Might be timely for the CO to check on this cache seeing as it has a number of DNF's steadily growing.

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out! After an exhaustive search, including the use of elevation gear, this one beat us today.

Thanks anyway to BeechworthSC1 for bringing us to this location.

After rolling down from the Flame trees it was good to get off for a min for a search to warm up, wind chill whilst rolling down made me cold really fast.
Just as I leaned my bike to have a look, I turned my head and there it was. Not sure why I didn't stop for this one when I did the rest of trail some time ago, doesn't matter as I've found it now.

TFTC Cheers.

We picked off the rest of the trail we had not got from our previous visit. we sure picked a day that was going to be hot !! We managed a couple of dnf but mostly smileys, some caches were little more challenging than others, bit of creativity and variety along the trail, mostly very quiet but did meet some people at the Everton end. Thanks for placing this trail for all to enjoy.

29-Dec-15
Well here we go, new bikes for Xmas, novice riders and the grand plan to cache from Beechworth to Wangaratta. That's what happens when we spy a series on the map. Apologies for generic logs but too hard to right up individual. Will put comments where possible. Thanks for bringing us to this series and adventure. Tftc Found after a rest in the shade, the heat is starting to take its toll.

Hi there BeechworthSC1. We found your cache "MMRT - Unfamiliar Territory" at 9:18:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 12295.
[Blue]
Today, instead of wearing our behinds off both ways on the rail trail, Ian rode the trail and Penny ferried the car to the planned finish point. We both enjoyed our roles in th cache run today. We placed a favourite point on the more "inventive" caches we found (hopefully remembering them all) & ended up logging 19 and DNF'ing 3 today.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing in the small ones, and a smiley badge wherever we could fit one.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Couldn't decide whether it was up or down, as our indicated GZ kept swapping between them. Checked out both levels, but had to give it away when it was taking too long. Our thanks anyway to BeechworthSC1.

Found with Snickersallan on our second trip to Albury this year. Long hard slog today, not as young as I used to be Wink

Enjoyed the adventure of coming down from Sydney with Bluewattle to attempt a few series in this area. The bike track was very easy to ride on and to get to most of the caches. Thanks CO for the great hides and TFTC Smile

I rode ahead of the tiring family and had found and logged this by the time they arrived (maybe 2 mins? Many miles to go to Beechworth!

We were out on this beautiful day on the trail from Beechworth with Poa4 to grab a few hides.
This series has been attempted by us in stages.Love the hides but with some questionable terrain ratings had us struggling a little.

It was a great day for a bike ride so thought it was time to come back and pick up the new caches that have been placed since we were last here. Liked the new camo. TFTC

TFTC. We dedicated that this morning would be ideal to walk a section of the rail trail and collect caches along the way.

Put my name in this one today while doing some maintenance for BSC.
The original container is still in place, but the camo has been fixed.

The school groups have not been out this way in a while. We WILL get to this cache as soon as possible. The staff involved with maintenance are dealing with car issues at the moment and are not able to get to GZ for the time being. Please refrain from archiving.

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.

Well we moved to Beechworth to dodge some of the heat, so what did we do today on our hottest day yet? Go caching of course [:o)]

We left the cat in the airconditioned comfort whilst we rode 26km in the heat [B)]

We decided to ride along about 1km at a time to the other end so we could take our time on the return journey. Wink stopping at the remainder of the caches.

Gotta have a plan you know. Wink

Well the plan sort of worked but it was soooo hot and we were getting a bit testy especially on the back of 2 DNF's which fast got closer to 6 DNF's but think that some were "did not function" rather than "did not find" Also there were a few we left with DNA "Did not attempt" by the end of the day anything that was not on the track, was way TOO hard for us. Red Face

So a long arduous day for us. Sooo hot, at least a little shade here. We found the camo then spread far and wide to find the cache.

Think this one needs checking on. We found the camo well away from the cache. Done the best we could to put back together but needs checking that it's all as intended.

We hit the bike trails today with plenty of caches still available for us to do. Warmer today which took a bit more out of us. Great scenery. Happily this was one of the caches we targetted and were able to get Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to BeechworthSC1 for placing this cache.

Found during an afternoon roll down to Everton with the geo-son. We missed about 13 caches along the trail on this occasion as it was too much fun just coasting along and I think I will tackle these on a future trip riding uphill. Many thanks BeechworthSC1

Nice hide!

My geomum, geodad and I went cycling along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and picked up caches along the way.

Thanks for placing caches along this trail BeechworthSC1.

We had teamed up with Alansee and The Drovers in Everton and planned 5 days of caching in this fantastic part of the world.

