Logs
Currently, I dont meet the necessary requirements to log this Challenge as a find, but hopefully in the not too distant future, Ill be converting this note into a . At the time of signing the log, my D/T averages are:* Average Difficulty = 1.84* Average Terrain = 1.77So a little ways to go with my Average Terrain score. ( 0,0 ) /) )\
Day 16 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane and back to Blue Mountains. With my geomobile repairs not completed in Brisbane, heading home via a rental car. Left Queensland half an hour earlier, this is my next geo-stop. Over 1.5 years of geocaching (shorter than many other geocachers attempting this challenge), I havent yet reached 2.0 averages. As of today, my Averages are: Difficulty: 1.93 & Terrain: 1.88. Screenshot enclosed. Thanks to Captain Terror for being average enough to issue us all an average challenge. Ill give an average favourite point for my average walk to the desolate railway bridge in a terrible average condition on an average warm day.
#8236Back o Bourke Day 4! Inverell-Armidale, via Kyogle. Were on a road-trip chasing some LGAs we need between Coonamble and Kyogle, via Bourke. The car is packed with TOTTs and snacks and we are prepared for long drives and short walks, hoping to gather the required LGAs, hopefully finding fun caches that contribute to various challenges and goals we are working towards. We had no trouble qualifying - we enjoy higher DT caches, and had a baseline average of about 1.87/1.85, then a year ago decided we needed to improve things, and are currently at D 2.00, T 1.97, aiming to get to at least 2/2 and keep it there. That really just means finding less 1.5/1.5's We parked in Sunnyside Platform Rd, started out on the line, then went further up the roas, found a track and followed that, bashing to the line at around 100m. After finding the cache we just bashed straight to the bitumen, avoiding as much blackberry as possible, and walked back along the road.....TFTC!
#8236Day 4 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Inverell -> Armidale via 2 missing LGAs. (Tenterfield + Kyogle)The shortest of all our days so far, and the most caching. From Inverell, then north to Tenterfield, ducking in and out of Kyogle, then heading back south to Armidale for the night. Not enough time to grab everything, and definitely no 1.5/1.5s! end of copy paste A nice DT and a fun challenge brought us north of Tenterfield for this, didnt read and thought it was just a roadside! Parked at the waypoint, followed some tyre tracks for a bit, then headed up onto the train tracks for a short bit near the end. Quick find and sign, then a few pics, and we bailed straight to the road for an easier walk back.Amazing how something that was once a massive railway bridge has now turned to pretty much a pile of rotten wood, tracks and rocks. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Captain Terror
Nice to be able to log this cache. My average difficulty as at 7/10/24 is 2.05 and average terrain is 1.85. Collecting the cache was not so average with a walk along train lines to the old bridge. Very enjoyable and we'll be back in the area sometime to collect the micro near where we parked.
Stopped by to sign this cache. Enjoyed the walk along the tracks. Will check if we qualify.

