Apsley168 I found your cache Woody on 18/10/2024, 9:10am. This is my find 7142 and find # 1 today. A quick and easy find with the help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
It looks like some branches have fallen over the spot where the cache must have been + overgrown hope to find it another day
Tricky, needed very tricky eyes to findTip would be you dont need to be spiked to find it just a keen eye

Happened to be heading over to Bathurst today, so decided to come and grab this one being a nice accessible spot. Found the cache well enough, however it looks like the camo has swollen and the cache is stuck tight. Could not remove or unscrew the lid without damaging it. Photo has been taken.

Found on the ground and it appears that the cache had been run over by a mower as it was quite dented and could not be unscrewed. As a temporary measure, we hung on a tree. Details and photo will be sent to the CO. TFTC
Samuel suggested this as we were looking for the trig on the hill here. But after 5 minutes in the very long, wet grass and lifting spiky bushes, it got old.....
Pretty sure this is my fourth visit over about five years, maybe more. Had my daughter with me so felt less conspicuous. Picked up the camo straight away but put it down. A few minutes later, I gave it a closer look. Fave point for the camo and for driving me nuts all these years.

On our way to Dubbo, picking up a few smiles along the way. We are the woody’s, so when we saw the name of this cache we turned around to claim a find. Also chasing 50yrs challenge cache so this one will count towards our goal. FP added for the name sake & crafty hide. TFTC
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went for a wander around the Bathurst CBD, completing the Adventure Lab and collecting numerous other caches along the way. After returning to camp for lunch and a swim we headed out in the late afternoon for some caching in the Raglan area, which turned out to be a bit of a disaster with 4 DNF's in a row and only 1 find - we should have stayed in the pool!
And here's the last of our 4 DNF's. Searched amongst the prickly bushes, but failed to find a cache. Yet more time wasted on DNF's, with this probably being our worst ever DNF "streak"

Found it, container was just lying on the ground in the grass exposed away from garden. placed it slightly camouflaged on a bush right on the edge. Not sure where it was originally located.
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.

Tftc - originally thought it was sap but the geoson was quick to laugh while correcting me.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. It took a while. Good hint.
I’m not sure what the previous finder was talking about, but I’ve just been and checked and after replacing the split ring, all is well. There’s no need to extract the container from it’s camo, just unscrew the lid.
Flew in this afternoon from Melbourne (via Sydney) for some work tomorrow up in Oberon and intentionally came with enough time to do a little cache hunting (it helps if you have a hire car). My third cache stop on my way in from the Airport was this cache. Always wary of a Micro that hasn't been found for ages, I was amazed that I put my hand straight to it when I arrived at GZ.
Unfortunately, after that things didn't go so well. I couldn't extract the cache container from its camouflage... after much twisting and pulling I eventually manage to unscrew the lid without extracting the container. It was then I discovered part of the problem... the rubber seal had expanded and was jamming things up. In the process of getting it out, the ring was ripped apart and so, without it, I was able to screw the lid back on after signing the log. The other problem was that in the process, the metal split ring broke... yes, it was jammed in really tight. I left the remains with the cache but it probably should be replaced.
Thanks **Apsley168** for the cache... and I am sorry that I broke things a bit. As I didn't have anything with me to make a repair, the best I can do is leave you a Favourite Point.

Out with RoddyC while in Bathurst house sitting.
Thought we had better cache today while here.
Quick easy find.

Hatzofff and I are in Bathurst for a few weeks house sitting, and of course have time for lots of caching.
After we had a late lunch in the Geo Falcon we wandered across and I soon spotted a hide all too familiar with my style of hiding up home. Nice one.

Streak Day #2139 - Found this one on the ground near the seat as there is mowing going on...Have placed back in the garden. Might need to check on this to make sure it's in the right place. TFTC
Found the cache laying in the grass behind the seat. Placed it back in the garden but not sure if it's in the right place. Council was here mowing and whipper snipping so it may have been flung.
I noted that Woody was back in towne
Off I headed to say hello !!
And as usual in any parkland setting,
there was the council worker mowing the grass [:o]
How do they know ??
Between passes of the mower,
I poked the shrubberies.
Some poked back [:o]
Ow!!
Beginning to think that this was a woody needle in a lomandra stack,
I was ready to admit defeat.
Then ....
... Eureka

#4969- Out caching with thomo31- was concerned this may take us a while, but it was an instant find. Thanks
Found with WaywardWoman on a caching day out in the Bathurst area. A quicker find than we were expecting! Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
On road trip Sydney to Peak Hill. Weather getting cold, but managed to find it before my fingers fell off
Sneaky but if You pay attention it’s right there ......even at 4’11 I had to get low.... TFTF with Joshwyatt83
I now felt ready to continue my caching day, comfort stops are so important really....
I found this one surprisingly easy, I also think I was quite lucky with where I sat down to look; pretty much put my hand straight on something relevant. I have a similar hide so that may count but I think it was more luck of the draw than skill. tftc Aspley168

Mudgee trip for The Road Less Traveled series. Day 2. Bumeroo Ford to Sofala via lots of back roads and Kelso. On the outskirts of Bathurst, Raglan provided a nice cluster of caches before heading back to the TRLT series. This would have been easy to miss.
Thanks.

