Went for an evening stroll down here. Gave it a good search but DNF. GPS was jumping a bit as well.
It's been a while since I've been out geocaching and every time I've attempted this one, the tide was too high or Junior Geocacher hasn't quite lasted the distance. However, the today the stars aligned and we were off. The irony of GZ was that we stood at the exact spot about six weeks ago when out with friends and sheltering between the rain events. A quick find. TFTC.
Mrs HeMaLuDy was staying at Camp Morely along the beach, and this was the last unfound cache in the area. A nice quick find of the cache, retrieval was another matter. Definitely a stretch for this vertically challenged cacher. A neighbouring muggle (cat) was watching.
Des isch Easy xi drum bin i do xi. Bin auf Tour mit meiner Liebesmuggelin zum 60ger in NZ um nebenbei diese tollen Dosen zu erhaschen. Geocaching isch so Gsund do wirsch nümma rund! TFTC ! Danke fürs legen und pflegen dieser genialen Dosen..my wife has the best ayes
Found this one about 2 months ago but completely forgot to log it at the time!! Lucky we had a tall member in our geoclan! TFTC
Woof! Found it after a while. The dogs were patient (and pun intended at the beginning). Nice one!
#11655. We enjoyed our walk along the beach, and found the cache pretty quickly. TFTC.
After yesterdays rain, today's forecast looked a little better so we set out to explore the area west of Pukekohe, as well as Clark's Beach and Kingseat. We had some rain, mainly in the afternoon but not enough to curtail our caching activities too much, especially as we are leaving the Pukekohe area tomorrow.
We were a little apprehensive about the sign at the beach access point warning about the unstable cliff and keeping a 12m distance from the cliff face, especially as we were sure the cache retrieval would require close proximity. We lived to tell the tale! Noticed some new looking stairs right by GZ so ascended them, only to find that they lead to private property. TFTC.

1467 Had left Hamilton very early with the intention of having breakfast on the beach. This was the spot. Sat and ate my wheatbix and fruit while I scanned for the cache. As soon as I finished eating was able to grab and sign. Sat and enjoyed the view for awhile.
Spending some summer days at Clarks Beach. This one just a few 100 metres down the beach from us. So a pleasant stroll along the flats with the tide out. Might be a wee bit trickier if the tide was full.
A quick and straightforward find, true to hint and coordinates. Cache in order; log signed, all safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Not too much of a stretch for me, timed it just right as the tide was coming in, TFTC
On our way home from Waiuku this afternoon and thought we'd finally stop for this one. Parked and walked briefly along the shore, tide miles out. Got to GZ, spotted the cache and scrambled up. The rock i was standing on slid and being in jandals, i lost my footing, had a slight tumble and whacked my shin. No blood thankfully but cache retrieved and log signed. An easy reach for me, TFTC!
This was a bit of an adventure. There has been a lot of erosion of that and there has been digger work adding rocks to the cliff edge. The result of this was mud. The 10 year old sunk to over the top of his shoes on the way. Kids went off the explore while the mother searched. Glad there were a few natural handles to assist as not quite able to stretch to get this one. TFTC.
Staying at Camp Morley and went for a walk down the beach. Not only did I need to stretch but climb as well!

Needed to fill in a dot day & grab a 3.5T for our license. Love being able to kill 2 birds with one stone. Heading back home after visiting the family for the night I done a detour to Clark's Beach. Walked down to GZ with tide fully out, stretched a bit and signed the cache. TFTC.
We've had an awful caching afternoon around Clarks Beach, only 2 finds and 4 dnf's! We were ready to give up, and we went to where we were meant to be going (a bbq around the area). I had left the GPS on and saw that there was one more we could maybe attempt... it was only 125m away... and the tide just happens to be out... OK then, Mr F reluctantly agrees. The sun was going down rapidly, we didn't have boots but we could just squeeze through these tree roots so our feet didn't get wet, and ahh, we're here (now where?) GPS took us to a perfect spot, a couple of steps and a bit of monkeying about and the cache was in hand. Still not happy about our overall results today, but this was a lovely place to end with.
Tide had rapidly gone out for us to collect this one after doing a couple of caches further down the beach. We went on from here to get a geat feed of local fish and chips for lunch. [^] tftc
I was here at low tide so it was a nice walk along the beach and around the end of a large tree. Spotted the cache, climbed up and signed it - no stretch for me today.
Cheers for the cache.