We will never qualify for this challenge, but gee its hard to drive by a cache!!It was worth a closer look at the dilapidated bridge anyway!A traveling day today for us as we moved on from Tenterfield to Stanthorpe. Only a few caches along the way and it proved to be our day for DNFs as we had a few. After setting up in Stanthorpe we headed out for a few more caches. Even managed a FTF, a long way from home.A lovely sunny day as the temperature climbe3d into the high teens. We must be in Queensland!Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Captain Terror.**SKI Pair****
This was quite a challenging walk out to GZ from the suggested parking area for me, but I would never have made it from anywhere else, so thanks for that guidance. In actual fact the return trip was easier as I chose a slightly different route. I signed the cache and have checked with Project-GC and thank goodness I qualify. Thanks for adding to my game and Challenge Calendar Captain Terror.
Quite an obstacle course, glad I wore sensible shoes today TFTC. I qualify with 2.22/2.09
On the road from Coonabarabran today with BenM70, after the Mega, going back to Toowoomba. On a mission to grab a first to find around Tamworth. Can tick that off. Even though it wasnt the plan to come here today, I was very excited to as I have been slowly watching my D/T averages plummet after leaving Townsville. I was able to nab this one and sign the log on this cache thats been on my list for a while when a fellow geocacher said that my D/T average isnt too bad considering. Very cool location. I was expecting just something on the side of the road, run into the bush, but I should have known better! It was lovely to meet you Captain Terror (or your alter ego) at the mega. Thank you Captain Terror for placing this cache for me to enjoy!
Well, for someone that has not bothered to do anything geocaching related for a while I seem to be going out of the way to do Mega events. This particular caching trip was the brainchild of the other participant in this little excursion, that being greencordial. I flew into Toowoomba so we could drive down and pick up plenty of LGAs along the way. We got into Canberra late on Day 2 after picking up some challenges at Yass Day 3 and we chased many virtuals and caches in the city centre Day 4 saw a continuation of the UGC challenges, multis, virtuals and the odd tree fish as well as a wedding, a lackey and volunteer event were undertaken. Day 5 sees us start at parliament house, two lookouts, multies, virtuals, an epic night cache and a Pirate celebration. Day 6 saw the April Fools come out and a visit to Canberras oldest existing cache. Now for some more Yass challenges on the way home. After detouring for a FTF in Tamworth we ended up on the New England Highway and ended up here looking pretty average for our second day on the road. My averages are a healthy Difficulty of 2.37 and Terrain: 2.31. So easily qualified. Thanks Captain Terror for placing this Mystery for me to convert into a smilie
Im getting close to the required 1.8/1.8, so I decided to sign it as I was driving past after a caching trip down to Tenterfield with Dunmowin. Cache was in place and in good condition. Thanks for the hide!
Having just arrived home yesterday from walking 3029km across the length of New Zealand from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island, I checked on a couple of challenges that I was close to achieving that I had been watching. This was one of them.I originally signed this challenge cache back in around 2020 I think, during a visit to the Tenterfield area, and had a great time following the old tracks and exploring the rickety old bridge as I love old structures like this. The challenge itself, though intriguing, would need to wait some time to qualify for as years of urban caching in Melbourne had my terrain rating quite heavily in the 1.5 region. It was great to selectively do mainly T2 and upwards caches since that point to try to move the average as I do prefer geocaches with a bit of a hike or adventure attached. Progress has been painfully slow, though. My recent tramp across Aotearoa however included many mountainous crossings and a five day section canoeing, which delivered me many finds with a terrain rating far above the T2 mark, and I hoped that this would finally get me over the line. It appears that it has!![GazaC](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=GazaC) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC4YPG2/8575 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Total finds: 2582Average difficulty: 1.91Average terrain: 1.82Average total: 3.73My thanks to Captain Trend for setting this challenge. I've really enjoyed tracking my progress over the last few years as I inched towards qualification. Some great memories in these higher D/T cache hunts, so I very much appreciate this challenge and am glad to have finally achieved it.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
Yay!!! This cache has been on my radar since I first discovered challenges existed in geocaching. Back then 1000 finds seemed a million miles away. Its been some time since we achieved that goal, and then it became 1000 finds that didnt include adlabs (for my own purposes). Our average was never something I needed to work towards, thanks to my love of kayaking. So with another trip to Girraween planned (last time we came the borders were still closed) I simply had to get myself to this bridge and sign that logsheet. I can tell you that walking along the rail line by myself was a touch scary because I was paranoid of snakes sunning themselves. I was very relieved to reach the end!! I found the container out in the open but could clearly see where it had been stashed and returned it to the hidey hole, securing it with the loose relic beside it. Then I walked back to the others waiting in the car, just as nervous, but happier for finishing this task.
Day 25With the QOGM event now over it was time to continue our journey alone back to Coffs Harbour. Visiting some new towns and LGAs we explored the countryside, Big Things, water tower art and of coarse many caches.A great location to place a cache, we took some photos then the fit Triton made it up the bank to sign the logbook. Our qualifying stats:[The_Tritonz](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=The_Tritonz) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC4YPG2/8575 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.Total finds: 20870Average difficulty: 2.06Average terrain: 1.98Average total: 4.04Thanks Captain Terror for the Challenge placement.

