I had the whole morning to myself and what better way to spend it than going for a bike ride and picking up a few caches. Unfortunately a DNF for me on this one.

DNF 15/17 for today. made a mad dash and spent the day with the geokiddies trying to bump this series out before archiving. tfts. with teagzd97 (found a heap of smoking implements...not the cigarette kind so bailed out of this one quickly before the kids starting asking questions)

Find 7 of 21 in the Oz Mega 2014 series.
Saw the warnings about the series being archived so we sprung into action with a flurry of puzzle printing and solving so that we would be ready for our bike ride around the area today. Spent a couple of hours on lovely quiet roads and in quiet parks steadily working through the series, all quick finds apart from one DNF. An excellent series, thanks for all the caches .K.B. This was the DNF - had a good ten minutes here but nothing jumped out at us apart from a dog on the shoreline!

I've decided to visit this area and to find all caches in this series. I managed it and enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the caches and greetings from Slovakia.

In Perth for a few days for a wedding, today was the main time I could find a few caches.
I had solved some of these at home and set out to explore; unfortunately I couldn't find this one - decided to call it a day.

30-Aug-14
Solved all the puzzles for the Oz Mega series a while ago and had the opportunity today to see how many I could track down. Manged to have ago at all 23 plus a couple of others, ended up with two DNF's on the series and one not attempted due to muggle activity.

Most were fairly straight forward finds with one or two tricky ones thrown in. All the co-ords seemed to be spot on, thanks for putting the series together KB, I visited a lot of great spots that I didn't know existed.

After parking up nearby I started to make my way down the hill until I noticed a pair of cupid muggles getting very personal right on GZ so I made a hasty exit.

Too much rubbish. Couldn't find it.

23-Jun-14
One of the most bizarre caching experiences I have had to date happened at GZ. I arrived to be greeted by a little black and white bird, who I figured would get spooked and shoot through when I got closer.

Au contraire... it was not worried about me at all and in fact it came closer, bouncing around me and frolicking as I hunted. As I found the container and stayed in one spot for a while, said feathered friend jumped on my back... WHAT THE... I have never had a wild bird do that... Surprised

I carried on with business and tucked the cache away, while the bird continued to enjoy the company. But, I had other places to be and had to bid him farewell... A very cool experience indeed... Big Grin

Cheers .K.B.

14-Jun-14
mr and mrs Helbren went to the Kardy for dinner and drinks with mr Helbrens sister Troutsky we then popped down to freo to find a few caches with 1 find and 4 dnf's we thought we would try our luck elsewhere, i had the final coords saved in my phone so off we went to do some of this series at 9:30pm and boy its a nice cold night and glad i wore my hoodie to keep the old noggin warm, thanks for the series (and sorry for cute and paste logs)

Cache is in such a stunning location. Thanks

11-Jun-14
I've found another cache in a very nearby location previously. This is a lovely area along the river foreshore, and I managed a quick find here.

Thanks for the cache and the series .K.B.!

Sad to say that despite all early good intentions, life changes interfered and I was unable to make it to the Mega this year. However all these puzzles to add to the puzzle stats is most welcome. I attempted them all, and found most, with 1 unable to get to because it was surrounded by muggles, and 4 unable to be found.
The rain held off and despite all my finds being micros, they were mostly easy finds, most were found with wonderful views, beaches and parklands along the magnificent Swan River. A most rewarding afternoon of sightseeing. Many thanks, K.B.

Final day in Perth today and managed to get away early from 'work' to grab the rest of this series. Collected them one by one driving along and then was still able to get to the airport in time. Great little puzzle and nice area. Thanx for the series.

24-May-14
I solved the puzzles for these caches soon after they were published and they've been on the radar ever since. After chatting to CO at Chwiliwr's event yesterday, I decided that today would be the day, so I did these and a few traditionals in the area with only one DNF on this series and one other DNF for the day, with 31 finds ... and i just realised that the other DNF (GC43KYR) has been archived ... I think I need to run my pocket queries more frequently!

Quick find here ... must have been an obvious spot for a KB hide, because I just walked right up to the object and put my hand right where the cache is. Signed the log. Thanks for the hide .K.B.

