A day out with Bucrog52 and at GZ here, we walked around searching everywhere. Finally I checked one area and I found it!!!! This one deserves a favourite for such a great hide. TFTC

26-May-24

21-May-24
Out and about today exploring the area with Digger the Geodog. Having a great time down by the river. Thanks for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. These are great hides. All good here. Now, onto the next one for the day. TFTC

24-Apr-24
Found with LittleBoss2 and Geo the puppy as we head to Mansfield via Benalla. Thanks again Team BGF. Got super lucky here and found within a minute. Hazy is on fire fave added to the long list

24-Apr-24
Found with Bogonghazy and Geo dog. whilst heading away to Mansfield for a getaway. Very sneaky hide. Thank goodness Bogonghazy was very quick to work it out. Thanks for placing the geocache

08-Apr-24
No luck

19-Sep-23
No idea it wasnt anywhere

08-Aug-23
Had a good look around. Decided it was wiser to leave it for now after finding a young snake sleeping in a branch. TFTH

08-Aug-23
While looking for this cache I did manage to find a juvenile brown snake inside a small hollow branch lying on the ground. I relocated the branch about 20m away, under a tree by the river. Take extreme caution when looking for this cache. Might be worth bumping the difficulty level up a bit.

11-Jun-23
Passing through on my way home after spending the day getting snow ready (skis instead of snowboarding this year).

That is one very hidden cache! Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Remember to be less depressy and more progressy!

(Log signed as Ellie).

11-Apr-23
After the mega, my sister Nakarra_L and I headed home the long way, and did some caching.
Really smart hide, Nakarra_L found it accidentally

10-Apr-23
Found on my way home after attending the Mega Event in Rutherglen. Spent some time caching around northern Benalla before heading towards Shepparton. Cleverly hidden cache! Thanks for the cache Team BGF!

10-Apr-23
Cache found haning on fence so was very thankful not muggled. Identified the issue is the ziplock bag so replaced with a smaller version and replaced cache securely to its home. All good here again.

06-Apr-23
Came back to Benalla for caching around here.
Found it
TFTH

04-Apr-23
Found cache on the ground sunny side up... unsure exact replacement spot.

18-Feb-23
We parked under a tree as it was very hot and we left the car running for our old dog.
Once at GZ, Mr C was fascinated by the cicada shells or skins attached the trees. Apparently he loved finding these as a child growing up in Sydney.
Eventually we found this clever cache. Very glad it survived the floods.

29-Nov-22
Found lying on the ground in the open. I think I can see where it's supposed to go but can't see how to fit so left for now. Flood must have been amazing here. So much debris. Thanks.

29-Nov-22
Returned cache back into position.

26-Nov-22
This was a very flukey find. I grabbed something, it moved and there was the cache. Very happy it survived the floodwaters (unlike 54 of my 55 caches) Clever hide. TFTC

26-Nov-22
The hint had thrown me. TBS was at it again. While I’m still searching, he’s out of the car and holding the cache in hand within seconds.
A very clever cache this one. It deserves a favourite from me
TFTC

28-Oct-22
Cache survived flood, maintenance performed and now back in play

27-Oct-22
Checked today and new logsheet and ziplock added

15-Oct-22
Taking offline due to significant flooding along the BLS trail. Once waters recede will check and perform maintenance as necessary, prior to reenabling.

26-Sep-22
Quick find but the logbook is saturated and needs attention.

23-Sep-22
Well played took along time to find

23-Sep-22

20-Aug-22

10-Jun-22
Another very well done this is definitely getting your favourite️

09-May-22

Out on a caching adventure of 4 days with bushfire, Brisal 5 and Blackadder. We stayed nearby at Goorambat and travelled around from there. This had to be postponed a few times due to Covid.
Although Tag along and I have been to this area many times. We lived nearby when we were newly married. This was a new experience however, as I am a geocacher now.
Stopped here, searched. Even had my hands on it. Brisal found that clever hide. A FP donated here. We signed in as 3Bs, Team 3B6 or used name stamps.
The sun shone us all day despite the weather prediction of rain and cold..
Thanks for the fun TeamBGF

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen. Twisted
Booking transferred to February 22. Razz covid Twisted
Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 5: The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Razz Today we spent the morning clearing a few more around Benalla, then called in at Glenrowan before spending the afternoon targeting the Randolph the Rats caches [^] Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 had done them so acted as chauffeur and laughing at us every time we ran into trouble doing a pub crawl and then attending church for penance. SurprisedWink You would have thought that a whole afternoon would suffice but we barely scratched the surface on this series. Razz Here is what we managed in a whole day until dusk!Surprised

What a ripper of a cache. Surprised Had us scratching our heads for a while but a closer examination turned up the cleverly constructed cache. Smile FP for the cache construction [:X]

***Thanks Team BGF for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

07-May-22
Day 5 of our trip to Victoria targeting around the Glenrowan and up to Beechworth areas with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2.

