Came up to find this and the other close by. sounds like it's been muggled so will hope it's back in place soon.

07-Feb-16
Came by the quarry for a look.
As a previous finder of both the original Gib Rocks + Gib Rocks Again,

I can confirm the cache is missing from GZ.
The tree that the hint refers to has been hacked down with a bush saw.
Muggled with it, I would most probably believe.

Will triple check the hide, but I'm certain it is gone.

Last time we were here we had no luck, today, GZ was away from where we had searched before, still no luck, read the hint to see if that related, had it in seconds then.

A lovely morning walk on the trails of the Gib. Nice cache at an interesting spot. I measured alternative coords as they seemed to be slightly off and changed travellers.

09-Nov-15
Our first find of the day, during our stay in the lovely town of Bowral, after I photographed the geocoin in front of the Bowral Cenetaph, where I intend to be at 11AM on Remembrance Day.

Took nothing, but left a Canadian Forces Geocoin that wants to travel to Cenotaphs and War Cemetaries throughout the world, eventually getting to Menin Gate in Belgium. If you have never been there, you need to visit it at dusk every day, where Last Post is bugled every sundown. It is both humbling, and inspiring that after the 100+years since World War I the local citizenry still plays tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to free their country.

Please help me honour those who gave their lives for the freedom we all take for granted, by photographing the Geocoin at Cenotaphs and War Memorials, as well as war grave cemetaries.

Thanks for the cache.

This was a lovely walk.
Out caching with more experienced cachers for a fun time.

I need to find a way to distinguish one rock from another when there is essentially no difference between them. We went through this same routine last week where a cache was buried beneath a huge pile of rocks you couldn't tell apart. This time I had two things going for me. First, the coordinates are fairly accurate. Second, ATCF found the cache thus making my life a whole lot easier.

I think I've been here before to find the original cache but think I got a DNF on that one. Better luck today after looking in a few wrong places. The hint definitely helped.

At the moment I'm on a work and travel backpacking trip through the world. Most of the first two years I'll spend in Australia and I'm trying to solve my 365 days of caching challenge during this trip. The chance of having a moving home zone should be taken, as it will make the challenge so much easier.

This one was a quick and easy find.

TFTC and greetings from Germany

Took us a while. We had 14 sets of eyes looking for it. We were scrambling up and down and checking in all the usual nooks and crannys. A member of Luck6 checked some past logs which helped her head off in another direction. Then a geokid from Hush5 looked and there it was. Love a good size container in a great location. TFTC.

After a girly road trip was called with Takibi, DopAmel and Aykayem for the 15-year anniversary of the first Aussie geocache we were on the way out of Sydney and had plenty of time for more caching so decided to spend a bit of time in the area. Made the correct decision to approach the group of caches here from the entrance at the end of Ellen Street. No fence issues from this end currently and we enjoyed the scenic views as we explored the trails.

Once at GZ we had some fun exploring but wow - talk about wildly inaccurate GPS readings! Mine was jumping about all over the place like something that has been inhabited by the larva of a small moth. So we resorted to the clue and thankfully four sets of eyes are significantly better than one....or more to the point....DopAmel's eyes were better than mine as I was looking in completely the wrong location!

Found on a day out caching with Delloro. We'd planned on a hike out to Bonnum Pic but it was too wet for that so we ended up spending the day around this area caching instead. It turned out to be a great day with a good variety of caches. Took a while to locate this one but it's a nice spot to spend a while searching. TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

Mr Hancock and I were planning on attempting Bonnum Pic today, but the weather gods had other ideas.

Our original plans thwarted, a great day was had caching around the southern highlands.

A stone quarry in the rain is not the best place for a good signal, this one took a while....

This one took the longest to find today. So many places to hide a cache here! For future finders we found the cache 10-20 paces north-ish of where the GPSr was taking us.I thought I took a waypoint but upon getting home it looks like I forgot to save it - whoops! But maybe that was just today as this is a tough area for these devices.

Thank you for bringing us here - what a lovely spot - never knew this place existed! TFTC!

[ 4 / 36 | 17925 ]

Found it with Team FIN [kapeka & laalaa]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Greetings from Finland!

The weekend had arrived! So this meant another geomission with Rapidlywild gallivanting around the Southern Highlands again Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin Certainly was a weekend of quality caching!

We'd joust found the other nearby trad, so up we went to return to this spot once again Smile Last time we were here we found the remnants of the other cache that was muggled-a torn, plastic shopping bag and the old, weathered log. And it is also the spot where RW damaged her expensive sunnies (that will happen when you decide to chuck a golfball around!) [:O)][8]

Anyway, I went straight to the likely spot to then have the cache in hand in seconds. Had a chuckle at the old log in the cache as we reminisced when we saw our log in it from our previous visit.

So then with caching duties complete, we were off for more Smile

Thanks for reinstating this one, TheElephantz Smile

10-Aug-14
Well, it was time for another specimenX and Rapidlywild adventure, definately overdue and looking forward to a good weekend Smile We had cleaned up some "straggler" caches we had along the highway and made our way to the hotel and checked in. We lasted about 15 minutes at the hotel and we were back on the road. Its caching time Big Grin

We had decided to hit the Mario series as we had spoken to the CO at an event in Canberra a few months back and he advised us of this new series. We just had to come out and grab it, and we are VERY glad we did Big Grin We had finished the Mario Series and were now collecting some newer caches in the area.

