If it’s eluded those 3 it’s probably gone. Could CO take a look please (if still active)?

Quickly solved the puzzle. On my trip to Marton I decided to look for this once even when there were a couple of DNF's. I too could not locate the container. May be time for CO to look into this.

Enjoyed solving Marton's First Puzzle Cache. We took advantage of a break in the weather to drive to Marton this Saturday afternoon. GZ was all quiet when we arrived. Searched for some time, but we didn't find it.

No luck for me here today.

This was always going to be a bit of a caching trip in the company once again of HKCB. Having though about it and done a fair bit of planning over the past couple of weeks this was a chance for a reasonable clean out of an area that we don't normally get to. So with families in mind, rather than setting out on the Friday evening we left home at 2am on the Saturday morning to make our way south before either the heat of the day or there was too much traffic on the road.

Some stats for the weekend
- Distance Traveled = 1457 kms
- Petrol = 3 x Fills
- Time Away from Home = 42 hours
- Straight Driving Time = 6 hours
- Sleep = 4 hours
- Caches Found = 250
- DNF's = 3

So after a straight forward drive down here this was the first that we located of what was going to be a very long day, and followed by another very long day.

While I apologize that these are 'copy & paste" logs, I would just like to say thank you to all the CO's that have have put out and maintained these caches for us out of 'non-locals' to find. It was a great weekend and we traveled though some amazing countryside.
A key learning from the weekend was that a Mazda CX5 is not designed to ford rivers.
So thank you for the placement, thank you for the cache.

Having spent 4 or 5 days in the Manawatu it is time to head for home. Just a few more local caches to pick up before we leave. Solved this Flash puzzle before we left home and detoured to find Marton's First Puzzle Cache. All quiet near GZ, though there were a few kids playing not far away. Nice hide, thanks for the puzzle.

well as we had been here before and had a very good hunt around I knew I was going to give this one another go, so off we go get to gz we are followed by 3 young brave children (one I might add could pull the aussie accent off very well but had a few slip ups) we couldn't shake them off until in a stern voice that they seem to young to be hanging around here at this time (thinking that will spook them away) no turns out they had 2 more friends, well they stuck around like glue, so after asking where they live (somehow forgot which street and number) and backed off a bit, we managed to pull the find on while they were doing something else, as we were leaving one of he girls before came over said sorry she just gets a bit silly at times, Smile so still not sure why they were here alone coming upto strangers so hopefully they stay safe, so at long last thanks for the placement glad to get this one off my list of "to dos"

Sidewaze solved this one at home before we left on our great adventure so it was high on the priority list for out trip. Neither of us found it on the first pass but easily on the second. Thanks to her solve I now have another tool in my puzzle solving toolbox. TFTC #9270

Solved this a while back but was holding off going to look for it as I had intended to go with Mum to combine it with looking at glasses frames in the local optometrist. Turned out that was not open on a Saturday so this weekend we decided to go anyway today to look in the big furniture shop there. Spent way too long in the shop and bought a fabulous vase for our new house - a very generous birthday/new house gift from Mum! Eventually got to the cache and despite a very sore knee from last weekend's caching down in Kapiti I found it after not seeing it and making a call to a fellow cacher for confirmation before stressing the knee for a second look. Then it was a quick dash home to change before meeting the 3 x daughters at the Bridal Studio for no. 2 daughter to try on dresses for the forthcoming wedding. What a great day! TFTC.

After figuring out what the actual puzzle involved (namely viewing the cache on a PC at home), this one was pretty quick. Maybe I'll come back with the kids and let them have some fun looking for it.

Lennon, Hazel and I tried to find this one using the mobile app, but it only lead us to a place in the middle of the road, with no obvious hiding spots around.

I noticed just now that the web version has an animated gif. Could that be the actual puzzle? We figured the puzzle would be hidden at the map coordinates, and then tell us where the actual cache would be located.

Rayzr2 made a quick dive under the bridge to retrieve this one in the middle of the night with minimal light from a laser pointer as we had lost the torch in the boot of the car somewhere. Made the find on our way back to south Canterbury after a trip to Tauranga. tftc found with rayzr2

Nice quick ind on our way to an event in Wanganui had to come back to this one as there were lots of muggles close by so went on our merry way ,then after half an hour returned and everybody had left and cache was soon in hand and signed and replaced as found. TFTC

Fairly quiet here with only a few muggles on the nearby playground. Had solved the puzzle prior to our visit. We wandered and searched around for some time. Just as we thought about giving up, one last look provided us with the cache. tftc

Was down in Wellington for a few days, and decided that I'd make an extra long weekend of it and transfer a rental car back to Auckland and cache along the way. Unfortunately for the rental agency that ment nearly tripling the km's they thought I'd put on it!Smile

With the rental car company only giving me 48 hours to get the car to Auckland a little bit of planing was needed to maximise what I wanted to accomplish, and with only a few DNF's it turned out to be a very successful trip. So a big thanks to everyone who had placed caches along the way, and for showing me some great sight's along the way.

