The highest elevation in Bucks county PA, is along the Bucks/Lehigh border. On Nemeth Road at the markers for the county line you can find the elevation marker. Pretty much a drive-up. Thanks!

I just learned how to walk a couple of weeks ago, and have decided that I do not need the stroller anymore. I insisted on walking for about the for .3 miles before I discovered that I'm not very good at walking up steep hills. I made my mama walk the last .4 miles stooped over so she could help me climb up the steep parts.

When we got to the flat part near the summit, I grabbed her GPS. I've been tagging along when she geocaches for the last 4 months and I know how it works. I walked around a lot and poked at the oak leaves on the ground while looking at the gps. Finally we found a box with a notebook and a stone cairn. I let mama take a picture before we went to look at the overview.

On the way down, I was tired, so I let her put me in the stroller. It was a lot of fun rolling down the trails. There was a cemetery on the way out, and I got worried when my aunt went to fix a few of the flower vases that had blown over. I also wanted to go look at the outhouses with my aunt, but my mama wouldn't let me.

Although I grew up near here, and worked about 6 miles from here while in college, I never went. Although most northwest Louisiana school kids can tell you that we have the state's highest point, a lot aren't sure exactly where it is, aside from somewhere in Bienville Parish. Mount Driskill is 535 feet above sea level, and is the third lowest state high point in the United States.

I was pretty exhausted by the time we made it to the summit. Ginormobaby refused to sit in the stroller or be carried. Normally, he's fine with riding on my back, but we didn't have room for the backpack carrier on our way down from DC. I took a nice long rest at the top, while I scanned the log book. I noticed the last entry was written in Russian and was also dated today.

When I went to take a few pictures at the overlook, we ran into a couple. She was a local who had married a Russian missionary. It was close to sunset, but I had forgotten to bring a flashlight with me, so we headed back down the trail. Ginormobaby really wanted to go play in the outhouses near the parking lot.

The highest point in Cass County Nebraska is at or near N40º 48.985’ W96º 26.435’ and 1374 feet. I used Bob Martin’s ascent report http://www.cohp.org/ne/Cass_1.html and double checked with topo maps from MapTech http://mapserver.maptech.com. I then used the Elevation Query Tool at UGS Seamless website http://seamless.usgs.gov/website/seamless/viewer.php to locate the highest point within the seven locations on the topo map over 1370 feet, just off Wulf Street. Next I drove to the site and “eye-balled†the highest point. Just before sunset I shot (and later assembled) the panorama at the site. I also shot a flash picture of my GPSr.

Looks like multiple logs were allowed, so here are some shots of one of my visits to Jerimoth Hill, highest point in Rhode Island and Providence County.

Found this at night after completing the Ozark Moutain Challenge. This High-Point is atop White Rock Mountain in Franklin County, Arkansas north of Ozark. This is one of my all time favorite places to go for sight seeing and leisure since I was a kid. The elevation is 2,260 feet above sea level.

White Rock Mountain gets it's name from the sheer bluffs that are covered with lichen that make it look white in the distance. The bluffs have claimed several lives over the years from people being inattentive and careless to the occasional rappelers that come here. I can boast a few successful rappels from here with no casualties.

The only pictures I can post were taken at dark and you can't see a thing, but in the daytime it is a beautiful place. I will post a picture of the Forest Service Map at the info. center. A rock fire tower used for reporting wildfires is close by, but has not been used in a while.

Thanks for a great cache and the time you put into it. It's truly a shame that GC.com is taking it away.

I visited the highest point in Levy County, FL on CR 464, as researched through the Trip Report on the County Highpointers Association website. The site has changed a bit since the report was done in 1999. It's still WAAYYY out in the country, but someone has started to build in the area, and a part of the "highpoint" area is now fenced.

Don't be disappointed in the views. Remember, this is Florida..."highest points" just aren't that high. Big Grin

Looking for the highpoint of Lee County in North Carolina, I went to the coordinates posted in 2003. They put me in the parking lot of a railroad depot/museum and, I could not see the water tower he described. Perhaps it is no longer there. My GPS described the elevation at about 350 feet. Then I noticed that the ground seemed to go uphill towards the south, so I started walking...

The highest point I could find based on my senses and my GPS was on Wicker St. between S. Steele St. and N. Moore St. Per my GPS the elevation was approx. 400 ft.

23-Dec-05
San Mateo County, California, USA.

