Stopped in Hunterville to do a spot of shopping on our way south. And to grab this. Interestingly there were two containers hidden side by side; I signed the log in the tube container. TFTC.
3rd time lucky thanks to the new hint. Was a bit tricky as I only have 1 arm I can use at the moment, but I was determined to reach, even if it looked like I was saying my prayers. TFTC
My second DNF for this one. There was no one around and I had a good look. Am I missing something?
It wasn't a good day for Geocaching with constant drizzle. We gave it a pretty good look and nothing presented its self.
Thanks for hiding this cache tmann421 I appreciate it. I took a photo of the sheep after a good unsuccessful search
For some reason, this cache was just sitting out. I signed the log and tried to replace it better than I found it. It did not want to stick. I tucked it out of sight. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I had a long way to go as I continued my solo travel from Atlanta, U.S.A. around the north island. I knew that my next stop would involved a 2 night stay which I was really looking forward to - getting up and driving to a new spot every day is exhausting! It was a little cloudy and windy in the morning but eventually the sun came out to greet me. I had a lot of caches to find, so good weather was going to be helpful if I wanted to make it to Wellington by the time I had planned. It was a great day of caching in New Zealand. I knew my trip here was soon coming to an end, so I wanted to enjoy every minute. Many thanks to the COs who placed and maintain these caches for folks like me to find.
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Cheers, Cympull.
I stopped of in Hunterville in search of coffee. That important task complete I went in search of a cache or two. No worries here. Nice sculptures as well. TFTC
Quick stopover in the way to Taupo to check out the vintage shops. Great opportunity to grab a cache. TFTC.
Taking a short trip to Cambridge to pickup a car. Couldn’t go on a trip without geocaching!
I wrote in the log and placed the cache back as found, TFTCSL. Thanks tmann421 for this Traditional cache. Thanks for helping us get one step closer to our next milestone of 600 finds.

Stopped off in Hunterville for a break. Nice quick find while enjoying the sun. All good in container, tftc!
A nice quick find while driving home from my hols up north. Although I can't understand why I haven't looked for this one before now as I have certainly been through Hunterville many times since this cache was placed. I'll give a FP for finally knocking the bugger off!

With the Geotour coming to and end soon Yvettetb and I decided to go on a road trip to collect Tahi and Rua. Of course I had some puzzles at various places to collect and a few special types were added to the list too.
This was our 4th day. We'd stayed in Taihape last night and todays plan was to get closer to Palmerston North collecting my unfound SHIELD puzzles on the way. We eventually made it to Fielding after a sucessful day.
Nice to have a cache here to bring geocachers to these statues. A quick easy find. Thanks for your cache

Stopped in Hunterville for the geo tour cache here. But while visiting the WP's for the multi picked up a couple of trad cache. Thanks for placing tmann421
On a mission to do PWGT 2 caches in full and maybe some of Tahi ones too in the time I’ve allowed myself. There will also be some extras along the way to to make break the journey
Things starting to pick up around here but pretty quick find

Up from Southland with muggly hubby to revisit some old haunts and discover new places. Taking a leisurely trip and the caching goal is to complete PWGT2.
This is Day 2 on the road. I initially missed this trad while visiting the PWGT waypoints, but a return visit was needed as retrieval there not possible earlier today.
Quickly found here while hubby took photos.
Thanks for the cache tmann421

Easy find. Hubby brought 1000 head of cattle through the town for Hurleys about 1967 or so. Quite the nostalgic visit.Tftf
I'm on a week's annual leave, choosing to spend time traveling north to visit and reconnect with a few friends up here, and naturally that also gives me an opportunity to do some caching up this way again. But all good things must come to an end, and so today is day 7 which is the big drive back south again.
Darkness was falling by the time I was at GZ, but that meant the area was nice and quiet for a search. I always have a torch in my car but didn't need to resort to using it to find the cache.
So with the log signed I was able to replace it all as found and finally be on my penultimate leg home.
Thanks for placing this one.

Nice cache! quick find on the way to Wellington! thanks! (name is Alastair in the logbook btw)
Concentrating mostly on geotour caches today but this one was too close to leave. Nice quick find, thanks tmann421

