A quick stop on the way into the city of Logan for a presentation. Interesting little sculpture! Thanks.
Out and about on the south side this morning picking up a few caches. Following my way through the recently released whereigo caches and picking up nearby caches along the way.Not sure what was on this morning nearby but the car park was packed.Enjoyed solving this earthcache and picking up some more Info for the whereigo I was working on.Pleased to turn this earthcache into a smilieA big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available for the enjoyment of others.Cheers
I visited this sculpture and must admit that with out this earth cache to focus my attention to the requirements of the questions I would have just looked and passed on. But this earth cache has rendered it a learning experience and for this I thank you Gullivers Travels54. A favourite point awarded and answers have been sent to the CO.
Visiting Logan entertainment centre for a dance competition. Couldnt pass up this right outside the venue.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 154 - Logan Day 7. GCLOGAN event day 6. Today was the first day of this event week that did not have an early event of activity to attend. I took advantage of this and had a slow, or closer to normal, start of the day. Once the relaxing time was over I joined Kitty Katch and Grimraider for a drive to Redlands to do a few caches in that county. We found some labs and had a nice morning coffee. After lunch back at the caravan park it was time to line up for th second train event. I was on my eScooter along with others and Geono's on bikes. We found the caches suppled for the day and managed some others as well. Kitty Katch and I then filled in the afternoon before the dinner event with a few caches that seemed to be not too far away, but as ever took some time to reach. The sunset event was great, even though it was dark b the time I arrived. Some one else coking is always good, thanks Grimraider. After a long day, it was nice to head back to the van for a wind down and bed. After a great unexpected find on a huge metal object, we came to checkout this stone one. It is a much nicer piece of art and we came up with some answers and they have been sent in by Kitty Katch for both of us. Time to head off to the evening event. Thanks for the cache Gullivers Travels5449411.29 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 14000 Finds A#283**Albida**
GCLOGAN TripI stopped by with albida33 today to check out this EC. A lovely sculptue and interesting lesson. I am travelling with GrimRaider to GCLogan and then to western NSW on our first trip with the van. Thanks for hiding this cache Gullivers Travels54
Out and about in the gardens area today, caching and viewing many kids out and about with their families. Cool sculpture in this area. Beautifully carved. Thanks for bringing us here. Answers sent to the CO. TFTC
Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Today we drove from the Gold Coast to Brisbane, with several stops along the way. Great weather once again paved the way for another decent caching day. After a frustrating DNF at the nearby trad, walked down to this earthcache to make the stop here worthwhile. A very nice sculpture, clear that a lot of love was put into its creation. Answers were sent and already confirmed. Thanks for the cache
My first earth cache. Driven past often but never stopped to have a closer look. Definitely a sculpture open to interpretation. Im really enjoying find these interesting points in our local community that are often overlooked. TFTC Gullivers Travels 54
This cache suited my need for the challenge cache to spell A-P-R-I-L in April. So I headed over to Logan to complete this Earthcache. Ive been past here many times but Ive never stopped. Thank you Gullivers Travels54. I hope I got my measurement guesstimates correct!
Out before (just before) the sun rises and came across this great little sculpture. Answers submitted, TFTC.
I have lived near this cache for so long and have now moved over to Bribie Island. A trip down this way and the need for an EC in March for a challenge finally has me completing this cache. This is my 3rd attempt. I kept doing it, then losing the photo, then thinking I would just do it again next time I was driving past. I think this has been about 5 years in the making! Glad to have it ticked off now.
We are on a one week holiday road trip from Sydney to Brisbane to Sydney, with pre-booked accommodation at the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort at Gold Coast and then at Big4 NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort at Arrawarra (Coffs Harbour), with some other as yet undetermined overnight stops along the M1 route there & back. Will be attempting to log a broad selection of cache types whilst in Queensland (at least one each of Trad, Multi, Mystery, Letterbox, Earth, Wherigo, Virtual, & AdLab), including a visit to Queenslands oldest geocache GC8E - Queens land. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.Today (day 2) we drove from Arrawarra (near Coffs Harbour) to Slacks Creek (Queensland), to deliver some items to our son at his new Queensland abode, then headed over to Karawatha Forest Park to visit Queensland's oldest geocache and the two nearby anniversary caches. We then collected a variety of cache types (a Multi, a Mystery, an EarthCache, and 3 Lab stages) around the Logan area, before driving to our pre-booked accommodation at the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort at Gold Coast. This was the 6th of 11 finds for the day (day 2), and 11th find of the holiday. After visiting & finding Queensland's oldest geocache, and it's two nearby anniversary caches, we next came to this EarthCache. Arrived at the sculpture and used our large tape measure to measure it's height, then gathered the other requested information, before posing for a selfie photo with the sculpture. Our answers to the questions have been submitted, and subsequently approved, by the CO. TFTEC Gullivers Travels54, it was an enjoyable visit.Find #6646

