Walked right past gz on our way to the view. Thanks for placing this cache so we could see the sights. Started up the hill at a fast pace and were soon out of breath! Nice quick find.
We were staying Omori for a few days and got sometime to go for a walk to the lookout. We noticed as we walked up we got close and then further away from the GZ. Returning down the hill we search the GZ and got lots of blackberry prickles for punishment. Reading the logs again we searched again and this time YES we found it. The container is no longer a 200ml sistema container, it is a double pill bottle now with no room for trackables. All good with the log, signed with Minecraftlad as well. Thanks PJMacNZ
Today friends of mine held a geo-event in Turangi because...well just because right? I mean, who really needs a reason to host an event? So I drove up from Ohau this morning, over a very miserable looking Desert Road, in order to attend and then go caching afterwards.Having just spent 3+ hours in the company of Mar1sa walking the Poutu Canal trail in order to get all the recently placed caches along it, I was now back on my own again. A new cache published today attracted me to this township, and having found that one I then went hunting for a few more caches as I'd never been here before. Very nice looking location for a holiday, I may have to return to spend more time here. The walk to GZ was more of an exertion than I was expecting for a T1.5, but no real problem. A short search and I had the cache in my hand. No issues to report here, and the log soon had my name on it before replacing everything back as found.Thank you for encouraging me to explore here today.
I have just walked down to GZ on this brilliantly fine day..and what a view! The cache is all there and in order, just waiting to be found.Happy hunting!
We got 1meter close and still could not find it but a beautiful view we think so one took it maby??
I visited the cache today with my grandson, all is in order, nice and dry inside,re-concealed and its ready to be found.Happy hunting!
A good day to go geocaching.
The view is fantastic.
(Bloody blackberry)
A good find, grab, sign and flee.

I stopped by to check the cache today and discovered that the container has been muggled(sadly).I have replaced it with another, this time it is a black pill bottle. It is all ready to be found.I checked the co-ordinates and they are accurate.Happy hunting!
This was the last cache on our list for today, and we were ready for lunch and a cup of tea. We were sure we were on the correct level of zig zag, but couldn't find anything. There were a lot of brambles hindering our search, and all of the gaps in the rocks were full of both leaves and sneaky hidden brambles, so in the end we had to give up. Even checked a higher level but the phones said we were 18m out there and no rocks to check there.
A quiet day for me s I'm hooked on a book: Fentanyl Inc. Got out of the car for this tho. Tftc
A nice quick find thanks. A nice wee walk and a huge panoramic view.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. A lovely sunny day as we drove from Taupo to National Park today.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Day 2 of AKL -> wanaka, picked up a couple along the way to welly. A previous log helped me get in the right place for this one. Tftc!
Staying in Omori for the long weekend and enjoying some walks in the area. We wanted to have a look at the local store and once up I decided to walk just a bit further and look for this one. It was a quick find after some zig zag.
This is an interesting pathway, seems old. We disturbed a quail family and there was much consternation all round until the last chick was reunited. Drama over we proceeded to the end of the pathway (having found and logged the cache). The view was not what I was expecting. TFTC
After a couple of days in Turangi, I headed home today taking the west route to go after some caches over here.
This was a trying walk zig-zagging up to GZ.

We walked up the hill on the loop to Pukawa road, through the bush walk there, then down for lunch at the lake shore then home.Checked the cache on the way.All is good and ready to be found.
After lunch the rain had eased so we decided to drive to Omori for some cache finds. We have driven past The View on previous holidays, but never attempted it until today. We parked at the bottom and walked up to GZ where the cache was quickly found. The walk up was a lot easier than expected, so we continued on up the last little bit to the top for a better view. A very grey day today, but this view must be amazing on a sunny day. Thanks for showing us.
Find number 4625. Decided to spend a couple of days in and around Turangi and also to attend 2 events being held in the area. After leaving at 7 am with a quick stop in Cambridge to grab a FTF. I had time before the event so grabbed some caches along the road. Then after the event I tried for this one. I wasn't sure where to start from. Ended up at the bottom so I turned around and went to the top. Parked up and made my way towards GZ. I was in the wrong area but could hear some work being done where I wanted to be. Back to the car where I noticed the path I required. Some work was being done to create some steps at the lookout but thankfully I needed to go further. GZ was out of sight so was able to grab in peace. Then back past the workmen happy not to have had to make the full climb. Thank you for the placement.
The kids and I spent the weekend in Taupo. Saturday we made our way to Turangi and then further around lake to Whareroa and then back to Taupo never been this side of the lake always good going to new places. We arrived back at the Lake Taupo holiday resort after dark and went straight to the hot pools so nice after a long day. Tftc
Quick find today after a nice walk up the hill.

