Approached from the correct side and searched the obvious but came up empty today.
We were walking through the forest, and knew the bridge was doing works, so we walked down and there was a gap in the fence for us to cross over. It took us a while, and we would have eventually found it, but unfortunately there was a spoiler in one of the logs. Tftc team BGF. It was defibrillator one of our favourite.
Out and about today with Digger the Geodog poking about Benalla. Having an enjoyable stroll in the park. Love the hide. All good here. Now, onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Bridge is fenced off, but not for cachers However significant damage at each end suggests this one's gone despite our search. On the bright side, 6 Magpies greeted us and followed us all the way there and back. Clearly tame and being fed by locals. Thanks anyway Team BGF
Thanks, it was the best one I found I wouldnt of found it without my dog when she sniffed a pipe
Having a lovely walk while staying at the free camp (thank you Benalla). Decided to see if Yertle was home and he was and happy to have a visitor. Tftc
Yertle was indeed at home and allowed us to visit. A cute little fellow he is with a lovely outlook and room to keep his feet dry. TFTC
Found by my muggle friend.
After an afternoon of following me around, he finally got one.
Very clever.

Travelling from Croydon to Goughs Bay via the long round about way chasing favourite points for this months GCHQ souvenir challenge. The bonus is that I get to find some great geocaches in the Victorian counrtyside
Took me way longer than it should have but a great cache for one so simple, loved it!
**Thanks for placing this cache Team BGF**

Rutherglen Mega - Easter 2023 - Day 5: Tuesday
Spent the day on a loop trip around Corowa, Yarrawonga, Benalla and Wangaratta.
A short walk to GZ where Yertle was quickly located. Thanks!

With the threat of flooding finished, Yertle is being organised to return to his original home shortly.
Taking offline due to significant flooding along the BLS trail. Once waters recede will check and perform maintenance as necessary, prior to reenabling.
Yertle not home and water level up a bit due to recent rain. Didn't bring pen so couldn't sign log. TFTC
We knocked but no answer fortunately no muggles. River is up quite a bit but Yertle’s home is not threatened. TFTC
No Yertles were spotted but the cache sure was.
A nice hide in a sneaky spot.
SL away from GZ so no Muggles will see seeing they became a bit too common for comfort at the time i wanted to sign the log [:o]
Signed the dry log at 11:07 on Monday 25 July 2022
Returned the cache carefully with care with the Muggles well and truly away from GZ

Yertle has suffered badly. A new logsheet has been left in a temporary arrangement at gz whilst yertle recovers at a nearby medical facility
Not sure how we missed this one last time, but pleased to rectify a previous wrong.
Yertle was not home, but the cache container was.
This morning we left Ballan after a great stay with family and a celebration that went well into the evening, so it wasn't an early start!
The traffic was kind as we headed back into the outskirts of Melbourne and joined the Ring Road as we headed round to the Hume Highway for the trip to Benalla where we stayed for the night.
We met up with our good mate Rebel Acts who is joining us for the trip to Rutherglen where we hope to do some serious caching.
The journey was broken up by stops for caches en route, then finally arriving in Benalla where we dropped the van and set out to look for caches we had not found on our previous day.
Again, another satisfying day.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Team BGF.

Out on a caching adventure of 4 days with bushfire, Brisal 5 and Blackadder. We stayed nearby at Goorambat and travelled around from there. This had to be postponed a few times due to Covid.
Tag along and I have been to Benalla many times as we lived nearby when we were married. This was a new experience though as I am a geocacher now.
Stopped here and signed in as 3Bs, Team 3B6 or used name stamps. The sun shone us all day despite the weather prediction of rain and cold.
We searched everywhere. Once even touched it. Do turtles eat plastic and ink?
Yertle must have been hungry as Brisal knocked his stamp container and into the depths it fell for Yertle to play with.Team BGF
Thanks for the fun

In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally here. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
I am running late with my logs after finding so many in five full on caching days.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen.
Booking transferred to February 22. covid
Booking transferred to May 2022. Yah - made it albeit a tad late.
DAY 3: Some Winton Wetlands and back to Benalla:
The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Although we had a plan A, we progressed through Plan A, Plan B and ended up doing Plan -wing it. [^] So to save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 or similar. Sometimes I stamped logs, but that ended very suddenly. Here is what we found during plan - wing it.
Well that is the last time I will stamp a log with my stamp. I leaned out over the rail to look for the cache and heard a splash. My stamp fell out its holder and down into the murky depths of the creek. [:(!] To make matters worse I found the clever hide elsewhere.
***Thanks Team BGF for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Day 3 of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.
As always the planned targeted hides were not visited due to time constraints but many more varied and fun caches were found. A number of disabled caches were also looked for and found to be there but in need of attention by the owners.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.
Thank you for the cache Team BGF, found 5/05/2022, 4:37:08 PM

Poor Yert Someone has dropped him, needs a little glue and will be as good as new.

You know when you wake up in the morning and you have a list of things you should be doing, but the weather is fine and you spent the day before doing the things that keep the home and man running well. So you say, hell to the no, I'm going tobpick up some caches that tick boxes on some challenge caches I am working on. So off I go on my teeny tiny adventure, because I leave the big adventures for when I have my honey dalerious with me .
Poor little Yertle has a few issues that need some attention. The most pressing is the need for a replacement log.
Thanks again Team BGF.