Day 1: Foxton through to Bulls.

Second visit here today as there were a few to many muggles about the first time and the saw me drive slowly past. So after finding the rest of the caches in the area I return and the muggles were still there but I spotted them this time so parked a bit further away and used some buildings as cover to get to GZ without being seen. A quick search soon had the cache in hand, thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

One of the Jr. Cachers needed to be dropped off at a swim-camp in Marton so we decided that this was a good opportunity to grab this cache. Having solved the puzzle some time ago it was great to finally visit GZ, however Mr All7ofusNZ became somewhat fixated on a particular fixture that on reflection clearly wasn't large enough to hold swaps... The GPSr kept returning to a particular spot and on a more thorough check the cache was finally located. Thanks for the puzzle InsanityNZ.

Cache # 2,837 - determined last night that we would swing through Marton on our way back to Wellington. Took a little bit of thinking to crack the puzzle, which was only half the effort needed. A very tricky hide today, and a number of muggles around, but Violet Butterfly, Astro Hunter and I managed to find and retrieve without issue. Nicely put together. TNLNSL. TFTC! And we completed the sweep of all caches in Marton to finish off our day. Smile

Did today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter. Cool hide and great spot. Thank you!

Found today with The Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly. Enjoyed watching the nearby go-carts in the field as much as finding the cache. Thank you. Swapped in a rattl stone and took a plastic bug.

I was out and about on a small geocaching mission with Tommygun9 tidying up the local area. It was a beautiful warm sunny day, spring is definitely on its way! I ended up with 18 finds for the day so not too bad.
A relatively quick find here with the help of Tommygun9. My last cache of the day as I head back home. This cache had been on my 'to find' list for a while now.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

Did the homework on this one last week with the intention of picking it up today on the way past. Got the coords sorted fairly quickly using a clever method suggested by techno lad Face. Today followed the GPSr to GZ and had a hunt around and soon found the cache in its wee hide. TNLNSL at this cache which was in very good order. Thanks for the Puzzle and the placement InsanityNZ.

01-Aug-15
Had the solution in hand for a while. Finally nipped back to Marton to clean up the caches in the area.

Good placement, hard to see at first and a little tricky to retrieve but all good.

31-Jul-15
a lot harder to get the cache out than finding it

23-May-15
This is my first puzzle cache and I was a little nervous however with a bit of googlefu the co-ordinates were swiftly unlocked. I then messed it up by not writing them down properly. My GPS then informed me in its own special way that they were wrong (thankfully before I went out to look in the wrong location). Anyway relooked at the answer, wrote the right ones down and off me Da and I went to get this and one other. (by this time it was dark). Once I got to the GZ it was fairly easy to spot the cache, actually getting the thing out of its hidyhole was a little tricker though. Got it in the end though. Many thanks. #74

13-May-15
After waiting for two groups of muggles walking dogs to leave I was finally able to start search. Came up trumps. Tftc

22-Apr-15
Bit of a quick Marton mission on an awesome Wednesday afternoon to clear out the town... time got away on me so the mission ended up being only two caches (50% of Marton) - still that gets me to 10 for April which isn't great but I wasn't going to let it stay on single digits!
One day last year, after solving a few caches in another region, I came up with one or two great ideas for caches simlar to this one... later that night I had a look around the local region only to find one of my ideas already in use! I guess that shows that it is indeed a good idea.
I rummaged a few spots at the GZ without joy, I read a few logs that assured me the GPS was good so I narrowed my search before re-widening it. I then read more logs and decided it must be where I thought it would be from the start - after some better looking I found it fairly quickly. The GPS was spot on too!
As we both seem to agree that this is a good idea for a puzzle, and the hide is both clever and in a nice spot, this cache earns a FP from me.

Did the homework and headed over to Marton to pick up some caches. Spent some time at GZ but failed to find the cache. Maybe another day?

Fun puzzle, didn't take to long to find at GZ thanks for the cache Smile

Was passing through Marton with LCBuilder on our way to Ohakune so decided I'd better work this one out so that we would have all the cache in Marton. Luckily it was an easy solve and found the cache after looking in a few spots. I overlooked the cache but LCBuilder spotted it! Smile TFTC

Looked and looked and looked. As you do.
Re-did the puzzle, in the field! Re-read description. Reviewed previous finders' logs.