I missed out on the official visit to this site last weekend since I was up in SF for a company thing.

A few new caches popped up near here so I pulled in my hike from next week to today. As posted earlier this site is well posted private property so this is as close as you can get legally unless guided by an Open Space representative. What was funny is that after I got to the top of the trail the owner of the property was there with his wife and friends. I didn't bother asking to go up to the official spot since they had endured a large crowd last weekend. So my log consists of photos of me and my gpsr within 438 feet of the highpoint at an elevation of 2486 feet and then some long distance views of the house that sits on the highpoint now.

Thank you very much for a really cool cache, I was able to get Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Marin and Contra Costa counties but I think this may be my last log before this cache sadly goes away.

Highest lumbered hill in Tulsa County. It is owned by Mr. Van Syke who lives in Illinois. The lead is leased by an oil company and is in charge of a Mr. Hart who lives about 100 yards N-NE of the oil well. This hill also contains a large transmission tower and station on the highest point of the hill.

What is odd is that this is listed as a Tulsa city park and city crews maintain the park but it is entirely fences off with no public access.

The altitude at the top is 932 feet. There is also a benchmark somewhere on this property but no one has logged it because there is no access to the area.

Setting a challenge for myself, I poured over at least six maps and found a place in Salem County, New Jersey, called Coffin Hill - elevation 122 feet (one foot higher than the second highest place in the county - Big Mannington Hill).

Coffin Hill is shown in the "DeLorme New Jersey Atlas and Gazetteer" as being just along Gravely Road, less than a half-mile from Stow Creek - the boundry line with Cumberland County. I set off this morning to find this much elevated spot (I live at a spot where we enjoy only 47 feet of elevation) and all the while hoping it would be accessable.

Much to my delight, I drove to within 50 feet of the spot. We who live in southern New Jersey think very little about elevation - afterall, almost everyone can see the horizon from the top of a tuna-fish can. Nevertheless, being on Coffin Hill this morning offered another one of those geocache thrills - "I'm here knowing what I know and no one else cares!"

What could they care about you ask? This my dear friend. The fact of the matter is . . . Coffin Hill is not 122 feet, at least not if my GPS was working properly. "Dah - Dah!" Fanfare, please . . . Coffin Hill is 126 feet high.

Contra Costa County, CA Highpoint -- Mt. Diablo, elevation 3849 feet.

After having done the Marin County Highpoint in driving rain and wind earlier in the day, Nazgul and I were treated to a beautiful view at this highpoint 37 miles away as the crow flies. Since I was soaked through from the hike to Mt. Tamalpias the wind was cold but not as strong as on Mt Tam.

I was able to get a picture of a cool atmospheric event that I haven't seen before when the light appeared to refract off of the clouds and project into the valley below.

This is certainly my favorite highpoint to date, we had amazing 360 degree views to the Sierras and the entire Bay Area.

Mount Diablo, Contra Costa County, California USA highpoint.

After Mt. Tam, bullit and I drove over here to do this highpoint, and neither of us had ever been up here before. We were rather soaked from the weather on Tam, with bullit in shorts(!) and his alleged rain jacket having soaked through. I had worn my gortex jacket but not my gortex pants so my jeans were soaked, which is always a lovely feeling [xx(] and as soon as we stepped out of the Jeep into the cold wind here were started freezing our butts off. The skies were cloudy but it was much clearer here with no rain, but it was still very windy and the cold actually made this less comfortable than my recent visits to Tam or Long Ridge in stormy weather.

The views here are spectacular! Even while we were frezing, and with the park closing soon, we still spent as much time as we could enjoying the view and snapping pictures.

My GPS hit a max of 3,847' here atop the building which is used for observation, surveying, and as an air beacon.

I set off a hunt of a geocaching. It was new snowfall, first in this year. I was´t successul in the hunt, but it was a nice cross country skiing trip on the hill top Velký (Big) Lopeník. It is the hill in the mountains Bílé (White) Karpaty. Its elevation is 911 m above sea-level. Bílé Karpaty coextensive on the border between Czch and Slovak Republic. I had FTF, because I did a snowtrack in the new snow.

Mt. Davidson, highpoint of San Francisco County, California, USA.

Like bullit said in his log, the views here were great, much beter than I had been expecting really. I'd been meaning to come up here for years but today was my first time here. The area around the cross was the setting for one of the scenes in the original "Dirty Harry" movie.