Found with Madcow2, Mumandme and Kimmy+co. Having finished the Tongariro Northern Circuit today is a day of exploring. Amazing trip and views so far. TFTC
Tftc, on the way home from doing the northern circuit with mumandme, madcow2, victoriousone
Tftc .. found on our trip in the North Island travelling in our campervan from Christchurch
I’ve never noticed these enjoyable sculptures before. Nice to have an excuse to investigate them more closely. TFTC
One of five caches located today on the way home from an overnight stopover in Taihape. It’s good to be able to stop at a place like Hunterville, wander around and go after two or three caches as I did this morning, rather than racing through which is usually the case. Decided I probably didn’t need to check under each of the sheep! I was right. Found the cache in almost the first place I looked! #4335. TFTC.
A quick find while having a leg stretch on our way to Taupo. Lovely sheep! Thanks for placing the cache
Love the sheep statues! Also found a beautiful cat having an afternoon snooze in the garden
This proved to be a costly cache. We had a snack at a nearby cafe and walked up the road to this one. The cache proved difficult to extract and in the process a pen was taken to use and the GPS put down. Sadly we forgot to pick the GPS up again. As we use the phone mainly when travelling and the GPS when we need more accuracy, we didn't realise until we needed it again on the Desert Rd. A very nice policeman in Turangi rang to see if it had been handed in but no success.
Thanks for the cache. The lost GPS was our fault.

Well I looked in all the obvious spots using the clue. Even used my camera to explore without getting down to my hands and knees. I'll need to try another day.
27 December 2020 13:06 #8931. A much appreciated quinc pause to stretch my legs, window shop in the emporia nearby, and discover this cache. Tftc
I was prepared to give this one a miss if there were too many people around. However, it worked out well and I was easily able to retrieve the nicely hidden cache. For such a small town, there are certainly a large number of sculptures.
On the road to Rotorua with Ethness. These sheep are very cute! Thanks for the cache here. No long story to tell!

Just love these statues. More tasteful than the one we saw in Australia last year (see photo).

Explorating up SH1 including Hunterville.
Saw the sign post at the intersection indicating the 'Shopping Centre'. That's probably a bit of an exaggeration as there's only a handful of shops, and only a couple are open. One of which is Warren's Steampunk Emporium. The proprietor and another local Heather, are sitting outside *'chewing the fat'*. Heather asked me what I'm doing in Hunterville. Long story, short... I sit with them and join in sorting the problems of the World. Eventually the conversation gets around to geocaching. *When doesn't it?*
Actually in this case it is due to the 2° of separation theory. I know a Taranaki geocacher who is a well known Steampunk aficionado - LadyEsmarelda - who of course Warren also knows.
Heather is really taken with this geocaching game and I show her spare caches and logs from my geomobile and trackables travelling with me.
Eventually (after a couple of hours) it really is time to mosey along. This geocache is only 40m away and Heather follows me to find it. Coords are about 4m out but I find the cache using geosenses.
So here I am sitting with a local who's pleased as a kid in a candy store with ***'our find'***. TFTC Quite a lovely afternoon had in Hunterville.

Had an evening off work and headed up the Turakino valley road to Hunterville for some smileys. Lovely back country road with several bush reserves that most people would drive straight past. Was dark by the time I got here but could still appreciate the sculptures and no problems finding the cache. Too cold for muggles to be out. Thanks
On our to visit family in Wanganui with a few caches in the mix.Awesome spot & i was specially taken by the droppings,so life like.Thankyoutmann421,well done.
Heading up to Taupo for the weekend and stopping at a few selected caches along the way, this was one. All good here, TFTC
Excellent place to hide a cache. Hunterville seems like neat little town. Glad I stopped. TFTC.
Had popped into the nearby Steampunk Store and grabbed this before we departed Huntersville. Tftc!
Down with Tara ted so a quick stop in front of wooly friends before the long drive home thanks tmann421
Returning from the Survivor cache this was a much more straight forward cache. Being Sunday pm there were few people around although we felt a little sheepish as other smaller locals did keep an eye on us. Good placement. Tftc tmann421
A lovely drive exploring on Labour day. Time to grab a few caches in Hunterville. Love the sheep statues. Tftc
We were on a trip from home in Upper Hutt to Whanganui, but had decided to detour to buy some plants from a plant nursery a bit to the north of Hunterville. After getting the plants we passed through Hunterville for the second time in the day and stopped in the park for the rest rooms and a little Geocaching. In the many times we've driven through Hunterville over several decades we've only ever stopped once before and never to look for caches. In fact, without this cache I would never have found out that there were any sheep statues, because they aren't on the main highway. All was quiet when we got to GZ, with nobody else around to wonder what I was doing grovelling about to find the cache. Very well concealed I must say, as I had a job contorting myself to be able to reach it, so no muggle is going to find it by accident. I soon had the log signed and the cache back in place. We admired the sheep statues, and I especially liked the little touch of realism at the back of the ram . Mrs B reckoned he must have been on some lush spring grass. Then we headed off back to Barnaby, with one more cache en route, before continuing our drive to Whanganui.
Thanks for this cache tmann421, and for keeping it well maintained.