On a mission to finish the series on the way home today. Quick grab here and on to the next one. SL TFTC

Back at the river on the geo-bike to find the rest of the Oz Mega caches.
Second find for today. I have been in this park before, really like this part of the city. TFTH.

Seeing we (BettyBoo3747 and I) aren't going to make it to the Mega (working Easter!) we drove around this series and added to our puzzle collection. Grab a few others on the way.
We had varied fortunes on a sunny Sunday - no parking fees and easy parking, but a couple of spots muggled out.
Found quickly on the foreshore.
BB would like to complain that the log supplied wasn't very comfortable to sit on while writing in the logbook! Smile
We see that the council is trying to get rid of the little rowboats down there! Bit rough.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 6072. Day 2 of our caching foray around Perth. A beautiful Sunday morning and so many people out and about enjoying the great outdoors. Our aim this morning was to do the Oz Mega Series of 23 that we solved whilst waiting to board the ferry on Rottnest Island a couple of days ago. We also hoped to find some others that appeared on the radar as we drove around.

Another lovely spot by the water but a steep little slope down. A quick find here and a very quick signing as I couldn't find a comfortable perch on the log. Very shortly the banks will be bare of the little boats resting here. The Council are getting tough - a shame I think.

Thanks .K.B.

The geohubby worked all the co-ords out on monday night so we decided we would head out this morning and pick them all up.
All the caches were found without problems as the hints gave a great description of where to look and find them all.
We enjoyed doing the series and it only took us about 3 hours to complete and in that time we even stopped for a coffee break at the tea rooms near one of the caches. TFTC .K.B.

31-Mar-14
We had solved all the Oz Mega puzzles as they were published. We had already logged some a week ago and decided to complete the series on our way home south today - slight detour. Bit of a scramble down to gz but lovely views across the water from here. Just me and the pelicans. Thanks KB for all the effort put into these caches - quick finds, easily assessable and some scenic locations as well.

Made an early start today, hoping to find all the Oz Mega 2014 series before heading up into the hills for the Earthcache Event. This was the sixteenth stop for the day. Quick find. Thanks .K.B.

Parked a nearby park just north of here to get a traditional cache. This was only about 100m south of my parking spot to wandered down for a quick find. Beautiful area along here, doubt I'll ever be able to afford such real estate! TFTC.

27-Mar-14
Felt a bit more challenged here as we had been too reliant on geochecker and hints! Whilst I was finding a "to be recycled as a cache" container amongst rubbish on the foreshore in true CITO style, megawat60 cleverly found what I was meant to be looking for.
TFTC and series K.B.!

What a grand spot and some very nice houses around here. She was off down the track and I slowly followed listening to her say "3 metres to the NE", so I went around the other side where we had come from and low and behold there it was. A fav from me for this cache and the spot and the series, thanks KB.

26-Mar-14
We spotted this series last night and as we will need the practice before heading to the OzMega quickly attempted the puzzles and acquired some promising data. We attempted 23 caches today without any DNF's. This is typical of KB's caches. Coordinates are always good and the cache placed with the intention that it be found an enjoyable experience. Good job KB. Please excuse the copy and paste logs.
Thanks for the series KB

I headed out to the area this morning with Skippy46 to do this series, after seeing it on a facebook post.
Lucky for me she had completed all the puzzles.

We had a very successful day with 21 finds. All were easily found and in great condition.
I left some tags in those caches big enough them.

What a gorgeous little spot! I jumped out of the car while skippy46 stayed in wait. I forgot to read the hint, but made the find quite quickly. Then made my way up that great big hill. Smile
Thanks for the cache K.B.

Came back again late today to do some more of this series.

I had already searched GZ and didn't find the cache but on reading the listing I soon found the cache.

Thanks .K.B. for the cache.

With no parking available here, MNS13 said she would grab the cache as it was only 20 odd meters away while I stayed with the idling car.
After a few minutes a spot became available to park in so I pulled in expecting MNS13 to make an appearance. I then thought she may not have read the hint as she was taking too long. I was just about to jump out of the car to help, when she came huffing and puffing up the hill.
By the looks of her, I was thankful that I didn't have to make that climb.

Oh,,,,and she found the cache in the end Big Grin
