Day in Pirie with the kids picking up a few while we are here. First for the day. Tftc
Gotta say the shark experience as well worth doing while hereNearly left without checking for hide. Thankfully looked before we got too far quick find TFC.
Up here for work, thanks to crowdstrike. Out and about after the work day was done.Nice easy find.TFTC SL
Tried this one back in 2013. Back in Pirie with my granddaughter and missus to see Shakka. TFTC
Found late in the day once the VUC was closed. Also found my missing answer for the AL! Thank you, Ferret52; cache #4364.
Got this one after seeing the shark 3D display in the tourism centre. $10 well spent. TFTC
This one had be puzzled as my iPhone app took me up the side alley, which turned out to be the wrong place. I got a photo of interesting fence posts though so it wasnt a waste. Once I PAF and got in The right I was stunned to spy it straight away. Signed the log and placed it back where I found it. Will contact the CO as I think it was in the wrong place.
A nice quick find. Looks like PP is getting some electric chargers. Good to see the different rail gauges on the ramp too. After attending SAs Leap Year MEGA Event, Sandyofthesea and I headed north to Port Pirie for a free timed 5k Saturday morning run around Memorial Park. We found a few caches too.Ferret52, I found Another Former Port Pirie Railway Station today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the near future.
We are ion South Australia for the leap Year Mega. After an early start from our overnight accommodation, we set off to find the caches on our target list. All caches were found and signed as "5 for QLD" for our traveling group of hatzofff (myself), RoddyC, Imbunda, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947.Today we target some geo art and other caches. Loving the area, but it is very hot and quite windy today.
An early morning start after our overnight stay. I am traveling with my friends, hatzofff, RoddyC, Snickersallan and grannysmith1947. We are signing all logs as "5 for QLD" to save space. All caches were found, signed and replaced as foundAfter some early caches and an event we headed off to some special geoart and an overnight stay before heading back to Adelaide for the start of the Mega. Today has been one of the hottest and windiest we have had so far. [:(!] Here's hoping Adelaide will be a bit cooler tomorrow.
A Leap Year Mega draws us to Adelaide. Today's our intrepid group has our third day in South AustraliaWe are using the Acronym 6 for QLD to sign the log sheets. Most of the caches this day were nice quick finds. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 27th February 2024. TFTC, Ferret52.
TFTC smile 18753 Out and about on a lovely day Having a great time finding a few caches heading to Adelaide for a few weeks then on our way to Canberra . Signing as 5 for QLD - Hatzofff Snickersallan RoddyC Imbunda. What a great team we made and lots of laughter and fun. Lots of caches to get today, and it was hot and windy at the geo art Thank you Ferret52 for placing this cache for our enjoyment [:X]
On our way through to the Great Leap Mega Event and grabbing caches as we go.Only had time for a cache or two as still had to get to our free camp for the night.TFTC
Over at Port Pirie for our Anniversary Australia Day long weekend. Today we stayed around Port Pirie to tackle the caches in and around town A quick find here as the Tourist Centre was closed so no pesky muggles! TFTC
as we wander through the land, grabbing caches and seeing the sights even occasionally catching up with friends A good day was had while grabbing these caches with lots of miles covered Thanks for placing them *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Out exploring. Having a good day *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Away for a few days to try and clean out Yorke Peninsula. I stayed in Moonta and went in all directions.
Today was was a drive up to Port Pirie to try and find a long time DNF as well as a few south of Port Pirie. There was also a couple of Lab Caches to be done.
Finally I can cross this one off. And it was an easy find. Not sure what I was doing on previous visits.

A few days in Port Pirie with the muggle Mrs exploring the town and seeking out whatever hides I can.
All caches were is good condition unless stated otherwise.
A return visit to GZ after a thorough search the day before while muggle Mrs was exploring the information centre. Contact was made with the owner re another of his hides and we mentioned that we could not find this one. He advised us as to exactly where it should have been but alas the hidey hole was empty. We took the liberty of replacing it for him.
TFTC and the search.

Unfortunately we had no luck with this one, We searched obvious places but with the muggles coming and going we had to make each attempt short
Southern Autumn adventure Day 35. Mid North section of SA trip Day 6. Port Pirie area Day 1. My first day here and I started caching with a short drive to the north to visit Weeroona Island. After a few along the way back I started a caching loop of the outskirts of Pt Pirie. A mixture of undeveloped spaces and spaces that once used to be other things. This was highlighted by the old railway stations LABs I did to finish the day, before heading into town for dinner at a very modern pub.
I am not sure there are five places to look for this one, but it took at least that many before I went to the right spot and located this cache.
Thanks for the cache Ferret52