When we attended the Stanthorpe Mega back in April 2015, we signed the log book. At that time we hadn't the required averages but we do now. Thanks Captain Trend.
When we were at the Stanthorpe Mega on 03 April 2015, we found this cache and signed the log in the hope that one day we would have the numbers to qualify to log our find. At last, we qualify and we are claiming our smilie. Thanks Captain Trend.
The log was signed way back on 19/11/17 with nikid1 on a caching weekend to Stanthorpe. The walk out onto the bridge was definitely outside my comfort zone but I was well chuffed once the cache was found & signed & we were back on land again.
I'm definitely over 1000 caches now (currently sitting at 2664) &
Average Difficulty: 2.04

I signed the log many years ago. I am getting close to being able to claim it. BUT I have no idea how many more of what level caches I need.... it just is gradually building.
Found this challenge cache with ilook4geo and signed the log after managing to access the cache OK. Thanks for the challenge and the cache go to Captain Trend.

Gotcha !!! At last. Signed log back in December 2016. Both D and T needed some work .
We pass this wonderful old construction probably 8 - 10 times a year on our way from home in Yeppoon to a property near Glen Innes where our Daughter and family live. We've watched the slow deterioration of the structure over the years.
Bypassing a lot of 1.5/1.5 caches has allowed me to raise my D/T to1.8/1.81.
I remember the CO telling me way back that "Not every cacher can find every cache "
Well this cacher now claims a find on this one. THANKS for the Challenge and the Cache.
A Fav. Pt. awarded.
Wonder how long it will be before one part of the bridge ends up in the gully. What a shame that will be.

Woo Hoo! I finally made the cut. I've was here in 2015 and walked the dodgy bridge but couldn't remember if I signed the log then so when in Stanthorpe in 2022 for some caching fun on my own I signed it for sure. Bridge is looking much more dodgy now so glad its no longer on the structure.
I have been hovering around 1.79 difficulty for ages so when we targeted the slim dusty series today around Kempsey I had my fingers crossed it would be enough to get me over the line which it has :

Back in April 2018 I was with Fangsoki and Pprime on a road trip to a Mega event and we stopped here so that I could sign the log. It was when the cache was on the bridge and was a dodgy walk to get to it.
At that time I had a D1.82/T1.76 and never expected to get to a level where I would qualify for a find.
I was looking at my stats on my profile page tonight and it looks like I must have done a few higher terrain caches since then and I currently have a D1.88/T1.8 and remembered this challenge. So I had better log a find on the cache incase it drops below the qualifying level in the future.

Sims_family and Dromaniax are on a huge journey that takes them from home in Geelong, Victoria through NSW to Canberra then back through NSW to Goondiwindi, Queensland and then across to the Gold Coast. All towing a massive 12x8x7 foot trailer fully initially loaded and very heavy.
A day in Brisbane without the trailer was a welcome relief aloowing to be able to get to some key caches that we were after
Loads of challenge caches were signed so I am initially putting notes on them all to work out what I actually qualify for.
I will log any later as I qualify for them.
Thank you Captain Trend for the Challenge

I joined Willis007 and Chamad for a drive to Guyra today. The others had previously found this but this was my first time across the border in this direction geocaching so was keen to sign. Found easily and signed log.
Armidale to home today after 18 days caching and travelling to Mega and return.
Got you at last!!!! The poor bridge. Have been to this cache with other geocachers and have been watching it to get it for myself for 4years. Today while in full sunlight and not in the dark or raining it was my turn.
I took a look at the approach at the crossroad and thought better of it. Went down the road a little way where the approaches weren't too steep and there did not seem to be any water in the drain. A Nice walk dodging some trees in the middle of the track. Thanks to the driver for stopping for me.
Today caching and travelling with RoddyC.

