Staying in Beechworth on our way home from Geelong and we found out you could hire electric bikes in town. Considering we had a somewhat later start and came back well before the sun went down, I think 40 finds and a couple of DNFs is a good effort! We got about 1km from Everton but we'll reach there another time. Mum and I went as far as we could after 5 hours of riding before we turned around to come back. We got trapped into a false sense of security because we went downhill the whole way and then had to go uphill basically all the way back and we were worried our electric charge would run out with all the assistance we needed from them to get up the hills! But nonetheless, that made the effort feel even more fulfilling. The ride was lovely and the area is sublime, and today was the perfect weather with blue skies and lower temperatures. It was almost as though we visited six seperate areas considering how different they looked to each other. Awesome stuff today!
After spotting the safe way up the cache was quickly found. Funny hide, TFTC!

First cache in a while. Nice to be back outside…even if it’s really cold. Not raining yet, but it will. SL at 11am.
Went to climb up the embankment then found an easier way. Didn’t take long to find the prize. TFTC.

Wangaratta Mega time and with the FFLL ladies, we had planned to attack the big rail trail whether it was rain, hail or shine. Well the heat sure did knock us around and plenty of hydration was required across the day. We had a time limit today, as there was somewhere we needed to be in the evening so we got through as many as we possibly can.
Continuing on the trail on our ebikes, made our way to this one for a find and sign. The heat today is getting pretty intense, the hydration bladder is getting a workout
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache BeechworthSC1

Day 2 at the Wangaratta Mega with Rapidlywild.
Plans were made to attack the rail trail so with the eMtbikes loaded onto the car we headed to the furthermost part of this trail. Plans were changed as part of the team managed to break her foot and ended up being our ground support which probably actually worked out for the better. Hydration was kept cold and on hand if needed or should anything else go wrong.
All caches found along this trail unless otherwise mentioned. Sorry for the generic logs.

Third day of my Wangaratta adventure. Weather forecast is looking good again. Lots of caching in the local area today as a heads up for tomorrow's main event! Railtrail all the way

dalerious and catnap777 asked if I wanted to accompany them for a possible FTF hunt and a bit of caching[?][?]
I'm guessing that they didn't really expect me to say 'no'!
Rex and I had a huge day out[|)][xx(][|)] because after sharing a noodle lunch with dalerious and catnap777[:X], we took off to cache elsewhere and left the lovebirds[:X][^][:X] to their own devices and company[^]
34 cache attempts, between 9.31am and 1.51am the following morning, resulted in 5 DNFs and 29 finds
Starting in the Warbys, we ended up trying, but not succeeding, to complete the HSS series and finally ended the trip with a DNF in a foggy cemetery at Myrtleford
Found this one, woohoo!, that's one more less left to find now from this series[^]

#1847 Doing the Beechworth to Myrtleford section of the M2m rail trail today. As we had done the Gaol tour and had a leisurely lunch we only had time to do a random selection of caches between Beechworth and Everton. This was one of them. Did the climb to GZ and found the cache holder initially and it wasn't until closer investigation realised it was actually the cache. (Should take closer look at the cache name ) Discovered the log was a soggy mass of Papier Mâché so it was back down the slope to get a replacment waterproof log sheet. Left the lump of old log in the outer cache holder. TNSL. TFTC BeechworthSC1. Nice hiding spot!
Out and about finishing off the Hoop series, so grabbed a few trads along the way. Thank you BSC1 for providing and maintaining these caches which were found in good condition. The log on this one was damp. I have made the CO aware
Great hide, found with Jackez74
Log is completely wet could only initial it. Needs replacing. TFTC

Found with Matho64. Definitely worthy of a fave for the container. Log is very wet and tried to write our initials. TFTC
Very clever hide but sadly the log was a bit wet. Still managed to sign. TFTC
If you approach directly from the rail trail then this one is much harder! The easy way was taken on the way down! The log book is slightly damp as well due to the rubber seal being perished. No spares with us today.
An extremely late log. Found on a day trip with Dalerious while riding the Rail Trail. TFTC
Another calendar hole to fill and more work in the current souvenir meant another day down at Beechworth to collect a few recently placed ones and also a few that had been in holes on previous visits. All caches in good condition and I found all the ones I attempted except for a multi in Myrtleford which was just too busy.
Next stop was the final 5 caches along this part of the rail trail that I have visited many times. Last visit I ran out of time so the geohound was pleased with the 5km walk (downhill first) to collect these ones. Biggest issue was lack of reception so had limited info so needed to just trust the GPS and keep my eyes open.
This one was next on the trail and got some reason the info came through just as I approached the GZ (the only one that FID in this stretch). Like others I walked past and then came back up a slightly less steep slope to find the cache. Quickly located in the expected outer container. This one was also very soggy (though a different container to the last) so could not really sign. Log then replaced as found.

