While any one visiting the site would think this is public land, and many of us locals (I'm a former local now) treat it as such. I will accept that it is in fact private land; and will archive this cache.
Can any one retrieve the cache container? I'm nursing a broken collar bone so no climbing for me for some months.

Gorby put out the call on Facebook to grab some high caches. This was to be the last of the evening but shortly after pulling up at GZ the closest neighbour came out and wanted to know what was going on. He advised that this was private property and made it clear that the was extremely unhappy that we were all there.
We tried to explain geocaching to him but that just made it worse - trying to tell him we were looking for a container (not sure what it is), hidden by someone else (whom we dont know), its been here for 2 years and was found last month. None of this made it better in any way!
We all made a quick exit out of there.
I suggest you archive this one as per Agazo's earlier note.

Quick find on the way past.
Girlfriend wanted to climb the tree so I watched.
Grabbed the cache, threw it down to me, found the log was soaked,
Tried to sign but just started tearing the log
So took photo oh holding the cache as proof, but didn't sign.
Can send photo if wanted, but don't want to give away hints.

Found it! Log book is soaked and wasn't able to clearly sign. Have taken photo of log as proof that we were here. Have tightened securely but maintenance is required
On a trip to Auckland with Davidson Clan to take part in a Browns Island excursion. 0315 Bruce says to me "Well we're awake anyway" so this is where todays journey began. 0345 up a tree, headlamps and sleeping neighbours... thankful found without too much hassle - log was soaked but we managed to get our names on. Cheers dagonNZ
On a road trip with Phillip Perry this was our first cache of the day i did the honours and retrieved the cache at 345am i image this would be a busy place during the day so a good time to do it.

Found it, its still wet and I'd say 3,5 meters up, tried to sign as best I could

First climbed the wrong tree, then went to the correct one. BTW, this is definitely not 4m up, I think it's barely even 3
Logbook completely soaked, I took a pic.
Thanks for the cache! Greetings from Latvia!

Brought a special tool to help me access this one this morning so have finally found this cache although the log is absolutely saturated so couldn't sign it. TFTC
4.30pm - Arrived at GZ and the Squirrel questioned me as to where I was going to park. As near as I could and if it wasn't for the height this could have been a park and grab. SLTFTC
In Auckland (Te Atatu) for Gap's (of Fap and Gap) grandaughter's birthday. Picking up caches along the way...
Another cache Gap was planning on doing at a later time... But we were nearby today. Let's do it! I had to laugh when we arrived on site. A climbing cache... Guess who's going up? I gave Gap a boost and he had this sorted all too quickly. Meanwhile, a thousand Aucklanders drove by. TFTC.

I had to do at least one while down here in Auckland, and once again, I choose a simple one... Not.
MiniMaxy and I got to GZ, and since I am already a bit of a monkey, UP I go.
Stood on one branch and CRACK!
Crud, that was close. It was almost all the way down, but I managed to dislodge it even further.
Got the cache nice and easily.
Log is wet.

I talked my wife into stopping here on our way home. On first inspection I thought Geez how am I going to do that but a closer look uncovered a good hand hold and within a few seconds I had the container in hand. Thanks for a novel caching experience.
A couple of quick drive by's on the way to work to keep our daily streak running. The 1st ended up being a DNF but fortunately this one was still in play. Quick easy park, climb, find & sign. TFTC
A race to see which monkey would get there first. Glad for a bit of adventure. TFTC
Very discreet! Looked for it with friend from New Plymouth who was caching for first time. Found with help of experienced geo caches who happened to be passing by.
A fun cache to find, thanks! The tree climb was easier than I expected, and even on a busy afternoon you can do it while remaining reasonably hidden from passing traffic.
Whew! This was a real toughie! We were about to give up when stickman's eagle-eye caught it! Then I drew the short straw and had intrepid task of climbing the tree to retrieve it and having on for dear life while I signed the logbook. Not bad for us oldies SL. Tftc
The tree climb was a bit ambitious for this aging cacher. There were many hundreds of youthful muggles emerging from the Armageddon event at ASB Showgrounds. Maybe I should bring a small step ladder under cover of darkness next time.
We picked this one on the way through the area... #3 for the NZ trip.
Took a little while to spot the hide then an easy climb to retrieve the log and sign.
Good training for "Sky High" GC57YYR when we get back to Aust.