This one has been on my radar for so long. I've always seemed to qualify due to my love of a challenge, quick park and grabs are a numbers game but the real appeal of geocaching is finding something you never knew existed. Just luke this cache... I've driven past this bridge many a time but now have a new perspective and appreciation of how time has bypassed this old train line. Amazing this track is still being used hehe FP
Caching in the Granite Belt today.
A bit of black Berry on the way to this cache.
The bridge is awesome
Find number 29520 for me.
Thank you Captain Trend for hiding this geocache.

We had the opportunity to spend Easter in Stanthorpe so took advantage of the days off to find some caches while we were here. The suggested access didn’t look inviting today so we decided to add extra terrain rating and head down and up from the highway. We were relieved that it turned out to be not as bad as it looked and we were soon making our way along the tracks towards the bridge. A nice easy find there and then we backtracked, took some photos and were on our way. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

This weekend, an overnighter at Girraween National Park was planned with the aim to tackle Mount Norman. An early start on Saturday had me attend Warwick parkrun and visit Warwick, Leslie Dam, Stanthorpe, and then Girraweeen to walk to Underground Creek. On Sunday, it was a walk/hike through Girraween's south vicinity visiting Mount Norman, Castle Rock, and Turtle Rock, before venturing across the NSW border, and then heading northwards via Ballandean and Stanthorpe, detouring past the *Elementary* series and *Stan's Apple* series.
Today, I joined Beardman75, Davinells, and wayn0, and we spent the morning with a hike in the southern vicinity of Girraween National Park. A tough expedition to Mount Norman's geocache, and after taking a breather with the group and then saying farewell, I continued north via Castle Rock, The Sphinx, and Turtle Rock, thanking the car shuffle for only making my journey a one-way walk. It was then a southern drive towards Tenterfield for a few geocaches, before proceeding back north targeting geocaches with high Favourite Points, in particular the cluster around Fletcher. It was then a detour towards the *Elementary* series, and lastly, I took a few more stops west of Stanthorpe finding a few more of *Stan's Apple* geoart, and completing the [Stanthorpe Art and History](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/99df815e-d7c7-4bde-8575-b2c5ff71d8cc) Adventure Lab, before fatigue and daylight got the better of me, and I proceeded home.
I noted this challenge in the "area", and thought it was a pretty good one to grab during my journeys today. I currently qualify for this average challenge, although I do have one confession to make. Perhaps like the CO, I have many, many geocaches in the drafts / 'backlog' pile, with about 1300 finds as of my find. I'm hoping that if I publicly declare this, it will be ok, as the intention is to not cheat this challenge, and my drafts are an assorted mix of D-Ts, that I suspect will balance out my average (i.e. I haven't prioritised high D-Ts in my drafts). Eventually, I will finish my infinite quest!
From my map, this challenge looked to be on the side of the highway, so I didn't completely appreciate this cache's location. I took the walk as per the recommendation (parking at the suggested waypoint), and it was a little tough facing the uneven ground and head-high weeds in some parts. That bridge doesn't look to be in the best of shapes, and a shame that I didn't complete this adventure as intended by walking out in the middle (there are plenty of those in SA too). It wasn't long before the cache was found, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Captain Trend aka Captain Terror for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Captain Terror you are mean. Parked at designated spot but didn't think much of trying to get onto the old rail track safely among the jungle and obstacle course. So I walked towards the bridge for a bit along the highway until the vegetation seemed a bit clearer, and the slope not too great. Well I managed to reach the permanent way Ok withe relatively clear of weeds ahead. Stumbled along to the bridge with Mrs George over by the highway ready to call the Flying Doctor if I ran into trouble. Found the cache easily, then pondered the possibility of retreating a different way. Mrs George suggested to follow the fence down then up to the highway which did seem a fair idea, as I would have the fence to hang onto and steady me as well as the trekking pole. Anyway I made it back to the highway, then was disgusted to see that the approach from the north would have been much, much easier.
Oh, the averages. Just before I wrote this log D 1.8, T 1.84. TFTC Captain Terror. A real challenge!