I bicycled from Beechworth to Everton today on the M2M today. I had a mixed bag of results caching wise over the initial part of the trail and at one stage had almost as many DNFs as I had finds. Thankfully this trend reversed itself as the day went on. I enjoyed the great scenery along the way. I was pleased I decided to complete it in the direction I did, a nice cruisey downhill ride. Cheers and TFTC
Day 3 Milawa, staying at the Brown Brothers RV area. From here we will cache in Wangaratta and Beechworth areas
I dropped Bill off, on his bike to do a couple of the HSSeries & a few of MMRT. He enjoyed his ride & said he only met one other cyclist along the trail. He found this section more challenging than the previous day. This is the type of caching that he likes best.
Thanks for placing this cache BeechworthSC1

Nice. No obligations today so a perfect day to unload the bike and fill in a few gaps by sprinting between each cache! Sometimes being taller helps but the will is strong no matter the challenge! TFTC, ingenuity of some and the series
### Beechworth Murray to Mountain Rail Trail Everton ###
-----------------------
Day 2
I’ve spent a couple of days in Beechworth
The landscape is beautiful, lots of nature and animals
I’ve done a day trip with my bike today along the Murray to mountain rail trail.
Some of the cache coordinates were quite off and I was looking for the caches quite a while on my own.
I am just asking myself who does one hide small micro caches in the bush when there is so much space for bigger caches?
I didn’t find all of them but I’ll still intend to log all since I’ve been looking for a while and some of them might be gone anyway
However, weather was nice, about 30 degrees and I had a lovely day
Thank you for the nice caches
Greetings from Germany

Gunks and Trailstevos 'Summer' adventure. Well at least the rain is warm. Trek to Bright and surrounds taking in some places along the way. Sorted out the gap we missed last year. Gunks made it to GZ. TFTC
Day 1 of 3 in the Beechworth Bright area for Trailstevo and I. 12 months ago we were here and had to get back for some unfinished business. We collected a few cache on the way up, all pretty much drivebys and then onto the Beechworth rail trail to continue on where we left off. Picked up around 30 on the trail and then stopped for a few solved puzzles in the area. The weather has been so bad here in the past day, but we were serious lucky to not get wet today. Luck to see an echidna and 4 tawny frogmouths sat on one branch. Has been a good outing today. Heading into Bright for dinner now. Thanks for the fun.
We were starting to get tyred by the time we found this one last weekend. We were out after geokid No.2 convinced me that we should head back to Everton and finish the rail trail triangle and head up toward Beechworth. It was a perfect day for caching on the bike. This cache was the fifteenth for the day. TFTC
Starting to get tired. Found back in Sept on a railtrail ride with geokid#3.TFTC
Second find moving up towards Beechworth. A very pleasant day to be out experiencing the Rail Trail and all its variety of hides.
A slight diversion from the main drag at GZ and the clue was very helpful with our search. The cache was found quickly and in good condition.
SL at 11am. A favourite point from us.
A well-constructed hide in a nice spot. TFTC BeechworthSC1.

First day of a great long weekend geocaching along the Mountains to Murray (MMRT) trial ride. Caching the trail only took half the day and started at Beechworth with weather that provided great cloudscapes and had me wearing all my warm bike gear. We had to clamber up and down slopes on this first section of caching adventure. Have to say the caches out here were a bit tricky and took a little looking for at times. Loved the large cuttings in this section of the trail.
Special thanks to Strange Trousers for organising the caching weekend ensuring that we did not have to ride up hill all the way. Having a friend who encouraged me to do a long bike ride over several days with what was meant to be flat and was in fact rolling hills – map reading is an important skill to learn.
On this day it was nice to have Grimrader join us on the bikes – have to thank him for being the back-up guy and provide transport of bikes and people on the second day.
Loved the views, smell of peppercorns and lots of laughs along the way.
Logs were signed as "Capital Crunchers", "CBR Crunchers" and "Canberra Crunchers". Thanks to my companions today: CBRChic, Kittykatch, Grimrader, DarkSideDan and Joolay.

