This road is becoming increasingly dangerous, particularly the gravel portion. For the safety of everyone, including the locals I am closing down all of these caches in this series that are on this road. We also have a hoon issue in the area at the moment which is adding to the issue of safety. Thank you to everyone who has visited these caches.

Out and about with trek4ward and C Yeo Later today to claim the last few souvenirs, for August. We made it to this letterbox cache so we can claim the souvenir! We had no worries with the code, and the kids were happy to find some Lego in the box! We did a swap, and decided to pop in to Speedmistress' place, seeing we had come that far. It was nice to meet her and others, and Coco the dog, and hang out for a bit, as well as chat about geocaching stuff. Love all the rocks around your place! We did get to see some secret geocaching stuff, and are looking forward to finding these new caches where-ever she might put them! Thanks for the limes too! Thanks for a great run!

This find will be my 6th and 7th souvenir for this years August challenge. Just got it completed in time. Lovely drive on a very quiet road. (My favourite type of road) Missed one of the number clues, not sure if its because of our 1 DNF in the series, or we just missed it in the cache, and wasn't sure of the placement for another number, but took less than 10 minutes with a little guessing.
I think this is the biggest container we've seen so far.
Signed the log book, and left a note. Had a chat with CO, and got a hint as to where there are some good caches to go searching for sometime soon.
TFTC Speedmistress. A very enjoyable afternoon.

TFTC Speedmistress. This is my single caching name. Proper log under team name, TeamBellingham.

This post box has certainly seen better days and that is why it is held together with duct tape. The lock is functionally perfectly as the owner intends.

Not needed. The cache is as the owner intends

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there Speedmistress. We found your cache "Poste Haste" at 11:39:00 AM today.
This was our 14th cache find in a caching run of 24 Finds & 0 DNFs today. (So this now makes our find count 9499.)
[Blue]
Today's cache run was to add to our current streak of "Most Consecutive Days" cached. With this cache the total now stands at 225 Days.

Today was a trip down memory lane for Ian, he spent quite some time in (and around) Cabarlah before he left the Army.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container has seen better days, and is only held together with duct tape. The combination lock isn't securing anything. The log books are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

[Red]Container has seen better days, and is only held together with duct tape. It would certainly benefit from some owner TLC. The combination lock isn't securing anything. [/Red]

Well, this certainly wasn't completed 'Poste Haste'. After missing a number somewhere along the line and hence turning this cache into a puzzle-hybrid-letterbox, it took a few minutes to play with the combinations and unlock the letterbox. But click and success!!! Big GrinCool

Kids were excited to check out the swaps and we took the trackable to move along.

Thanks for the cache type as well, we have now earned another souvenir for August [^]

Thanks for the series speedmistress, it was a lovely drive!!

Today we did a full day of caching in Toowoomba region. From the town region & out to Cooby Dam.
All the caches we found were in good condition & some wonderfull & scenic locations.
After picking up all codes in the Cliche Series we arrived at the Mailbox cache.
Mr. Speedmistress arrived as we were fixing the lid that we had broken. It was good to meet other caches.
Thanks for placing this cache Speedmistress

We got here, used the numbers we had gathered... and nothing happened. What?? We tried, over and over again, read a previous log that said it was a bit stiff, but still no success. Finally decided one of our numbers was dodgy, so by a process of elimination we found the correct combination and gained access to the log. I love a letterbox cache, and this didn't disappoint. Thanks for the series and showing us your part of the world.

On our way up to Toowoomba to do Animal Alphabet Challenge when OrionJ mentioned that he wanted to grab a few letterbox hybrids. Not a problem for us even though we did both between Brisbane and the range. To our surprise OrionJ mentioned this new one just North of Toowoomba that we hadn't seen and a small power trail that went with it. Seemed perfect for today's adventures.
---
We reached the final cache and had all the needed information in hand. It had taken us well under an hour to do all caches in the trail, which wasn't bad considering our goal was under 1 hour. The letterbox was easy to find and Dr THR eagerly punched in the numbers. The lock was a little hard to open but with some gentle coercion it eventually gave up its treasure. As this is our last letterbox in Australia, for now, we left a little note. TFTC and series Speedmistress. A favourite point for the series.

Last stop on the Cliche Run to Poste Haste, and I must say this is a really great little series. All quite quick and easy finds, and a nice relatively muggle free area today.

All up from first find to this stop I think we come in just under 1 hour, which is about what we had allocated as we still have the 2 hour-ish walk around Redwood Park to go today.

Anyway we arrived at the mailbox with all the clues in hand and just had to see what the device was that required the clues, and something similar to what I had seen before. It was a little stiff, but opened without to much problems.

We did what was needed to be done with logs and stamps and get everything back together and the letterbox relocked before heading out towards our next little walk.

TFTC and a very nice little series.

Team Biffo thoroughly enjoyed this series. All the different containers, hiding places and helpful titles. We didn't have the best weather but we persevered and came up with the numbers to open the letterbox. Thanks Speedmistress for all the work you put into this series - it is appreciated.

On a geocaching road trip with joojoo57. Thanks for all the wonderful caches.

08-Jun-14
Thanks for a most enjoyable series. The grandchildren normally don't like caching but this one had them out scrabbling around the bush and finding the caches. Thanks Speedmistress.

08-Jun-14
Finally we had made it. We gave opening honours to the middle geokid who had enthusiastically leapt out to help find every cache along the road. She triumphantly cracked the code and we signed the logbook and left a message. Cache was found safe and dry. TFTC, Speedmistress.