Quick find here today a shame the view cant be located as much, still another one for the numbers, many thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.
On a road trip with part of Team BOP. Some of us didn’t have this one so we got dropped at the top and made run down collecting the cache on the way. Good path but no view on way. TFTC
On another Team BOP road trip heading to clear out some caches around Lake Taupo.
Flossy and I were dropped off at the top by the rest of the team who had done this before. Luckily they knew it was easier to get to from the top.
The find was quick and easy, but the track is starting to be overcome by blackberries. Still great to explore a new area, but there are no views here anymore.

Nice little climb for this one while on a road trip with tmann421. Enjoyed the walk
Left "early" Friday morning to collect two amazing fellow geocacher’s in Hamilton to drive along the scenic route to National Park for the night. After stopping with 11hpg11 for a delicious hot coffee and cookie at Kiwis69 we left Hamilton.
Made it in time to GZ to find the lake glowing in its sunset. TFTC

Out with Alpenmilch80 and 11hpg11 taking the scenic route to National Park with a few cache stops along the way. We signed logs as AK1 to save room. Weather is fab & having a great day out. Enjoyed our walk to GZ here and a nice straightforward find. TFTC

After a nice walk in Picnic Bay we called in here to grab a few of the quicker caches. We had a nice sunset view (although the trees blocked the best view) and soon found the cache. Surely they could have trimmed some trees for a greater view

Nice steep walk up the hill to find a cache & admire the view & break up the journey on our geocaching road trip honeymoon.
Gorgeous view even on a wet day. Worth the walk up the path to find this cache. Thanks

A bit of a huffer and puffer to walk up the hill but as you say well worth it for the view!
Once again we met butchie bum as we walked up to this cache, which was then a quick find. A reasonable view today, despite the damp overcast conditions, although you have to find the gaps in the vegetation. TFTC
Haha, this one didn't seem to far away, but it just kept zigging & zagging up quite a steep little hill. Got a bit of a puff going.
Great views from up here once we finally got there.
Left an alphabet stone - the letter Q
Thanks for bringing us here PjMacNZ

Well, we pulled up, then looked up, looked at each other, and said to ourselves, o.k. lets go! Delaying wasn't going to make it any easier. We began climbing. We could smell a beautiful scent but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. We could see some flowering trees but when we put our nose near there wasn't much in the way of perfume. It must have been something hidden from view. Anyway, reaching the right altitude we made a quick find and signed the log before replacing the cache. Now all we had to do was head back down. Thanks for the cache PHMacNZ!
Spending the afternoon caching around the west side of Lake Taupo - saw some lovely scenery and quite a bit of water activity. A quick find once at GZ. TFTC.

What wonderful views. Such a hidden little track, no signage at all. Went up and up and up, Eeek! Worth it for the views and another smiley. TFTC
Terrain was much harder than expected and we fully overshot gz and went to the top then back down, quickly found the cache, on the way back we passed another cacher. Thanks for the cache.
Had just been down the road collecting some caches and thought let's go see what omori caches there are saw this one first got out of the car saw the start thought lucky going up up up turn a corner and up turn another corner and up GPS decided not to co operate and we ended going up to the top just to return to go down to get the cache was a quick find then signed the log and back to the car to find the next one tftc
Last full day in Turangi for the mega event and it was time to go and get some caches up the west side of the lake for a bit of a numbers run. 19 finds in total for the day so not huge but still a bit of fun and great scenery.
Walked up from the suggested parking, with a Tui flying around for the start of the journey. Have to see if any of my attempted photos came out. The switchback below the cache seems to contain a bees nest as they got quite active as I got close, so if you find that go up another level. No idea if they are the stinging variety or not, but I wasn't about to check. Once at the correct level it was an easy find, and also some great views. Thanks PjMacNZ.