Brisbane and Sunny Coast, it is great to be back! I have lived here for a short period many, many years ago. At that time generally only caches at prominent spots or with plenty of favourite points attracted my attention. A lot has changed since then and I am all into the deeper caching stats since quite some time. Some years ago I wanted to put faces to names, so had planned to attend the local Mega Event and find numerous caches while being in the area. Unfortunately, the pandemic got in the way and meant that I had to cancel all travel arrangements last minute. This left me with a list of literary hundreds of caches, which included solved geoarts, caches that were worth getting to due to their old age or their rare type, challenge caches, or caches that would count towards filling my individual size and type D/T matrixes. Fortunately, this list that took months to prepare was not for nothing, as now I am finally back in the area, even if it’s just for a short trip. In the lead up to my current visit I updated my list and tried to streamline the route as good as possible to make the best out of my limited time. The grand aim aside of getting a couple more caches for filling my Jasmer calendar was completing lots of loops! This included completing my 4th overall D/T matrix loop and completing the D/T matrix using only mystery caches, and only small sized caches!! Of course the shabby weather couldn’t stop me from putting my plan into action. So, I am now very happy to log my find of this cache after all this effort. Thank you very much Gullivers Travels54 for creating and placing Logan Desert Growth! It certainly was a great trip which brought me to great caches and locations!

1MinnieMoo ;was keen to get a souvenir for Earthcache Weekend. I suggested this one as I was trying to qualify myself for a Challenge. Apparently I haven't found an Earthcache in Logan
We pulled up on a somewhat drizzly day. That aptly started to turn into a rainy day We collected our clues and discussed the answers before seeking shelter from the rain and then returning again to GZ.

It was Earthcache Weekend and the weather was rather miserable. I had to do a spot of maintenance on a cache of mine in the city, so Fangsoki and I checked the map for Earthcaches around that we could visit once my duties were complete.
We decided this one ticked a few boxes and would not require a rainy day hike, so made our way south.
We wondered if anything would be on at the Logan Entertainment Centre today, however upon arrival we were pleased to find the area rather quiet, with only one other car in the car park, which belonged to an Uber driver.
At GZ we worked out our answers and tried to take some half decent photos with the light rain hitting our faces. Luckily we were only a little damp when we got back to the car, and with the warm weather we’d had, didn’t feel too cold.
Then we decided to head to Sunnybank for some Japanese for lunch as our rainy day EC reward.
Thanks for the Earthcache Gullivers Travels54.

Logging an earth cache to get the souvenir. Thanks for the cache. I would not have noticed this sculpture otherwise.

A lovely park and interesting sculpture made up of a couple natural materials. The flame is impressive in size and shape. It was raining heavily so we were unable to stay for very long.

TUFTC. great earth cache and statue. Only realised it was here when I opened my app during a show intermission. Stealth was definitely required as it was a busy show. Also a nice quick one.

This was an interesting spot, and I like the use of 2 different materials in the sculpture.

Out with Brislions earlier looking to become a survivor and help him with his 6000th Cache find. Now TGG & I came to pick up an Earthcache. A first having to measure my intended topic target ..... COOL! Thankyou.
Out with Muggle65 for a souvenir today. He really enjoyed the measuring part although we got a lot of different answers before we settled on one that seemed reasonable. Thank you for an interesting Earthcache

A long time ago I met the CO when they visited Norfolk Island They to.d me about this Earthcache and I put it in my list of caches to find. Today I was in the area and stopped by to gather the answers. This was a little tricky as the location is a vaccination hub for the area. I didn’t need a jab as I already double jabbed. but I was able to quickly gather the answers and take a photo between the people joking the line to be jabbed. Answers have been sent to the CO.

