Looked up and down. Couldn't find it. Might not be there anymore? Nice view though.
Searched 10 m either side of GZ on the bottom wire and the lower one in the grass but nothing there.
No luck here. It looks like a lot of dirt has come down from the paddock during the floods.
Day 13 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today we are in the area and surrounding area of Rotorua. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

Right next to 2 of the most epic of the Patupaiarehe whare lol total believer great GC!
A quick journey down a side road. Managed to put my foot into the puddle hidden by the grass. Log absolutely dry. Like the golf ball. TFTC radionut50.
Nice little stop for a find on our way home to Hamilton from Rotorua. So windy though!!! Giant golf ball was interesting too
Heading back from Rotorua after seeing family and we decided to do a spot of geocaching on the way. I was so focused on the side of the road, I didn’t see the golf ball in the distance until we had parked the car at GZ! A quick easy find here thanks
In the general area on a ulysses Thursday ride surprising I haven't logged this one before
Great hint! Great place - can’t see it; can’t see it ..... boom there it is! Great info. TFTC
Tftc awesome spot. I worked out in the bush in the late 1960’s had the pleasure of meeting Barry Crump when he came to make a documentary for NZTV 66/67. Certainly a different sight in torrential rains. Happy to find this one. Dropped a Travel Bug
I am driving down to Rotorua for the 20th anniversary celebration on Saturday. This was a stop along the way. TFTC.

[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Well this was one of those caches I had wanted to visit, and thankfully I got here before it was dark. The sun is setting, but I looked across and spied the ....... and had to laugh
Now where are those giants hiding, thought the cache container was appropriate too
Thanks for the hide radionut50, a fun find today

Thanks radionut for replacing this one - stopped by on our way back from a special mission to Rotovegas with G-2 and gorby. I had previously failed to find this one - I would disagree with the CO's assertion of the worst mobile phone lol, clearly that day my phone was not having a good day as it had me quite far away... but today it started off a bit fuzzy but zeroed in pretty nicely on the cache for a reaosnably quick find. TFTC!!!!
We have gone down to Alert 3 in our Covid-19 lockdown, and Geocaching is now allowed, so time to re-enable the caches.
DISABLING THIS CACHE TO DISCOURAGE HUNTING DURING THE COVID-19 LOCK-DOWN. NEW LOGS AFTER TODAY MAY BE DELETED. THE CACHE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Replaced the cache today with a large bison tube (black metal tube with a hook on the top), hanging from the second-to-bottom wire against the post.
This will keep it out of the water that pools a bit in winter here, and will stop the cows dragging it out into the paddock as happened once in the past.
The cache should be easy to find - look at the base of posts (not battens, a post is something that goes into the ground. Battens tie the wires together but do not go down all the way to the ground), at the listed waypoint. There are not very many of these in the typical 5-ish metre maximum expected error zone, even with the worst of mobile phones location capability.

Quick find, cache was eet, dried it out for you. The Doppler is very cool. FOUR!!!!!
When you see it you understand the title. Lol Pretty out there. Little bit of hunt around then finally came up with the right one. Thanks for bringing us to this spot. Tftc
Lived down the road from this for years, had seen it before in the distance but never thought about what it was. Good to know, tftc.
Soo many fence posts. Checked tons of them but did not find. Maybe we were missing something as everyone else found it. But very interesting spot
Another point of interest in our area. Have wondered but now we know what this is. TFTC
I'm down in Rotorua for the weekend, and I'm chasing caches for the '400' challenge. Somehow I missed this one for it's co-ords as I drove down from Auckland. So I had to back track a little to get it. Got to GZ and after reading previous logs I started to wonder if I had the right co-ords... but finding the cache proved otherwise, took a foto of deep fog in the general direction of the golf tee, didn't see anything. I looked thru previous fotos on the cache page then noticed where I should have been looking for the golf tee. Hard to see in the fog though, thanks for bringing me here too btw.
I decided to come to Rotorua as there are plenty of unfound caches here to find so that for today my calender changes to a darker shade of green.
I would hate to see the size of the club.
Cheers for the cache.

Meandering towards Rotorua to catch up with a friend and decided to stop for a few caches today that I always tend to zoom past. I haven’t driven up this side road before and had to laugh when I saw the object on the horizon - the cache name is very fitting! A spot worth marking. No problems with the Cache today, tftc
I kind of knew what to expect here but I didn't know New Zealand had any. Rather like the big ones on Fylingdales Moor that didn't appear on the OS map (sure to fool the Russians, that one!). Cache found in good condition. Interesting way to ensure it doesn't float away. TFTC.
Heading to Rotorua after a few days in Matamata. This is kinda crappy parking - why the heck would the COplace the cache here? Crappy decision. And then I looked up. Ahh! That's why the CO put the cache here! I wonder if it does double duty as a water tower?
Still chasing after the planets, doing my part for the Planetary Pursuit promotion. of the 500 points I need to reach Pluto, I now have over 2000. Where does that put me? The Oort Cloud?