Easy find once you get past the hike and the long grass it was fun trying to work out the best way to get there. This line might be open one day so I’m glad to find this cache. I don’t quite qualify yet, As I only have #129 and this one would be #130.
We were driving along and my partner mentioned that there was a historic bridge that we may stop to look out. I quickly searched for a cache and there was a challenge cache so a quick look at my stats and I just qualify with difficulty of 1.8 and terrain of 2.02
We made a stop here and made the find and I am glad it's not in the middle of the bridge anymore as it looks like it could collapse at any time.
In my haste with looking at requirements and focusing on this cache I forgot about the traditional that was near the parking until we had headed off.
Thanks for putting this cache here and luckily I qualified at the time.

We signed the log today on our way south. One day we'll qualify and be able to claim the smiley.
I qualify with
1.93/1.91 - my statistics are public .
and we signed the log on our recent trip in NSW.
We are on our way back home now. We went to QOGM 2022 in Charleville first, then decided to go on a camping trip in NSW for a change and visited also Canberra.

Didn’t qualify with 1.68/1.62 and 1412 finds and dnf but had stopped at this bridge firstly because it looks so unusual. Great idea for a mystery cache, maybe we’ll return one day with better stats.
TFTC. Couldn’t claim a ‘Found it’ as I miss out on all counts - too many easy ones while ‘touristing’ around and only up to 300 finds. Maybe I’ll come back in 30 or 40 years to claim it
Woohoo only taken me 8 years to get 8/8 ;so logging it now incase it disappears , so glad to he able to log at last
I signed this log on 8/11/2022. It has taken nearly two years of dedicated avoidance of lower rated caches (and pesky lockdowns) to finally qualify for a smiley! Logging this before it changes!!!
Really enjoyed visiting the area and finding this cache.

After signing the log on the weekend, I wasn't sure I qualified and hadn't had an opportunity to check the finer details. I received a lovely message last night to confirm I do qualify (thank you!).
With Average Difficulty: 2.13 & Average Terrain: 1.99, this is my 7301st find so I definitely qualify.

This is our third attempt at this cache and happily third time lucky. 1st time we tried there was road works along here and nowhere to park. Our average then was 1.9/1.9. 2nd time a fence had been built and there was no access to the cache. Our average then was 1.9/1.8. This time no issue finding the cache. TFTC Captain Terror. FP.

PirateLinda and I have come down for Beardman75’s Catch-up in Stanthorpe event tonight… Apparently people come here in the middle of winter… for fun… Being our only full day in town, it’s all about Girraween…
A plan was hatched, Beardman75 was picking me up at 0 degrees, then we’d meet Willis007 and chamad at 0 degrees and hike into Castle Rock and The Sphinx at 1 degree… 8.25km for 302m elevation over 2 hours…
Later meeting PirateLinda, abeck58, Catboy67, Bella and a couple of young things at 9 degrees to hike Underground Creek…. 5.84km for 108m elevation over 1.5 hours…
Thanks to the latest challenge cache in Brisbane, this cache was added to the “must do” list for the day… so after hiking Girraween this was our first stop…
A quick find at GZ thanks to the specific clue… dropped a little engine we picked up yesterday (it seemed appropriate) and continued on…
Not sure how long the bridge will remain upright… tftc…

Another find on Peppa and PirateLinda's Brisbane to Stanthorpe Jaunt.
"It gets easier after the first few steps" says Peppa. Yeah right only 200m to go.
I worked on my balancing act and made it to the desired location.