While at the Tauranga MEGA. We toured out along SH41. To locate a few of the caches out this way. So we detoured down to Omori. And Kiratau I had not been to either. So it was interesting to see how popular the area has become and no doubt Land value has rocketed in the area. It is a lovely view from up here and been better further up the road where I took the photo. Thank you Peter for this accessible cache and another smiley face.
It took us a little while to figure out where to park for this one, but re.reading the description revealed it. Quite a walk up here

For our weekend of MEGA adventures we decided on a name of INT GEO as our team included cachers from USA, Fiji and Denmark with a couple of kiwis making up the balance. From the start we decided on quality not quantity but we wanted to include a mix of cache types to share with our newbie cacher.
We enjoyed two days out and about with good weather, great caches shared with a fun team.
As the kiwis in the team, we were constantly reminded of the amazing scenery that we simply take for granted as we were frequently shown examples of "trees dripping with colour", "lichens growing amongst the volcanic vomit", "picturesque lakeside bays" and "mountains of meringue"...... Thanks for all the COs for sharing with us a fabulous area of NZ. Great views from the parking area TFTC.

A nice steep walk up to this one! We enjoyed looking across to the night lights of Taupo - although can imagine it would be quite a good view in the daylight!
Bit of a climb but worth it to get to the top.
CO should check GZ and finders should be aware the the cache is not hidden in any of the "llighting" fixtures. They seem to be loose which I hope is not a symptom of previous searchers...

Puffed up to this one.
Time to log our little trip to the Mega in Turangi. Enroute we detoured via Feilding for the Yumfest dinner, a night cache and a bit of puzzle gathering. Of course there were traditionals, a few multis, some earthcaches and lots of coffee stops to endure. Most found with bkj97, Edvern or the crew we stayed with in Turangi. Now of course the task of logging them all becomes a necessity. My apologies for the "cut and paste" logs. I will add favourites where I think it was particularly memorable. Thanks to all the cache owners for giving us things to do on our journey. It seemed strange to drive back to the Kapiti Coast post Mega without stopping for any caches. Happy caching. TFTCSL

Out and about with bkj97 and Little Blue Hen. Enjoying a sunny morning and this pleasant area to be exploring. Coordinates were spot on and the container was quickly found. Thanks PJMacNZ.
What to do in the evening at a Mega Event - probably should try some cache hunting for something different. We decided to hit the Omori and Kuratau with Nofs to see how many we could find before dark (and dinner).
It's getting dark but we have time to walk up the well defined track to the look-out to find the cache. Twists and turns in the track kept making us think we were close but finally we were there. A quick locate and log sign then back down the track as it was too dark to bother going to the lookout unfortunately.

Initially shot passed this one as we were uncertain of safe parking. Decided on our way out, we would park down the side road and then zig zag our way up along the trail. Great views today.
Beautiful Day. Harder to find this one. After this one I'm really starting to find out how they are found. Nice walk. Tftc
Nice find and a good hidden trail. I like the view as we have often been in the area but never up here. TFTC #25
Great views up here today with blue skies and sunshine.
Took a little motorbike to make room for a whale (...as we had watched the movie FreeWilly2 last night and thought this would be a good place to spot whales if they wanted a fresh-water holiday and ever make it up the Waikato and Huka Falls!).

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Travelling around the south-western shores of Lake Taupo. Our plan is to clear out as many caches as possible, before the Mega Event turns this area into crazy-land...
It would seem that a substantial amount of money has been spent on this walkway. I wonder how many people outside of locals actually know of its existence. The views are spectacular and I'm surprised that the area hasn't seen heavier development. This path is a hidden gem. Thanks for bringing me here, and TFTC.

A short 180m straight line walk from car to cache won't take long. But then there was the climb, zigzag, more climb, a cache, and then a little more climb to another road and scenic subdivision. Great views, thanks.
Found it. Beautiful view. This is a little bit of an odd track though; a concrete path that goes straight up a hill to a tiny house and lots of lights on the track. Saw lots of hares (or very large rabbits); the kids really enjoyed seeing them. Left a few kid toys for trades.
TFTC!
Once we got the car parked in the right spot it was a walk in the park. HEYO!