Our targets were once again, a few of the Randolph the Rat series where Bushfire and 6hinemoa2 were entertained by our antics searching for these elusive hides, and a number of others whilst nearby.
Rather than duplicating dialogue, much more detail is included in the logs of Brisal5.

All finds were visited and stamped by both the Adder and the Starfish. This is how we play.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

A very clever hide and worthy of a favourite, After the Adder had looked there the stafish uncovered the prize.

Thank you for the cache Team BGF, found 7/05/2022, 11:34:27 AM

07-May-22
In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
I am running late with my logs after finding so many in five full on caching days.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.
Another F.P.

03-May-22
After looking here looking there (for much too long) eventually found the very well thought out cache a fav from me

03-May-22
Spent a lot of time searching. Eventually took notice of the name of the cache. Found by caching mate. Amazing, absolutely incredible! Definitely a favourite. Thanks for the cache

30-Apr-22
There were a few muggles in the area when I approached GZ but initially I did not have any luck - not quite sure what I looking for. Then Lyn arrived and had a suggestion and there it was together with a myriad of ants and eggs. Finally able to sign the log and replace without being too covered with ants! A unique hide. Thanks to Team BGF for the cache.

18-Jan-22

Today we moved from Brown Brothers Wine camping area to the showgrounds at Benalla.
This morning was caching around the town & in the afternoon we took a pleasant drive down to Tatong visiting many historic locations. We finished the day doing the AL Tatong Artworks
Can't say I have seen a cache like this before. Took a while to spot.
FP given
Thankyou Team BGF for placing this cache.

17-Jan-22
On our way back from the Mega and trying to distract ourselves from how sad we are to be leaving country Vic and going back to normal life we stopped here for a few caches. This one was a fantastic hide!

Foxygurl and I loved the view of the river from the top of the fence. Don't worry we were standing not sitting

Hmm, I'd say that there are plenty of other places for cattle grazing but I'm not in charge haha!

While watching the river a very cute puppy bounded over and wanted pats, making this one of our favourite spots of the day for so many reasons, a point coming your way. Thanks for the cache and highlighting this lovely spot!

16-Jan-22
Excellent hide. Great hide. TFTC.

14-Jan-22
On the way to Wangaratta, Memorychip and I decided to unstrap the bikes from the Nissan Tiida and ride around to stretch the legs and collect some smiley faces. This was a very smart cache that took us longer than it should. Favourite point coming your way Smile

Such a beautiful place that I have never been to before.

14-Jan-22
I accidentally found this one very fast! Thank you!

14-Jan-22

One of many caches found during the week of the 2021 Wangaratta Mega. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to our recreational activity!

Took a few minutes to get my name on the log. A clever hide. TFTC

17-Nov-21
Following an issue highlighted in the previous log, checked this one out today. The cache had not been put back properly by a previous finder and was lucky not to have been compromised as a result. All good now but will need to replace the wet logsheet.

14-Nov-21
Finally, a weekend away for another KAKAGA adventure and although the MEGA event we'd aligned this trip with was postponed, we truly needed the time, space and company. Alas, the time to return to Gippsland had come and we decided to collect a cache per town on the way home.
We'd reached Benalla by this stage and were hangry. Not helped by two DNFs and a rather rude person at the gallery cafe, we were a bit disappointed in the town. Not to worry, in swept the amazing gentleman at the hotel near the railway who fed us an incredible lunch and now, full of tacos (me), corned beef (Kato) and good coffee (both of us), we approached this place with renewed hope in the town. Whilst the cache wasn't hidden as intended, we still enjoyed the area. TFTC Team BGF.

14-Nov-21
After such a very long time, it was amazing to hit the road again with Mummy Short Legs for yet another KAKAGA (Kate And Kelly's Amazing Geocaching Adventures). While the Mega was postponed, we still had accommodation and so we made the most of it in this lovely town over the weekend without the kids and husbands - bliss!

On our way home and stopped for a truly delicious meal at the local hotel. Stopped here amongst the rain squalls to check it out. A family of ducks were interested as well! Found it straight away but the poor thing needs some TLC - very very wet log in a ripped container. Tucked it away as best we could. TFTC Team BFG

We had the right idea - thought we knew what we were looking for, just had to figure out how it was to be ‘got’. A favourite point from us. TFTC

19-Jun-21
Out for a drive with my little Geo-kids today. Stopped to find a few caches on our way to the playground.

This one took a little while, but I eventually came back to something I’d dismissed when first at GZ. Very nicely placed!