I could never find the highest point in Tulsa County until today. I had just downloaded Google Earth and realized it gave the altitude. I scanned Tulsa County and came up with the highest point of 1008’, located east of Mannford and west of Sandsprings,OK in the far west corner of the county. On Google it said it was 968’ but my GPSr read 1008’. It seemed to have no particular name but a church at the top was called Stone Ridge. How fitting that the Stoneposse found it. As with many caches I took the long way in and the short easy way out. I drove a winding hilly road for 30 minutes only to find a highway ran almost right to the point. The spot was somewhat disappointing. When I got to the top I couldn’t see anything below me. Trees and the fact that it was a very wide plateau made it impossible. The views were all on private property but were lower in altitude. The Arkansas River was just to my north and I couldn’t see it. As I drove down the hill I finally could see the tallest buildings in downtown Tulsa at 760’ altitude. TFTC

This is located in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Not only is it the highest point in the county... It is on top of Mt. Davis or Mt. Negro, both are correct names for the location. I think that it was during the Civil War that a black Sgt. saved the entire company from being totally wiped out, but he was shot in doing so. The officers did not know his name, so they dedicated the Mountain to him. It is also the highest point in PA... The sign says that it has an elevation of 3213 ft. Well it was snowing and the wind was blowing really hard up there.

Thanks for the hunt, that makes kill #191 for us.

Dodge County, Wisconsin USA.
Nenno. Researched the following website to find out that Nenno is the highpoint for Dodge county: http://www.geography.wisc.edu/sco/maps/cntyelevation.php
My daughter and I drove around this small country village of Nenno and found exactly what we were looking for. Elevation is 1230, my GPS'r read just under that. The church is called Jesus Our Shepherd of Parish. There is a cemetery in the backyard (uphill) of the church. Next door is a Wedding Garden. Enjoy the pictures.

This is the home location of this wonderful cache. The county is San Francisco in California. Nazgul and I decided to do a day in which we just targeted locationless caches. I ended up with four which isn't too bad. Next trip we will be heading up to Marin.

This was a nice short hike up to Mt. Davidson. The cross is quite an impressive structure. The views were pretty amazing away from the highpoint, lots of cool stuff to be seen: Sutro tower, SF, Tamalpias among others.

Thanks for bringing us up here!

This highpoint is for Henry County Indiana, and is located at the far eastern part of the county. I found the highpoint (listed as area 6) on the internet here http://www.cohp.org/in/Henry_1.html According to this website there are several highpoints in Henry County Indiana, all at 1190 feet. My GPS read just a few feet short of that. Really, there's not much to see here, just a couple of snow covered fields. Pretty much like the rest of the county.

This is the highpoint in Santa Cruz County, CA. We came up on our 12th annual Xmas tree cutting trip. It was an easy mini hike to get to the Benchmark: HT3273 which also marks the highpoint in the county. There is an FAA radio installation nearby and a fire lookout that is another Benchmark(HT3272). GPSr shows 3234 feet elevation while the survey team reports Altitude: 3233.6... wow that's a pretty good correlation if ya ask me. Thanks!

This one is located north of Fredericksburg Texas and was once used as a Smoke Signal Hill by the American Indians. It is a heck of a climb to the top with an elevation of around 1750 feet.
In the 30's a farmer bought it and found a cross at the top dating back to the days the Indians used it. He had a 50 foot cross erected on the top that lights at night.

The photos enclosed we took on our adventure tour through the amazing Costa Rica. It marks the highest point of the famous Panamericana interstate highway between Alaska and Tierra del Fuego (Feuerland) with an altitude of about 3350 meters above sea level at the coordinates N09 34.516 W083 45.525. Really enjoyed crossing this amazing landscape. Pura vida and thanks for this cache - SaRa – Sabine + Rainer, from Munich, Germany

The summit of "Ma On Shan", in Hong Kong. At 702m (2303ft) ASL, it is the highest point in Sai Kung, and the fourth highest (I believe) point in Hong Kong.
I placed a cache below the peak of Ma On Shan today (the last few hundred vertical feet before the top are pretty steep and dangerous). Took pictures from the marker and in 4 directions, although the visibility wasn't particularly good.
Thanks for a good idea for a cache, and a great workout!

