Good name. Obviously the fixture is doing its job. Found with Mummypenny this afternoon. Thanks Team_Gaters.

Day #14 Lake Tekapo to Christchurch - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning. Flights still available Accommodation found Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip. The final full day in NZ. After leaving the beautiful lake I wound my way back to Christchurch, stopping many times along the way.A very clever hide here. I wasnt sure what I would find at first but was pleased with the state of the access.A big thanks goes to Team_Gaters for taking the time to add Holy Smoke (Canterbury) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
A tricky one if you dont know the area but with the help of attributes we finally clicked! Great hide TFTC
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay.Im staying at the old Offices Mess building at the old Airforce Base and it is a wonderful old building.Day 3 begins so lets go find a few more caches.I met Tiz13 at the airport as they happened to be on the same flight over and we organised a day out after I missed their message yesterday so the plan was to meet up at the event near the Botanical Gardens. So I left a bit early to find the Lab bonus and as I parked the Geoloancar close by I made my way here.As I approached GZ I realised where I would be heading.I have done a couple of these and I loved the thought that was put into the design of this one.A fav goes out to you for this one. Thanks Team_Gaters TFTC.
great spot! we thought it was something else but we looked further into it and found....
Out and about with 9&11yo nibblings and found this beauty! Kids were most impressed, as were we. +Fav on a mild late winter day.
Freaking awesome cache!! Didn't take too long to find but sat looking at it for a bit trying to figure out if it was actually the cache or something I shouldnt be touching lol
This had us stumped for about 3-5mins and then i recalled a similar situation back home MANY MANY years ago and i had a hunt around and found exactly what i was looking for . Dad (grahamecookie) was perplexed at my destination but with a memory in hand i was the finder of this very neat cache! Cache container could use a replacement! But otherwise everything is safe and intact TFTC!
Such a good place, took a while to find it as kept thinking it was on the road
*Catching up on some missed logs*Etherlord is visiting from Palmerston North so we are out and about hunting down some caches he has on his radar, and stopping for a few extras along the way. Etherlord has been here earlier in the day with no luck, so had brought me along to help search. When getting out the car I straight away spotted something as asked "Did you try that?". "DOH!" was his reply. Off we trotted, and bent, and the cache was a quick find after. Surprised myself by going in as I don't do small spaces. The things we do for another smiley huh. FP awarded.
I won tickets to see [Lve](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_(band)) play in Christchurch last time they were in NZ (20+ years ago) but I couldn't make it to the concert (I still have the tickets!)They've come back down under and I'm not letting the opportunity pass me by again! With my work leave and (more importantly) my home leave approved, I flew down last night for the concert tomorrow night. Today I cached my way around Wigram, joining forces with ThatDarnBear for the afternoon. I managed to find caches for the last three missing dates on my Hidden Date calendar, which finally qualifies me for [The 365/366 Challenge - Manawatu](https://coord.info/GC7R80A).I first attempted this one before lunch, but couldnt find hide nor hair of it.(I did find hare of it though)I returned after borrowing ThatDarnBear's eyes, which are apparently better than mine - even with her needing glasses, and she noticed something that I hadn't...That lead to a different approach to the search, with a satisfyingly different result.I think something is awry with the cache though as I'm sure had a FP in my pocket with I visited first time, but not when I left the second time. Hopefully the CO can find it next time they visit GZ?Thanks for the adventure. This is my first find of this cache type, and of this cache type!
5th Find for today! Thanks Team_Gaters For this cache! Found on the 27/02/24@06:27:09 p.m..Cool Cache![^]###Getting There/Beforehand###From looking at the map we saw straight away where we thought it was. When we arrived near gz it turned out we were right. So we went off to find the cache.---###Cache###In the tunnel GPS accuracy was off so looked around for something tha looked like a geocache. When we found it it was really cool Gave a Fav point TFTC
I'm in Christchurch for a few days for work so of course I have to get some geocaching in. I came down a day early so I could get a rental car for the day to target some specific caches in the surrounding area.Fantastic wee cache, glad I made the detour. All good here and TFTC+FPFind #6421 at 25 February 2024 2:19 pm
Cache 1627 in Christchurch for a mini geocaching holiday, targeting some specific caches and amongst those caches was this one. Targeted for its high fave points as Im working on a challenge cache down home that needs cache in the South Island with over 100 fave points. When I pulled up at GZ I quickly realised where I needed to go to find this cache and I walked from one end to the other without noticing this very obvious cache lol very sneaky I can see why its a high fave point earner here have another T4TC
Forgot to log that I found this with my friends a few minutes after the DNF. sorry! TFTC
On a little mini break and we've chosen a few caches which we needed to investigate, and with the favourites on this we had to stop. The location had us us puzzled at first and then the lateral thoughts happened. Clever cache and placement, and looking back at the logs before writing this, we are very grateful to the previos finders for putting it all back together! A FP from us. Tftc!
...thanks to Geckoh for persevering and finding all the bits and putting the cache back together and in place. Appreciated. Thanks. Fingers crossed it was just accidentally knocked off by a passing cyclist and the hide isnt compromised....will keep an eye on it.
**20,444** We had an inkling what was involved for this one, so we geared up and headed off. Eventually we located what we believed to be part of the cache and disappointed we decided to continue on to see if the muggles had dumped the cache after finding it. As we moved along, we found a piece here and a piece there, which we collected up. Finally we located the log book and after signing it we reassembled the cache and returned it all to its rightful place. Not sure if the muggles will return but for now its back in play! Well worth a favourite point. TFTC
After driving down to Christchurch from Picton today, I was keen to get some caching done in the beautiful warm afternoon. This was the highest rated cache near my parents in laws house. Not knowing the area at all, I was pleased to have thought sufficiently laterally to find the well hidden cache. Great job! TFTC
Found with Gummi_Venus. Finally stopped by to see what all the FPs are about. This was a lot of fun! At first I wasnt entirely sure what we were walking towards then inspiration struck and we were off. Well done. We had a great time.
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat, when thinking about how to approach it something clicked given the nearby features. This was super fun, TFTC!
TFTC. Very cool. Had to think outside the box for this one. Oh let's look over here.
Wow! That was very cool. 14th for today. A bit hard for this 6footer. Luck i had my bike helmet on! Tftc
Daughters tried to rush to find and pushed each other over inside it ?? if it looks like it could be that then yes, yes it is lol. Cool find
So cool