Out and about today to find quite a few caches today. Big Grin
This little series by Speedmistress was on my hitlist. Well there is a letterbox at the end. Smile
Now for the letterbox. But I only have 4 out of 5 numbers. How hard can it be. Surprised
NO GO. Twisted

Off to the CO's place for a chat and a drink. Afterwards we made our way back and it seems the lock was a little stiff and needed a 'nudge'. Big Grin All good now. Thanks again for the chat, the drink, and the caches. Cool

You may call me picky, but not every geocache makes its way onto my GPSr. One criterion that will land it on my radar is what I deem a 'rare icon', like a Letterbox Hybrid. I also don't load geocaches with what I consider 'below average Difficulty and Terrain'. As such, today with Fangsoki headed towards Crows Nest, I spotted this geocache on my GPSr screen and let Fang know. We were both keen and so without reading what we needed to do we set course for this spot.

After a wrong turn initially, we wound up good and close to the hide. The GPSr and moreso, eyes lead us to the container. It sure is unique, I'd say more unique than cliche. It didn't take us long to realise that we needed to sort out a padlock to gain access. Hmm.. a quick read of the description had us find out we really needed to find a bunch of geocaches that neither of us had loaded. I'm not sure how this listing can have a Difficulty rating of 1 with prerequisites like that.

Well.. what to do? I'm not one to give up so easy and had a closer look at the set-up. A little bit of investigation, a little bit of trial and error and I sorted out what we needed to do and in a time that surprised even me, I had the two logbooks in hand and had grabbed the trackables inside. Turns out we didn't really have to find the clues to the code. We signed the books and replaced as found, all still in good condition. We had a hike to do, so no visit for us - maybe next time or at an event somewhere between your place and ours. Nice to have the extra, rare icon for the day and a hide that made us stop and think for a few more moments. TFTC Speedmistress Smile

Captain Terror made mention of this one as we sped along toward Crows Nest. It would be rude not to stop for a letterbox cache.

We ambled the mighty car toward GZ and pulled up. Captain Terror soon found what was required. A quick read of the cache description soon showed us we may have been thwarted.

I was in the car looking at the description when Captain Terror came bounding along with the log book and some trackables in his hand. OK - so we are a regular safe cracker now, Mr Captain Terror? Razz We signed the log book and I dropped in a trackable to move it along. The cache was in good condition.

A nicely set up letterbox cache - and in a nice area too. TFTC Speedmistress Smile

Mistborn and I approached this cache with much wonder and anticipation... Our fist letterbox!! I thinking is cool that there is a story behind the container, thanks for sharing it with us speedmistress. The clues we had collected were correct and we got in to the letterbox to collect our first stamp and sign the log. Sorry I didn't have a stamp to leave, but I wrote a note. Great cache! TFTC!

Well...guessing that would be it then...no GPS needed here. Mr E had the lock undone before I even got out of the car. Thanks for the series. Have given this one a fav point. Left Lapu-Lapu Geocoin.

Time to find some more of this trail and make entries in log books. Some of the logs in this series I signed YOF as youngoldfella takes up too much space on tiny logs. Next one to log is the letterbox and the final in this series. I have been fortunate to find many of this CO's caches out in the Dalby area and beyond and it is a real pleasure to attempt her hides. She has visited me in my stamping grounds and found my hides also and now as she lives so close I will be tempted to place more between here and Nanango to tempt her out to find close by hides.

What a drive up that little hill as my front wheels spun all the way up as I started from stop. Saw the Private Road sign and found a safe spot to park and I could see the letter box so left the Gizmo in the car.

Must be my old age as I could not get the combination to work then I realised that the numbers ( All the numbers had to be reset) would work. Left a message in the message book then signed the log. Closed the lock and reset the numbers. Is the lid of the letter box slightly damaged or is it my imagination.

My next adventure is to Drive to Dalby then Roma, Injune, Morven, Surat, St George Thallon Goondiwindi, Inverell, Stanthorpe then home. Home for a few days then fly to Darwin then onto the OZMega at Murray Bridge at Easter 204. Jealous yet. Addicted, me, I think so.

TFTC and the series Speedmistress.

We still have one more Cache to find to complete this new series but couldn't wait til then to claim this one. Speedmistress, We didn't have time for a coffee today we were running late to pick our son up and we had some Caches to find.

Like youngoldfella we too seemed to take longer to work the padlock out than what we should have but we got there in the end. We have enjoyed seeing another part of the local area, we would never have driven this road if it wasn't for these Caches and a letter box hybrid at the end is the sweetener.

We took the Trackable that was present and will move it on soon.

Cheers

We were staying in Crows nest for the weekend for a family birthday and after grabbing a cache the night before decided a 5.30am start to grab some caches along a newly released trail was in order while every one else slept in. This was a great trail to complete this morning while no one was out and about. Enjoyed the differing styles of hides along the way. Had to attempt this one with one clue missing after having failed to find one of the previous caches (however I managed to find it on the way back), but still managed to crack the code with a short bit of trial and error. Signed the log and swapped over a TB to celebrate. Thanks for great trail.

We have all the clues and now I am at the letterbox.
Soon the letterbox was opened and we added our names to the logbook.
Rang Speedmistress to let her know we had success and were third in line.
Put a stamp on my page to add to the others.

A favourite for the series. A nice setup and lovely to meet you today

With the clues firmly in hand, I was very pleased to open my very first Letterbox Hybrid and to sign the log. From there, I continued onwards to Speedmistress' home to alert her husband to a small accident that Speedmistress had had with her bike. I hope that you're feeling better soon, Speedmistress. Thanks for a great series.