Found a listing on the internet http://cohp.org/fl/Volusia_1.html that described the highest point in Volusia County, located on SR-15A just off of US-17 north of DeLand, Florida, this just happens to be less than a mile from my house so I figured I better grab it. The elevation for the HP is 121' but I would have to go on to private property to obtain the actual spot and no one was home so I took the picture from the property line, were I was standing the elevation was 115' and the HP was behind me.
Thanks for the hunt

Determining the highpoint of Hockley County Texas is NOT an easy accomplishment. Why you might ask? The name of the county seat, Levelland, explains it all.

Located high on the Balcones Escarpment or more commonly called The Caprock part of West Texas the terrain allows one to sees far as 50 miles at night. The lack of humid air enables allows the lights of distant town to glimmer in the distance.

Home to warm hearted and friendly folks of true southern hospitality and openness.

The area is often wind blown and the day we were there for this photo op exhibited a wind/sand storm of a proportion that had not been seen in several years.

In an area dotted by oil wells and cotton fields there are few geological features. By reading the TOPO and MapSource topo maps it became evident the high point was along a topo line in the northwest corner of the state. It appeared the elevation would be in the neighborhood of 3691 MSL.

In a vicious sandstorm we located the ridge and climbed atop the berm at the barrow ditch and the GPSr read 3705 MSL. That is the photo that we took.

We took pics in the four cardinal direction but they are rather boring.

High Point in Sussex County NJ. Elevation is over 1800'. Got here doing virtual cache GC5A96 on a caching trip to PA/NY & NJ. It was freezing out temp was about 10 degrees but once we got to the tower the wind was blowing like crazy and I'm sure the wind chill was below zero.

The highest point in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany is the Bungsberg nearby Schoenewald (Baltic Sea). It's over 186 Meter (nearly 610 feet) over sea level. On top there is a big radio tower with a viewing platform and a breathless view over the landscape. In wintertime you can find the first and only ski-lift in Schleswig-Holstein.

Fayette Co, KY. Evelation 1094 ft. The picture of the cords has 1092 ft. but I count the highest as the point. I guess being a high point was why a tower was erected at this spot. The view is not something to write home about. I did enjoy, however, reading some of the other logs. Looks like a lot of fun places to go see. Don't come to Fayette Co, KY to see this high spot, you will waste your gas! Although there are lots of other nice places and things to see in Fayette Co, KY "The Horse Capital of The World"!

My wife and I decided to visit this historic and fun place today since the place had not been claimed as a locationless. As we neared the intersection for the Mount we turned on to Tower Road. We drove up and up and up and came to a clearing. Located on the clearing was a Comcast Cell Tower. I looked at the elevation of my GPS and found it to be 342 feet above sea level. Arneys Mount is not even 300 feet. This is the highest spot in the county. Yahoo - A new place.

Platte County, Missouri (near DeKalb)
Russ and I had some business at the Platte County Courthouse, so when Russ went to take care of the mundane, I went to the Planning and Zoning office and said I had the quiz for them Smile. They were up to the challenge, and four of the staff junped right in and brought out the topo maps of the county, and started searching to locate the highpoint. They found it in short order, then also told me the best route to take to get there. So they passed!
The trip to the highpoint involved traversing many gravel farm roads until I reached the destination. The actual highpoint of 1192 feet could not be accessed because it was on private property, so I took a pic from the road at an elevation of 1170 feet. The highpont is located near Fairview Road (very appropriate).

Brasstown Bald, at 4784', is the highest point in Georgia (and also of two Georgia counties). There is an observation tower and museum at the peak. You are not allowed to drive all the way to the top; instead you must park in a lot about 0.6 mile from and 600 feet lower than the top. From the lot, you may either ride a bus or hike to the top (we hiked). Had good visibility and a great view today. TFTC.

Found the highpoint of Marshall County in Alabama. It is on top of Gunters Mountain and is just over 1380' ASL. You can drive to within 100' of the highpoint, which is along the edge of a cemetery. There are many old graves in this well kept cemetery (the New Prospect Cemetery), and we took some extra time to look at some of the headstones. Thanks for the cache.

Found this highpoint - "Store Hørbyhøj" - 17 km. west to Silkeborg in Denmark. The attitude is 131 m. over sea-level, but it's the highest point in "Ringkøbing County", because the western part of Denmark close to the North-sea is very low-landed.