Had to wait awhile to even go search for this cache as the hubby InsanityNZ placed it when I did eventually head out I forgot to log it TFTC

Solved the puzzle a few nights ago while preparing for today's geo-maintenance run from Wellington to Marton with JardisLikeTardis. We'd driven up to replace the trad my brother and I share at Lakeview Cemetery - Marton's first ever traditional - but couldn't resist grabbing the hides that have sprung up since then.
I briefly lived here - in Hair St - as a five-year-old (though my paternal grandmother called the town home for most of her adult life) but was still trying to get my bearings when we reached the final. Having read previous logs we had expected more trouble at GZ; however, I spotted the likely hiding spot upon approach and my geo-pal extracted it without a hitch.

I must admit that I have never actually been to Marton before, despite having zoomed past it and seen the signs on many an occasion. It turns out to be a lot bigger than I was expecting, with some charming old buildings in the centre of town. Kjwx and I enjoyed our wander out to the final as the sun was setting, which gave the whole area a lovely picturesque quality. Kjwx accurately predicted the cache's final location as we approached, and we had no trouble getting our hands on it quickly. TFTC

Puzzle turned out to be very appropriate for Marton, blink and you'll miss it Razz Good co-ords for me, and went straight to it.

Needed the son's computer expertise to avoid hernias in the eyes solving this one! At least the find was straightforward. TFTC

Solved this quite some time ago and lost the sheet with the coords so had to do it again last nigh. Spent half an hour searching and yes I did check there. Used PAF in the end and the cache was instantly in hand. TFTC

A cool puzzle and a nice spot for Martons First Puzzle Cache, well done, many thanks for the cache.

12-May-14
Tftc. Took a while to find this one! Glad to finally tick it off! Awesome! 12/5/14

An usual puzzle cache for me as it always seems the puzzle is harder than the cache hide but for this one the puzzle was the easy part, finding the cache took some work.

At GZ the gps didn't cope well with the trees so it lead me on a bit of a wild goose chase but once it settled the co ords were spot on - well done. I had to use a nearby stick to retrieve the cache.

The puzzle was a bit hard on the eyes, but markhnz assisted us with some electronic skullduggery which assisted in reading the coordinates. It took us quite a while to find the very well hidden cache this morning. TFTC

27-Apr-14
Found on my way to Cache & Play Event in Wanganui. Thanks for the cache.

18-Apr-14
[green] Some time ago I recognised that this is similar to one of my own puzzles, so I already had the tools to make this an easy solve. Today at long last this the day to do the job. I turn up (in a car for a change! Yay!) and there is a family playing nearby, but they were busy ignoring me. Took a bit of effort to extract the cache but, as usual, nature provided the necessary tools. Thanks! Moving on...

well spent a very very long time here today with setucurst trying to find this one with no luck, we had 3 gps units between us and they all jumped all over the show. so will be back maybe on a cooler day.
did notice though that either someone doesn't like trees or they are trying to kill them off as we found 2 trees that had been drilled into around the base..

Went to Marton to take a gander at the Harvest Fair. Had lovely hotdogs and chips, and churro's of course. Stopped at the bookshop for geo-daughter and geo-hubby and then took off to grab this cache before heading home to organise for birthday celebrations. Was wandering around on the footpath in the middle of the street feeling very conspicuous and after about 20 minutes, thought nah, we'll give it away. Mrs RRR decided to check the printout one more time and then did a Homer "Doh!" and slapped her head, Homer-style, and proceeded to put the FINAL co-ords into the GPSr instead of the page co-ords. Du-uh! Once proper co-ords installed we were off to the place where we thought it probably was in the first place. Took a little digging by Mr RiffRaff, but he came up trumps. Well hidden but not unfindable. Love the little bridge although it brought back memories of Mrs RiffRaffs little slam-dunk on the one outside Feilding. LOL

- nothing, + a gnome, with no 'gnome' to go to. Ha ha. Loved the ani gif. SL TFTC

02-Mar-14
Managed to extract the coordinates farily quickly.
We made a slight detour on our way from Wanganui to Palmerston North to find this one.
It didn't take too long to find.
Nice hide.
Thanks.

Out with MJMNZ to look for some tricky ones. And this was certainly one of those. First. I needed help with seeing the co0-ords. And. Once at GZ we took quite a while to find this well hidden cache... thanks

01-Mar-14
Another tricky cache revisited. Out with Haden-seek-677 to find those tricky one. Coordinates spot on. Researched several times where I had search before and suddenly Wilma had cache in her hand and it was of a reasonable size.
Certainly a tricky one

Went squid eyed trying to work it out. Went to a park but no luck. Will try again when I can check I have the right spot as spent 40 minutes looking.

10-Feb-14
Being a tech head Mrs RiffRaff knew how to reverse engineer the animated gif so as not to turn her eyeballs inside out trying to read the co-ords. Not sure if that was cheating, but similarly as a tech head, she was very impressed with the creation of the gif as a puzzle. Well done. Will be picking up when we're next over.
