TFTC. Could locate this yesterday but today a quick find on a beautiful day for a walk
Continuing along this Dam track this was next to be found.
Took us little while I'll admit. We eventually found a clue within some old logs that helped us find it.

An excellent find in an obvious spot (once you know what you're looking for! ). From a fellow scouter - thanks for the cache! - Adam & Kahlia
We are a bit pressed for time so didn't spend too long, unfortunately had to abort mission. TFTC anyway )
WOWEE! That was super tricky for us but well worth sticking it out. We had to resort to previous clues but it was still very rewarding. Thank you
Getting away for a mountain biking trip with friends, we had planned on a holiday to Derby during 8-13/02/2022. For the most part, we spent our days MTB-ing Blue Derby (Black Stumps) trails, as well as riding Blue Tier Forest Reserve's trails, such as the upper section of Bay of Fires, Blue Tier and Atlas. There was an opportunity to find a few geocaches in Launceston before driving to Derby, and on our final day with our flight departure in the evening, we travelled back via Scottsdale and Lilydale, and visited a few spots around Launceston such as Cataract Gorge and Trevallyn Dam.
Today, with the majority of the group departing quite early back to Adelaide, it allowed a full day of heading back and checking out Launceston with our evening departure. We checked out Legerwood's awesome timber sculptures, before proceeding around Scottsdale and checking out a Bridestowe Lavender Estate. Other highlights including Tunnel's railway tunnel, and Lilydale waterfalls. After enjoying a Launceston bakery lunch, we then visited Cataract Gorge for a few hours (whilst completing *Launceston Cataract Gorge* Adventure Lab), walking along the gorge, and then proceeded to the lookout at Trevallyn Dam. Our final drive then took us to northern Launceston in Invermay, before checking out the City Park. A terrific day checking out this quiet Tasmanian city.
What a great dam, and I really enjoyed my visit here today! After checking out the dam views from the dam platform, I took a walk along the nearby trails, visiting three of its nearby caches, including this one. This geocache took a few minutes in searching around, and I did suspect this cache type to what I was searching for. Eventually I found the cache closer to the path than where I was searching for it, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks TazScout for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Went for a maintenance walk through and checked the caches on this trail.
All in good order apart from a bit slack posting these logs

Enjoyed the walk this is the first time we have been this side of the reserve.
This one took a little while, after reading previous clues I was alert to what it might be. However it was still a little bit of a surprise. TFTC

Well TasScout, that one had me searching and searching. Fortunately all the passing muggles were runners, so they had no interest in my activity. I read the hint, that helped narrow the search. Then after widening the search, plenty of spots with promise but none delivering, I read past logs and thought I knew what I was looking for. It still took lots of scouting to find the excellent placement and recognise the anticipated item. Well done! If they were all easy we would lose interest. Log was almost full, so I added a strip of paper from my notebook.
Found on my second attempt. I don't know how I missed it last time. Thank you for placing and maintaining the cache for for our enjoyment. A great walk to an from.
Took a little searching, past comments helped focus the search a bit more or we’d have been here for ages!
Couldn't find this one. Both phones appear to have terrible GPS so couldn't even get close (my Android phone had our location as across the water on the other bank). Gorgeous walk though
Found this cache while out for a fun walk around the dam. It took a while of hunting around before finding this extremely well hidden but suprisely out in the open cache thanks for a really fun one
In the last couple of days we've travelled from our native Hobart to Launceston for a bit of a Queen's Birthday long weekend getaway. Today we ended up with a three-pronged mission: we began our day with a visit to Royal Park, followed by a bit of a walk at Trevallyn Dam, and finishing up with a bit of caching around Mowbray.
For a variety of reasons, we decided we'd only walk the track half-way, leaving the second cache on the track ("Dam nice stroll", GC4YVA7) to break up the return trip, and turning around at this cache. We absolutely loved our walk into this location: the path has so many magical spots with all the ferns and moss along the way, and the views across the lake at various spots aren't bad too! As a thank-you for showing us this great spot, we've awarded this cache an FP.
Arriving at the posted coordinates we immediately set about a search, guided by the hint mentioned in the description. Unfortunately the search didn't immediately turn up anything, so we tried searching a little further afield. Still no luck, so we checked the hint and refocused our search. A review of some previous logs gave us a bit of an idea what to look for, but we still didn't have any luck. We were very lucky no muggles passed by to observe our increasingly desperate search attempts!
Finally, a good 30 minutes later, we finally found what we were looking for! Quite embarrassingly, it was exactly the kind of hide we thought it might be (based on the logs), and hidden right where the clues suggested it should be. How we managed to miss it for so long remains a mystery...
Definitely an interesting hide, in a wonderful spot! TFTC!

Tassie Trip Day 189 - This was a day the it was decided to collect the oldest cache in Tassie and along the way we found a few more to add to the list of found caches. It was a wonderful place for a drive and a great day to see some sights.
Making my way to this GZ it was a nice spot however it was not a nice find after searching for some 20 mins it was plain to see that it was not at the locaiton indicated by my GPS or even the hint didn't make the finding any easier for me today.
Thanks TazScout for this nice spot but alas it was a DNF for us today.

