Logs
On a road trip together with -moge-; across New Zealand; from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island; up, down, right, left ... So much to see, so much to experience. So many great, and sometimes old, cans! But I can hardly keep up with the logging. Far too exhausted from all the experiences. I am sorry that it will now be a standardized log for some founds.
Hallo GenCuster,DrDonna and I had something special planned for today. We were going to go zip lining and rafting. Of course, a few caches were not to be missed. After many, many hours of flying, a passage through China on the way there and through the United States of America on the way back, we will finally arrive in Christchurch which will be the starting point of our journey. We will enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and we will go back towards the North Island via State Highway 1. To combine business with pleasure, we will take regular breaks and small detours according to the caches that seem the most accessible to us.With a little more than 3500 km in 20 days, we will have discovered many facets of this island which is soothing. We will have to come back because there are so many places that we have not done . In broad strokes, the path will go from Christchurch to the Kaikoura Peninsula then towards Picton for the crossing to Wellington.New island, new road, and by State Highway 2 we go towards Hastings and Napier. We will leave the seaside for several days to go to Tongariro and Taupo. We will continue north towards Rotorua and Hamilton (without forgetting a detour via Hobbiton ) A detour to the Coromandel Peninsula and finally the almost north of the island with Whangarei and Waitangi to learn the history of this country. There will only be a few days left to spend towards Auckland and its suburbs before taking the plane back to the grayness of our European autumn. The majority of the boxes will be found, we have abandoned those where our English was lacking and where we could not understand the clue. Thanks to all the owners who brightened up our path, who took us to incredible places (that's also geocaching)In short, we had a great vacation, saw beautiful places that simply ask us to come back. We learned a lot about the history of this country and its traditions, it's a great motivation for our destinations.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Petit log en retard mais un peu plus complet maintenant que nous sommes rentrs la maison. Super cool cache! Inspired to build one similar for our place of the world. Hopeful to spot some rafts whilst we explore.
We were invited to explore this area thanks to three caches with high favourites. It was a delightful and interesting location to wander through. Thanks for this smiley GenCuster, good to collect a long standing cache with such interesting history.
Thanks for your amazing cache GenCuster. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.Found with Fisha1288 Cheers, Cympull.
Heading to Rotorua from Auckland, via Mount Maunganui, we broke our journey here to view these spectacular waterfalls. After parking up in the near deserted car park, we made our way along to this one first. The title was all that I needed to go straight to this neatly hidden cache & I soon had the formalities completed. I actually rafted the Tutea Falls back in 1995 BC, managing to break my wooden paddle in half during the trip!Found at 16:11Cache #10412TFTC GenCuster
Quick find here. In New Zealand for a couple of weeks catching up with sandyoftheseas family. Finding a few caches along the way.opted-out user, I found Black on Black under Back (Rotorua) today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Yess! Found it! We went on a day trip to the falls and caves but forgot to log this cache. We went back today to find it. Lovely day to take a walk with the family.
After a first brief visit to the Falls a couple of weeks ago we returned today to wander the trail and to view Tuteas Cave. Returning to the car, I took a more thorough look for this cache. A familiar container but Not what I was expecting here. Thanks opted-out user#5146Logged using Cachly.
Great cache. Nice day for some caching and plenty of muggles around so had to be a bit interested in the main object. Found at the beginning of a walk at Okere Falls. Ran into some fellow cachers who guessed what we were up to. Always great to see other cachers. TFTC
We decided to take our youngest for a bush walk and we love Okere Falls, so we figured we'd get some caching done at the same time! We started with this one, then went along the track to find others, before returning. We bumped into Hide&SeekTeam on the way back and made ourselves known when we saw them hiding behind the turbine, hunting for this prize! TFTC
Stopped in here to see a turbine and with good hints cache was quickly found. As luck would have it some rafters were about to come over the falls. Thanks for this adventure Tftc. Two Aussies enjoying their NZ trip!
That was a good one. Almost missed it with my sunglasses on but the other half of the grumpybears spotted it almost immediately.#2274 - Mar 8, 2024TFTC opted-out user
Thought this might be problematic with many a muggle about but fortunately put my hand straight on it.Thank you for placing

As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. We signed the log with N4. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.
EnglishWe are six Norwegians on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. We arrived in Melbourne at the beginning of February and are traveling home after the mega event in Adelaide. We travel by car and Geocaching helps us discover many nice places and often helps to decide where we choose the route between our goals which are: Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Dunedeen, and Adelaide. This is one of the caches we found on the trip and we thank you for showing us this place. We who are on tour have the nicknames: MrVonsr, ingsve, EllenSch and TeamEika. Cachehilsen fra Ellen Sch, NorgeMe and MrVon sr have come down to Australia and New Zealand, -an old dream has finally come to an end. Team Eika and Ingsve have also traveled with us on this trip.We have been traveling cross-country for a month, and the goal is to end up in Adeleide and mega-event on the leap year. We have especially looked for old caches, to fill jasmer'n, for a couple of pieces, and for the other two of us who have started to think about reviewing more. The vast majority of them showed up at their places, sometimes we had to search a bit, but we were usually lucky in the end. There were also some DNFs.We have mostly logged in with the common nickname N4 (ingsve, Von sr. TeamEika and Ellen Sch), but our own nicknames are also used.A big thank you to all you CO's for laying out and maintaining your caches. Without their work, we would never have been able to make a living with this hobby.Always nice to have a new smiley face on the map.Cache greetings from Ellen Sch, Norway
During a walk along the track, watching the rafting over the fall, finding the caches and enjoying the lush native bush. TFTC.
The rain started to bucket down just as we got out of the car which made our walk all the more wonderful. Took a while to locate, sign and replace as muggles out for a walk, with rafts, kayaks and all sorts kept streaming by.Thanks GenCuster
# #7,152 #----------Headed to the falls this morning to check them out and grab a couple caches. It was due to rain in the afternoon so thought Id make the most of the morning at least. Arrived at GZ where I was able to find it quickly without any problems from muggles. This find meant New Zealand overtook USA on my stats to be come my country with the second most finds in. Woo-hoo! TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ
We are heading to Rotorua as our last stop on our holiday. We stopped at Okere Falls for lunch and a quick walk. Thus one was collected between tourists while we had lunch.TFTC GenCuster
Took a couple of turns before we found this sneaky hide. Fabulous waterfall. TFTC
Found after exploring the falls and after disturbing a really big arachnid. Tftc
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. We stopped for this hide on the way to the falls. Not a muggle in sight allowed for an easier retrieval and soon our ink was on the log. A Momma bird was feeding it's young in a nest not too far away. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
No pen, looks very familiar to a recent one at the train tracks, quick find, tftc!
Greetings from Canberra, Australia! We came to this river to do white water rafting, it was scary, my goodness, but a rush of energy and a lot of tonne. Afterwards, we wanted to see our rafting route from above so we came to get a couple of caches along the way. Took a few minutes to find this one, very well camouflaged. TFTC!
