five geocaches which call this reserve home. TFTC
Nice track conditions at moment thanks to the good weather so was a very pleasant walk to/from gz.
Found after few mins search due to less than perfect gps signal

My first time in this Reserve and was delighted. Have been past many times.
Well done F & B. Took the time to do the bottom loop. Well worthwhile tftc.

Had been wanting to do these 5 for a while ....lived up this way for about 15 years ! TFTC
It is nice to be brought back to this piece of great bush.

Out and about with the Future Finder for a spot of caching before the rain. I had my eye on this one as a potential first week find, which seemed like reason enough for a hike out here. Cache was quickly detected once we navigated our way to GZ. First week find number 21 for the requirements of the full geo licence challenge cache. Cheers for the exercise!
Came here yesterday with master 4 but we had to stop looking when he got tired & cross. Came back by myself this morning and found it. Left a toy train. Tftc
We were enjoying an end of day coffee and contemplating where to go for our cache-of-the-day when a cache alert sounded. . . no, Warkworth is too far. Another alert . . . no, not going to the CBD at this hour. Third time . . . a bush walk 11km north. . . perfect! Checked it out and recognised the spot, so headed off.
There were no other cars at the parking spot when we arrived, so guessed the FTF was still up for grabs. We enjoyed the walk along a track we have visited before, and soon reached GZ. Lovely rural view here - the cache name is very apt. The cache was quickly located and the FTF confirmed - a nice bonus for our wedding anniversary, thanks .