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever qualify for this cache.
We signed the log Ratdog and I just days after it was released. We clambered out to the middle of the bridge and found the cache.
Many moons have past since then, we have moved multiple times.
Tonight while working on a few CROC puzzle caches i just happened to look at my D/T rating. OMG. is that true?
Seems all my croc finds in the last few weeks have boosted me over the line finally. Photo taken to prove it was done
Wow.
1.81/1.8 with 2680 odd cache finds
TFTC. Log signed 26th April 2014
Ratdog still has a way to go but she will be up there she just doesnt do on line logging anymore

I visited and signed this cache back in February of 2017. It's been a long time since we visited but it was a great weekend away with great friends and I vividly remember walking out along the old train track. At the time I didn't qualify, the terrain was good but the difficulty was my issue and I honestly didn't think I'd get it up to the 1.8, but I happened to check my statistics this morning and it was 1.8, I was really surprised. I believe I am now able to log this cache. Tftc.
Well I've met the challenge qualifying me to log the cache, but it is a very long drive from Sydney to come and find and sign it. I'll have to plan a big road trip.

Found as I made my way back home to Adelaide after attending the Mega Event at Townsville over Easter.
I camped at Mount French last night and took the opportunity to grab this cache as I continued my journey south.
As per the attached screenshot from my statistics on my profile page at geocaching.com, I have over 1000 finds and average difficulty and terrain ratings over 1.8 stars.

Day 53 of our southern trip.
Heading towards home (watching the weather at home)on the New England highway.
Still picking up caches on the area as we travel around the area.
Travelling & Caching with RoddyC.
I found this cache with RoddyC back at the Stanthorpe Mega and also in I attempted this for the second time with Nadine 1989. When the cache was on the bridge. Now for hatzofff to put name in the log. Sadly I pulled out. Cache is not mine today. The grass is thick and tall. Some sleepers are rotten and not sure how secure those rails are. Maybe another another day or never. I have the 1.9/1.9 I may have to be satisfied with that.

I've passed here a number of times and stopped here once, but being on my own I was a little worried about snakes and how long the grass looked. I decided today to, well, "Stuff it, I'm going in!" I thought surely no snake would be out in this duck-friendly weather. Buuuuut I met up with a red belly in the one un-grassy patch that was dry. I scared the flamin' thing as it reared up about 20cm off the ground and was good to strike if i'd stepped forward another step instead of nearly falling backward 3. Shhhhhhould have been a little more careful. Thankfully the snake sped off and I got the guts up to keep going. Afterall, I don't know if my 1.8 average thing will last, so i needed to find this while it still was existent.
So here I am finding the cache and able to log it as found. Thanks for the challenge, the walk, and the lovely view of the bridge with swollen waters surging through after truckloads of rain yesterday.

I was looking at some other stats and then discovered that I had actually met the criteria, at long last, to claim this one as a find.
I found the cache container way back on the 25/07/2014. Signed the Log book whilst it was out on the railway bridge which I now believe is off limits and the GZ has been altered. I may or my not be correct with that.
According to the statistics section of GC.com Average Difficulty: 1.86Average Terrain: 1.8 as of 11/09/2021.
I do not find many in a year but I do find at least one every month and not big into the high DT's as there are now or were not around the areas where I lived. I was fortunate in November or there about in 2020 to accompany friends on a big trip where I managed to grab a lot of D3.5/T3.5 or higher.
Thanks for the challenge Captain Terror. TFTC.