It took a long search to find out what the highest mountain was in our region. As Holland is very flat a height of 44 metres is quit a lot. We found the highest point after searching the net. We found an article of W.G. Hulsman decribing the bench on the highest point of Brabant of which one half is situated in Holland and the other half in Belgium. There is even an old bordermark as you can see on the pictures. Very nice cache as it made us wander through our very own province.

Mt. Scott is the highest point in Comanche county, Oklahoma with an elevation of 2464'. It is located just north of Fort Sill Army base. Mt. Scott is in the Wichita Mountains. Mt. Scott's view overlooks Lake Lawtonka, Lake Elmer Thomas and the city of Medicine Park. If you are into rock climbing this is the place for you. Fantastic views in all directions. A few miles to the north of Mt. Scott is the small town of Meers in which you get a great hamburger that is big enough for two.

Naomi Peak is the high point for Cache County Utah. We thought it most appropriate that we log this cache in Cache County.
The hike up is modest, the views are outstanding.

Stone Mountain Georgia, highest point in Dekalb County, used for observation by Confederate Troops during the American Civil War.

Uitkyk Kop (or Lookout Peak in English) is the highest point in the Overberg Region, Western Cape, South Africa. We live in the small village of Greyton nearby and one can see the peak from our home. The peak is often snow and cloud covered in winter. The peak is at an altitude of 1466 metres. We have climbed the peak a few times and have placed a traditional cache at the summit.

It's the Krugberg, the highest Highpoint in the Region "Märkische Schweiz" east of Berlin, near Buckow, where I grew up. There we find a nice but very flat area, so the 129m of Krugberg are the top. There is a fire-watching tower on the summit (just in reconstruction), from wich you can see the TV-Tower of Berlin (more than 60km) as well as the Polish Border.

Not only the high point in Kimball County, but at 5424 feet, it is the highest point in all of Nebraska! Known as Panorama Point, it is very close to where the corners of Nebraska and Wyoming meet the Colorado state line, and all three states can be viewed from this spot. Buffalo are known to roam here, but we didn't see any today.

A fine day on top of the highest mountain around. This is Moyie Mountain near the village of Moyie, British Columbia.
A forestry lookout was located at the top but new technologies have replaced the lookout. The mountain is now used for communication towers. Although it is quite barren here we did see glacier lilies on the day we visited. Also found a geodetic survey marker.
Elevation 2081 meters.

We were on a tour from the UK during which we travelled over a significant part of Peru. During this leg of the journey we were on the highest part of our tour and stopped for photos. The large group in the photo only included one geocaching team though we may well have recruited some new members. A few days before this we were on the Amazon and experienced a 7.2 earthquake which was quite moving.
The location was in the state of Puno in Peru. The stated altitude on the sign is 4335m but the GPS stated 4361m.

Mount Humphreys is north of Flagstaff, AZ and is not only the highest point in Coconino County, but also the highest point in Arizona at 12,633. Mount Humphreys is named for General A.A. Humphreys, former chief of the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Nine of us from Sierra Vista, AZ, near the Mexican border, drove to Flagstaff in Northern Arizona to make the ascent. The hike starts at the Snowbowl (yes, there is skiing in AZ) Starting altitude is about 9,500 feet so the ascent is substantial over about 4+ miles. There were at least 3 false summits, which made the hike "moralely" challenging.

The top is rocky (above the tree line) and windy with little green gnat-like bugs that kept getting into our wine and on our cheese. Yuk! There is a log book at the top which I signed as, AZtravelers.

The 360 degree view from the top includes the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Mogillion Rim and other mountains in the San Francisco peaks.

The hike is quite popular. We exchanged hellos with people from Australia, Germany, and others with a variety of languages. Must have been over 200 folks on the mountain trail that day.

Mill Hill, Montgomery County PA, Between 700 & 710 ft.

This is a nice hike of about 400 meters and 210 elevation gain from the parking spot I chose. Parking was legal and the land, although privately held, is open for public use. There were some interesting diggings along my route and some nice rock formations. The area near the top is worthy of a standard geocache. I believe the actual highest point on the ridge is between two cedar trees, one dead and one still living.

We hiked up to Roan High Knob in Carter County, TN while section hiking along the Appalachian Trail. We camped at the campsite here... 6,285 feet above sea level.

The highest point in Steuben County, Indiana, USA. Topo maps say 1190 feet, but our GPSr said 1250 feet. Quick drive up a gravel drive way leads to a radio tower and a small woodlot next to it. The best part.. it's only 1/2 mile from home!

