The ride along the river was nice - I looked for 15 min . A check by the CO would be a good idea [?]

I didn't really expect to find from previous logs but Muggle Hubby was keen to photograph a pelican so I searched in the meantime, to no avail.

I have found this cache in the past and just checked in. It is definitely not where it should be and the site shows signs of recent gardening. Requires replacement or archiving.

Spent far too much time here.

Spent a considerable amount of time but DNF! Any hints?! From Queensland so would be good to knock this one off before we leave in the morning. Any chance it could be stolen?

Visiting Ballina from Hobart and my little sister was keen to try "this geocaching thing". Stopped by this cache and had a decent look but didn't find it this time. Perhaps not a good first choice for an introduction to caching? The builders working on the building nearby called out and said that someone else was looking in the same place recently. Cover blown. Oops.

Hmm, a bit of misdirection going on here? Coords are good though, so if you start scratching your head over this one, maybe widen your search a bit.

Here's a story about Pelican Wharf. I used to work at a bank in Ballina, and sometimes I'd come to this park for lunch. One day, I was here and so were the pelicans. This one particular pelican proved he could do two things at once. As he took off into the air, he shat on me. Pelican crap smells like fish sauce. Makes sense I guess. At any rate, it landed on my skirt. This was fortunate as bank tellers are a bit like newsreaders - you only see their top half.

Thanks for the memories WaldenClan It's actually a great park, kind of postmodern and funky. Well worth a visit.

But consider yourself warned about the pelicans.

beatiful day here log book a little damp making paper a little brittle and hard to sighn,no ice cream yet,this was my first cache,let the addiction begin.

Geo husband tried first, no luck then Geowife tried, no luck.. Had a coffee at Cookieman. Then Geokids had a look, no luck. Just about to give up when Geowife looked next to where we thought it was. Log was too wet to sign. TFTC

Only in town for a few days. Had two attempts but no smilie (but it is a 3/5 and not a quick grab).

Loved the sculptures and the view. If it wasn't for caching I wouldn't have come here.

A great spot for a cache. Unfortunately were on a tight schedule and couldn't devote more than 15 minutes on this one and that clearly wasn't enough. Love the weathervane sculptures. Very cool.

We barely managed to sign the log as it is damp and full - desperately needs a new log. TFTC.

Loved those metal birds looking down while I found this one. Lots on the grass so no time to muck around.

Started searching in the wrong spot. Re-read the hint and soon had the cache in hand.

Difficult to open as the log was wet. The seal on cache is missing. Found a spot to sign.

So its second time back to the picnic table for me and again no cigar today. Looked all around but no sign of this nano ! Probably could have looked longer but some muggles wanted to use the table. Don't know when I'll be down this way again. Thanks for the challenge Waldenclan

With The Rats and I each on a family holiday in the vacinity, we decided to team up for an afternoon of cache finding.

Way too many muggles enjoying the late afternoon sun, including six sitting at GZ. We had to pass on a search. Next time.

Nice to see this back online after the big storm last year. Just on my way home and thought I'd drop by and see hoe muggle free it was.
After s short search I soon had the cache in hand. A sneaky little spot.

My last cache to find inside a 40km radius. Time to travel further afield.

I came here tonight after dinner nearby and conducted what I feel was a thorough search. GZ coords were a bit sketchy and didn't put me anywhere I thought 'I should look there'. After expanding the search area and poking in all the likely places I came up empty handed. The 'hint' in this area was next to useless

Woo hoo! With serendipitous timing, this one was published just as we were driving into Ballina to try again on a few nemesis caches. We abandoned those and rushed to be FTF on this one. Super hard to get the lid off, but we got there in the end. Geogirl was especially happy for the unplanned visit top the great playground here.