Yay, I found this one first, but had to get Mrs stik-a-crane to retrieve.
Windy , but no rain yet, looks like it is coming though.

Still with the dogs in tow, or shall I say the other way round.... headed down the beach to this location.
Arrived at GZ and had just spotted the cache when mugglers came around the point... A quick check of the dogs, all ok, they had then passed and back to the business of cache retrieval.
Mrs Stik-a-crane did the honours... I had the 2 dogs.... whilst EIR-OT guided Mrs to the location.
TFTC.
Cool, wet, and windy today, but the dogs loved the walk.

I made sure the tide was out when I came by today. It was a little stretch, but I didn't have to leave the ground. TFTC.
forgot to check tides, lucky for us it was way out, so a nice walk to GZ and a while trying to find the container, once spotted one of our team monkeyed up to get it

Coordinates took me straight to it. Had to stretch again to replace the signed log as I couldn't possibly balance on my perch with no hands.
Today hoped to find enough caches to reach 3300 finds. Falling short of goal today as we were beaten by the rain, dark and the number of repairs we have done.

Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are a long way from home... We are pushing into Franklin District today and looking for caches to put towards some Geocaching Challenges... We also hope to reach some personal milestones too...
The day turned out to be more of a rescue mission. So many caches we visited required maintenance or total replacement. The state of some caches and the frequency in which maintenance was carried out by us was quite alarming. Luckily, we came prepared.
There were all sorts of possibilities with this hide. We really had to stretch to reach this one which was a lot out of my comfort zone. We rose to the challenge (pun intended). And then it started to rain... TFTC.

after a long walk down the beach starting at the cache at the opposite end of the beach and with the tide out I decide to try for this one ,,,with the wind bouncing my GSP on phone around and some quick searches in possible places I see another avenue .... make my way there and soon spot the "stretch" to the cache..i put my phone pen and car keys down in a safe place to attempt to get the cache in my hands - in doing so I turn around ..... OH HECK .... I spot the tree I had walked around on the sand is now lapping with water ... looking around I realise there is no alternative way out ...so logic prevails and I abandon the search in lieu of being able to make it back without a "swim or wade" ....I WILL RETURN - with the rest of the team to make a find on this one (and maybe my DNF at the other end of the beach also) ...
after a short walk , and a trip up in the sand and mud the cache was soon
found and added to the list of finds for the day

Great day to walk along the beach GPS took us right to GZ however being verticaly challenged we had to work for this one many thanks
Tide well out, just a lovely day for a walk on this lovely beach. Quick find & retrieve. TFTC
Thanks for bringing us here. Good being tall for caches like this. 3rd and 4th finds for this one. Cheers!
Didn't realise until we set off this was so new...in fact second to find. Tide was waaay out, so no trouble there, just muddy on approach around the corner. Didn't take long to find what we were looking for, thanks fmz
It's not often new caches pop up in my neighbourhood, and last time it happened, I was out of town. With two new caches published in one day, how could I resist? I turned on my GPS for the first time in two months, grabbed my gumboots (you're gonna want to wear gumboots) and torch and took a short stroll down the road.
I checked the tides at http://www.windfinder.com/tide/clarks_beach, so knew that wouldn't be an issue. Once at GZ, I soon noticed some dirt that was somewhere it shouldn't be, hinting at me to start searching in the vicinity. A short while later I had the cache in hand. I completed the formalities, then sat down and enjoyed the scenery. Dead quiet out here at night - all I could hear were the crickets and a few shore birds. Great views across to the city, from Titirangi to Manukau. Managed to spot a couple of satellites and a shooting star in the clear sky.
Also, if tides allow, check out the petrified tree at S37 08.006 E174 42.493. Onward to Clarks Picasso. FTF #66