Found by Rebel Acts

Mrs Rebel had to make a trip to Bonnie Doon to check on the horses at our Family property, this gave Me time to head over to Benella once again and make another dent in My unfound there.

This is one of the caches I found today. took a bit to find this one. I never sit on the fence.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

20-May-21
This cache series has some interesting and different hides. Only problem is they are giving us lots of grief! This was the most challenging so far, and it deserves a favourite

We left Geelong this morning after 10 great days visiting, exploring and, of course, caching and set off for warmer pastures. As neither of us has spent any time in Benalla for years we thought we’d stop and take a look around, and see just how many caches we could find in an afternoon. The free caravan spot down past the library is great. Plenty of spots to pick from, walking distance to the shopping centre, free clean toilets under the library and caches all round. Some of them provided quite a challenge, some were pretty easy and by doing them we saw quite a bit of this pretty town and it’s lovely old buildings. Thanks to all the COs for their time and efforts. We really appreciate it.

On a bit of a road trip today, travelling from Goughs Bay up to Beechworth for the CCE Event grabbing a few geocaches along the way.
Had the prize quickly in hand after considering "What doesn't fit in this picture?". Nice hide guys Wink

TFTC. We were heading back into Benalla after completing the silo art. Cannot resist stopping at caches along our route or short deviations therefrom.. We were in the sports area and wandered to GZ. After scratching my head I had a flash and cache was quickly found. A greaty hide and a FP from us.

10-Jan-21
We found it cracked benalla. Tftc

After terrible bad luck with finding caches in Benalla, we finally got one!!!!!! What a clever hide!

21-Nov-20
Well played Team BGF. A very well manufactured hide that deserves a favourite point. [^]
We had checked there and dismissed it but I went back for another look and discovered the sneaky hide.
Cheers for the effort here.

08-Nov-20
Great hide

27-Oct-20
Good to go again

06-Oct-20
Disabling until new logbook is installed

03-Oct-20
We found the cache but we could not sign the logbook because there wasn't one. The logbook appears to be missing in this cache. Also the cache on the football shed nearby seems to be missing as well. Might be an idea for the co to check both of these caches as they are right next to each other.cheers.

03-Oct-20
We didn't take a photo of this cache but we know we found it because it had a large green geocaching sticker on it.cheers.

26-Sep-20
I looked way too long for that!!! Somewhere in my travels I’ve lost my pen, I’m on foot atm so I’ll be back to sign the log.

31-Jul-20
Surprised this log can get wet. Replacement added and double bagged

29-Jul-20
After going crazy the first time and the gps bouncing everywhere i thought id checked everything except the used nappy, a message to the owner suggested otherwise and was easily found second time. Took the tb to dry it off

28-Jul-20
Tried to sign but logbook is wet

25-Jul-20
Wet log sheet and wet inside bag. Cool hide. Tftc

02-Jul-20
Wow I looked once, I looked twice & I walked away looking at more obvious spots. I came back & looked where I first thought. Such a clever contraption. FO from me! TFTC!

29-Sep-19
Day 2 of batching and so my aim today was to beat my previous record for a single day - which stood at 50 on a day around Beechworth and the Murmungee Basin in July 2018. Not a very big target (I am to get my first 100 day later this week) but hoped to get to 51 to make a nice round number (2300). So the plan was to load up the blue grader with CDs (not much sport on today) and head to a place I hadn't cached previously - Benalla. A good number of caches in close proximity and the opportunity to explore an area I hadn't visited before (other than a drive through on the freeway). Got away later than I wanted (though I needed the sleep) and finished in the dark (last was signed in the headlights) but in the end achieved my target (actually got 54) with a few DNFs (though only 1 logged) and some clever caches found and some nice places visited.

Wandered over to the river (surprised to see someone with a vehicle nearby) and started looking. Based on the notes I soon had an idea what I was looking for but some vital parts (including a log) seemed to be missing. Sent a photo to the CO who confirmed that indeed it was the cache, but gave me permission to log anyway. I will be back to sign it (I need to find that dirty nano nearby anyway).
TFTC Team BGFR and I look forward to seeing it returned in its full glory

29-Sep-19
Grabbed the cache today after receiving messages that it had been compromised. Thanks to those who reported the issue, much appreciated.

14-Aug-19

14-Jan-19
Absolutely NO sitting on the fence here... No Grazing as this area is lovely and could be better with the introduction of indigenous plants etc. It would be fantastic, growing plants rather than the existing ones being 'eaten' by animals [:o] I don't wanna sound like a Radical Greenie but it would benefit the natural wildlife like birds and smaller animals if it were left to grow [^]

The cache was a quick find and it's log was signed at 10:50 on the hot day of Monday 14 January 2019.

TFTC Team BGF Smile