We started our geocaching adventures on Jan 2 and thought we 'might' like it... speed through to the end of the month and we're loving this new obsession! We made several goals during the month... let's try and get 50... maybe we should aim for 100... until last night when we said we only need 5 more to get to 200. So this afternoon after work we got busy and carried out our plan and this is lucky #200! Thanks so much for cool hiding spot and we're really happy to finally find out what that object in the distance is actually for
200 for January not bad for the start of our geocaching journey. Missed the reference on the way up the road but spotted it on the way back and quickly had the cache in hand. Yay for a new addictive hobby!
Had a good read up about this Giant Golf Ball was super interesting. Thanks for bringing me here today
3095 Spent a few hours in Rotorua collecting some puzzle caches I had solved. Had a bit of time so on the way home did a circuit round to collect the caches in this area. As I drove down towards I was wondering on the cache name and it wasn't until I was out of my car did I spot the tell. Parked perfectly and soon had the cache in hand. Was surprised of the chain in the container. Some moisture in it but log all good. Thanks for the placement.
Wernt kidding about wht looks like a huge golf ball on a tee. Neva new that was even there. Goes to show we don't really no our own backyard . Good hide thanks
Another good find on a bit of a trip away.
*Good weather and fun drive around.*

An interesting sight. The cache was very wet- might need some maintenance. thanks radionut50
What an intriguing structure that I wouldn't have noticed if the cache hadn't been here.
All nice and quiet at GZ for a quick turnaround. Interested to see the nearby technology. Tftc
It really does look like a game for giants!!!!! The cache was a bit wet but the waterproof paper meant we could still sign it. Tftc

Morrinsville to Rotorua.
After a couple of days caching around dairy country we now head for the tourist area.
We stopped to find this on the way.
Thanks for placing this cache radionut50

Was planning a big ride thru the Redwoods today but the bad weather put a stop to that, so today was drive by cache pickup day.
easy find, but there was a newly formed river going right over the cache (from the rain), lucky for us it was held in place by rocks and had waterproof log paper.

I don't care - I'm going to say 'easy find' with relief after being out this way for our second unsuccessful attempt at the wily neighbour.
Thanks for placing this one, with an interesting explanation of what it is. It is just as described! We would never have driven down here without your prompt.

While passing the big golf tee with David the Hampster and Cainos Extremis we looked down and there it was! Awesome! Thanks
28/06/16 16:30 Dot Day - and pretty easy to find seeing as I specifically had a replacement container and waterproof log with me. The problem with the GZ is that any container is liable to float away. This one is full of chain. Apparently chain is great for weighting down 'stuff' so it stays underwater. Just saying... Cheers, GC.
The GPS took us to the most likely spot. The big one was in full view, but not the cache. All along the fence line the vegetation had been cleared and the ground was bare, so it is possible that the cache is missing.
The road on which this cache lives is being sealed from 18 January 2016 to March 2016. While it is an easy find the road will be busy with large machinery and it will be difficult to stop and retrieve the cache unless it is the weekend.
#1644. What an intriguing cache. Never seen a giant golf ball on a tee before. Quite spectacular really. The cache is meant to be easy I see in the description but today it was there for the picking. The cows have grazed away all the long grass leaving a cache that can be seen from the road. Logbook was quite damp but still able to sign it. Thanks for showing me this structure and explaining its purpose. I would have been left wondering without that detailed description. Cheers GSEL
Made this a lot harder than it should have been with extra driving doing a u turn in someone's yard, stepping in a cow pat and then finding the cache which was full of water. A fun little adventure. Thanks
The golf ball was round about the size I need these days, with a club to match. However, the cache was easily spotted floating in a pool of water. The container is dry but the logbook is damp. Was able to sign the log ok but it may need some attention in the future. TFTC
A wee detour off the main road and a quick find. Cheers.
TIme to head home to Christchurch, the slow way!
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

we actually missed the giant golf ball the first time - but once spotted had the cache in hand no worries
Can't have a caching road trip without a gravel road. Didn't notice the large gold ball until we read the hint!! Nice quick find. Container was upside down and had let water in so tipped water out of cache. Log still dry. Tftc
Out and about around midnight, knocking off 2 dot days and cleaning up around Tirau.
6th cache, and 5th success so far, it was pitch black so I couldn't see the large golfball, which meant I had to rely on the hint. Was all fine once I expanded the search area.
I've put some radio gear into a few vehicles and buildings, guessing this wouldn't be a bad spot for a VHF or UHF link. I always have enjoyed radionut50s caches.

This was my sixth stop of the day which would end up being a 260km round trip from Tauranga to Matamata via Rotorua, Tirau, Okororie and other small towns. Got 29 caches, a photo to complete a virtual cache and two TB's.
It was very grey and lightly raining when I made it here this morning, I guess the equipment would have been doing a good job tracking it but I checked my phones weather app and it said sunny....a quick find and sign was made and back into the car.
Thanks radionut50

Thanks for the cache, very easy park and grab. The container may need a little talc as the camo is flaking off.
