The Web Cam seems to be UTS.

Another one that has been on my list for a while. I used to have to time these but now that I have a mobile phone it is much easier. It looked as if the rain would hit for a while but it held off until later in the evening.

When I said SYC Astro thought I was in a town further north. I quickly corrected him. I was in Mexico and we were having the third of the day's four seasons. Image from Astro web cam shows a sad grey day. Image from Freddo phone cam is just as bad.

Well I got here! Setup a NEXT! sign made of computer printouts and a makeshift timber frame. Hard to move it too far from the car. It held together until the wind blows. It is in the bottom corner of the picture. I'm behind the sign and getting the picture.

It's one thing to have a bunch of caches loaded into the GPS, but it's another thing to know what's regular caches, or multis or webcams! After a bit of a search of the area and coming up with nothing, I had a hunch it was a webcam cache with it's proximity to the water.

So I contacted my good buddy Chippym and he confirmed it was a webcam cache and got onto the right web site. Special thanks to him for taking the pic.

If you are looking for the best fish and chips ever, try the shop opposite the sea baths down the road. They're unreal. Just what you need after a swim and a cache.

The line of silhouetted people is us! There's 8 of us in the shot. Thanks to chippym for the screen shot back home. This was our stop before heading home after spending time at the beach.

Yay! This is our first webcam cache!
It was dark, but we had torches! Makes it very easy to see us Big Grin. That's mini-PAQ-er waving the torch around. I'm sure there were some people in the club wondering what we were up to.

This is a work in progress, I visited today but the position of the big orange orb, made the camera not want to see me, I took a picture to prove I was there. I will return at a different time of day.

Until today this cache and others like it seemed to hard to set up and do. With new technology and a few bits and pieces we were able to finally put this cache into our done GSAK files.
After arriving at the listed coordinates we were having trouble with the web cam refreshing. After a call to Partic for help we were provided with much needed information and after waiting for set periods of time the Pics were captured.
We tried everything we could to bee seen including wearing the orange pants, however with low light it made it hard to see so I stood on the top rather than below where the truck was.
Many thanks Biggles for the cache, we might try another pic one day in the early morning just to compare.
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "Thought about doing this naked but it was a bit too cold or was it?" Clan.

My girlfriend reluctantly joined me on this geocaching quest. My mum was excited too, now she can see her son even when he's out geocaching.

See photo of The_Secret_Seven and Scooters Mob. I'm the good looking one on the left. Took us a while to find the right place to stand as the photographer "JC" was a bit vauge in his discription of the surroundings. That said we eventually figured out were the camera was... Big Grin

Secret_Seven and scooters mob found the cam after some trial and error. Still here we are. I'll let you judge who's the better looking one!!! LOL

TNLN obviously

Found it today lucky it wasn't a traditional cache as there was a boat show on and muggles every where
Thanks for the cache

Called Sikma to take the photo, after standing there for 10mins got the call back to say "all done". (That's me just behind the 2 boats).
Thanks Biggles Bear.

Went out here early in the morning and had my brother back home take the photo for me. I think this picture makes me look taller than I really am Razz.

Hi Biggles Bear
Our second web cam for today, on an outing with Oenze. His wife saved the snaps so you'll get the picture attached to his log. As I said on the other log, if you are wondering which one is me, I'm the good looking one!!!
After saying that you'll probably end up getting a cropped picture with just one bod in it.
Thanks indeed

Found by Bob at 14:00 (despite what the photo shows)

Our first webcam - not too impressed with the detail it shows Smile - that's me and my sister in the middle. I have my arm raised with my GPSr in hand, but you can't really tell. Haven't been to SYC for a long, long time, thanks for giving me a reason to revisit Biggles Bear

This was our 700th find and believe it or not we are in this photo and are signalling a 7. Thanks Biggles Bear

Oh what fun...

Camera was pointing to the carpark not the bay today. I've emailed the yacht club to let them know, so it should be fixed soon.

That didn't stop me though, and I worked out where to stand to hope to be able to be made out in the photo. I think it kind of worked.

Then to capture it from home, knowing the SYC page doesn't refresh, I created this page http://202.63.38.246/geocaching/syccam.htm to help. It refreshes each minute.

And then to capture it, I downloaded "Another Screen Capture Tool" which time lapsed the webcam over the hour it took me to get there. http://www.bhwhost.com/tcb_software/home.html

The results speak for themselves.

Time Lapse GIF http://202.63.38.246/geocaching/syccam24022005.gif (GIF's get converted to JPG on GC.com)

An added bonus was the spectacular sunset through the storm clouds.

Did this one on the way to a friend's birthday party in Hampton. Beautiful sunny Sunday ... (can hardly recognise myself!)

1st Webcam Cache. Nice windy morning with big waves for the kids to watch.