Pick up Detofinbars this morning with a trip to Port Pirie for Podiatrist appointment and then onto Wilmington to pick up trees from a trees for life grower. We were getting caches along the way and had a fantastic day. TFTC
Following up from a previous DNF this was a quick in and out after finding the replacement. Tftc.
No luck for us here today. first of 2 dnf's that were found by others only a few days ago. Obviously our caching eyes were only painted on today.
Out with Normanville & her little grandson to complete the 2 AL’s whilst staying at Port Broughton. Rather a warm day. Not a mint tin. Small film container, however thanks for placing.
Another caching holiday with ricklink. We stopped here to collect our smilie. Thanks Ferret2.
Too good for us. Four pairs of eyes and hands on this but we couldn’t reveal the cache.
The sun is shining on our last full caching day in Port Pirie. Out with iluvtrekking grabbing the last of the straggler caches. We made a find here. Thanks for the hide.
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car! Thanks for the cache Ferret52!
Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So I rounded the bay and started heading back down the Yorke Peninsula to check this part out.
So after relocating to Crystal Brook I am able to spend the whole day exploring especially after having to wait to get 4 new boots fitted to the Geocruiser so I spent the morning on foot walking around the main part of town.
The weather has definitely warmed up a lot as it is now in the very high 30’s so definitely need to keep hydrated.
Heading back to pick up the Geocruiser I called in here again.
I should have just kept on walking the last time I was here and I would have picked up all three caches at once.
Well this is one station platform that I can say that I have walked from one end to the other and it is a long platform.
So after finally locating the cache I added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks Ferret52 TFTC.

I came to Port Pirie by train with my nan circa 1974. Is this where we got off the train? One last find in PP before rejoining the highway. The lid is detachable from the cache now but the log is dry. Thanks for placing!
Three weeks on the road for a family holiday to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon amongst other cool destinations had us traveling all over the place. We had a great time and the weather was extremely hot with bushfires that actually prevented us from going to some destinations.
We stayed in Coober Pedy the previous night before continuing on our journey back home. Today we made our way to Port Pirie where we stayed the night and I managed to duck out to find this nearby cache.
Thanks for the cache.

TFTC. Despite coordinates pointing us to the roof we managed to find this a little lower to ground level. Took a couple of minutes but we nailed it!
This took way longer than it needed to. I was amazed at the poles holding up the hand rail which were kinda cool.
We went to search for it and nothing in the logical spots, finally I Manfred to find the cache on the ground. Replaced in a better hiding spot
After staying in Port Pirie last night, today Davidwazza and I set out to clean up port Pirie before making a long detour via Jamestown to gawler for an evening event. We had a few targets with a 2001 cache near Jamestown to collect and a few others. All up 68 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
This was a cool spot, and we enjoyed the old railway pieces and nails making up the handrail towers. We spent a bit of time searching for this one, and were not having much luck. It turns out that it just wasn’t hidden, and had fallen on the ground. Those sort of hides always seems to puzzle us. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Ferret52 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

On the way to Millicent Mega and detour and signed the log as EV and thanks for the cache and hide

I've been to the visitor center many times in my travels to Port Pirie over the past 20 years. Was pleased to see a placement nearby, but just simply couldn't put my hands on this one. No love here today, but thanks for the hide, just the same. My GPS kept putting me right beside the building, and I figured if we hung out there too much longer, SAPD was gonna get called. Don't mind urban hides, but right up against buildings and in flower beds are not my favorites. Thanks just the same.
No joy on this one today.

Kidnapped by Mattycat for a afternoon of fun after work, noticing some caches had been maintained we headed north, as it was after closing time decided to make this one our first stop, cache was in the first spot we checked that's always a good start, used to work out of the station in the mid 80s for a few weeks in a rolling relief work roster

A nice quick find early on Remembrance Day 2019 at 08:46 after a Maccas Brekky [:p]
Hardly a soul around as i made the stealthy find and re-hide [^] {admittedly the CO's log was a handy hint in making the find swift }

Checked cache, it is still there. You can walk between the temporary fencing and the ramp to access the GZ.
Spent the day in Port Pirie finding caches.
Unfortunately unable to get this one, as GZ area was fenced off for building maintenance or something.
Thanks anyway for bringing us here.

Found whilst spending time in Port Pirie today, hubby has to get new tyres so we can continue our journey home. The 8000km we have done in the outback has taken its toll on our tyres. So I decided a nice long walk and some geocaching was in order. We are in week 5 of our 5 week outback adventure heading home to NSW. Tftc
Random geocaching on our 4 month road trip Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania Adelaide, Alice Springs and back to Perth with Tessplus3, Hippo380, The Great Patrini (TGP)& Bellarina. TFTC
97th official day of our Australia Lap. With UMeHedgiE, Hippo380, the Great Patrini and Bellarina.
In pirie for the night so grabbing a few caches before dark. Not much activity in town on good friday. Thanks for showing us this interesting building. TFTC!
Hi there Ferret52. This cache was found on a day out caching and touring about Port Pirie. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to Ferret52 for this cache - our find # 6235.
Found with Josan08. One of those rare moments when my height or lack of is actually an advantage.TFTC.
Touring the town centre this morning,
I headed for this station once again.
Last time I missed the cache ... and any trains
Today I arrived with plenty of time to spare ...
... waiting for a gap in the muggle parade !!
A chance came and I stuck me paw somewhere likely to hide a cache,
or spider [:o]
Me luck was in !!

A little bad timing on the arrival at this one, as a bus pulled in just after us, so this meant we had to wait a little for the muggles to disperse. JandI18 came up with the find for us using stealth and their smaller statue to their advantage.

Got away for a night so we could do a hike that happened to be in the same park that Jay Wetherall was being carried out of on a stretcher. We saw all the emergency vehicles and had no idea what was going on. Anyway the hike was good, only damage was I dropped the iPad and busted the screen. Found lots of eclipse tins and one medium size cache. We had fun exploring our old stomping ground.