I've just been and checked this cache once again and, as I expected it's still in place, waiting to be found. You just have to look a bit harder!
14832. Found during a tour up around the Bathurst region with minniek.
With a full day available for a caching run for my birthday we headed up towards Bathurst to fill in many gaps and have a great days caching. This was the next find for the day. After a DNF last time it was nice to make the find this time. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we were off to the next one.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches !!

I suggest to fitzy_1965 that we should go caching for his birthday. He chose the Bathurst area. So with a list compiled, my only request was to grab some unloved caches so I could finally complete a challenge cache. We managed to fill in a lot of gaps and some previous DNF's.....although I think we ended up with more DNF's for the day
Glad to be turning a DNF into a smiley.....not so many spider webs here this time!

I've just checked on this and found that's still there. I've also just increased its difficulty rating. Keep looking.
Hi there Apsley168.
We found your cache **"Woody"** at 12:32:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17931).
We cached around the 'burbs of Bathurst hoping to log some of our prior DNF logs. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way.
Today we found 11 caches (& DNF'd 3). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After looking away from co ords found Woody. Cache creep. Returned him to where he is supposed to be. TFTC.
After finding the Ansley168 cache Lavenders Blue frazeydaze and I decided to attemp this cache on the way to White Rock to visit family. After frazeydaze explained the hint it was a reasonably quick find. I own an identical cache at Randwick and it shouldn't of needed an explanation. TFTC Ansley168.
After finding Lavender's blue, went with oldmorty to find this cache. Offered a suggestion about the hint and off he went, hiking stick in hand, to poke around the prickly bush. He came up trumps. TFTC Apsley168
Headed out on a geocaching weekend through Bathurst and on to Orange with Fitzy_1965. We have pre-solved a number of puzzles and they were our main priority. Added in the odd multi & traditional along the way.
Prickly bushes are very prickly and currently resident to lots of spiders. We both came away with lots of scratches but no find.

Having been alerted to the fact that there's been a fire in the area, I've just been out and checked. In spite of the area having been completely burnt out, the cache was still sitting there in place. What a little survivor!
I've temporarily disabled it and will re-locate it to somewhere nearby so it can continue to frustrate the faint of heart.

We have a thought on what this one may be but have decided to cAll off the hunt quickly.
Not sure how recent but there has been a fire through this area and wonder if it may have affected the cache.
We will take another look next time through.
Hope it is still ok

I thought the recent mowing/slashing may have affected the cache - I looked for ages but had no luck.
The area has been recently mowed and I struggled to get my device to settle on an accessible GZ. Decided to just use cachey-sense instead and had nearly given up when all was revealed. Log book is wet but I managed to sign it.

All of you people who are posting DNF's need to look a bit harder! I checked this morning and it's still there, waiting to be found. You don't even need to get off the grass!
A DNF today. Positve I was close but the garden is quite over grown. Maybe a check by CO?
A re post from my previous log as I accidentally put a find instead of a DNF
Out for a weekend of caching from Goulburn to Bathurst and surrounds with The Rats and Steeba.
Despite our best efforts we were unable to find this cache.
Cheers

We had no luck here tonight.... The weeds seeem to have taken over the garden bed
Lots of sticks...lots of prickles close to path...will need to try again later
Wilbert67 and us have been planning an over night trip to Bathurst and pre solved many puzzles in preparation, we also picked up quite a few others along the way. We left early in the morning and we were hoping for better weather in light of all the rain we been having and good weather we had. We had an enjoyable day with only 4 DNF out of approximately 43. A big thanks to all the CO for making our trip enjoyable. TFTC.
On A weekender with J+J.AU, Goulburn, Oberon, Bathurst, Lithgow and back is our goal. Solved lots of puzzles as a preparation for this trip and happy to collect in on a lot of them. More eyes makes easier caching. Started with some fog and cold on Saturday morning, but the weather got better and better. Thanks for putting out all the caches!