Another month, another challenge. I don't know if I'll manage the full 28 day streak but I'm keen to see how many days I can get out and find caches this month. This is Streak Day 10. After walking away empty handed last week, the CO gave me a nudge that helped me find the cache today. Glad to be able to turn a frown into a smile for this clever, cunning cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Found late this evening after work, with some quite fortunate timing on my part! On approach to GZ and suddenly saw flickering lights coming towards me - next thing two Lime scooter riders hoon out from GZ and off into the night! If I'd been a few minutes early would have been caught like a deer in headlights while signing the cache!!

Not so peaceful with holiday travellers today but managed an easy sign none the less.
I was going for this a while back but then decided that it might be best on a sunny day. Felt inclined to get it today so that's another dot day dealt to. Thanks Team_Gaters
I did a dnf on this one almost seven years ago. It's one of those caches that really has a novice doing a head scratch. Today it was a straight forward find. Thanks.
Great cache, really enjoyed finding this one! Wasn't sure about it at first but when I realised that was the only thing it could be and re-read the cache title I went back and retrieved the log book. Thanks for a great cache!
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [xx(].
This time it was a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
All good things must come to an end .
Today is the last caching day in Christchurch [B)]...
This geo-treasure contributed to the finds of today. Cool! [^]
This was by far the best cache on this trip! - Fav; for sure! [^]
A big thanks to the owners Team_Gaters [:X] for hiding and maintaining this fun-cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

Thanks for the heads up. Checked on the way home. You are quite right - moved it back into position now.
We found the cache but wonder if it was moved from its hiding spot? Might need to be checked on
Very cool cache! Had fun climbing around and very well named cache! Definitely deserves one of my Favourite points!
Flew down from palmy for Christmas and swapped houses with a friend. Don’t have many caches left to find at home base so We’ll try to clean up some of the caches here and hopefully pass 400 finds!
I wrote in the log and concealed the cache carefully back as found, TFTCSL, Thanks Team_Gaters for this Traditional cache!

Brilliant, deserves a fav point! Out with my buddy, after some time away, great fun exploring wigram! tftc,
Best hunt we have ever had! Kids loved it, took a while as very hard to see in the dark!
Great cache! I had figured out the trick before I arrived so it was a quick (and slightly spooky) walk to gz for the find! TFTC!
Really enjoyed this one, we narrowed it down to the rough location fairly quickly but took a few attempts to find the container. TFTC
Holy Moley... lol I get it now!!! Thinking coords must be well out, I widened search... when the penny dropped.
Sent a video to a mate, who kids are keen to get into caching.
Worthy of another fav, thanks.
Now for a long drive to Invers.