Over Regents Park way today doing some Good Samaritan work. After some successful cache finding, lol, and my time spent watching drones take off and land it was time to head home. I saw this one as I was passing and thought I would take a look, as it seemed to be in a rather unusual spot for an earth cache. I parked up and looked around and then I spotted the cache. With the information obtained and a quick selfie, got to get the sunlight right, it was back into the car and heading home.
Thank you for this cache, I have been here a few times before but never really took the time to take in this sculpture, now I understand what it is about, thank you.

It certainly is an oddity; strange location, strange sculpture. If it was Art versus Science here, science gets my vote, the geology is much more interesting than the art!

Cache 7415 on 4 Apr 2021.
Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!
This cache: another earth cache! We are rocking the earth caches this trip! Photo attached. Answers sent to the CO..!

Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with our attendance at the Slacks Creek CITO event. Once the area was cleaned of litter, jesswrigley and I separated, and so I continued to stay around the Slacks Creek and Logan area. I primarily followed the *Ugo in Slacks Creek* Wherigo as it took me a tour of the vicinity, and then later, I visited the centre of Logan and completed the *Logan Gardens* Adventure Lab. Just after lunch, the torrential rain started, and I decided to head home earlier than anticipated.
There must have been some event happening nearby in the entertainment centre, as the nearby car park was completely full. Rather than parking a little away and walking, I decided to make a temporary park since I knew I would only be a few minutes in studying this sculpture. I walked down the ramp, and studied the associated plaque whilst inspecting the sculpture's geology. Once I had gathered the necessary answers, I was on my way once again. My answers were sent to the CO for verification. Thanks Gullivers Travels54 for the EarthCache placement and organisation.

I had several target caches that I was after and most of those were caches to finish off the JULY Challenge. As of today I still needed a J, U and and Y and since I'm running out of caches where I am, I decided to head over to the dark side of town to an area that had all those letters that I needed.
The day consisted of 6 different cache types (Wherigo, Traditional, Earthcache, Letterbox, Virtual and Mystery) with plenty of time spent driving around and around and around Slacks Creek, then off to Karawatha Forest to weave in and out of the many different trails this place has to offer, but be careful, if you're not paying attention to where you're going you could easily get lost, plus it was my first time here, so I didn't know what to expect. While on my travels between caches I also picked up a few traditionals and even an Earthcache that I pass every Wednesday for work, so it was nice to finally grab that one while I could.
Thank you for bringing me to all these locations, many of them I've never visited before, so thanks. All in all it was a stunning, but rather warm day here on the southside of Brisbane.
I'm always up for an Earthcache when I see one nearby, so I quickly dropped past to get the required information. I actually drive past this one every Wednesday for work, but I don't have the time to check it out, so I'm here today.

Picked up a few caches after snatching ADI from the airport. We obtained the answers to the questions in between rain showers. TFTC
I really liked this sculpture! Took a selfie photo to add later if need be. Answers sent by TeamARF as buddied up today for a 25 unique DT challenge. I am particularly impressed by the two double barrelled geological names!!! TFTC
After checking democracy in practice and one piece of art work, headed over to the pile of rock. Pretty impressive pile of rock it was too and it was localish!!
After taking a few photos for the scrap book, noted the relevant information then hit the road. Thanks for highlighting this art Gullivers Travels54. Logging the find with the CO's collective permission.

I believe it was a Saturday when the sandstone was created. Bigger than I thought from the car park.
Spellzen sent the answers in and we got notified they were good! So logging our first earthcache as a find! Woooo! Cheers! Teazr and Spellzen
Thank you so much for this EC. We decided to try our hand at our first EC and thought we would start nice and local. These types of caches really do open your perspective to what is around you. Answers sent and a reply from CO was quickly received. Cheers! Spellzen and Teazr

Sunday was a quiet day at the earthcache and we got a park metres away. We were pretty happy with that as we had hopes of finding a few other caches.... admittedly this didn't go exactly to plan but we didn't know that at the time.
We liked this sculpture... we liked it even more after researching some info about it. TF an interesting EC Gullivers Travels54.

