#6015 Found this on a walk around town with the geohounds whilst also completing an AdLab. Mrs BGF soon sussed out the hide once we got to gz. Nice hide here and an interesting looking musuem that is unfortunately currently closed for reno's. TFTC Ferret52.
We are on a caravanning trip around Australia and are doing a bit of caching along the way. We called into town to do a bit of shopping. After a walk around town we decided to get this cache to help with a challenge cache.Log book is full and container is missing an end. Thanks for the cache
Signed the only free bit of space on the log. Container needs a bit of maintenance, unfortunately I had nothing to assist with me
Great hiding place. Lovely day to be out caching. Yesterday I was here in Port Pirie for a singing gig and today is for caching! One end cap of container is missing and could do with a new log. Thank you, Ferret52; cache #4355.
With a leg up on the bench, we made a quick find. A lid is missing. After attending SAs Leap Year MEGA Event, Sandyofthesea and I headed north to Port Pirie for a free timed 5k Saturday morning run around Memorial Park. We found a few caches too.Ferret52, I found Former Port Pirie Railway Station today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the near future.
A few days in Port Pirie with the muggle Mrs exploring the town and seeking out whatever hides I can.
All caches were is good condition unless stated otherwise.
In between muggles the Adder knew where it was just in what place? In between muggles the ascent was made and the prize quickly in hand.
Thank you for the cache Ferret52 Find Number 10622 on 5/07/2023

Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling in the YP. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.

Initially searched in the wrong area with overcast and undercover deceiving my gps. The hint soon had me back on track and the cache was located promptly. TFTC!
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car! Thanks for the cache Ferret52!
Found on a previous visit to Port Pirie. Went to visit Telowie Gorge today and came back to Pirie for lunch only to find I had not logged it the first time. TFTC!
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we attempted a couple some caches after lunch. such a beautiful day to be out and about exploring after the last few days.

Found it. Forgot my pen again so had to walk back and get one before I could sign the log. Nice hiding spot. Got it straight away. Clue gave it away even though gps a bit off
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So I rounded the bay and started heading back down the Yorke Peninsula to check this part out.
So after relocating to Crystal Brook I am able to spend the whole day exploring especially after having to wait to get 4 new boots fitted to the Geocruiser so I spent the morning on foot walking around the main part of town.
The weather has definitely warmed up a lot as it is now in the very high 30’s so definitely need to keep hydrated.
Had two goes at this one and so after a DNF I happened met up with the CO about another cache and he told me that he replaced it so I went back to look for it.
So after finally locating the cache I added my name to the log and on to the next one.
A nice old station that has been put to good use in its second life.
Thanks Ferret52 TFTC.

Visiting family in Pirie, we took the morning to look around including through the museum which was pretty good. Certainly informative and full of great stuff. And bagged this nice little hide at the same time. Thanks for the cache.
A interesting old building here with lots of history, Davidwazza made the quick find here
After staying in Port Pirie last night, today Davidwazza and I set out to clean up port Pirie before making a long detour via Jamestown to gawler for an evening event. We had a few targets with a 2001 cache near Jamestown to collect and a few others. All up 68 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
This was a really cool place, and enjoyed our visit here. It was still early and the museum was closed, but at least it allowed us to find this cache free of muggles around. I searched as per the hint, and made the quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Ferret52 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

I've actually been up in what I suppose was going to be a clock tower on the top of the building on one of my earliest visits to Port Pirie. Was pretty obvious where this one was, but had to wait for a couple muggles going into the museum to clear out before we could make the grab. Thanks for the hide.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children.
In an effort to get to find #5000 at Millicent, we have to speed up and slow down our caching rate.
We set up camp in Port Pirie, and it started raining, so all caches were in and out and between showers...
Arrived just on closing time, so it was an easy find. Love the butcher cross the road
Thanks Ferret52

TFTC a very nice hide. Geo hubby Animal62 found this cache whilst I was on a mission to answer the questions of a multi.
Both log & container are in good condition, the log was dated & signed then returned to its hiding spot.