#4108 37th for today
Day 1 of our Mountains to the Murray (MMRT) trail ride. We started at Beechworth "station" on a cool & slightly drizzly day, but please to see the recent rain had abated. We didn't get started until lunchtime today due to other events, but it was still very cool as we set out along the trail. We reeled in the cachers fairly consistently, but there were some tricky ones and others that we required us to head off the track to make the find. So it was hard to build up a rythym. We aimed to get to Everton by dusk today & we did just that.
Mmmm doughnuts.

Fantastic day riding to Everton on the first part of the trail. The rain held off and we had a good day. But it was great when the sun came out. Lovely area and great trail. Did not find all as some were tricky. Found with Kittykatch, Canberra Chic, Strangetrousers and Darksidedan (Capital Crunchers) on a caching trip to Wangaratta to ride the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here
Today is the 9th of June 2018 and I managed to ride a bike for the first time in 15 years to find a heap of the Rail Trail caches with Joolay, Kitty Katch and several others. We signed the logbook as a group under the name Capital Crunches to save space on the logs. We had several DNFs along the way but most of the caches were easy and quick finds. Spotted two rabbits, millions of birds and heaps of farm animals. It was amazing, Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with so many caches in one day it would be too hard to write a different one for each cache. I have included my Geocaching poem within my log for you and anyone else to read. I hope you all enjoy the poem and geocaching as much as I do.
I made the find for the group on this cache. Very cool idea.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of today the 9th June 2018 my average was 70 words per log, which seems close to the 100 target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After almost 3000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

Along with the end of spring, it is the end of this visit to the cache rich area of NE Victoria. We have had an amazing time in the very good company of Suscoe. We found this cache among the many trails, puzzles, geo-art and multi’s, the CO’s have created, often highlighting local history, the fabulous scenery and of course, providing immeasurable geocaching fun for everyone!

A 4 day trip from Adelaide to Everton, Beechworth and surrounds.
8 of South Australia's finest caching teams came across the border Freddo, Team Astro, The White Dog Gang, Four Fun, Unicycle, Southern Cross Caching, Shonkloic, and Team Waldron hit the bike trails and country back roads.
It wasn't nice the the mozzies were sent to defend the ceches against us but we persisted.
On the way home we visited Bendigo, St Arnaud and many towns in between.
Many thanks to all the cache owners who put out caches for us to find.
A great time was had and we left enough to make another trip worthwhile.

Found on an awesome trip with the SAW STUFF boys (Shonky, Astro[me], Waldron, Southern Cross, Whitedog, Unicycle, Freddo & Four-Fun). The trip had it all including this awesome cache. There were pots and schooners (no pints) , mazzive mozzies the size of small elephants we hitched rides on , realistic lizards, real live [xx(] kangaroos that got to close and uphills. Then there were bikes and pumps. There was sweat and dust but no tears. My thanks to the group and the coordination that enabled an amazing fun filled few days that will go down in caching-lore. [^]
Thanks to BeechworthSC1 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Quick find. We CAME. We CACHED. We SAW STUFF. Eight South Australian caching teams on the prowl in Lake Victoria. We were attacked by vampire mosquitoes. We were attacked by rogue magpies. We were attacked by brown snakes. We were attacked by running kangaroos. We were attacked by publicans and cooks. In the end we got the message and went home, but not before finding lots of hidden cachey things using billions of dollars of satellites and cheap hand-held devices.
One of many fun finds on along the way on the "SAW STUFF" road trip to central Victoria with Shonki, Astro, Waldron, Southern cross, Twdg, Uni & Freddo [^]

I was on leave so plans were made to head to the Beechworth area with My good Mate the Roostaman, Today the weather was perfect and we spent most of the day riding the MMRT trail from Beechworth to Everton, I was glad I had not decided to ride my 2k carbon bike down the trail as it turned out half the caches were off on another much rougher trail?? We found several of the caches along this section with wet and full logs. Thanks BeechworthSC1 for the cache.
**# 15132** Found on an absolutely excellent week long adventure with Rebel Acts.
A perfect spring day for another ride along the MMRT trail from Beechworth to Everton.
Lots of muggles around today and a lot of wet caches that will need maintenance.

