To all you guys trying to log those FTFs now that they are released... Sorry, you can't. Growley Bear forgot to remove the lock he put on them. I'll let you know when they are loggable.
On another note - re lets do something for CITO day - Done! See you all at the Cache and Play Cito Event in Wanganui!
Remember:
Good geocaching practice: Log all trackable pickups within 3 days.
Bad geocaching practice: Don't log trackable pickups. Or log them late.
Bad geocaching practice earns the ire of the Seagnoid. Yes, I have eyes on the back of my head, I CAN see you!
Some of the geokids collected TBs. Make sure they get logged too!

Thanks for the very interesting and informative time had at your home the seagnoid. It was fantastic for me - a new geocacher to talk to others and see what inventive people can, will and actually do to hide their treasures. After the event tmann421 and I went on a finding spree and I learnt even more about the hiding places and amazing ideas and places that geocachers find for their hidey-holes. Thoroughly enjoyable time at your place the seagnoid, and I am very much looking forward to meeting again and finding some of your caches.
Thanks to the Seagnoid for a most enjoyable and well organised event. It was great to meet up with some new faces from outside of my usual area.
The whole EtherLord Clan attended, including "Water Boy" (Sorry Tom...)
Thanks for everyone's comments toward my Cache Concept, I suppose I'd better get the clutch fixed in my rear transaxel and finish developing the concept to become a reality

Will be coming from Hastings, plan to be there around 1130 or so, depends on how many caches I stop for on the way down!
Will have plenty of personal TBs and geocoins for discovery too, and can certainly take some back to Hastings area

Another very successful MGC event. Lots of good cache ideas shared along with happy caching and general conversation, plus yummy lunch. What more could we want? Many thanks Tom, and all who helped with the event.
[green] Yep, I even attended my own event! Awesome event, glad the weather held off and let us play outdoors rather than try and squeeze inside. Thanks for all your help everyone! Congratulations to the winners of the four sub events!

Enjoyed the drive down from Hastings with littleredpenguin, who decided very last minute to come.
Thanks to everyone who shared their inventive and creative cache containers. I've got lots of new ideas now for cache containers to place here in Hastings and Napier!
A big thanks for the venue and shared lunch, and for all the tbs and geocoins to discover and share.
Nice to meet plenty of good caching folk, keep up the good work.

Thanks for hosting Tom. I was very impressed at how many people could fit in and around your smallish place! Kids all got on really well too...Thanks for another fun event.
Wow, another awesome event. Celebrating what makes caching possible - the Cache Makers - the hiders of the geocaches that we enjoy finding so much. And especially those few special people that turn a simple cache hide a thing of beauty. Lots of luck on the weather, there were more people then i was expecting and fitting you all indoors might have been a problem!
Congrats to Karen and Jules for the best cache page with The Shire. Congratulations to Marisa and Kaleb for winning the best cache container, and what an outstanding piece of work it is! But no more hints from me. Todd's awesome piece missed out by just one vote, sorry, Tmann. Congrats to Bryan for winning your favourite cache, and Bryan again for winning the highest Favourite percentage, both for the same cache, Amaze II. There is a standard geocaching prizes for outstanding caches: each winner gets favourites - Cadbury Favourites. Okay, Bryan gets two...
Then the hard one. The best of the best was awarded via a show of hands to Marisa and Kaleb, I will have you year's free membership uploaded shortly.
And, of course, everyone wins - a new Maker Madness Souvenir.
Many thanks also George and Bryan and Aiden and Helena and Hannah and Kaye and Thomas and... and... and anyone else I should mention but seem to have forgotten who helped out in making this such a great event. And to everyone anyway for such an awesome meal!
And to everyone who brought their caches along to to show us some great ideas and techniques.
And to Benjamin who tried to empty the Palmerston North town water supply into my bathroom. Maybe an indoor swimming pool? However the spies where on their toes and his evil plan was thwarted before it was too late. Well, before it was waay too late.
Remember everyone, there is a CITO weekend on ... um... 26 April I think. We should do something. I and Thomas have one possibility, but it is not great. You guys have any ideas.
See you all out there!

Thanks to everyone for the Beta testing of a new cache, you all get a heads up of what is to come. Thanks to those who made suggestions for improvements and to combat wrong assembly. Thanks Tom for a most enjoyable day ( another 20 to the total by the time I got home). Thanks for the link to project-gc.com found that I am at 15 for the whole country for total favourites out of 2300. Don't forget to keep that BBQ rust free. Overall a fantastic day, well done.

A very enjoyable event, as always, with an excellent turn out of cachers who came from far & wide.
& thanks for the prize of a box of "favourites" - a very appropriate choice of a prize!

Found a couple of things left behind;
1: Blue bag "Tararua Country / Get Ready get Thru" containing a box of dominoes.
2: Magnetic key holder wrapped in grey tape.
Yours? Let me know.

