I'm sorry to be archiving this one as it is a usually lovely avenue of mango trees but not after the recent flooding. Too much mud and debris.

Well may i say that this is a great little spot to visit in the late afternoon sun.. if only I had visited when there was fruit on the trees that would be amazing! Oh well there's always next season. I'll make a mental note to return.
Upon arrival I followed the compass but found myself blocked and went around the end and followed the compass again as i walked across the grass diving amongst the trees at 20m. At first i thought i was looking for a small container size for some reason and wasnt having any luck. Once i checked the size in the listing i knew to look in different places.
Thats another smiley for me cheers Perusal (sorry... got the right CO name now Wink)

Wonderful spot for a cache, no one else around when I visited so enjoyed the peace under the shade of the mango trees. Easy find with the hint, cool little cache too!

Out and about by myself, thought I'd do this one as it looked super cute in the photos and my find used to live around here. Took me a while because i started counting from the wrong side and had no idea, until i opened my compass and realised i needed to count from the other side. Then i easily found it, signed it and returned it. Was a beautiful spot and will definitely be coming back around here at christmas! thank you for sharing this beautiful spot! My first favourite point goes to you!

Another interesting little spot. I saw a few dog walking muggles along the paved path on the way to GZ, but there were none anywhere near my destination. [^]

The co-ordinates must be pretty good because I only had to look in two trees to find what I wanted. The new log is still nice and dry in this one. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache and for showing me more goodness in my local area Smile The o-ring on the lid is perishing. This could be letting water inside. The log was drenched and unsignable so replaced it.
Cheers

Easy find

I was on the GC and had some free time to get a few caches. I had picked out a list of possible caches and skipping ones which appeared to be missing.

This was No 18 of 27 finds for the day.

What an interesting location? Someone must have lovingly planted all these trees many years ago.

It was sobering to walk down the avenue. It didn't take long to discover the cache.

The log was VERY wet. I managed to sign the log and I have left the log out of the bag to see if it will dry out as I think the baggie was keeping the moisture inside. Hope it dries out.

TFTC.

All is Ok after flooding, just mud and fermenting mangoes to navigate through..

Today I dropped a work friend near here on the way home. Smile
So a short detour to find this cache was in order. Smile
I did not count the trees, I just followed the GPSr straight to the cache. Big Grin
Thanks for the cache.

I had read about this cache last week and we decided to go for a walk with our Geodog Havana today and this seemed perfect on a hot day as this. From the likes I knew it was a nice spot and I had seen some of the photos and the suggestion that there may be a Mango or two for a picking, so a small bag was taken along.
Not to be disappointed we had a lovely walk and found a great cache and came home with enough green Mangoes for a Mango Curry. Thank you for a great Cache, such a lovely aspect and a real treat in more ways than one.

We wandered over across the park looking for a single Mango tree... Mmm slightly wrong.. Lol

One of the trees was full of fruit and we were already planning our harvest attempt. Hehe.

Arriving at GZ we ducked in and started our search. It wasn't until we looked up that we noticed how impressive this spot was. Wow.

No luck on the cache however so Sal wandered down to start working on the clue. Anth continued the search and it wasn't long and he found the tricky hide. Called out to Sal and we signed the log.

A FP from us for this one. Thanks for placing the 793rd cache that we have found so far Perusal! Smile

A delightful afternoon caching in the Gold Coast hinterland along Mudgeeraba Creek. I had not seen many of these places before and enjoyed both the area and the caches themselves. Thank you for introducing me to a very pleasant part of the Gold Coast.

We had hoped to walk from Silky Oak to here but after walking down to the railway bridge cache and back we had done 6+kms, so drove here instead.
Yet another lovely hidden park on the Gold Coast.
Thanks again Perusal.

Today, the geocaching duo of ¼ of TH4, as well as geo grandpa, went on a hunt through the Mudgeeraba Creek area. It was a pleasant winter morning and a total of four geocaches were found. The locations and containers were all stunning! Thank you to all those who placed those caches!

This one was a fun find in a beautiful park. Arrived at the park and took a pleasant stroll to the trees. Entered where the coordinates told us to and looked around the closest tree. No luck. Walked to the beginning of the avenue, and then made our way back (counting). Arrived at the 16th tree, which was also the tree we were originally searching. With some persistence, we located the clever hide. The trees were very cool (as was the park). Thank you for bringing us to this hidden part of the Gold Coast that we never knew existed!

I decided to go in search of some trees and cobbles in Mudgeeraba on a Saturday arvo.

After finding "Black bean" it was a case of "two feet and a heart beat" to get to this one. I started by following the creek then noticed a path nearby which was a much easier option.

The tree cover made it a bit tricky to find so I retreated to the clearing and tried again. Soon the cache was in hand.