It was a year ago when my wife and I came to Stanthorpe for a holiday. I remember it clearly because we were allowed to travel 250 kilometres from home and that clearance came 3 or 4 days before we left. I also remember our accommodation at a winery was 232 kilometres from home and while I can’t remember my anniversary or the kid’s birthdays, 232 as a number will be forever in my heart.
Back then we looked at this cache, however it was across a hard border. I felt like if the wind was blowing in the right direction we could have spat from the Queensland side of the border and made it to the cache, but a lump of phlegm on the cache does not equate to signing the log.
The whole 250 kilometre thing had us spooked as well. I’m no mathematician either because I can’t spell it without autocorrect, let alone know that sine, cos and tan aren’t members of the teletubbies, but we thought that all eyes were on us.
Thankfully science has taught us that even viruses don’t cross state borders without waiting 20 minutes to fill out some badly created internet form. You don’t know how much better I sleep at night knowing the virus is hampered by poor internet speeds.
Mrs Woodyrothwell and I had been holidaying in the Hunter Valley and on our drive home took the opportunity to grab this find. I still needed to check our statistics to make sure we had achieved the required rate, yet somehow forgot we had to state our geocaching find rates on our border declarations. tftc

Over the past few days I’ve been keeping a close eye on the forecast for potential snow on the northern tablelands, with things looking promising I booked myself some accomodation at Glen Innes for two days. My plan for those two days was to chase some snow and take some amazing pictures and grab a bunch of caches along the way.
It turns out I qualify for this cache so I decided to stop by to sign the log. I parked the car at the parking coords and wandered back along the main road towards GZ. I though others had the same idea to as there were several caravans by the bridge, but they ended up being interested in the bridge rather than the cache. Quick find at GZ. Everything at GZ sorted out (amazing what a few photos can communicate!) and a new average geocache plonked in place. We're ready to go here once again!
The bridge was always a bit sketchy, and it hasn't exactly fixed itself over the years. Only makes sense a fence now stops trainspotters, geocachers and sticky beaks like me wandering out there. Fangsoki reached out to help before his trip with 1MinnieMoo and offered to 'sort it out'.
A few photos and a bit of conversation while he was at GZ had this all, as promised 'sorted out'. Slightly moved the geocache and have since updated the listing. Thank you guys!
No need to walk out onto the bridge (obviously), but you'll still get close to the fence and see it up close!

Hole in fence mentioned in the previous log is repaired and another fence also erected. Had a good look around but can't find it
Ah, damn councils looking after public safety and erecting fences around dangerous areas! in cheek>
Let's disable this until I can get a suitable replacement in place.
Let's disable this until I can get a suitable replacement in place.
The Bridge has been fenced off and warning signs are in place indicating it is unlawful to enter the area. The geocache is on the other side of the fence. Someone has torn a hole in the fence.
CO needs to reposition the cache so finders do not need to access it through a hole in the fence.

I was blessed enough to spend the weekend away, caching and camping in Texas, Stanthorpe, Girraween and Toowoomba. The weather and company were perfect. Not so the loud and obnoxious teenagers camping next door! That aside, it was a fabulous weekend.
This challenge cache was on my list! It is over the border, into Gladys territory, but that's OK because I've got my border pass sorted . What an awesome bridge, and I am so sad that I didn't get to wander over it before it was closed down.
Back when I started geocaching, I was targetting all the easy caches. The T5s and D5s were for the serious people. I didn't own a kayak and the D5 puzzles seemed so hard I didn't think I would ever solve them. Well, now I do both! I love a good tree climb, a hike, a yak, a brain teaser... the higher the better. So my average has been slowly increasing, and before long I qualified for this challenge. Wahoo!!!!

After being thwarted in my afternoons plans due to border closures on back roads. I decided to just head south instead. I was sure I'd signed this during the mega in 15 because I remeber coming here (and it being significantly easier) but maybe not as I didn't log a write note.
Anyway I don't qualify yet but project GC has made it much easier to keep track of these challenge caches
I decided to put my sneakers back on for this walk up the tracks as its well overgrown. Got to the start and decided it would be prudent to also take my hiking stick.