Took the bikes out for a lovely day of Riding and caches. Tftc! needs maintenance
We picked off the rest of the trail we had not got from our previous visit. we sure picked a day that was going to be hot !! We managed a couple of dnf but mostly smileys, some caches were little more challenging than others, bit of creativity and variety along the trail, mostly very quiet but did meet some people at the Everton end. Thanks for placing this trail for all to enjoy.
Hi there BeechworthSC1. We found your cache "MMRT - Spare Me" at 9:07:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12294.
[Blue]
Today, instead of wearing our behinds off both ways on the rail trail, Ian rode the trail and Penny ferried the car to the planned finish point. We both enjoyed our roles in th cache run today. We placed a favourite point on the more "inventive" caches we found (hopefully remembering them all) & ended up logging 19 and DNF'ing 3 today.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing in the small ones, and a smiley badge wherever we could fit one.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found with Snickersallan on our second trip to Albury this year. Long hard slog today, not as young as I used to be
Enjoyed the adventure of coming down from Sydney with Bluewattle to attempt a few series in this area. The bike track was very easy to ride on and to get to most of the caches. Thanks CO for the great hides and TFTC
Found 11:09:00 AM, on a cycle expedition down and then back up a portion of the Beechworth to Wangaratta rail trail. We were swooped by magpies four times and saw a large black snake across the trail during our journey, and finished the day at the Bridge road Brewery.
TNLN, thanks BeechworthSC1.

Collected some caches whilst riding downhill from Beechworth. Wonder about the terrain rating. However, a very clever hide. TFTC
We were out on this beautiful day on the trail from Beechworth with Poa4 to grab a few hides.
This series has been attempted by us in stages.Love the hides but with some questionable terrain ratings had us struggling a little.

It was a great day for a bike ride so thought it was time to come back and pick up the new caches that have been placed since we were last here. Decided it was easier to take the long way around then the direct path. Great idea for a cache container. TFTC
TFTC. We dedicated that this morning would be ideal to walk a section of the rail trail and collect caches along the way. Felt like a mountain goat as I scrambled for this one. Another inventive hide.
#3288 - 08:20; After a good night's sleep and an early breakfast, it was time to hit the trail with Sol de lune and fitzy_1965. We had just had our first DNF of the day, so were determined to make amends here. Sol ended up scaling the heights to retrieve this one and sign the log. Nice bit of recycling too! TFTC BeechworthSC1
9539 + 1078 = 10617. Found during a trip down to the Beechworth region with Sol de Lune and LuckyL10n.
We were up early to hit this trail. After quite an effort back at Water Stop it was nice to find this one a bit quicker ! Signed, returned to its hidey hole, and continued aliong the trail.
Thanks again BeechworthSC1 ! Glad we got A-Round to it !!

Grabbed with fitzy_1965 and LuckyL10n on another trip to this great area.....
Took the direct approach to this one, which was a bit of fun, and soon had the cache in hand. Cool container, and once the log was signed, we were off to the next one....
Thanks B-SC1

Really enjoyed the Beechworth area, reminds us a little bit of Arrowtown in NZ so decided to stay extra night. Asked the owner/manager of Woolshed Cabins accom where to hire a bike after explaining what geocaching was about. He said there were free bikes available in town but we could use his bike & that Beechworth to Everton would be down hill - great !
This was one of over forty caches found today, Thanks to all the COs in the area for their cache placements to make this a highlight of our trip.

Another day, another ride along the magnificent MMRT
My ride today chasing caches was in the sensible direction *
With high humidity and a warm day forecast, and already being felt, all I needed was an excuse to step off the bike and go for a hike
At least there was an easy way up
The bike path was not very popular today for some reasons ...
... possibly heat, humidity, and heaps of debris littering the trail after last nights storms
So nobody wondered why there was a bike abandoned at the side of the trail while I mucked around and found the cache
Oh !! Spare Me !!
Must have been a small bike [:o]
TFTC
*Sensible direction ?
Short rides between caches on the uphill grade, followed by the "Whhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!" on the downhill grade to find the geomobile after finding a dozen geocaches

Glad the trail wasn't as popular as I thought it may have been.
I'm sure passer bys would have been wondering where the owner of the bike was.

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.
Well we moved to Beechworth to dodge some of the heat, so what did we do today on our hottest day yet? Go caching of course [:o)]
We left the cat in the airconditioned comfort whilst we rode 26km in the heat [B)]
We decided to ride along about 1km at a time to the other end so we could take our time on the return journey. stopping at the remainder of the caches.
Gotta have a plan you know.
Well the plan sort of worked but it was soooo hot and we were getting a bit testy especially on the back of 2 DNF's which fast got closer to 6 DNF's but think that some were "did not function" rather than "did not find" Also there were a few we left with DNA "Did not attempt" by the end of the day anything that was not on the track, was way TOO hard for us.
So a long arduous day for us.
Really disappointed to see how much damage Geocachers are doing to the bank here. We walked around and took the easy approach cache was in hand quicksmart.