The higest point of Noordholland, a province in the northwest of the netherlands.

The place is called: "Het Kopje van Bloemendaal" in the village Bloemendaal near Haarlem. It is only 58 meters above sealevel! The most of the suroundings is under sealevel.

On top of this dune there is a concrete watchtower and some restaurants.

Mt. Lycabettos is found in central Athens, Greece and although not high in relation to the mountains surrounding Athens, it is the high point in the center of the city. At the top there is a chapel and a restaurant, and amazing views over the city from all directions. Height is 280 meters. One can walk up to the top, or can climb the hill with shops and restaurants, to the funicular railway and take a ride to the top.

This is in Carbon County, Utah. It is listed at 10,452. As far as highpoints in Utah go I feel kind of guilty because this is a very easy one, you can drive right to it. However, compared to some of those in the south east (mississippi, louisiana) it is extremely high, and lowers my guilt level Smile

This is Mt Buninyong in Victoria, Australia. The pictures contain the plaque at the top with all of the mountain's details and a view from the top. There is also a fire spotting tower, but I have used this in another locationless cache

This is Copernicus Peak which at elevation 4372 feet is the highest point in Santa Clara County, California. The fire lookout tower marks the spot. Unfortunately it is closed off to the public now so this was as close as we could get. The peak is visible to all of the south bay area and the nearby observatories are well know landmarks.

Thanks!

found this, the high-point of morgan county, wv, while searching for 3 great caches (gcpn7n, gcpnbx, gcpnc6) in cacapon state park, wv. the highpoint can be reached by driving 4.5 miles from the entrance of the park, along a forest road, some it well maintained gravel. the actual highpoint is BM RIDGE, JW1445, which is located .3 miles south of the cacapon mountain overlook. the view from the overlook is fabulous and not to be missed, remembering that the forest road is closed from the first of october until memorial day. the elevation of the high-point is 2320 feet. tftc, julia51:)

The highest point in Monroe County, PA. On the edge of Effort, PA. It is located in Dixon R. Miller Recreation Area (Delaware State Forest). Was surprised to find out that this surpassed Big Pocono State Park by 113'. On the trail, there were elevation signs, showing elevation on the way to the top.

An a stormy day I walked upp to 122 meters up to Västra Långefjäll or Getryggen as it is called today. This was the highest point in the old parish of Örgryte. Today the parish is a part of the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, but it is still a great view from the top.

After a bit of work checking out topo maps and a visit to the local Lands and Forest Depot ( mind you they hadn't a clue about highest spot in county ), I believe this to be it. The Georges Lake Fire Tower sits here in the Boisdale Hills, Cape Breton County, near Leitches Creek, Nova Scotia ( Cape Breton Island ), Canada. Dead center of the tower is a Nova Scotia Control Survey Point # 235 and the GPSr shows 793'. No view to see unless you climb the tower, no thank you.

We found the high point in Cochrane Alberta Canada this afternoon. The hill overlooking Cochrane is well known locally for the large number of hang gliders that frequent the area. Check out the pictures. TFTH.

I was surprised to find this location was not taken when I used the Locationless cache checker at Terraserve.
Located in Osceola County in Iowa. It was once listed as the highest point in Iowa, until modern surveys found that a farm a few miles away was higher. My GPS showed an elevation of 1638 feet. I did not find out what the recorded elevation was.
MotherGoose and I were enjoying a 1200 mile vacation traveling around Iowa when we found this. We thanked the friendly gas station employee for her suggestions of places to visit nearby.

Copernicus Peak
Mt Hamilton
Diablo Range
Highpoint of Santa Clara County, California
Elevation 4,368'

I've been up here many times, usually not to this peak on Mt. Hamilton though but to Lick Observatory. Several of the observatory buildings are also benchmarks and there are caches over there as well. Smile This is one of my favorite places!

I am very surprised that this is not taken already! Mount Marcy, the highpoint of New York State, as well as Essex County, NY. BeerSnob, tenebrus and I headed out and completed the 15 mile hike to summit this peak. It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time. The official elevation of Mount Marcy is 5344 feet, though as you can see from the picture my GPS is registering a bit higher.

This county high point was in Lee Co., Alabama. We were able to drive up to it. The elevation was 948 ft where the forest service lookup tower was. Great views from here and the road on the way up. Took the pictures of the view from down the road a bit. Thanks for the fun.