Found with nzanz before matariki show at the observatory. Had to go shirtless up the tree to save my new sweater. Wow. Tftc
Haha with the bf in our nice clothes on the way to the stardome fir matariki..i didny want to get my shoes muddy or rip my tights so samiamfrankham went up, shirtless, as he didnt want to ruin his new shirt and sweater. Photos not for faint hear
Took a wrong turn on the way home from an errand and ended up near here. Should have been back home ages ago, but it would have been rude not to at least give this a go. Unfortunately couldn't spot it from the ground so didn't start climbing any trees. Thought it best to return with less time pressure.
Ryan (Welsh mountain goat/son) promised me a day's caching now he has finished uni for the semester so we had a great day picking up caches that have appeared over time. This one fitted the bill nicely as he is a great tree climber. TFTC
Needed to get a special rated cache for my Geo Licence 3. So headed out for this one.
Took a bit of effort to lift my slightly overweight body up, but got there in the end.
Gets a favourite point from me

Geocaching morning with goober24
Last cache of the morning. This cache was a bit harder to open. had to use two hands, which forced me to balance precariously. goober24, acting as the 'stool' helped 'TREE'mendously.

Geocaching with my sis Gwen-o-nator.
Needed a human step-ladder for this one too (me), my limber sister got up this one as well as the 6m one on puriri drive. Probably spotted by muggles, but no one seemed to notice. Ha.

Second time visit for this got it on way home from work on a very brisk morning found I was barking up wrong tree last time tftc
On way hone to chch after boat show and had a bit of time to fill in so some night caching was on order. Bumped into some other cachers and the girls spotted it thanks for your assistance. Cheers richbritty
After about an hour I was back in the area with my GPS loaded correctly. Didn't need any climbing equipment to assist me in signing off this cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Lucky Ric was with me as I'm not much of a tree climber ....Even he needed a little extra help height wise though ....
Came back with some reinforcement, in the form of positive encouragement from KiwifruitsNZ, to tackle this climb. The streak continues! TFTC!
Was heading out for dinner so thought we would grab the recently published Puriri cache. Unfortunately, as a group of us at GZ found out, the cache had been disabled!!
So, Vamber and us decided to go tackle this one - had been on the list for a while! After some expert tree climbing from one of the team, with a gentle helping hand, the cache was soon in hand.

Spotted the cache but had the cycling shoes on so I'll just have to come by another time to claim a proper find.
Quickly located the cache and sent the tall one up the tree for the retrieval.

Saw this new notification come through yesterday but was busy at the time so thought id save it for after work today. Parked up in peak hour traffic but fortunately the cache location was a little hidden from view. Hauled myself up the tree and signed the log, just as some pedestrians went past, luckily they never saw me. Enjoyed the find, TFTC!
I was off like a shot when the notification for this came out being reasonably close to home. I think I'm getting conditioned like Pavlov's dog to new cache notifications.
Got to GZ after circling round the block thanks to the no right turn to the nearby side street and quickly spotted the hide. My first attempt to get up to it failed but with a concerted second effort I made my way up, nestled myself in the branch and spotted gernita approaching. I still hadn't got to the cache yet so more than happy for them to claim a joint FTF. Anyway, got the signing formalities out of the way and was having a chat when rather unsurprisingly FMZ turned up and gave him a hand with his find.
Thanks!

Since it was such a nice day, thought it would be rude not to pop out and find this new cache. Arrived to find slieschke and Gernita had just made the find, and slieschke gave me a helping hand. Nice of him. TFTC!!!
Had to get a rope from my car to be able to retrieve the cache. I would rate it higher than only a 2.
This is more of a did not attempt, as we didn't have the proper climbing attire with us in the car. Seeing it was a T2, we thought it would have been a straightforward find, and once assessing GZ, we soon realised this was not the case. The terrain rating definitely needs to be reassessed for this hide.
changed TERRAIN to 3, some people may need equipment, i climbed it with bare feet.

Thought I would collect this first day find (22) for purposes of the full geo licence challenge cache. After wandering about for a minute or two we soon spotted the cache...glad to see the terrain rating has been bumped. Pulled myself up to the cache and completed the formalities. Reflecting on the hide, I'm not sure this is so much an almost park, as under-utilised parcel of private property. I would suggest a careful look at the Auckland City maps (available online) to confirm. Anyway, cheers for the smiley.
Saw the cache notification, jumped in the car and arrived at GZ to hear 'Hello' from a high! The cache was already in slieschke's hand so we were a fraction to late for the FTF! FMZ arrived as we were chatting about recent caching adventures. TFTC