Out today for a quick drive to Stanthorpe for a couple of particular caches to finish off my 4th loop and grab a couple to get me closer to my 5th loop.
It was just a quick trip into the area today as I had to be in Ballina by 4pm, plus I could not wait till next year to finish my loop, lol.
Today I grabbed a few puzzle caches, a couple of trads, a couple of earth caches, a letterbox and a couple of challenge caches. It was a nice drive down at this time of the morning with no one on the roads, gave a good chance to stop and do some sight seeing along the way too.
This was my third cache for the morning and a very happy cacher here, I qualified for this one a few months back and today I got my prize, happy dance completed and my name in the log, oh yeah. This was a great and fun challenge and I enjoyed watching it all come together. Thanks the placement and with the log signed and cache replaced as found I was on my way, no time to waste today.

We arrived at GZ on our trip today from Stanthorpe to Armidale . After rereading a couple of logs and checking the waypoints we could soon see that no fences would need crossing. What a great place to stop and look at. Lots of history here and I’m very glad to not be on a train crossing that bridge.
We meet the criteria of this challenge and have attached a screenshot with our current stats.
Thanks for the challenge, the excellent cache location and the opportunity to stop and stretch our legs.

There are some caches that take while to actually organise to find. We had planned a camp at Girraween in October 2016 and was going to spend a few days caching around Stanthorpe and go to grab this one. Well we ran out of time and didn't get to this cache. Many trips away but never to this area. This weekend we had a 4x4 club camp at Queen Mary Falls caravan park and needed to get a tyre fixed at Warwick on Saturday.
We then continued our drive to Stanthorpe and hubby suggested we could go get this one finally. (Did I complain that much...) our friends didn't mind the drive either. After parking the cars we ventured along the track to GZ where after re-reading the hint, found it tucked away in its hide. SL and took the two TBs to move along.
So glad to finally get the smiley for this one. My stats have advanced since we checked in 2016. A fav point from me.

This one has been on our to do list for ages. So it was a little surprising that we only noticed it was here as we drove past! Janet commented on the structure, and I said there must be a cache. Janet looked at the GPSr and said yes a flagged blue one.
So I pulled over to check. Woohoo. Time to turn back and go for a walk.
After parking and checking recent logs it was obvious we needed to update the coords we had. Lots of fencing here indeed!
However we did not need to cross any fence lines and soon the prize was in hand and our name was in the book.
We do qualify.

Visited this cache today, will log a find soon. Exchanged a trackable.
After a fantastic week at Blackall at the QOGM 2019 event, where I logged my 8000th find at the CITO. Now on our way home with wazza9. A quick find, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
We have been working towards this one for some time after we had it, then did the Fishing trail in South Australia, now we were sort of close by we came to find this one in the smoke.
Found 8,009 caches, Average difficulty 1.85 average terrain 1.8.

Who keeps building fences here!?
It's actually fair enough. In 2014 the bridge was a bit dodgy. Recently it is becoming increasingly dangerous. The geocache is not beyond any fence.
Kind thank you to Fangsoki for being the 'eyes on the ground' and letting me know of the newest situation here. Just a slight move to the container and co-ordinates.

Dropped some trackables I have had for waaaayyyy too long and informed cache owner his co-ords were all wrong. Don't embarrass yourself in the future, Captain Terror

I have wanted to get out here and sign this cache ever since I got my 1000th cache, qualifying for it at that time. But I haven’t made it back this way since we did Girraween.
So of course when Fangsoki suggested change our plans and head this way rather than home today, I jumped at the chance. Yes please!
Parking the car and grabbing the nearby traditional, we then hot footed it along the tracks until we came to the great big fence with not so welcoming signs on it. Well I’m glad the CO got to this one in time to move it, and I don’t have to shimmy along there for it anymore!
A bit of a search - coords did bounce a little in this spot - but it was exactly where the CO’s hint suggests, and at that spot coords settled reasonably. Reaching my hand in, I brought it back out with not only a cache, but thorns attached to me, and the CO will, I am sure be pleased to note, blood drawn to prove I’d had an adventure today. Log signed, then Fangsoki placed a few TBs in before we returned the cache. Then it was time to skip back along the train tracks and head for our accommodation.
Oh and I currently qualify with average of D1.99/T2.02.
Thanks for the cache Captain Trend.