Looking forward to meeting other geocachers at the next Australian Geocaching Mega event

We hit the bike trails today with plenty of caches still available for us to do. Warmer today which took a bit more out of us. Great scenery. Happily this was one of the caches we targetted and were able to get Thanks to BeechworthSC1 for placing this cache.
My geomum, geodad and I went cycling along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and picked up caches along the way.
Geomum and I walked to get this.
Thanks for placing caches along this trail BeechworthSC1.

We had teamed up with Alansee and The Drovers in Everton and planned 5 days of caching in this fantastic part of the world.
This one (MMRT), the HSS, the M2M and the High Voltage trail being the main reasons for our visit this time.
Day one, With bikes loaded we headed off to this section getting some from the car along the way.
With the weather on our side we had a great ride, although we did go the up hill way and found most caches we attempted with only 3 DNF's all up and after a late lunch got a few more by car.
We understand the effort that must have gone into setting this up and the fun we had doing it deserves better than this generic log but with so many finds in one day we can not remember each one individually.
We can say we did enjoy finding the varied hides along this great part of the Rail Trail.
To save time and not take up room on the logs we signed as ACDC
Alansee AC The Drovers Team Crackers. (Mainly because it sounded good. )
Many thanks BeechworthSC1 for all the time, money and effort you put into this great series.
We will drop some favourite points on the ones we remember the most.

Met up with Team Crackers and Alansee, for 5 fantastic days of caching around Beechworth,
Myrtleford & Yackandandah. This was a very good trail for bike riding, which made the hunt
for the well hidden caches more enjoyable. The log was signed as ACDC.
Many thanks for placing this cache, BeechworthSC1, for us and others to find.

Found with The Drovers and Team Crackers, using bikes, with the odd car shuttle thrown in to get us back. I made notes as I went along but now some of them don't make sense!
Sorry for the late and the generic log.
This was found on a weekend away with sorceysal and bogonghazy. Our aim was the hoops series and we added these into the mix whenever possible. bogonghazy did all the work for this one.
I will be back to complete this series with Tag-along in the not too distant future.

We took an easy way up the bank via a MB track and soon discovered the cache - had to smile when we saw what it was! Like it. SL at 10.48am #2394 TFTC BeechworthSC1 That finishes off the section, now to walk back in the other direction.
Quick find after scrambling somehow up the bank. Novel idea once again.

Quick run out to grab this one during lunch today. A bit of water pooling but the cache was sitting high and dry.

Since the weather was so good this weekend we decided to tackle a North East Rail trail.
The varieties of hides along here made for a really interesting ride and the sunny weather was great too.
Another scramble to this cache.
The tyre has a little water in it. Might need a hole or 2 drilled in for winter.

Up this way to catch up with one of my cousins and chip away at a few caches in the area,
armed with loaded our GPS’s and enthusiasm we split the time between the two.
The caching proved interesting and varied with the types of hides found, Manny thanks to

Slink1 had some family business up up this way so it was an opportunity to pick up some caches at the same time. GPS's loaded and filled with caches we havn't found we set off to make the trip worthwhile. Thats the best thing about geocaching - there is always some you haven't found. We had a great time and Slink1 did what he had to do too. Thanks to BeechworthSC1. TNLN SL
# 6294. Time to use some pedal power today and make an attack on these relatively new MMRT caches. We parked at the Quarry end and made our searches on the upward journey so we could have a rapid downhill run back to the car. Not a bad day on the bikes although the weather could have been a little kinder.
The first one that required scrambling today. There were to be many more. Soon had the cache to hand and back down to the track and onwards.
Thanks BeechworthSC1

Got the deadly treadlies out for a ride up the trail from Everton to Baarmutha Station with BettyBoo3747.
The weather was a bit changeable, but we really only got some serious rain at the Water Stop where we stopped for some morning tea.
Nice and sunny for the short trip back down.
Walking up the bank was out today as the rock was wet and slippery, so when the GPSr said "up there" we walked back to where the cutting started.
We were a little tired by the time we arrived.
Thanks, Robmc.

[:(!] After church I went for an afternoon of caching with my two geograndsons (Mr Big Shot) and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to "E2B - Yellow Bike 200" - (GC36Y7F) and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

#766 Hit the rail trail today on the geobikes and rode from Mytleford to the edge of Beechworth and back to Everton, all up 51.5kms and of course grabbed a couple of caches along the way.
20 of 37 caches signed today. We were tiring by this stage of the trip. It was tiring getting to gz to retrieve this cache. In summary, this cached made us tyred (pun). Btw, we emptied some water from this one, all good now.