24-Oct-04
Since the web cam is only about 1.5km from home, I have been meaning to do this for some time. It was a beautiful Sunday morning so I asked my daughter Rached to do the honours at home and took Jessie our dalmatian (hopefully a good visibility object) and took up position at ground zero. Rachel did the "save as" and it was done. The time was 11:00am.
We continued our walk along the breakwater for a while, and then returned home to finish taking care of business.

Thanks Biggles.

Got to this on and with maccamob at home to take the 'photo' for us it was a sinch!!!

Thanks to BB as we did stay for a few minutes to watch the yacht club members in action out in the bay...

(and to mum and dad for taking the photo)

Found at 4:20pm. That's K & D in silhouette. "A" is also there but can't be seen in the dark. The weather had blown up a bit by this time so "H" had stayed in the car.
Thanks BB from D,H,K & A B-A.

This photo was just part of a fabulous day out with Emu-M. With daddy dak overseas, Emu-M and I had a girl's day out caching.Cool Even though dak's Emu Mob has already logged this, Emu-M hopped in the photo. Thanks to Mrs Emu (Emu-K) back home for snapping the picture for us. Big Grin

Caching with Uncle Jiffy we had to reply on Facitman (who was at work, poor him) to take the picture.
That's me on the left of the picture by the way, with Uncle Jiffy on the right. He has his own picture.
We only had the one towel that was bright enough to show up on a bit of a dark day, so I went up/down while he went left/right.
The camera only refreshes each 5 minutes, so standing there with arms in the air hanging on to a towel while the members at SYC look at you like you're loonies, can be very tiring.
As this cache hasn't been logged for a while, I'm glad to say that it's still active.
Thanks for a fun cache Biggles Bear.

06-Jul-04
Mmmmm I wonder what the people at yacht club are thinking as they watched myself and caughtatwork happily holding a large yellow towel in the air. Being 5 min between pictures sure means that you look like the local nutter while waiting for the camera to do its thing. Thanks to Facitman for doing the picture capture side of things.
In the picture I am the one on the left holding the yellow towel and caughtatwork is on the right. The others in the picture were passersby who tried not to make eye contact and hurried the kids passed. Caughtatwork has a similar picture with the towel in the up/down direction so we each have one of our own.

The morning was a magnificent, sunny (but windy) day. However, by the time we arrived at the coordinates in the afternoon, a storm was approaching, and the sun had gone behind the clouds five minutes before our arrival! Sad

We had brought a white bed sheet with us, so we displayed it, to the amusement of the members at the SYC. Emu-M had to use all her strength to hold it against the wind.

Then we thought: Wouldn't it be nice to get the Emu-VW into the act? The problem is that we are not members. So, we approached the Reception and asked them if we could infiltrate their car park for the purpose, and they agreed!

So, we again displayed the sheet, again to the amusement of the members on the sun deck. Two members even came out onto the terrace, although we suspect they were more interested in the approaching storm than the two loonies in their car park.

The sun was in the wrong place for this one, so the GeoQuacks can’t be seen very well in the photo, but we are there. Perhaps this one is better done in the morning. There was also some sort of party going on at the yacht club. This is our first webcam cache, and we wish that we were able to have done a better job. Thanks Biggles Bear.

Found the location at 1322. Was havingoblems with my friend at the other end. Never, repeat never, get a novice to take yourphoto. Eventually he got it right. Thanks Maurice. And thanks Muzza for being the backup photo taker.

Thanks for this one Biggles Bear.

Nothing quite like capering around on a flood-lit hillside on a wet winters night, waving lights at an unseen camera, all much to the bemusement of the bar patrons located in the bistro below the camera.
Thanks Smithereens for taking the photo!

Picture taken at 3:35pm (+1hr for daylight savings). I was holding up a large red towel, but it looks like the picture was taken just before I held it out.

Found by Mary & David at 1102. We went to 'Beach Cam' first, then visited this site as we headed back towards home. A beautiful warm day - 20 degrees by midday! Enjoyed the views of the bay and the many yachts in the marina. The camera angle has changed since the last visit by Nomads. Thanks to Biggles Bear for this one.

Found by Ray and Maya (Nomads) at 12:49PM on a cold and blustery Saturday afternoon. Just the kind of day to be standing in front of a WebCam in Square Dance attire. We were on our way to a dance in Dingley and we thought the colours in Maya's dress would stand out as our identifier, but even those are not clear in the pic. We managed to attract some attention at the site, though. Our thanks to Kjell for manning the internet to record our visit. Ray and Maya.

We took our dog (Casper) with us to help identify our presence but unfortunately he's only a little dog and is barely visible in the picture. He's the little white dot on our left, Greg and Bev

That's me flying the kite. It's a bit hard to see what's what - it looks almost like it was night time.

Thanks to Gazza back at work for saving the image.

Dashing Dog Mac went to this ingenious Cache site so that he would be visible to the known universe. Unfortunately he is only a small white blob in the attached photo from the WebCam. There was a very pleasant walk through a coastal reserve to the site - thanks to Patrizia for operating the other end of the phone and recording this for posterity.