Foxygurl and I stopped in here to see if we could find Yertle! We found him for sure and what a fitting name he has. This was a lovely little area to stop for a while, we never would have come here if it wasn't for the cache, love it when that happens!
Thanks for the cache and the pretty spot!

Strolling along, admiring all the doggos out walking, we detoured here and made the nice wee find. TFTC Team BGF.
Having a wonderful girls weekend away in honour of the nearby Mega event, spending time with Mummy Short Legs and Ms Manda Moo and making the most of the caches in the area. Wandering around this path with our coffees, the steps slowing as the heat started to build. We're happy to say that Yertle was home today and Ms Manda Moo was the lucky finder of this clever hide. TFTC Team BGF
On the way to Wangaratta, Memorychip and I decided to unstrap the bikes from the Nissan Tiida and ride around to stretch the legs and collect some smiley faces. Yertle was home and it was holding a geocache . Logbook was full so used an old receipt. It will need to be replaced tho.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining this series Such a beautiful spot that I have never been to before.

Added a little log as existing log is full. Needs a new logs still. Cheers
Driving to the Mega Wangaratta event with DonutHoles. Good chance to hangout and smashout some good caches.

A nice walk and Yertle was soon extracted and the cache logged.
Thanks Team BGF for the cache.
Thanks Team BGF for the cache.
Yertle is definitely home, perhaps he didn’t hear the bell ring . Will come back to replace full log
With restrictions in NE Vic easing this week it was time to get outside for a few caches with Cassie. I’ve been meaning to clean up the reef hills for a while so that became our afternoon target!
After that was done we turned our attention to Benalla to see if we could find a few Wonders.
Off for a walk we went.
Log book is full but we signed in a small space.

Found on a day trip with dalerious and was really hoping to finish the BLS but unfortunately didn't happen. Nice little walk through the bush to get to the cache. I was wearing my sunglasses and it was making my life a bit harder due to making any shadows darker then they should be. Finally found and signed. Very cool little cache. Thanks again Team BGF.
Day 2 of batching and so my aim today was to beat my previous record for a single day - which stood at 50 on a day around Beechworth and the Murmungee Basin in July 2018. Not a very big target (I am to get my first 100 day later this week) but hoped to get to 51 to make a nice round number (2300). So the plan was to load up the blue grader with CDs (not much sport on today) and head to a place I hadn't cached previously - Benalla. A good number of caches in close proximity and the opportunity to explore an area I hadn't visited before (other than a drive through on the freeway). Got away later than I wanted (though I needed the sleep) and finished in the dark (last was signed in the headlights) but in the end achieved my target (actually got 54) with a few DNFs (though only 1 logged) and some clever caches found and some nice places visited.
Another cache that could be difficult with walkers about - Yertle's home is very exposed from two directions and you could wonder what a grown man is doing sitting with a ceramic friend! Yertle's home was quickly located and the extraction tool makes achieving the cache easy. A very nice job indeed. Log signed and host returned for the next visitors.

Enjoying a lunchtime walk around the islands. Called in on Yertle, he is doing well and still has some room on his logsheet.
Ha ha - great little safe hide away yertle- these wetlands are looking to be a nice discovery but looking at grassy spring growth I’m glad to be here now before the slithering snakes get too active! TFTC

Walking around the Lake in Benalla today with the heavens about to open, but they held off and we completed the trail around the Lake.
Wonderful caches along the way, highlighting interesting places to see.
This one was cool, after thinking outside the square when we arrived at the GZ, we came up trumps relatively quickly, and yertle was happy to play after ringing the bell.
Awesome work on this one, deserves a fav point for this one.

A quick find whilst on a caching day in Benalla with the wackyweedos. Such a busy path on a Saturday morning. A fav point from us
Soo cute. Love Yertle!!! What a ripper. On a favourite point run with MrsStevo. Yertle almost gets us to 500. Fav for sure!
TFTC. We are camped at the Showgrounds for a few days. Today was the first time in a long while that we took our bikes off the back of the Motorhome. A quick morning ride to this one. Quick easy find in the expected location.
found it how cool is this one
Took some time as GPS on the phone was playing up but we'll worth finding

Such a cute cache holder. Took a bit to find it, wasn't where I first thought it might be, but when I checked something I had dismissed earlier -there he was! TFTC
We found Yertle safely tucked up in his home. Great hide. Found by Michelle with assistance from Craig. TFTC
Found but took a while. How clever are some of these hides in Benalla. Yes Yertle was home and well.TFTC
Found with fletch_4. Wat a great hide. Very clever thisgets a fav from me. Yertle was in great health. I loved his adorning jewellery. TFTC SL TNLN
This has to be one of my favorites, very cute and found without any problems.

Yep Yertle was home and it would seem partial to a bit of jewellery or bling considering the adornment of cache containers! When I spotted Yertle I did a double take because I wasn't sure whether I was seeing things, weird things, things of children's nightmares (or mine since I have a vivid imagination) that was readying itself to attack me! Fortunately not, just an inert Yertle.
Great cache which will be added to my list of favourites.