Thanks for the cache perusal.

Find number 1935.... so here is something you didn't know (or maybe did know) about 1935...... (speaking of mangos)..... The 'Alice' mango is a named mango cultivar that originated in south Florida.

The original tree was reportedly a seedling of the 'Saigon' mango planted in 1935 on the property of Fred Herman in South Miami, Florida, and was named after his wife Alice Herman. Some have speculated that 'Alice' may have been a hybrid between 'Saigon' and an Indian race mango.

We'd spent the morning at both the Dawn and Citizens ANZAC Services, and since we'd been up since the wee hours of the morning, decided to tackle the Mudgee Creek caches instead of heading home for a nap or venturing further afield.

We'd been in this general area before but hadn't ventured over to the tree line. Its a remarkable spot. We're pretty sure the old buildings in view opposite and further east are those from the original Hardy's property.

Thanks for bringing us closer to the creek, we found the cache and we think we might have found something else were were looking for. Thanks for the cache.

Kadin and I both had the day off and I convinced him to come geocaching for a couple of hours today.

Lots of mozzies near this one. We initially overshot the correct tree but soon corrected our mistake. Thanks perusal.

Wow, what an amazing find Perusal. I wonder how many locals buy their mangoes from the supermarket.
I parked up on a nearby road and strolled through the park. I actually thought the avenue of trees was just the line of mangoes.
As I crossed the park I kept an eye on the gps and the other on a muggle coming up the foot path. As I went between two trees I was wide eyed for snakes after my last find so I didn't notice The Avenue Of Trees until I stopped and looked east down through the centre with the sun light bright at the end. WOW, was my first thought. GZ was a problem for me so I walked back a bit to count the trees and take a few photos. The cache was found soon after and another name was added. I guess the old shed across the creek was once part of the homestead as well. There were quite a few large water birds soaking up the morning sun while searching for food below GZ. They all took off as I tried to get a photo of them.

I'll definitely be coming back when the season is right for some fresh fruit and will no doubt see half the people on the log sheet here with the same idea. The smell will be amazing I reckon.
Thanks again Perusal, I've enjoyed every location you've found thus far this morning. FP.

What a great avenue of trees. The avenue must be fun to walk through when the trees are in fruit - and the smell!! Great location.

02-Mar-14
Off to GZ and there was this avenue at GZ. Would be a nice spot to visit when the mangoes are ripe on the trees. TFTC

Richmond Lad, JooJoo57 and I spent time speculating who planted the avenue of mangoes and why. We found the cache pretty quickly and enjoyed the break in the total shade for a while before heading back to our cache mobiles.

Having found another from the series nearby I thought it apt that I should grab this one while I was in the area. What an interesting location for so many reasons. The trees. The farm cattle. The creek. Thanks for bringing me here. This one deserves a favourite point from me. TFTC. SL.

A top day out and about caching with Couchmen. Around 30 caches found, mainly new stuff that had came out in the last week. Two puzzle caches and a multi in the bunch as well. A few short walks undertaken, and a few really good hides in the bunch as well. Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining there caches.

Wow, what an interesting spot to find. Enjoyed the location here. TFTC.

I was out with Blacklegend today and even though we were starting later we were both looking forward to a big day.

BL had seen these ones come up when he checked the map so we headed here to grab them first.

BL was having trouble with his GPS so had headed off in another direction and mine settled quickly so I came upon the prize first again.

I wish we could have been here when the mangoes were in season, I love MANGOES!!

Thanks Perusal TFTC SL

Well, well, well. Bristracker was disappointed not to be able to head out to these but she alerted me. I wasn't home so hadn't got the notification. I was parked at a workshop with the caravan attached and so not possible for me to go either. Now.........it's a FTF opportunity.....sooooo, - if I detach the caravan and explain to the guys why I had to go, I could come back. I had no idea where to find the caches so had to wait until I got to Mudgeeraba and ask the iPhone app to hunt for nearby caches and then find some that didn't have a smilie face. This was the first one I went for as it was nearest to where I asked the app when I was at Tallai.

Now, this was a real pleasure to come to. What a MAGNIFICENT AVENUE of trees Perusal. You do find the most interesting locations. This avenue alone deserves a favourite point and now it has a cache it definitely deserves one. I must have miscounted the trees but found the cache at the second one I checked and also enjoyed the cache guardian. I was thrilled to be Big Grin FTF Big Grin at 10:43am.

Congratulations to Aussie Liahona on your FTF.
I can't imagine how you explained that you were leaving your caravan somewhere and just talking off on your important business that simply had to be attended to.
I found this avenue on dusk and it was sort of spooky in there. The next day I came back at midday and the sunlight filtering through the trees made it quite magical.