Thanks for hosting an awesome event Tom. Was good to meet everyone again and eat some really yummy food!
Another awesome Manawatu event. Thanks for all the organising everyone. Sorry we couldn't stay long but we had a great day.
#5351. Great organisation and celebrations of the wonderful cache makers in the region, and special thank you to all for the sharing of secrets and ideas. Good to meet up with folks we met before and others we met for the first time. Thanks to the CO also for the new caches published which we managed to have a couple of FTFs afterwards.
Mr & Mrs RiffRaff were not exactly 100% after the RRR BBB the night before, but we still really enjoyed the Event, with old and new faces alike. We didn't grab any caches on the way home, but did grab a couple of munzees that we'd been after (that required an after hours approach). A big thanks to Seagnoid for hosting the event - a lovely relaxing day out - just what we needed. Cheers
Wow! My first event ever where all trackables were retrieved with 3 days! You guys are outstanding!
Another great Manawatu event, wish I could have stayed longer it was great to catch up with fellow cachers, thanks Tom
Hayley and Hannah enjoyed investigating the interesting new cache containers and meeting some other geocaching kids.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Great event, thanks Tom. Was good to catch up with everyone and see some awesome cache containers! Kids all seemed to have fun too.
Good fun event - thanks, the Seagnoid for putting it on
Some good containers to view.
Good to catch up with some geocachers and nice to talk to you when I came back after the event.

Fun times exploring the new cache ideas.
Came from hastings. Nice and friendly event

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for an awesome event! Now inspired to go make some awesome caches.
Camp RiffRaff is getting geared up for the 2nd RRR BBB at Camp Headquarters, but have the bags packed for tomorrow - barring any major catastrophes, we'll see you there - we might not be 100% LOL but we'll be there. Cheers
Less than a week to go!
Remember there are four competitions - two of which you need to bring things.
1. Either print out up to two of your cache pages or let me know their IDs for the cache page write up competition,
2. Bring a cache container for the cache competition. A clever container or a themed decoration might be just the ticket.
But this event is all about ideas. Have a container that will not win the competition but is none the less made out of interesting materials and/or techniques? Bring it along!
Don't have any caches and would like ideas for a container? Well, is this the right place for you!
And bring something for the barbcue and a salad to share.
First two people to arrive - please park in the driveway. And don't forget to claim your FTF!
See you soon!

Note: to give us time for the ballot and counting and prize giving and general praise, caches and cache pages need to be presented by 1pm. If you are late, you WILL miss out on votes. If you cannot make it by 1pm, at least email me the cache pages you are submitting, I will print them off and get them in for you.
Also - having trouble with my puzzle Geocaching History? The answer to G: Who was the first finder will be revealed at the event!
Happy hunting!

Now hopefully I will gather my ideas etc and attend although I need to beat the airport at 1.30 to pick up granddaughter. AND it is a dot day for me also!
Maybe, just maybe. It's log-splitting weekend at the end of the month so I'll have to see how the day is progressing. It's a dot day too, so extra incentive to try and make it there.
[green] Well... Just how wrong can I be? Wronger than a wrong thing on Let's Be Wrong day! My event is not next weekend, it is the week after! Gives you another week to prep your awesome caches.
Next weekend is the assault on Mt Taranaki - to claim the cache at the top. Leave Palmy Friday night, spend the night in a lodge ($22) on Taranaki, back in Wanganui Saturday night. Interested in coming along? Drop me a line.

Well, today is International Pi Day (March 14th - 3.14) so hope I get to see you at Stardust's place tonight. Don't forget your pie!
And while on the subject of not forgetting, next weekend, Sunday 30th is Groundspeak's Maker Madness, and the Celebrating the Cache Maker event at the home of the Seagnoid.
If you are entering the competitions then don't forget to make bring a cache with you, something that might be worthy of a maker's award. And print out one of your own cache pages - something with an outstanding write-up. Or let me know, and I will have it printed out for you.
Yes, I better get stuck in and build my caches. I have some ideas already...
See you there!

Unfortunately I am unable to attend. I would love to know the winners for each category after the event however.
Looks like a great event! I will put the date in my calendar and try to make the trip from Hastings. Will try to round up a couple of others too.
As for spray painting plastic, I find it best to give a light sand with fine sandpaper to take the sheen off the plastic and allow a better surface for the paint to adhere to.

It's in my calendar... Try spraying your pots with a metal etch primer first. It will normally eat into the surface and then you can put what ever you like over the top
Sounds great Tom, I was hoping there would be an event of this variety coming up.
Sounds good Tom - provided nothing comes up (and we hope everything has now) we'll be there.
Sorry to say we are unable to attend, we will be in Motueka with our grandchildren.