On our tour around Tassie we made here a quick stop.
After a while looking we can find the cache.
A beautiful walk and a great area.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

Found while having a few weeks in Tasmania, our 2nd last day in Tasmania. Staying at Launceston. Tricky one took a while to find, got there in the end. TFTC TazScout

This was the 3rd time I had been to this one, after using a PAF they helped a little bit but still had me searching. I was way too far up and can see why I wasn’t going to find anything. Back down and soon made the find. Lucky enough to have an echidna pass on by.
Today I had 6 caches on the list to find, 1 DNF to have another go at and some others that I have been to before but have had no luck. All 6 were found without any issues.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Had a good look on the way along the track and another good look on the way back but came up empty.
This one had me looking and looking and I sort of gave up as I was also going to check out a couple of AGC up the track (neither of them found but will try again with extra eyes) and thought I would have another look on the way back. Well, that was certainly a good idea as as soon as I was back at GZ I saw the cache and wondered how I hadn't noticed it before. Thanks, I think, for the cache...nice little hide though!
Love ones like this! A bit of help from the comments to bring us back from wandering to far into the bush, Cache was soon found! Thanks!
Hi there TazScout.
This is the 1st of 2 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here at around 12:32:00 PM, but we just couldn't locate your cache, so here's a DNF from us.
Regards
Ian and Penny

A dam nice walk
Best in the park I reckon !! [^]
And in this dam nice spot,
I found this cache dam fast [:o]
One second I was looking at the GPS screen,
the next I was looking at the ground,
and there was the cache [:o]
I think that cache camo must be imprinted in me brain by now
Instantly recognisable !!
Yet it blends in so well here [^]
So I guess I got lucky

Had a good look. When the snake appeared and the kids freaked we decided to move on
Quick find after spotting the odd one out. Lovely walk around the lake. Tftc TazScout...cheers ST.
On a cool, wet and windy day we decided to go for a walk and pick up a few caches in the Trevally Dam region. This was the second along the trail and proved very elusive. In fact we were just about to give up on this one when Mr DaFiChNi spied the blighter. Another clever hide. Thanks TazScout for organising a very sneaky hide.
Our 1st one like this!! Very cool!! GPS was a bit off but geo Jnr located it much to his delight!!!
Well this nearly had us beat and then you would not believe it there it was right in front of us. Please note log is full.
Didn't find today. Will try again another day. Rain and leeches got in the way.
Haha! Very sneaky. My non caching hubby actually found this one. He said the same thing as others- something looked a bit different! Anyway - thanks for this cache and getting us out on a beautiful day.
As I did not want to go the same way back I came, I did a slight detour and got to see a dam nice spot.
Thanks for the hide!
Thanks for the hide!
Find 200! Having one of these myself helped in its recognition. Nice job, TFTC & the hint!
If I remember right this was a quick find by myself with some great views on the way to GZ and another great cache from TazScout.
After attending the Trevallyn event we spent the day doing a loop of caches starting with The Knob and ending with Anyone for Equestrian six hours later, along the way we lost cachers and found leaches.
We started out with ten of us but finished with only 5 at each cache we were thinking we would meet up again but it never happened.
Thanks for the cache.

thoroughly enjoyed the walk along here. My strapped leg kept reminding me my physio told me to walk on flat even ground only. Ooops! Still I got through carefully and unscathed. Really enjoyed this part of the walk. A quick 'walk by' find by SSR meant we were not here to long. TFTC
Decided to take a wander on this track this afternoon to further explore our beautiful new home of Launceston! Not the first cache we tried to find today but our first successful find. Thanks for the cache and nice hide
After finding the other two caches in the area earlier this week, I couldn't resist dropping back out here to try my luck with this one. A little pushed for time before the gates were locked, I practical ran down into the GZ, and once there the Phones GPS has me wanting around a little. After about five minutes of searching I finally spotted something that looked a little different, and was relieved to have the nicely camouflaged cache in my hands. Quickly signed the log and sprinted back to the carpark before the security locked me in.
Thanks for the cool cache.

First thing I uncovered here was a scorpion which made me very wary of where I was looking. This one probably took the longest and it wasn't until I checked the terrain rating that I realised I was making it much more difficult than it should have been. Once I came back to a kinder search area I couldn't believe how I had missed this. The co-ordinates were good and it was less than a metre from my experience with the scorpion. Met the one and only other muggle on the track here, he probably wondered what the hell I was up to but as I didn't hear him coming I didn't have time to fake a rest. Thanks.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
Still struggling with the flu but Mr Felix decided that he would attempt a reasonable walk today. Whilst Mrs Felix was to grab only 2 caches 1 50metres from the car and the other 250 metres from the car.
Boy did we both struggle with our individual objectives this flu is horrid.
Found your cache here though. Eventually.
Looking forward to meeting local cachers at the Event on 17th October.