This one (MMRT), the HSS, the M2M and the High Voltage trail being the main reasons for our visit this time.

Day one, With bikes loaded we headed off to this section getting some from the car along the way.

With the weather on our side we had a great ride, although we did go the up hill way Sad and found most caches we attempted with only 3 DNF's all up and after a late lunch got a few more by car.

We understand the effort that must have gone into setting this up and the fun we had doing it deserves better than this generic log but with so many finds in one day we can not remember each one individually.
We can say we did enjoy finding the varied hides along this great part of the Rail Trail. Smile

To save time and not take up room on the logs we signed as ACDC
Alansee AC The Drovers Team Crackers. (Mainly because it sounded good.Smile )

Many thanks BeechworthSC1 for all the time, money and effort you put into this great series.

We will drop some favourite points on the ones we remember the most.

Met up with Team Crackers and Alansee, for 5 fantastic days of caching around Beechworth,
Myrtleford & Yackandandah. This was a very good trail for bike riding, which made the hunt
for the well hidden caches more enjoyable. The log was signed as ACDC.
Many thanks for placing this cache, BeechworthSC1, for us and others to find.

Sorry for the late log.
This was found on a weekend away with sorceysal and bogonghazy. Our aim was the hoops series and we added these into the mix whenever possible. bogonghazy did all the work for this one.
I will be back to complete this series with Tag-along in the not too distant future.

Another well made container to suit the cache, and a rare east find.
Thanks again BeechworthSC1

Since the weather was so good this weekend we decided to tackle a North East Rail trail.
The varieties of hides along here made for a really interesting ride and the sunny weather was great too.
Another quick find on the homeward leg.

Up this way to catch up with one of my cousins and chip away at a few caches in the area,
armed with loaded our GPS’s and enthusiasm we split the time between the two.
The caching proved interesting and varied with the types of hides found, Manny thanks to
BeechworthSC1 for the cache placement. TNLN SL

Slink1 had some family business up up this way so it was an opportunity to pick up some caches at the same time. GPS's loaded and filled with caches we havn't found we set off to make the trip worthwhile. Thats the best thing about geocaching - there is always some you haven't found. We had a great time and Slink1 did what he had to do too. Thanks to BeechworthSC1. TNLN SL

# 6292. Time to use some pedal power today and make an attack on these relatively new MMRT caches. We parked at the Quarry end and made our searches on the upward journey so we could have a rapid downhill run back to the car. Not a bad day on the bikes although the weather could have been a little kinder.

Our second find and soon spotted by Rob. Added our names and onwards we go.

Thanks BeechworthSC1

Got the deadly treadlies out for a ride up the trail from Everton to Baarmutha Station with BettyBoo3747.
The weather was a bit changeable, but we really only got some serious rain at the Water Stop where we stopped for some morning tea.
Nice and sunny for the short trip back down.
Not the kind of thing you would expect in this particular tree Smile
Thanks, Robmc.

[:(!] After church I went for an afternoon of caching with my two geograndsons (Mr Big Shot) and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to "E2B - Yellow Bike 200" - (GC36Y7F) and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

#764 Hit the rail trail today on the geobikes and rode from Mytleford to the edge of Beechworth and back to Everton, all up 51.5kms and of course grabbed a couple of caches along the way.

18 of 37 caches signed today. Excellent cache kids, worthy of a fav point.

We shared the rail trail with quite a few cyclists puffing their way to the top of the hill. Greetings exchanged we all carried on with our pursuits of the morning. Didn't take long to spot this one and SL at 11.03am - another favourite point awarded. #2119 TFTC BeechworthSC1 - we will just do one more before heading back to the GeoHilux and caravan!

*FTF*

After spending a day caching on Mt. Buffalo, the time had come to start the five hour drive for home. I was at the car park at the base of 'The Humps' and had a bite to eat and drink and a freshen up before packing the car and heading off. With the last glimpses of daylight gone, I drove down to Porepunkah where I stopped and thought I'd just have a quick check to see if any new caches were in the area. To my surprise a string of about 16 new caches had been published along the MMRT, not more than 20 minutes away in the direction I was heading.

I did contemplate bringing the bike with me today but at the last minute decided not to put it in the car. Wish I did now. I parked at a pine plantation and set out on foot, making my way down to the trail. From here I managed to find six caches, all FTF's, before it was time to get back on the road, leaving the rest of the unfound caches for another finder; that was hard but it was a long trip ahead still.

The coords were pretty spot on here, it just took a little while before I eventually spotted the cache. Seen a few of these before too. Well done and thanks BeechworthSC1.
