Great walk today to the Tarawera Falls and outlet. We’ve only been here before in summer when there was much less water than today. Thanks for bringing us here again. Cache all fine, well hidden, but helpful hint. TFTC
We did not pause to play pooh sticks. We (Kauriforest and I) were very business-like in our search-find-log GC as there is a waterfall to discover, don't you know! TFCT
While in Rotorua for several days on a Hutt Valley Tramping Club trip riding and walking some of the local trails we spent time with livingk and gpetone looking for geocaches and found this one. TFTC
Found with Pat&John and gpetone during a walk to the Falls and beyond. A lovely river. Cache in good order. TFTC
Well it probably took a lot longer to find than it should of
But in such a beautiful location, who is going to complain!
So happy to at last spot the cache, and be signing the log.
Thanks for the hide Dominic-Aidan, this walk is amazing

I'd had an itch to head this way for a while now so I contacted my mid week caching partner Mc Jandals and proposed a nice little clean up of the area. We had quite the adventure today caching from dawn till dusk finding some really neat caches in some beautiful areas. I managed to walk away with 23 caches and our highlights were the Tarawera Falls and our cheeky Virtual FTF.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords, a straight forward hint and placement. I initially thought this was gonna be harder but I'm very pleased it wasn't. Cheers Dominic-Aidan, TFTC

On a trip with Philip.Perry trying to get this area cleared . II am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing us back here. Cheers
I needed to get out and do a bit of outdoor exploring today. Wow is right! Such a beautiful area and sad that it's been nearly 20 years since my last visit here. The water was stunning today and a great place for a cache.
Really neat walk along here ...I cant believe I have not made the effort earlier to visit this amazing place ...geocaching is great for this Thanks Dominic-Aidan...great cache
Before we even got to this bridge we were stopping for the "wow" moment. This river is so crystal clear and swiftly flowing. What a cool spot. Cache soon spotted, but being left handed made access a nice challenge!! Thanks for bringing us here Dominic-Aidan.
Of course we had to play as well! Found with pooh lover brother who is visiting from the states. Cool bananas!
Spencerinc found it for me, but I was the one kneeling to grab it lol
Easy find, good condition

We are having a winter break in Rotorua and have travelled over to walk to the falls and on to the lake.
This is a wonderful walk in every way. We've done it before, but ages ago.
We had left our GPS at home, so thought we'd just have a try for a few caches today with a few hand written notes from the website and our caching instincts.
I walked straight up to this cache, it's in good condition, although our clever little telescopic pen wasn't writing very well, I wasn't wearing glasses and it was raining, so the signing probably isn't too legible.
Thanks so much for adding to our great day out.

Found this one while on a holiday away from our home in Whangamata Thank for the cache and a day in the Forrest
Found with kiwitrecker1 and the youngest cacher who made the journey right through to the falls in a moon boot.... a true champion! This was our first visit here and we were so impressed! TFTC!!
My GPS was directed me here and there, and then somewhere But finally, I found it. TFTC! Greetings from Czech Rep.!
Never been out here before. Unfortunately didn't save these off line. But I still had the spots but no info. Had a fair idea where it could of been. Bit of search round then finally spotted it. Tftc
Second find of the day took a while to find as we were looking on the wrong side of the bridge to start with but once we walked over the bridge the co ordinates were down to zero for a few seconds then up to 12m GPS not liking it here anyway found the new cache and log sheet once across the bridge.

Cache has been replaced, still a bison tube though so need your own pen. And it has been put down lower than it was before but still the same coordinates.
After too long a time hunting, stopped and the Committee discussed, "What is a Pooh Stick?" Light bulb moment and found a good lead, which went nowhere.
Sending a message to the CO.
Fantastic pictures taken.
Look forward to hearing from you D-A.

This took way to long, searching all over the place, but Mrs Sp8 finally spotted it.

I went to the Information Centre, paid my $5 for a permit to drive on the road up towards the Tarawera Falls. It was well worth the money spent. The trail up to the Falls was nice and easy from the carpark. This one took a little while to locate.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Ninalila and I are spending 2 days around Tarawera Falls and Tarawera Lake.
On our first day, we stopped at the Tarawera falls carpark and went for the walk until the amazing waterfalls coming through the cliff.
A first nice day for taking some photos along the river and at the bottom of the falls.
We may have made a mistake with the dates on the log, we are not sure
we signed the logbook with our team name : lekiprokos
Thank you for the cache and the discovery

Fefe.adrien and I spent two days close to the Tarawera lake. It was an opportunity to go to the waterfalls for photography. We found some boxes on the way.
We were confused about the right date on the logbook.
We signed Lekiprokos.

We are on a mission today to find the vanishing river. We stopped here on the way to play pooh sticks, what a fun game. the cache was a easy find. TFTC
Pro cacher MaizoJ found it again! How many people walk past oblivious to these! TFTC.
#1972 Quick find using the hint. First cache today. Thanks for this one along the track.
Found with wb1117, wb-jnr and fynn_re

Well, how did this one slip by us? and so long ago lol.
We hadn't been this way for some time, and were up at the Falls to get some photos (higher resolution) ......and, of course, we took the GPS along just in case needed to take co-ords for a new placement. As we walked the track Murray suddenly said'There's a new cache here!' Bonus! Haha, it wasn't new!
So we found this cleverly-placed cache with the good clue. It is great to see another at this beautiful spot, and so well-positioned so as to keep traffic away from the bush, we give a favourite. Thanks very much.
(We didn't play Pooh sticks today...just photo-taking in some lovely late afternoon light).

Had just about given up hope of finding this then glanced behind me and there it was ib plain view. Good spot. Lots of water flowing past today.
A hot, summery Auckland Anniversary Monday in the Kawerau District. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
After a brief stop at the falls, we waited for some muggles to walk off before heading to the cache. The gps couldn't make up its mind which side of the river, but eventually told us it was the other side. We searched the more likely candidates, but this one was cleverly hidden. TFTC. We just managed to beat the muggles...

2.05pm - Walked up to cache but muggles were on the bridge, so continued walk up track to meet Squirrel Nutcase who I had dropped off earlier at the outlet end, he had found caches he hadn't done so we were able to collect this one on the way back. SLTFTC
Out for a family visit to the falls, showing some foreigners the sights. Unfortunately this was more of a sightseeing trip than a caching trip so I couldn't find all in this area, which on the plus side gives me another excuse to visit this cool place.
Had lots of trouble finding this one. Had a few sets of eyes looking, but still took about 10 mins to locate. Hanging bison's have always been my nemesis. Once found thou it did stand out quite a bit, so must of made it a lot harder than it should of been.

After half way up the Mountain in hand, NZFlossy suggested that we attack this one. GPS was mucking us around, so took a while, but got there in the end
Decided to get this one while in the area. Car was already dirty so what was a little more dust!!!- easy to say now when sitting in this chair and car all clean again This is such a beautiful walk which I always love - cache had us looking for a bit but when I thought about the hint we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
This was a tricky one especially since we forgot the gps. we managed to go by the hint but not sure which end of the bridge to look. Miss J found it while Mr F was away getting the gps, Miss J had a big grin on her face when he got back TFTC
Yay my first ftf well since having my own cache name.it took a little while since someone forgot the gps. such a beautiful day to go for a good long walk.