Well in spite of a gardener busily pruning roses close by, we were able to have a good look around in this quiet little town today. Only Tui’s superior agility allowed us to grab it and sign the log. Thankfully it was easier to replace than to retrieve. Bought a beautiful mini daffodil at shop across the road. TFTC
#10,699. An interesting park and grab on Bruce Street in Hunterville. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet when we visited. Relatively quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 20 Wellington to Hamilton. The last day. 12 caches collected. Cache was found while thinking about an old girlfriend Baabara. Thank you for the placement

On my way from Whakatane to Wellington to get my passport sorted so thought I best find a handful of caches along the way
This was a good spot to stretch and find another cache, perfect hiding spot, almost like it was made for it...

Today was part two of my road trip home to Nelson from Auckland, after picking up my son's "new" car from Napier, taking me from Taihape to Wellington... with time to find a few caches along the way, of course. Nice and early today so not busy at GZ. Found the cache after a short search - watch by the sheep of course. TFTC, Biggles.
Found this one on the way through - my phone wasn't working and so I couldn't access the hint so I was pretty chauffed to guess where this one was! TFTC
Another quick find here in Hunterville with harisree on our way north. No one around so made it easy. TFTC
On our way to Wanganui and around the Naki coast for a few days in the Geocamper. We tried this one quite a while ago and had no luck but we got you this time. No muggles around to bother us and Mr S made the find. Still windy and still cold.
Thanks tmann421. That cleans up Hunterville.

Quick find while taking the scenic route from Wanganui to Palmerston North. TFTC
Second during our short stop in Hunterville. This one took me awhile to spot and a few searches of both possible hinted objects. TFTC.
On a road trip with squirrel nutcase and Gap of Fap and Gap travelling down south to Hunterville and saying in Marton. I have not been down this way for a long time and usually it was always just passing through. This time it was good to take the time to see the amazing scenery and collect some caches as well. We stopped nearby for some food and while we waited I came over and got this cache. TFTC
Seems to be a theme today. Doing a lot of animal related ones. Bull, sheep and dog. Lol. Driven through the town many times and was unaware this was here. Quick find. Tftc
**Trip log:**
Found during Team DATT's (Do All The Things) annual international caching trip consisting of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5 and myself. Africa kicked it all off back in 2016, with a follow up European tour last year. I tried to pitch Asia but the pull of the Great Ocean Road and completing our 6th continent was too strong, and we landed on week long road trips through both Australia and New Zealand. Before meeting the team in Sydney though, I was able to schedule some layovers in Asia (Beijing, Bangkok and Singapore), so in the end I got a bit of everything. =)
**New Zealand Day 11 - Taupo -> Tongariro National Park -> Wellington:**
Today was pretty long as we covered a large portion of the north island on our way to Wellington and our ferry ride tomorrow. We detoured west around Tongariro National Park to enjoy the views, which were unfortunately obscured by clouds a majority of the time. It was overcast all day but luckily we never got rain. We were able to get into Wellington early enough to walk around and enjoy a Cinco de Mayo dinner at a restaurant called "Mexico," which I thought was just too funny.
**Cache Log:**
Fun little stop along our route.

Back on the road again for another international trip. This time to Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and South Korea.
Like our previous trips we focussed on old caches, high favorites, rare cache types and pretty locations.
Most of the trip was together with Plaguerider, Zanna and FLtravelers, but some of it I did solo.
Logs were signed as DATT (Do All The Things) and if there were answers, we typically sent them as a group.
Thanks for maintaining the caches for us.

We’re on our annual international geocaching trip as Team DATT (Do All The Things) comprised of FLtravelers, PlagueRider, waterfan5, and zanna. This year we chose to explore Australia and New Zealand. Zanna and I decided to do a two-day stopover in Beijing, a three-day stopover in Bangkok, and a 12-hour layover in Singapore on our way to meet up with the rest of the team in Sydney.
Once we got the Team back together, we made a “bee-line” to Lane Cove and various caches around Sydney. Then we headed down the coast on A1. After visiting Wasp Head, we headed up through Canberra and down M31 to Melbourne, after a webcam stop on Mount Buller.
We had a great time in Melbourne, which is my favorite city in Australia so far, then onto the Great Ocean Road, the highlight of Australia for this trip. After a couple days (not nearly enough) we left the ocean road and headed up A6 towards Victor Harbor (webcam) and Adelaide (webcams) for our flight to Auckland. Seems we found every webcam in Australia.
After a short week in Australia, we flew into Auckland and continued with our explorations in New Zealand. We drove over to Tauranga, and then down to Rotorua and Taupo, enjoying the thermal features. We headed down 5 to Napier, with stops at a couple of waterfalls, and then down to Wellington to catch the ferry to the South Island.
We spent the night in Picton, and then over to the awesome west coast, before crossing over Arthur’s Pass on our way to Christchurch for flights home.
We targeted old caches, highly favorited caches, earthcaches, virtuals, and of course webcam caches, and anything else that got our interest along the way. Logs were signed DATT. Answers, where required, were sent by one of the team members. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip with this cache. Great spot.