While down in the region helping out at my grandfather's house, I decided to grab the nearest earthcache for this weekend's souvenir that didn't involve walking for kilometres through this everlasting rain, and thus, a visit to this precinct was born. Not a single other person was mad enough to be out around here, so I was able to park close and dash through the drops to GZ. I had to duck under to wipe the rain off the info sign in order to read it, but that was easy enough, and even in the rain, I could see the detail in the stone. Quite a nice sculpture, though it reminds me more of a flame than flora! And desert... in this flood of rain... luckily I have an imagination! TFTC, Gullivers Travels54. =^.^=
Was here with NeversayDi collecting caches before the Christmas in July event.

Found this with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!
Heading home from a couple of nights on the Gold Coast to celebrate friends getting married... well I am working on a 'spell July in July' challenge and need an earthcache and ooh look here's one almost on the way back home. So we detoured and stopped by to admire this piece, gather the info, and then continued on our way. Our answers have been sent to the CO.
I do like this combination of mediums, thanks for the earthcache, Gullvers Travels54.

I visited this earthcache today with Selva Girls, who was kind enough to stop here for me, having already logged this one herself. I had seen pictures of the sculpture and wanted to visit for quite a while. I was very happy to finally see it in person today. My answers have been sent to the CO. Tftc Gullivers Travels54
After a massive day of caching my son and I only had one cache to complete our D/T challenge. We drove to the McDonalds nearby to wash our hands, use the facilities and reward ourselves with a couple of large iced lattes (no sugar syrup).
It was just under a 30 minute drive but after walking all day we had that uh-oh moment when you get out of the car and you suddenly realise how sore everything is. Sitting down you are oblivious to the state you are in.
We jumped into the car and drove into an empty car park. Fair enough at 6pm on a Sunday night. I told my son how my first job was at Logan City Council and those days I would drive to work from Caboolture each day. With the traffic on the gateway these days that would have driven me even maderer than I already am.
We read the cache description and got into an almighty debate about the height. You would think that our last cache of the day would be smooth but clearly we were frayed from all edges.
Answers emailed and a huge relief swept over us. I had to thank my son for an awesome day of caching and the huge effort he put in. tftc

A simple little earthcache that I managed to come by and visit today. I am not much of an artist, nor art aficionado, but I did like to see that the Logan community is putting an effort into celebrating the geological roots of the area.
I have submitted the answers to the CO, and thank you for showing me this place. Thanks for the earthcache!

Email sent to owner. If answers not okay, please delete this log. Visited this cache as we had an event to attend at the Logan Art Gallery. Too hot to hang around too much. Thanks for showing us this art.
Found 16 November 2017 11:07 am. Staying with my sister in law in Brisbane for a little following an emergency trip up to Bundaberg. Having time to run around looking for caches here in Brisbane. Thanks for the Earth Cache. Logged with permission.
Over visiting from NZ and out to find some of the local caches whilst out sightseeing. What better way to see some of the more unknown spots and learn about the local areas, than to visit some earthcaches.
Called in here after an afternoon in Karawatha forest, to see this impressive sculpture. Sorted out the info required and have sent the answers to the CO.
Thx for setting up this earthcache.

In a weird area there was a jewel to be found - this EC. Thanks Gullivers Travels54 for luring me here and pointing this piece of artwork (by nature and artist) out to me!
As geomum wanted to visit a local club, I decided to make this cache the one to visit to gain my earthcache souvenir. The item was spotted well before we reached GZ and the answers to the questions gathered. I had never been here so was very interested to see the area was so well looked after. I have sent my answers to the CO. I would like to thank them for bringing me here to view this interesting item. TFTC
TFTC! I have been needing the motivation to come out & do this cache. What better day than world earth cache day
Needed an L cache for the JULY challenge, so this one fitted the bill.