Well we had been here before !! This is where my expensive Jaguar sunglasses got dropped and have a perminent scratch on the lense. Today again, I was wearing the same sunglasses as they are no longer considered my "Good" glasses [:p]

GPS was going crazy due to the surroundings so we put the GPS's away and went on geo-instincts. specimenX soon came up with the find in record time Big Grin

Logging duties completed, we had a giggle at the old log from the previous cache inside.....

Off we continue to the next find. Thanks for bringing us back here TheElephantz Big Grin

18 of 19 today on my Bowral, Moss Vale, Sutton Forrest, Berrima, Mittagong loop!
From 8:30 - 6:00. Day well spent [^]

I returned! I came, I saw, I conquered!

GPS Putting me in 3 different spots, so I put it away and focused on clues from description/hints and pictures

~~ Spoilers ~~
Description "Large Ammo Container"..."Neatly Stacked"... "Neatly hidden"
Hint "Trees grow out of the rocks"
Pictures: Child on moss covered/speckled boulder.

I lost my pen Sad in the search.

TFTC... again. FTF on the original hahaha. Good times.

The cache is still alive and well.

FOR DNF'ers.
Just keep repeating the hint in your head. Move to a location, search, move onto another hinted location.

12-Jul-14
Just as previous cacher - Lot of searching and left empty handed.

Tried searching rock faces, not keen enough to poke too deep into holes that looked 'in-use'.

I'll try again tomorrow, hopefully there is luck.

08-Jul-14
Couldn't find either despite a lot searching

06-Jul-14
I could never find the other cache that used to be here and again it seemed as though the GPS gods struggled down the bottom of the cliffs. I grabbed some previous log co-ords which helped a bit and eventually found the hidey hole- so glad to have finally found a cache here. I can recommend the nearby EarthCache too Wink!

A nice bonus cache as Lokipagan and I made our way up here to do the Earthcache... Loki was doing the navigating so I had no idea this one was here... [^]

After gathering the first E/C clues, we made our way to GZ and got into the hunt. I was sure I knew where the cache was, until Loki pulled it out from a spot about 10m away... Hmm, guess I was wrong... Wink

Cheers Elephantz.

Have reposted Rainbow Spirit's waypoint as coords were quite a ways out for us today and that log is creeping down the page a bit.
Started where the GPS was pointing but with no luck there, widened our search area and soon spotted something suspicious. Cache is in good condition. The quarry face looks pretty amazing, especially in the wet. No rock climbers to attend with today though due to the weather.
Thanks TheElephantz Big Grin

After a long and unsuccessful search here and then a quick find at On The Rocks I returned to the car. I then decided to tackle the earth cache anyway and realised that it entailed a return to the site of this cache. This time I grabbed the phone which allowed me to access more info. than the GPS and soon found the cache some distance from where I had been looking. TFTC.

03-May-14

We came to the area for the earth cache and did a scan of other caches to see one 16m away and another 165m away there was only one thing to do and that was to go and find them.

Gibs Rocks Again was first in the quarry took a while to locate as the co-ords seemed about 20m out where as the earth cache way point nearby was a good match. So even after moving away from the quarry wall to get a bearing it was not that accurate. Anyway we spread out and it was to find the ammo can. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.
It was then off to On the Rocks Again. Once we picked the right track we looked in a couple of spots before seeing the camo. As per previous logs the lid is broken so the log is in danger of getting wet. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Decided it was time I did a Highlands cache while working my way through the calendar. There was certainly a sense of Deja Vu as I approached this one, although I seem to be a lot fitter because I got to the familiar area barely breaking a sweat. I remember being really puffed last time I came here! Anyway, this was a very quick find, again quite a contrast to last time. Having read the hint at home I didn't even turn the GPS on, just headed to the first likely spot and there it was. It's good to see a cache resurrected after archiving and this is a great location. I'll do the nearby one on another blank calendar day. TFTC!

Read the listing....read a few logs.....read the hint.....and cache was found.

Not sure if the GPS is useless or not...but the hint certainly isn't. So many thanks for that.

A cool little spot that we have visited before, for the previous cache, which we unfortunately we didn't find, and the Earthcache. Good to see the old log book in this one.

Thanks TheElephantz.....good to come back.

#1551 - 15:20; Headed up the Hume to Berrima for an outing with the geohoney and her friend. After they browsed their way through the local establishments and we had lunch, it was off to Bowral for a bit more of a look around. I had had the related earthcache on my 'to do' list for a while, so when the chance came up today, off I went. After gathering the required information for said earthcache, I found I was only a matter of metres from this cache. Or so I thought. A previous finder has advised "...the GPSr was useless." I disagree, I suspect the coords are out! I found myself 15 metres from the GZ indicated by the GPSr when I actually made the find after searching high and low along another area that fit the hint. Wished I had read a log posted by the CO on the earlier cache that this one has replaced, would have made for a much quicker find! TFTC TheElephanz Smile
